@swordsifter congrats once again. my spirit is now growing fat from rest. as I have always stressed on - "I am sure you can get it" but my amazment is the same corner stone (fuji) we rejected . I have laid hands on some lnbs for fringe reception, let's agree on a date and time to test their perfomances. Great job, kudos! |

Farwee: Man, it's been a long time I used strong receiver and know I have forgotten some lines but follow this; Press menu on your remote, On the very first line (I can't remember what is there, but it is from this point you can have access to do your blind scan or manual) - I think it's installation, Press Ok on ur remote, enter ur password, select dish settings, enter ok. it will open a "page" where you have satellite, lnb, diseqc etc on satellite, select your sat (eg. astra 2b) then select diseqc (by default it's off) use ur right and left buttons on ur remote to change it to diseqc 1.0 below it, you can assign the port on which you connected the astra2b sat on the physical diseqc so, if you connected say, astra 2b lnb to port 1 on the diseqc switch select 1 you will notice the corresponding action on the diseqc graphic on your screen too now press exit, you will be asked to save, confirm by pressing yes repeat the same procedure for the remaining sat In case there is any error or omission somewhere in the above, fellow sat mates here will help you out. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 5 - The Final Part) by sathob(m): 11:15am On Mar 20, 2011 |
@Farwee A diseqc switch is the answer. Go to your sat market, and tell them you want a 4 way diseqc switch (Strong brand - that is what i have always preferred). The diseqc switch will allow you to connect the 3 sat / lnbs and do the switching for you in addition. The 4 way means it can take a maximum of 4 sats, so u can add w3a if you want to. You will also notice that the 4 way diseqc has numbers written on it like lnb1, lnb2, lnb3, lnb4 and receiver. This is where you will connect your lnbs to, then connect the port labelled receiver to the LNB IN port at the back of your receiver . The next configuration is done in the box. cool! |

pitodenz: @pitodenz The new receiver is a terrestrial/satellite combo, the brand name is Quality, model is Quality HT S600. It is HD with HDMI port, has USB port, LAN port, composite and component AV connections. It does both CI and CA reading, supports aac but I don't know whether it can be patched, that, I may have to find out. getting it to Nigeria shouldn't be a problem, bro. |

swordswifter: I see it from the angle that they want to capture the market. Why will I go for two separate boxes when one can do all, I hope you get my point? Anyway, I have dispatched the box to its owner. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 5 - The Final Part) by sathob(m): 7:28pm On Mar 09, 2011 |
^^^^^^it does have all the above mentioned. i.e CA, CI and diseqc 1.0 and 1.1. It can do blind scan too. |

@all I should have posted this under the HD receiver thread, but because it's general info . The multi media team (Multi tv) has done it again. This time, they have come out with a Satellite + Terrestrial Combo HD digibox called MultiTv Plus. I laid my hands on one, it's user friendly and easy to set up and of course affordable at GHC185 which converts to about $118. I think the brand name is Quality HT S600. I have uploaded pic for the eyes.

agitator: Trust me man, trust me! There is no software to convert the Standard Definition Receiver (4652) to High Definition Compatible. Unless I don't really understand your post. People have even rumored here that there is the possibility of changing, with software an MPEG 2 receiver to MPEG 4 yet there has been no proof. The tech involved here is not only software, but hardware too. If any brother in the house has it, I plead with them to bring the software out! The HD channel is not showing because the hardware to make it happen isn't present in the box (4652). Take for example the Multi-tv channels on Astra 2B, they can be gotten with the 4652 receiver but you cannot have picture cleared. This is because the channels are simply transmitted in MPEG4 format while the 4652 is an MPEG2 receiver that has hardware to decode or process channels transmitted in MPEG2 , but the audio remains in a format compatible with MPEG2 receivers that is why we get the audio for those channels on the MPEG2 (4652) receiver. This is why I used the VCD and DVD analogy! Man, if the HD channel you are talking about on 13E is even active and clear, with a Standard Definition receiver, it won't clear (show video or produce audio) on your screen. And if it is clearing with keys, input keys from the keys site in your 4652 and test it to convince yourself. Or, let any member living around you help you with their HD receiver to test it, you will see for your self all the above explanation. one love, one people! |

Well, I would keep shut my eyes and every sense of mine when you make posts but I wont keep quit nairaland, this thread is in my blood and part of me, I read every sense and nonsense posted here morning and evening. Read all my posts! Read my post very carefully and tell me where it ridicules you or your intelligence or which one does not answer your babe question, or are you acting according to your avatar which keeps shooting indiscriminately? rastafari |

