Sports › Coutinho: Barcelona Might Pay Liverpool If Bayern Munich Win The UCL by Sanchez01(op):
In an embarrassing turn of events, the Catalan club might have to pay Liverpool a fee should former flop Philippe Coutinho win the Champions League

Barcelona may have experienced their most humiliating defeat in club history after they were annihilated 8-2 by Bayern during the 2019-20 Champions League quarter-finals, b
ut their misery didn't end there.

With the score at 6-2 in Portugal, Bayern Munich brought on Philippe Coutinho, on loan from Barcelona, just to rub additional salt into the wound.

Coutinho well and truly delivered, scoring the final two goals against his parent club - who sent him to Germany after he failed to cement a regular spot in the team - in the final five minutes of regular time.

To make matters worse, reports have emerged about the final nail in the coffin - the fact that Barcelona will be forced to pay Coutinho's former club Liverpool a sum should the Brazil international win the Champions League with Bayern due to a clause in the player's contract.

Will Barcelona pay Liverpool if Philippe Coutinho wins the Champions League?

According to The Mirror, Barcelona have to pay a fee of £4.5m (€5m) to the Anfield side if Coutinho goes on to win the Champions League during his time as a Barcelona player.

Incredibly, the clause is player specific and not club specific, which states that the clause regarding a Champions League victory did not specify that it had to be triggered while playing for Barcelona.

Marca report that Barcelona did not consider the fee to be expensive because they had thought Coutinho would help Barcelona win the Champions League - which in itself boasts a huge financial reward.

Coutinho's €120 million (£106m/$130m) move from Liverpool to Barcelona in January 2018 made him the Catalan giants' most expensive ever signing.

However, Coutinho struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou and endured a nightmarish time after his departure from Anfield, with Barcelona having to loan the midfielder out to Bayern at the start of the 2019-20 season.

Coutinho knocking Barcelona out of the Champions League and potentially winning the competition was a hammer blow, with the exercise of the clause the final act.

The Spanish side will have to deal with the repercussions even more following the end of the 2019-20 season, with Bayern not exercising the option to buy the player - with Coutinho therefore due to return to Camp Nou.

Is it that he wants to sneak through the back door so that others wouldn't notice.
Nah.... Possibly an attempt at making the board quake and then begging that he should stay. Seems to me like he wants his ego fed. Pique did something the night they were humiliated by Bayern. He said he would be the first to leave if the board wanted old players to. He had no plans to leave and Pique is out of touch as a defender and I doub't any competitive club will want him at his age.

Messi might be worried that things are not playing out the way he wants, possibly for the first time.

Messi is a scam. You spoke to the new manager that you want out, a cross section of the board is indifferent about him leaving and now he is furious his talks with he manager got out. What was he expecting, that they appease him while on their knees and jack up his wages again? grin

The earlier Messi realizes that he is no longer the feared player he used to be, the better for him. Age has caught up with him and even if fresher legs were to be added to the team, a season won't be enough to make them sync. Every good thing always come to an end. And that is about to the once sweet relationship between Barcelona and Messi.
Sports › Lionel Messi 'furious' With Barcelona After Leaks, Luis Suarez Speaks Out by Sanchez01(op):
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is reportedly 'furious' with the club whilst team-mate Luis Suarez has also spoken out about a lack of direct contact with those at the top

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article22533148.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/0_Champions-League-Quarter-Final-FC-Barcelona-v-Bayern-Munich.jpg

Lionel Messi has reportedly left ‘furious’ with Barcelona as Ronald Koeman faces a tough task to appease the superstar.

Messi was left hugely frustrated and considering his future in the wake of their 8-2 Champions League humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich.

It was later reported that he wants to leave the club immediately after holding crisis talks with club chiefs just before the inevitable sacking of manager Quique Setien.

According to Argentinian newspaper Clarin, Messi has been left angry by information being leaked regarding his meeting with new manager Ronald Koeman this week.

Messi cut short his holiday to meet with the Dutchman and RAC1, a Catalan radio station who have consistently backed president Josep Maria Bartomeu, revealed he told the new manager he is seriously considering leaving the club.

Details of the private conversation being made public have angered Messi, whilst fellow star Luis Suarez has spoken publicly of his frustration at a lack of direct contact from the top.

Suarez told AS : “There has been talk of some names that the president suggested, changes that could be made, but nobody has told me that they want to get rid of me.

"If that is what the club wants it would be nice if the director responsible for these decisions spoke directly with me.

"It’s better than leaking if I’m one of the players they want to leave. We’ll see what happens.

"I want what’s best for the club as well and right now my intention is to stay on but if the club decide I’m no longer wanted, I have no problem talking to those that decide. Koeman? I haven’t spoken to him yet.”

Koeman now faces a serious task to appease Messi, with the board reportedly considering the possibility of selling him this summer.

The new manager addressed the situation for the first time this week, stating: ”He’s still got a contract and is still a Barcelona player. At this point I need to speak to him because he is the captain.

“We need to work with him and speak with various players. We need to make some decisions but in Messi’s case I hope he stays with us.

“I don’t know if I have to convince Messi [to stay], whether it’s that or not. He is the best player in the world and the best player in the world you want in your team, you don’t want him playing against you.

“As a coach I would love to work with Messi because he wins matches. If he’s at the ability and level he has always shown I’d be more than happy for him to stay.”

Some of you make cheap mistakes when it comes to logic.

You are the one diagreeing with them. You're the one to provide reasons to counter them, not me.

If you don't have any reason to counter them, just keep quiet and not rubbish what they are doing.

So, over to you. What is your basis or proof for disagreeing with them. Don't tell me you don't have any.
[/s]
...and the strawman award of the year goes to you!

