My guy, just to let you know that government is a reflection of the mindset, beliefs, values and thought process of the society. It is a mirror of all people. An incompetent government equals weak people that want to be led. ... A Progressive government equals a developing, curious, proactive citizens or followers. . The day you, l, and everybody take responsibility for solving our problems individually and collectively than we shall all appreciate that problems are meant to be solved. We then value knowledge based on critical thinking and evidence and ensure competent people ran our affairs.. Most people are emotionally driven, hence why superstition and quest for quick blessings is prevalent in religious centres. In addition, in the western countries. Most people are not religions rather they are spiritual driven with discipline, purpose and good morals.. What's t the point being a religions person but you cannot be trusted with other people's money, business or interest. As Africans, we are gradually beginning to question and evaluate the things we do, practice and imitate. . The Europeans reached that era, it was called the period of Enlightenment hence why there was several revolutions in France, Russia, Sweden and Holland, which eventually separated religious institutions from the affairs and running of Political government. Competence and knowledge is superior that faith in every sphere.. We shall get there in our country.. Stay bless. quote author=gaby post=119400349]The day Nigeria progresses into a nation with the welfare of her citizens at the heart of its policies overall, you'd understand. Just imagine a situation where you are assured of a job and timely pay as and when due, access to healthcare, and every other social amenity. And then to cap it all up, even when you aren't able to work, you have access to social welfare benefits. My brother, the day majority of Nigerians working or not can just walk down to the next ATM at the end of each monthly cycle to make withdrawals of their salaries or stipend from the government, church businesses will become obsolete and relationships with religion will become personal and organic. The current style of Christianity in particular is a result of "surrendering it all to God" since the government has failed in every aspect of caring for the citizens. Humans have resigned to fate and hope endlessly for succor from supernatural forces or beings.
|
Nice one. All African teams should get at least a Win. That way, we wont be considered "Coming to mark attendance". Morocco has gotten a Win, Senegal too, Remain Tunisia (Very Unlikely), Ghana( Maybe against Korea) and Cameroun (Probably Today) . [/quot —--------_-----------------------(((((((()) (((((((((((((((((((() ( As Africans, it is imperative that we understand that to be consistent or effective in any activities be it leadership, sports, health and our environment infrastructure there must be a method. A consistent routine and pattern of doing things.... Unfortunately, we do not develop football development across Africa or in any activities of our life.. How then do you expect to grow and be part of the civilised world? The average African passionately supports a foreign team based in England, Spain or Italy.. Yet, we are surprise African teams do badly when there is no coaching, structure or established pattern of play.. Established footballing playing countries have well defined football method/approach. You just do not put 11players on the field with no function or job task.. We need to go back to grass root local football and build from there.. Start with simple things.. Learn to pass the ball to the next person, pass to space, marking and position yourself as an individual and as team when the opponent is in possession of the ball. We should teach young prospective players to learn to play chess or draft.. It HELPS with reasoning, thinking on impulse and calm respond to counter attack.. Most of us struggle with resilient and have poor coping skills because we fail to plan and preempt all possible scenarios.. I wish the Africans coaches well and hope there are able to work with local coaches on a football formula that is unique to a region, club or country.. The Dutch football philosophy is different from Spain, Brazil, or Croatia.. However, something is clear from this game and Senegal game that football is not just physical attributes, skills. You require tactics and psychologically awareness as well especially when your opponent exploits your area of weakness. Cameron team lacked basis football principles.. Keep ball, do not loose possession, progression as a team and positioning.. No point kicking long ball when opponents are taller than you and better in the air... |
Larrycool1234:. Biggest scam for the last 2,000 years. Christ seemed like a good guy with good intention like my icons Mandela, Fidel Castrol, Malcolm X. Martin Luther Kings, Buddha, Awolowo and Azikiwe. The guy done die. RIP... Africans should move on and invest in personal developments rather than fear, myth and superstition. |
CheapHomes1:. No vex if I misread your earlier post.. I only commented because you refer to women that practice polygamy as useless... No harm intended just stating a different perspective... |
