Good day, NLers.

Please, which Nigerian bank has the best/highest interest rate on a fixed deposit account?

My searches on the internet have been showing inconsistent results. So, I will appreciate getting answers from people here.

Again, which Nigerian bank has the best/highest interest rate on a fixed deposit account?

Thanks.

Nawa oo. I can’t withdraw my money from Payoneer. I was asked to activate my card, card that I didn’t receive. For some stupid reason they put the money in my expired card. I don’t really understand these guys

I had a similar issue in March/April/May.
The best solution is to request for another card but opt for courier services like someone suggested.
I used DHL express delivery and got my card within 5 working days for just $40. It may sound expensive but it saves you the anxiety or stress of waiting for months to get the card, especially during this pandemic when the free option may not be fast.
Health / Re: COVID-19: Volunteers At LUTH Shut Operations Over Non-Payment Of Allowances by Sard(m): 10:31pm On May 23, 2020
Most of you are asking why they are asking for money.. lol

In public health and some other sectors, most volunteer opportunities pay stipends. The stipends will not be as much as the salary or wage suitable for the kinds of jobs that the volunteers will do.
In most cases, the stipends will only cover transport fare and food.
So, yes, volunteers can ask for stipends if the government doesn't want to pay as agreed.

Hi,
If you are going to be writing songs or articles for anyone, your profile and gig description should be able to convince them that you are good at writing.

You've got a good grade in the test you did on Fiverr. Besides, you put the words together nicely. So, you may have what it takes to succeed as a writer.

But there are still tons of mistakes in your profile and gig descriptions. For instance, personal pronoun "I" should always be in capital letters, regardless of where they're in your sentence. Also, you used ellipsis (and whatever two dots mean) so many times in your descriptions. Similarly, your punctuations are poor.

Don't get worked up over this. Get Grammarly or any other related software and proofread your writings. And please, make your header, profile, and gig descriptions have some elements of professionalism. I hope you understand what I mean.

All the best.

Are they quality words? I just spent 2 days helping someone change their 500-word landing page. The quality was so good that they asked for help with their blog. Let's see how it goes.
I don't understand your message, ma'am.

NB: I didn't create the thread or promise to type 1,000 words in 10 minutes. I was only replying to the OP.

Lol. Are you a robot? How do you type 1,000 words in 10 minutes?
Besides, will you help them get orders on Fiverr or another platform?
You guys need to be realistic when describing freelancing works for newbies. Don't just paint pictures of an easy way to make money when you know that a larger percentage of them will frustratingly leave the platform after a few weeks or months without getting a single order.

Family / Re: Introverts Lounge (Extroverts Pls Keep Off !!) by Sard(m): 7:22am On Apr 29, 2020
Karleb:
Let me group Introverts into two groups:

Group 1: These ones have sold their soul to the eternal goddess of silence. They'll rather not talk even if talking was necessary. These are the types that can stay indoor for a year if they have the necessary amenities.

Group 2: These ones like quiet but not always, they secretly wish to be like their talkative friends. Some of them were even extroverts as a kid but only became introvert during adolescent.

They enjoy their me time quite well but they'll often come out of their shell from time to time to catch with the latest in their neighborhood.

I have no business with group 1 but I'm mostly concerned about the second group. They are the reason why I'm doing what I'm doing here.

Don't you think you are trying too hard on this thread?
You continue saying all the negative things about introverts and still think anyone will be willing to listen to you. Do you think that will ever work?
Why don't you just let people be?

On the thread, we've highlighted various things people can do to improve their social skills. Anyone that wants them will pick the needed information.

You don't have to continue saying vile words about introverts. Continue being an extrovert and let others be. No one needs your pity.

I am an introvert but I'm shocked by the stories I'm reading here. Alot of you actually need some psychological help, you're timid and a social misfit, probably due to abuse during childhood or something.
Introvert isn't timidity, neither is it being afraid of others. It's about enjoying your own time but interacting with others when need be.

Inability to interact with others at all is a psychological problem. One should seek medical help for such a problem. Introverts have friends and partners. I'm married and have couple of friends and loads of acquaintances.

I mostly spend time with myself but I don't also run away from people. I don't think a lot of you guys here are introverts. You are socially awkward. What I may term s social misfit. Please seek help quickly.

I also noticed people talking about being trampled on. I don't talk much, hardly interact deeply with acquaintances, neighbours, colleagues, workers etc but I notice I'm very highly respected. It seems nobody wants to offend me. They talk to me with so much respect, even those older than me that it baffles me. I still don't understand why. This has made me disregard the notion that quiet people are trampled on. The reverse has always been the case for me.

Well articulated!

At least, take a few minutes to read before commenting.
Osun State, under Oyetola, owes them money, not Oyo State. So, it's not Makinde's fault and won't make Constituited Authority laugh because it's his fellow APC member that's owing salary.

@Op.. This Oyetola has been useless since he was rigged into power. So, this is not surprising. Students should prepare for days at home.

God bless you brother. Thank you. The poster talks like someone whose tap in government has been shut off. Ajimobi this, Ajimobi that... So the new governor is expected to just starting signing contracts without a ground plan. He is expected to execute white elephants projects that contribute nothing to the lives of people? Seyi Makinde is paying pensions of people who have worked and retired from Oyo state. He is paying workers, regularly too. When workers have their salaries, the market women know, the entire state knows and money circulates. That is the first thing, psychologically, the people are balanced. He has plans for health and he is making strides in that. You dont have to like Makinde but he is the people's choice. And so far, he has proven to be a damn good one.

