Octaves:You probably don't live around Oyo state, if you do, you must have heard of the tortoise. There's no hidden agenda or new story about it. The story about it has been passed down from generation to generation. Besides, tortoises are known to live for more than 500 years, so this tortoise hasn't done anything "special". |
...and una go make shoprite look like something beneficial to the state. Na 2 shoprite outlets dey my place, but I don't see how they've changed anything. |
While I don't agree that Nigeria is best at Scrabble, I believe people should not be too quick to condemn the whole study. If you evaluate the map thoroughly, you will notice that it's about what each country is best at and no two countries share the same factor. So that probably tells you we're neither the poorest nor worst country in the world, though we're also poor. |
All these Igbos online suffer from excess inferiority complex; they constantly need to praise themselves to feel good. I've stayed in anambra before and I've met lots of Igbo offline; they do not engage in lots of chest-beating as these ones online. See Yorubas trooping in to engage them too. To me, this should just be laughed off. Her opinion should be inconsequential. |
Oluwamuyeewa:No qualms, bro. I only wrote based on what the Op used as evidence. I've no other reason to doubt your/his claim. |
CastedDude:...and where's the evidence? So because they were tagged beggars by the person who shared the picture means they're truly beggars Whether beggars or not, the pic looks dapper, at least from head to their waist. And they looked happy too. Even with their disabilities, they were happy. A lesson to all. |
Nigerians need to start reading and getting more exposure. The level ignorance on display on this thread all in the name of religion and ethnic bigotry is alarming. FYI, people travel to Cambodia, Bali and Borobudur in Indonesia and other relatively unknown places just to see Buddhist temples and statues like these. Those people are not much better economically than us, but they are annexing what they have in terms of touristic attractions to make millions of dollars each year. All our governments need to do now is to showcase what we have to the world through the internet and woo foreigners and locals to come and explore what we have. |
Icansing:You're really here to catch fun according to your signature. |
Icansing:There are individual differences; I've seen teenagers who look like men in their early 20s. So because you look younger than you really are doesn't mean everybody has the same look. And when next you quote people, learn to criticise them respectfully. |
Those of you saying music age; how did you guys look when you were 24? That boy looks like a regular 24-year old. HBD to him. Who be lanicky una dey mention sef? HBD to him/her anyway. |
We're talking phone brand, you're mentioning iPhone 7, is iPhone 7 a phone brand or just a specific phone model? When it comes to phones that people use most; it's Tecno. Even if you consider the ones people know most, whether they use it or not; it's still Tecno. I don't use a Tecno phone and you don't have to use one to admit these facts. |
Nairaland keeps hitting a new low everyday. How many times are we going to have this on the front-page? Are these mods getting paid at all? If they're, they need to be queried. Millions of young Nigerians out there can do a better job if employed. |
alizma:If you have ever done MMM, you would have known the answer to the first part of your comment. As long as he has cashed out, it's impossible to be in loss. You get 30% profit +total money invested each time you cash out. However, the second part of your comment is where I've questions too. But I know it would very likely crash one day, but until then, I'll continue to PH and GH, albeit sensibly. |
winj:Same trash y'all usually write here on Nairaland. We've so many threads highlighting the negatives of Nigeria and Nigerians.. Go and express your damned opinion there. For once, we're to say something positive about this country and her culture; if you've got none to say, kindly stay away from the thread! Is it too much to relax and say something positive? Peace! @Op.. I'm Yoruba, and I love the respect, and wedding traditions the most about my culture. |
![]() Aufbauh: Does this sound funny to you? ![]() APC is the party of the confused! Why on earth would you woo the same people you've been demonizing? As for PDP, their ship just continues sinking. Are they not meant to be the ones changing the changers ![]() Awon werey alaso! |