CheapHomes1:. ___---------_-------—-----)))) ((()))))))))))))))))))) Haba, you are harsh on the women!!!! ... Polygamy as long as it is agreed is just another type of relationship by functional consenting adults.. What is wrong is fake monogamy forced by religions beliefs, insecurity, or modernity.. Even worse is serial monogamy camouflage as love, then one person is cheating or unhappy but staying in the marriage because of children, society or financial security.. Even in the older days when polygamy was rife, a significant amount of people choose monogamy.. I feel the emphasis should be on genuine communication and committed relationship by all parties whether polygamy or monogamy.. These days people don't marry in the so called western Christian countries.. The concept of family structure is gradually breaking kdown because children are born with no idea of parental role or family structure.. At least in monogamy or polygamy it consists of a male that is involved with a female/s.. Let's not be too quick to condemn our culture that still offersr the family of the bride some respect and carry out marriage rituals.. I feel the welfare of children must be priority in a polygamous relationship so there is no jealousy or unfair treatment... If female empowerment increases perhaps the practice may fade gradually... In the Western t countries, nothing stop the man from being a player, the girl dem sugar, a generous giver or sperm donor to all.. The concept of marriage and MONOGAMY is eroding in western Christian countries and moving towards cohabitation and partnership... Let's correct and evolve our culture and not condemn it entirely.. In a polygamous family, you know everybody.. No side chicks or outside pikin. The popularity of polygamy will reduce if women decide having a child or getting married is not a necessity.. Until then, you have a population of 4 women to 1 man.. The most able and high value men will always have more options of women.. It is just fact of nature.. Even oyinbo men dey do affairs, Boris Johnson just born recently from his third baby mama, new wife.. The only difference is that the system does not allow official sharing of couples.. Mainly for tax purpose... ... Just like R. yan Giggs.. When there is a surplus there is a need. |
Righteousness2:.. So you really believe those tales by moonlight written centuries ago.. Even the Jewish people know say naa history.. What's the contribution of the bible or foreign religion to modern life in 2022...Africans dwelling on the past when others are building for the future!! Development and growth is a choice... |
blueAgent:---–---(((((((((((((((((((((((( Well history tells us that religion beliefs including christiniaty were tools used by ancient people to find meaning to life, or their situation at the time.. If we go by the Jesus story.. He appeared like a social activists that questioned Judaism, the teachings of the Torah. He was a Jew and his reference was to the Torah and interpretation of Jewish teaching.. Jesus never wrote a single piece of his work, teachings or introduce Christianity before he was crucified.. The place jesus followers were first called Christians was in Antioch, in modern Turkey... St Paul up to his conversion persecuted Christians and he was born in Tadsus modern Turkey.. The questions you have to ponder are: What's the main religion in modern Israel today? Is Jesus accepted as a prophet or messiah by the Jews? Do the state of Israel or the Jewish nation recognise jesus as son of God, as proclaimed by Christians? What is happening in modern Antioch and Tadsus, in Turkey, were christiniaty was spread in ancient times before the Islamic conquest? Are these people now bound for hell fire for adopting a new faith that is not true? I think the point being made is that religions beliefs whether abrahamic faith spread by colonisation or Arab conquest or traditional beliefs are a tool to finding meaning to life...It is man's invention... It is your interpretation and how you apply it to your life and people that determine its relevance.. Claiming one religion beliefs or doctrine is true or superior than another comes from a mindset of dominance and imposition forced by Empire and colonial superiority. If christinianity was not adopted by emperor Constantine and forcefully institutionalised in the Roman empire it will never have seen the light in Western Europe... Christiniaty was only spread predominantly in territories under Roman control or closed to Asian minor.. .. So, Christianity despite its benefits cannot be claimed as the true religion..You are entitled to be passionate and champion your faiths.. These are the reasons why pagan, western Europe, separated Christianity from state politics following the era on enlightenment... Please travel to Asian, Indian and Persian... People have their religions beliefs buddism Hinduism and are fully functional..... Religion beliefs regardless of its origin helps shape your character and perhaps guide you but it is based on experiences, fabricated and real life encounters.. However, it is only a tool to self discovery and you still require further understanding of other areas of life to be functional... No religion faith is absolute true, it is based on your interpretation... |