For those of us who don't really get it, when it is said that there are rules governing this house, please read the following which are sections of the rules ironed out by Seun you can get the full rules here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-1026.0.html -Illegal actions are strictly prohibited. This includes piracy, cracking, e.g. creating and distributing trojans and viruses, browsing cheats, etc. Nairaland must not be used to break the law NO PERSONAL ATTACKS OR PUBLIC FIGHTS "Nairaland is a discussion forum, and it is inevitable that disagreements will crop up from time to time. Please be nice and respectful to other members at all times and do not resort to personal attacks, false accusations, name-calling, and other unproductive forms of communication. If you are upset with another member of the forum you must settle the fight outside the forum. You must not carry out any 'fights' on the open forum. 'Fights' are not allowed." It is for this reason, I suggest that we call for another (second) moderator to assist Twinstaiye to immediately take action (by warning or deleting posts of such members) whilst Twinstaiye focus' on other things. George, Microgiant, Fofo, etc are fit for this I once ignorantly, made a post in the file section on one of the foreign forums and within 10min my post was removed with a reason. I contacted the moderator of the thread by pm to give me the needed assistance. Please let's emulate such discipline and sanity will come to this second home to some of us. To help the moderator deal with some of these issues lets do our best to report some of these "law breaking posts" by using "the report to moderator' link. Shine Africa, Happy New Year @twinstaiye Thanx for your assistance |

Hmmm! Happy new year to you all. This is a post I tried to send yesterday but wasn't successful because of a temporal ban. Anyway, I have to go on. I am not happy with the way we have ignored the rules that govern this house. This is is the very deliberate ignorance that has kept our continent in the dark, someway. Because of this I am of the opinion that we vote or appoint one more moderator to assist Twinstaiye in this very happy cyber home. For those of us who are ignorant of the rules that govern nairaland in general read the following from Seun:- MISCELLANEOUS - You may not bully a fellow Nairalander. This applied to old members too. Violation -> ban. - Illegal actions are strictly prohibited. This includes piracy, cracking e.g. creating and distributing trojans and viruses, browsing cheats, etc. Nairaland must not be used to break the law - You may not post a link or an advert or any topic more than once - The use of multiple accounts without explicit permission of the forum administrator(s) is prohibited. - Manual signatures inserted in the body of posts are not allowed. Use the forum profile to insert signatures. - Affiliate links, questionable investment schemes, MLM, HYIP, & get-rich-quick schemes are not allowed. |

@All Happy new year to all. My concern for this lovely cyber home and recent events on the previous and current pages prick me so hard that I wish to call for a SECOND moderator to assist Twinstaiye. One thing that has also kept Africa in the dark age is the refusal for us to observe and respect the law (rules that govern our society) and applying the penalties when they are broken. Relating this to where i call my cyber home (sat. tech thread on nairaland) lots have happened and gone either unnoticed or ignored. I know some of the offence are deliberate and other are committed ignorantly. OK! Just read the following rules outlined and examine where it applies to us MISCELLANEOUS - You may not bully a fellow Nairalander. - Disturbing, disgusting, or irritating pictures are not allowed. Violation attracts a very harsh ban. - It is a grievous offence to announce the death of a Nairaland member on the forum without the admin's explicit approval - Animated signatures, moving signatures, or image signatures more than 20 pixels tall are forbidden. - The location in your profile must be the country, state or town you currenty live in - if you're active. - The invasion of another user's privacy is now strictly prohibited - example: posting a lady's full name. - Any attempt to bypass the word censor is AGAINST forum rules and will warrant a ban. - Avoid posting using all capital letters, not only are capital letters difficult to read but they are associated with shouting and considered rude. - Thou shalt not deliberately post false information. a typical eg. of the bold text in red is when enitan and badaru's pix were posted here, poster went unpunished and the bold text in blue color is very obvious in recent times Now check this one too NO PERSONAL ATTACKS OR PUBLIC FIGHTS[/font] Nairaland is a discussion forum, and it is inevitable that disagreements with crop up from time to time. Please be nice and respectful to other members at all times and do not resort to personal attacks, false accusations, name-calling, and other unproductive forms of communication. If you are upset with another member of the forum you must settle the fight outside the forum. You must not carry out any 'fights' on the open forum. 'Fights' are not allowed. I once ignorantly posted a question in the file section in one of the foreign sat forums, and within the next 10 mins my post has been deleted with a reason. I contacted the moderator by pm and he accordingly replied with a link where the post belong. I will also suggest that these abuses be reported to the moderator since he might not be in the position to see every single post made here. I strongly, request that a reliable person is voted to assist the moderator and this person will be assigned the responsibility of enforcing the laws that govern this house. George, fofo microgiant etc correct my errors. |