The country must be the worst in the world. Apart from the directives of the house of rep, I noticed that all those that are not participating are secretly praying for it to collapse. Com'on, that you don't participate doesn't mean you should wish for its collapse. This country is doomed! We're even after our fellow's downfall. MMM pair me jare, make I PH. |
diehardanusfan:Haaaaa! You got me laughing. But honestly, those crappy nonsenses always sound somehow to me; these things are for teenagers. I often consider grownups that do them as being daft. |
nickxtra:The topic says "popular Nigerians", is your mum popular? No, so just keep that to yourself. We know you cherish her, we also cherish ours. PWEETYWIZZY:She's still in her thirties, so I think she's too young to be on that list since others here are well above 40. |
Histrings08:You're right. I doubted what I wrote for that yellow too, but they call blue "awo sanmon" too. |
mickeyenglish:Nah! You gave the wrong examples. There are more than 3 names for colors in Yoruba; the problem is that you all have refused to learn about the local languages. White (funfun), red (pupa), black (dudu), yellow (ofeefe), green (awo eweko), ash (awo eeru), blue (awon sanmon) and so on. However, I concur that our local languages lack adequate lexicons. But that can even be attributed to the fact that we've refused to use them in our academic environment; thereby, failing to work on them constantly as often done in the case of English language. |
@op... You're really talented. I'm wowed. Get yourself onto social media and you'll get the exposure you need from there. gangwolf:This forum is gone to the dogs already. You'll have to plead for weeks before an artistic or even educative thread can make front-page. But a "breast-revealing", " yeyebrity tagged " or "snake killing" thread will not have up to 4 comments before it would be moved to the front-page. However, that's what many Nigerians want; the comments/views of those useless threads prove it. I don vex talk too much sef! |
Op.. wetin be diz :oOp.. Add "graphic pictures" to your topic to warn viewers! See her sef like skeletons. But seriously, why would anyone really want to look like her? |
See their toothpick-like leg sef.. How u go call these ones the most beautiful girls in Idemili (North/South) The winner even represented that Eziowelle village, abi na town ![]() I've seen more beautiful girls around that area, just that "some" of them are quite "local". |
dablazor:Just a regular account. I've not even verified the account, but I would have to verify it once I receive up to $2500 through it. |
dablazor:If you mean freelancer dot com, Yes, I've received money from there through Skrill. Any problem? |
SalomonKane:Bro, never mind them. The same sentiment that has placed us where we're in this country. She committed a crime > she was caught red handed > she should be punished as stated in the law! Simple and straightforward!! Was she drugged or forced? No. It doesn't matter the reasons why they asked her to do it, she should be penalized. The only thing we could have asked for is getting those behind it to be arraigned in court and punished too. The reactions from these sentimental individuals would probably have been different if they're males. |
32 Let's all start lying then. I'm having my 13th birthday today, NLers.
|
Soldiers/policemen kill civilians.... Nigerians react on social media. FG makes unfavorable policy... Nigerians react on social media Someone loots money,... Nigerians react on social media EFCC locks someone up for months without prosecution... Nigerians react on social media Man marries lady with kwashiorkor... Nigerians react on social media. Una no dey tire of social media reactions. Nigerians and social media reactions are like.....(someone should help with that meme jare) |
Blessedward:Which kind talk be diz, bro. Where in my post did I lie about myself or any other person? I never even said Dbanj paid that much. All I'm saying is don't tell him what to do with his money. hexy40:Exactly, bro. As long as he's making money legitimately, how he spends it should not be our problem. |
Nigerians and their trash talks... Someone said Mark, Bill Gate and co don't buy these stuffs.. how do you know? That they don't show these things on Facebook or Twitter doesn't mean they don't buy them. BTW, they buy yacht and more expensive stuffs, is a yacht a necessity or just a luxury? You also probably buy wristwatches and shoes that are worth 20k+ without having up to a million in your account.. How are we sure you won't buy something worth millions if you're worth more? Stop bullshittting here; if you make your own money, go feed the poor (BTW that's a noble act by all standards), but you ain't gonna determine how others spend theirs. |