kingPhidel:-----))))))))))))))))))))) I think the author asked a fair and reasonable question.. Is Christianity or any of the abrahamic faiths the only route to heaven or alternatively hell.? I think as we grow we must be prepared to face critical questions such as these.. The more Humans being advance in meeting their needs psychological, happiness, and social demand as human beings, you begin to ponder, who is more relevant to my existence a fellow human being or an imaginary supernatural being that may or may not exist? There are no definite answers to many questions around, God, religion and supernatural existence but be prepared to deal with these investigation, questioning in future from people particularly the younger generation, who are knowledge driven.. It is part of our evolution and societal development.. People read the Bible but forget the historical influence of the roman empire, Greek philosophy and traditional practices and norms that contributed to that beliefs... If jesus and St Paul was alive in 2022 taking account of modern inventions:science, technology and conflict resolutions mechanism would their beliefs and core teachings be the same as it was in ancient times? |
blueAgent:-----(((((–-----(----(-----------(-((-(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( Well if you say so.. Christian beliefs and any religion beliefs are well intentioned... The critical point is that you do not need to be indoctrinated by a foreign and ancient beliefs to be a functional and upright person.. True religion is kindness, empathy and being a better person to the next person.. You cannot be cruel to a fellow human and worship and be loyal to a God or supernatural being that is imaginary.. People remember your character, how you treat them, and make them feel not who you worship... |
Ellasure:-{-------(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))) Interesting, Please note this world is not just about Christianity and Islam.. The two most populost counties are neither Christians or Islam... That means... You can live a functional life by taking control of your life without any religions beliefs.. Well advanced countries have laws that guide and shape human relation.... Your relationship with your God via your religion or spiritual awakening should be a personal and a private matter that makes you a better person.. |
gameova:-----___------------__------------------------------(-(( Personally, l think without Christinianity and Islam we all would have evolved from within. It is much easier to change local practices that are inimical to growth because the experiences are local and decision makers are participant... No doubt some of our traditional beliefs were or are still harmful but a critical appraisal would have come from within either through generational change, war or some form of rebellion.. The Oyo empire had check and balancing process to check the Alaafin.. Those abrahamic religions beliefs may have provided meaning over a 1000 year ago for their Jewish, Arabs and Roman people but well developed countries understand that religion and spiritual affairs are just one aspect of life.. We do our self a disservice as Africans thinking your beliefs in God solves all problems.... The purpose of man, my and your existence is to think, innovate and proffer solution to modern problems through science, research, living in peace and understanding ourself and environment..Religions doctrines in my opinion are just not compatible with modern and current prevailing challenges... Your spiritual growth/journey should be a private matter between you and your maker and the direction you get should be based on your conscience, mind and motivation to be a better person... We all need to grow and develop in other aspect of life.. For example, your health and understanding your genetic health risk, financial managemt, happiness and emotional welfare, people management and conflict resolution, self growth, training and edutional are other aspect of life that requires attention not just religion beliefs... You can live a functional life without religion... |
Obio4real:----(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))))=)) This is a classic example of how backward we are in terms of thinking, mindset, and conflict resolutions.. Many of our people are too emotional with negative vibes, lack critical thinking and cannot solve problems without wicked method.. Every developed nations have evolved and understand the importance of collecting evidence, establishing facts first before conviction, not just relying on feelings, gossips, or superstition, before reaching a conclusion.. We still have a lot to learn about our negative emotions and that not all thoughts in our mind are true... Borrowed religions beliefs compounded with traditional practices that accuses without providing facts is an hindrance to our development.. How do we treat other people that are disadvantaged by age, physical attributes, gender, health or vulnerability? We should remember that the older you become you likely to suffer from memory loss, emotional and mental disorder? As a people we should do more to understand these health issues, dementia, learning difficulties, down syndrome, rather than rely on religions or superstition for clarity and meaning to things.. Africas need continued education into science of the mind, body and how treat and relate with others... We alll need exposure and collective perspective in reaching conclusion.. Most importantly there must be strong sanctions for people that lack emotional control, ignore legal conflict resolution mechanisms to authorise the killing of another person regardless of the accusation... People are too wicked and prone to engage in cruel activities withing consideration if the victim is innocent... I hope one day pastors, religions clerics, and people in power either local babalawos or head of a community, who accuses people of witchcraft or crimes without evidence are prosecuted and made an example of... |