Amen bro.
We don't want someone who shares money. Pay the workers when due and everybody will get a share of it because the workers are not going to hoard the money. From there, start dealing with the infrastructure, and Seyi has shown that he has a roadmap for that.
I am super-grateful that I voted for this man.

Continue fooling around with this propanganda.Come to Oyo state and listen to peoples view on this very slow governor.75 percent of the project commissioned were Ajimobi and a Governor who never beliefs in infrastructure development but to pay salary of ghost workers and pensioners.Ajimobi is bad but Seyi is worst, a mature governor will not be saying those thrash he was saying yesterday.let him scan and show to the whole world the terms of contract that 65 percent of the contract fee goes to the governor and his wife.A governor who blames his predecessor for not performing is a useless Governor. To mark is 100 days ,he commissioned Ajimobi millennium schools,Ajimobi radiography facilities and many more.Personally, all his achievement were notebooks and coaching class for senior students with some ghost KIA no one as see on the road in Oyo state but on paper in makindes office.

Which Oyo State? The same Oyo state that we all stay or another one. BTW, who are those complaining? Perhaps they're greedy politicians who are expecting him to be sharing money.
No one, I say, no one is complaining about him. We go out every day too and no one complains.

Religion / Re: RCCG Church Built Under High Tension Mast In Lagos (Video, Photos) by Sard(m): 7:17pm On Sep 01, 2019
Lol.. Church bashing seems to be a trend nowadays.
Everybody suddenly becomes dumb and neglects the fact that the mast looks very much abandoned and unconnected (which has been confirmed by residents of the area). The mischievous blogger also did a good job in avoiding showing the top of the mast though. Also, everyone ignores the fact that it's almost impossible to build anything under a mast in such a condition. Furthermore, the <supposed> church itself looks abandoned, considering that the banner is almost falling out of place.
But it's fine. Let's have a party while bashing the church.

Height is overhyped in Africa. Especially Nigeria. This is a average height in the USA.

6'8" is not the average height in the US. Average height in US is just 5'9". So, he's very much taller than the average man in the US.
But I agree that his height is overhyped in Nigeria. Lots of people are around or above his height in other countries such Sweden, the Netherlands, Rwanda, Sudan, Denmark, US etc.

To be candid though, the two pastors who went to COZA never mentioned the word "CAN" in their speech. The man said "We are with you...."
"We" does not necessarily mean "CAN". While CAN can dissociate themselves from the visit, it does not mean the pastors were impersonating the authority of CAN. Make them calm down abeggiii.

Doctors in this forum I need answers to the questions below
1. Would a child resemble surrogate mother?
2.Would he/she share her DNA?
3. Who donates the sperm?
4. How fee do these women charge?

1. Resemblance is basically about the genes. So as long as the surrogate mother doesn't donate the eggs for fertilization, the baby can never resemble her in any form.

2. No, the baby can't share her DNA.

3. This depends on a few factors. If a man and woman hire the surrogate mother, the man will donate the sperm. So biologically the baby is his. Nevertheless, there are a few cases where the man's sperm are not viable, then someone else's sperm may be used.

4. I don't know anything about the payment structure.

Nigerians get problems, I swear.
Just look at the reasoning of a typical Nigerian in this thread. They are finding it hard to accept a simple wish of a dying woman.
Hardly will you see a Nigerian who's not overly religious, dumb-headed, or ignorant. A typical Nigerian will always find it hard to agree that everyone can have varying ideas or wishes. They'll always want you to align with their so-called ultimate idea, wish or thought. Una go dey alright.

You people and this entrepreneur bulllshit.
How many people on that list started with selling shoes/makeup/shirts and other items that most of you started with? These folks are usually from privileged backgrounds; they have access to lots of funds. Look at the Nigerian guy on the list - he started with helicopter business. You think that is a moi-moi business you can start with 100k??
Except you're going to start a mushroom business that will hardly feed you and your family, you'll need lots of funds which you will likely get through salary over years.
So, it's no crime to collect salary - whether for short or long term.

What are you talking about, bro?
Forbes doesn't rate naira millionaires, it only rates dollar millionaires. How many yahoo boys (since you mentioned them) have up to 365 million naira in their account, as properties or other forms?
Besides, why & how would they rate people with dubious source of income? Abeggi

Imogenn:
I really don’t know where all this stems from. I’ve always been that shy quiet kid from childhood. But it’s just gotten worse as I’ve transformed into adulthood.
Sometimes I feel I’m not adequate enough because I’m so quiet in a world full of confident people. I’m very conscious about my looks, as I’ve been told I’m ugly more than beautiful in my lifetime, that could be another reason. I feel everywhere I go, people must always have one negative/weird thing to say about me, so it’s just strange. I’m troubled.

This caught my attention. Well, most of us tend to reason/act like this, but yours seems to be on the extreme.
Foremost, let's get one thing clear - people don't think about "you" as much as you think they do. Everyone has a problem, so they're likely thinking about their problem than they're thinking about you.
So, when you're in a social gathering, have it at the back of your mind that you're not the center of the attraction. In fact, no one is looking at you. Everything is just playing out in your head.
Furthermore, you seem to have an inferiority complex. You believe you're not good enough - physically. Surprisingly, some of the most confident people I've seen are people whose physical appearance is average or below average. So, forget about your look and have a positive self-image. I'll advise you to dress well, wear a good perfume, take care of your teeth, and smile often, because all these can make people look beyond your supposedly deficient look.
Lastly, you need to go out more. Yes, go out more. It seems you're female. If so, your job is even simpler. Guys will approach you themselves, so just be open to having a conversation. It's just a good way to improve your social skills.
Like I said earlier, rest assured that people don't think/look at you as much as you think they do. Believe me.