You humped on my mention, I threw a simple question at you but rather than answer, you dilly dallied and ended building a body around basis and proof then up asked for my basis or proof, with your peppersoup mindset.

It's simple; do yourself a huge favour, sit down ask yourself some thought-provoking questions...

1. Am I arguing blindly because it is science or because I am an atheist?
2. Does science have an accurate answer to the exact age of the earth, ripping off crude guesses and supposed error margins?
3. What is the known recorded history and how long was it?
4. Is carbon dating truly accurate or largely based on estimation and crude guesses, particularly over 3,000 years old discoveries?
5. Is the said discovery of a 250 million year-old monster logical when the world's age is nothing but wild guesses?

How you successfully throw tantrums and asking someone you've never met to keep quiet when you clearly exhibited normative proposition, strawman attack and appeal to accomplishment at the same time is epic. The funniest part of all is that you have no answer to my question.

Kindly respond if something good hit you. Until then, it is futile putting up a rebuttal that will further reveal the shallow line of thoughts mostly exhibited by most Nigerians.

That's the traits that I have seen in wannabe atheists here on NL. You refute a claim they make (in the name of "we are the informed ones because we don't believe in God"wink and instead of addressing your arguments, they pick up another thing or worse, attack strawman.
The one strength they think they have is their nothing-like-God stance. Take the question of science to them and everywhere will bust.

If I was an atheist, God forbid, I sure as hell would do better than the pseudo-intelligence they exhibit.

Some 7 years ago, their oga, during an argument in the religious section claimed he was an atheist and that he doesn't believe in anything. Another atheist ended up teaching him that atheists believe in something even though the God-ship doesn't sail with them. You needed to see the confusion and self discovery on that day.

When it started looking like oga was losing, he resorted to banning non-atheists on that thread. I can't forget, I was banned for breaking rule 2. The difference between the upcoming among them and their bosses is a hairline difference. You'd be amazed if you jam them in an argument.

Such foolishness exhibited by you too. The earth's age has been a source of argument between those who believe that the big Bang Theory happened and the people who believe the universe is has been the way it is. You are calling someone ignorant you of all people who rubbished a research yet does not have a single dime to even conduct one. Shame on you. As someone who believes in reason, I believe that there are some things that we will never really understand or know. For example, understanding what nothingness means or understanding time.
[/s]
No one asked you this and stop running in circle. Whatever theory is propounded is not the problem but WHAT YOU BELIEVE. Again, stop appealing to accomplishment, it is distasteful. Just because I am not a movie director does not mean I can't critic movies. The same applies to other fields, particularly when it involves disturbing and gross exaggeration as with 250 million years.

Tell you what appeal to accomplishment does: it makes whoever exhibit shallow and tend to make them come off as market women. More importantly, it is an undertone of a dogmatic mindset. I am given and open to learning but believing others can't challenge what is because I haven't done it is myopic, lacking in refined taste and unintelligent.

No vex, if you feel the barrage is hitting hard. Shallow discourses put me off. I was getting into this before now but not anymore. Your rebuttal is not necessary cheesy

The sperm cell not swimming stuff you're mentioning is tricky because you're talking of microscopic organisms. If you read the report well you'll understand what the researchers are saying is not so profound.
I still insist it's illiteracy that makes people think the Earth is 6000 years old.
Every self-respecting science enthusiast knows carbon dating isn't perfect, but it's what we've got and reseachers know where to draw the line.
If the title of the thread was to be more accurate it'll read as estimated 250 million year-old fossil or something, it's not a definite figure

That the EPL is more competitive does not make it better. The English media has done tremendously well in the past 15 years to hype the shiite out of the average footballers in the league just to match their Spanish counterparts.

At this point, I give up, because even the "IP Chelsea" touts on almost every Lagos Street won't say the emboldened with a straight face.

The EPL's best was shamed home and away by ATM and we know how Klopp had been bought on the "this is Anfield" nonsense. I know you might be quick to mention Manchester City against Madrid but the team was clearly far from its best even though it put up a bit of a display after the restart.

The EPL has fireworks and all what not but UEFA is not foolish for ranking the LL above all others.

Yes of course who said science is infallible. I don't believe in a lot of things this new age scientists throw up but things like this are hard proof. They offer an estimate at least that it happened millions of years ago.
The emboldened are contradictory. New age scientists are not too different from the old. The difference is the old had limited knowledge and exhibited some societal dogmas. The new age is cursed with exaggeration, data manipulation (for profit), and lies to suit narratives.

That they said they found a creature's fossil of 250 million years ago and put up pictures does not validate the claim in any way.

Of course it is not, and I am more aware of that than you're. But which methods are you aware of that produces a more accurate resulthuh And what makes you think researchers don't factor room for errors?
It is not a dvck measuring contest. And I took you on from the angle of referring to those who don't buy the 250 million charade as Illiterates.

There is:

1. Samarium–neodymium dating method.
2. Potassium–argon dating method.
3. Rubidium–strontium dating method.
4. Uranium–thorium dating method.
5. And there is the lead (something...)

The Uranium–thorium dating method is more accurate for dating fossils of over 500,000 as against the carbon dating method you sold and branded people Illiterates over. Although the latter is considered more accurate generally, the Uranium-thorium is still much more accurate.

I believe approximation/estimation pattern is at play here. And if it is, it still makes a mockery of science in the end as to the true age of the earth. You can't tell me a fossil of 250 million years ago was recently discovered when science only discovered that sperm cells don't in fact swim but wriggle.

That science is very notorious for gross exaggeration is an open secret. Science interests me a whole lot and it has led me on a heuristic method of learning for about a decade but don't come and sell unleavened bread in the name of enlightenment.