Jennygold111:. Good morning Jenny Gold, I am not an atheist but am not religious.. I like to think I find meaning in my life in my spiritual growth and understanding. I may not relate with your experience directly but I can share similar suspicion and misunderstanding from family and religions people who fail to see when you are coming from.. I think you don't need to explain to anybody. Something l recently realise that works is to leave/avoid religious people to live in their delusion/way of thinking. Do not challenge their view or perspective of coping with life. . I go to church when invited by friends, l see it as a social gathering same as my Muslim friends who invite to me. But I don't engage or believe in any dogma or rituals such as miracles, prayer and those negative prophecy or revelation... I say work on yourself, improve your character, and focus on self development... It gives me peace of mind and better coping abilities. Keep well. |

virginprincess:—-___-------________---------------------(((( Good day Virgin princess, The gift or receiving the money is not the issue here. Please try and see where the guys is coming from. It is the failing to disclose, secrecy, inability to explan after the revelation.. If you choose to share your life in a committed relationship or marriage. Honesty, clarity, trust and full disclosure is a must. Trust is important. If you can cannot be transparent to your husband and father of your children then don't bother getting into marriage. The repercussion for hiding or keep mum are grave...the guys friends could try and black mail her in future if he knows she keeps secrets from her husband.. We must all treat others well. |
fergie001:... Thanks.. Its be a great feeling sharing the joy of Team Nigeria. Best wishes all.. |
Mynd44:Too early to praise the sport ministry, but we can encourage it to do better.. Remember most of the medals well down to individual efforts.. We need the states and most importantly the private sector to fund sporting actitivies with of course government intervention. We will do better if we have systems in place so if Sunday Dare leaves the processes continues.... |
UjuJoan2:.. If you are a woman that likes to cheat or have extra marital affair? Then no problem just let your partner know, so he decides what he is dealing with.. Don't deceive anybody, this applies to both a man or woman, and then deceitfully see another person.. Some men would leave if that your lifestyle ol while others might stay with it... As a mature women be honest about your urges and desire.. Don't deceive others... |
onumadu:--<_____-------__________-_____------------------------ Just to be clear!! Marriage or relationship should be enjoyed not endured or managed. Is important we do not enable bad behaviour in the name of marriage is not easy.. A breach of trust is what it is... We do not want a situation whereby this man hurt himself or somebody because of deceit he has discovered in his wife. We must encourage no infidelity in any relationship either by the man or woman. Or at least be honest with your partner if choose to have multiple relationship with others... The bottom line is that If you ask some women, then will like to explore or engage in some sexual relation with others... When you find the truth, let them free. But never enable or manage a bad behaviour from a partner that does not want to change. In name of wanting to keep a marriage.. You will end up miserable.... .. |
Lastborn0074:. Sorry to hear about your ordeal bro.. The ultimate decision is yours.. A breach of trust in any relationship hurt. You must decide if she fully understand the impact of her actions, and consequences on yourself and the effect on the marriage.. She seems to be doing hook up or sex talking for money? . So your financial stability as a union must be explore? Should this be a team effort or just you to provide? Is she cheating because of money or getting attention or affection outside and want to explore her sexual urges with another person? ... If she is willing to compromise on the vow and do the dirty while you are still able to work.. Then think about what will she do when you are unemployed or disabled? ..Economic hardship is not reason for cheating, it just shows it was married to you for comfort and financial security.. Integrity, honesty, trust are key characteristics you must watch out for. As per your 4 daughters, you can co- parent with her... Both of you will equally train and provide for the young children.. She contributes half the school fees you do half. Not sure of your accommodation situation?.. If she decides to give you full custody of the kids then fine but never prevent her from seeing her children. The bottom line never stay in a relationship with someone you cannot trust because of the children. Forgive her if she shows genuine remorse, gets a job, and work on her mistake.. However, if you feel she is deceitful, untrustworthy and cannot be relied on.. Then you have to decide what is best for you and your life.. Make sure you protect your mental health... I have see great men breakdown due to relationship issues.. Keep in touch with family and good friends to keep your spirits and mind positive.. Best wishes.. Take your time and not be hasty in making any final decision now.. . Best wishes... |
Danielnino00:We need to fund those guys in 400 metres and above... . They need the right coaching, diet, and pysiotherapy when injured and some form of compensation or remuneration when injured... Anything over 150 metres places pressure on the body and wear and tear happens with age... Forgot government patronage, the private sector or a percentage dedicated to sporting activities is the only well to guarantee consistent performance.. |
fergie001:I think we have the natural talent but it requires strategy. To be the best, you require coaching to guide with energy usage, diet and psychology... That requires dedication and patience.. I saw flavour ofili run the 400 metres relay final and took gold in the under 20 championship in Kenya last year.. They are many people who are capable but it takes a torn on your body as you grow older and begin to pick up injuries... So the right health system and physio therapy matters.. It all comes down to funding.... Bostwana has a dedicated sport and youth development centred on medium distance running since they discovered Nigel Amos and moestho... They are the best in 200, 400, and 800 metres... Senegal too has a youth and medium distance running centre.. Nigeria just need to concentrate and specialise on one thing.. Delta state seems to have focused on sprints with the discovery of blessing okaghbare and Ese... . . Bayesa.. With igali in. Wrestling.. Edo.. Althetes... Other state in negeria need to specialise in certain activities.. |
IMO, private sector funding is what will lift our sport sector forward... Government are never serious with anything aside filling their pocket... Private sector helped uplift our entertainment industry..it's doing the same with our tech industry...It can do it for the sport industry too.. If we can establish something similar to the NCAA in America, it would be a great start... Already,we have the HIFL(higher institution Football league)..it would be great if it's extended to other sports... --—----__----—__----------------------------------(((((((((( Thank you for your insight.. My thought exactly... We all must see sporting activities as a business, as a source of youth development, employment and national stability... Just imagine if every organisations including religious institution had a football as well as an athletic stadium... It will keep the youth constructively engage... I think the private sector need to see the long term benefits of youth development and sporting activities... Please let's convince the business moguls in private sector!:: dangote, Jim ovia, and adenuga and folawiyo and etc to fund sport and the results will speak for itself... |
fergie001:Congratulation Ese... Job well done... Men x 400..better luck next time... Need more training... |
KosiGee:.. Congratulations to our women x 100... Well to men 4 x 100.the guys tried winning bronze .. A faster leg would have guaranteed a silver.. Back to drawing board to improve sprints. More young people to get engage in 60, 100, 200, 400 metres.. Let's fund sport and entertainment activities individually and collectively. Best of luck.. Best of luck |
nakotee:--((((((((((((-(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((! ((!!!!!!!!! Is very important that you focus on your strength and see how good qualities in others can make you grow... This emphasis on trying to defend some ancient borrowed beliefs or religions doctrine will only cause you offence. As an Africa, improve your spiritual life and self identity The most development countries or civilised societied in the world understand religions beliefs are personal and should never be a burden placed on society and everyone.. Make personal development and growth you daily habit and you will find peace and progress... I wish you a great day.... |
Fiyin007:. Congratulation to Tobi.. New games record... 12.30.. Defended her common wealth title..... . |
fergie001:. ...................... True, l see what you mean with government involvement but those guys are politicians.. They are not interested. The private sector and communities must decide to collectively fund sport and training for our youths....The UK used national lottery fund to sponsor sport, athletics and pay professional athletes ... .. I guess we can collectively donate or fund a sporting council or agencies that sponsor young sporting professionals.. Most times an athlete gets injured and they're left on their own... The private sector can capitalise on sport just like nollywood or music or entertainment. |
fergie001:. I see that babe for stadium this evening she is adorable.. Kudos to her season best for her throws... The Nigeria team represented well... If these athletes placed on a monthly wage/salary... We must think how we intend to fund our sporting activities/engagement like we fund our religious organisation? There is Tima Godbless... Just 18 years sprinter... true potential.. Watch out for her. Please sponsor or fund a sporting or training activities in your area or community.. . .. |
