@Paps1
good job done, nailing w6 on both dish sizes. With regards to the receiver update, pls. make sure u have software from trusted site and that u have, also, the right software version for your receiver – it’s a long time I heard “fried”. 4663x has some similarities with 4653x but the pvr, so you can try the ff.
unzip the file and load it on the flash drive
Insert the drive and then select menu on ur srt4663x remote
Select usb, confirm ok and select data transfer.
Confirm ok to open the pen drive and the select the update file and confirm ok.
At this period make sure the power supply to receiver is not turned off. The receiver will tell you that too.
When the update is done the receiver will reboot itself. And you r done!

@enitan
I wondered whether that word meant what it means in Ghana, and I think it's the same. I understand truly some people in Ghana migrated from Nigeria because of the similarities in words and meaning. you are tooooooooo bold grin grin
Even with my 98% signal quality my crtv sometimes crack. CRTV is owned by crown royal television network, it’s not part of the multi media package. They provide different packages one can subscribe to, starting from GH₵150.00.
Platinum pearl (35 channels), silver (45), platinum gold (60), diamond special (customised channel), diamond x’tra (tailor-made product), platinum titanium (150) and platinum diamond (up to 200 channels).
There is no monthly subscription and the package comes with free installation.
These are some of the channels in the platinum pearl package
Gospels
Day Star, Love World, DBN, Hope, Solid Rock, Emmanuel Tv

Sports
CRTV Sports, European Sports, African Championship, Sports Pro, Global Sports, e-sports and many more (in-fact, I don’t know these channels)

Movies & Entertainment
CRTV movies, TV 5, V-Africa, e-movies & many more

Real Lifestyle

CRTV Realities, Supreme Master, LC2, e-Showbiz and many more

The CRTV we are receiving is one of their proprietary channels.

@Spacevice, paps1,raw-unkat, Blackstar
If you have space, why not try badr 4/6 it’s pretty attractive. I’m bleeding inside to try those but space is limiting me now, though I live in a very big spacious house with clear east and west views. I encourage you all to try it.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 12:06pm On Aug 09, 2009
@idyday,
Congrats, but for now the answer to your question is No. the only channels you can get is CRTV and LM.TV the rest are those mpeg4 channels owned by multi-tv.

@vickoy23
I do not have an account with GT bank, but they have a network for West Africa and one can easily transfer money across boundaries in the sub region like western union does.
The multi-tv digibox + dish and installation is what costs, from, GH₵250.00 officially, the box alone costs GH₵150.00.
ABC transport says they charge GH₵2.00 per kilo for the box, when I described to them the item I want to send. I want to be very sure, so I am carrying an empty paper box for them to see what I am referring to.

@captain
Thanx for the reply, it really helps.

@dorg3
I think captain’s last post answers the question. Practically, I have never thought of nailing w6.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 6:34pm On Aug 08, 2009
@emyestan
NO! the daarsat box doesn't have blindscan function.

@pitodenz
thanx for the assistance the other day, I never forgot that.

@Adewest,
Thank you for the response.

@Captain
Have you been able to nail w6, since you have quite a bigger dish?
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 11:02am On Aug 08, 2009
@Adewest
Yes sir! ten press ups for you.  How much is the subscription for daarsat.
you know each day comes with its own challenges, so does the year. i have you in mind for that project.

i thank God those manipulating things supposed to be fta in our region have no such power to manipulate the mighty 7 dgress west.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 9:58pm On Aug 07, 2009
@spacevice
yes, u can use the multi-tv digibox for other satellites. I just inserted the crtv freq. and it worked. you can do same for other birds, it's just like strong the only set back is it's inability to blindscan.

@buben
Yes! It’s GH₵2.00 per kilogramme, so it’s GH₵10.00 if the box weighs 5 kg. I was asked to describe the item to send. I just told them it’s a satellite receiver, it can be likened to a DVD player in a box, and then I was told GH₵ 2.00.

@salamander
You are right about e.tv. your idea about the batter trade is a smart. I will like to trade a multi digibox for a daarsat box but that‘ll be when I’m prepared for the daasat boxr. We need to study the multi tv box to know what else it can do like patch etc. I believe it’s a clone of some other boxes; it’s not of its own.

@Ecowas4all
Oh boss! Long time, I know why, but you just drop a line. You may not have seen my post all this while because just when I thought I was having a breakthrough with my mesh to solid experiment a bad wind blew. My landlord picked up an issue with me and the end result was “leave my house”. Before that event, I had arranged for a 3m mesh which the owner has asked me to pick up, though it’s the skeleton but it’s just enough for my experiment. This occurred to me as a big blow since there is no way I can freely or happily do my fta thingy. So, should you want to know about my project, it’s just on hold for now.

@captain
Do you know 2m on W6 is picked up on 90cm dish in Ashanti region? This is why I want our people who benefit from this thread to contribute because others have the info and are sitting on it. you know the cemetry is another rich bank of great knowlegde because people did not share knowledge and died with it.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 4:44pm On Aug 07, 2009
@enitan
I get you. Lol. U may soon join the league. I welcome you back from the jungle and to the thread

@ george_d
I don’t have anything in particular with the daarsat receiver, just that I may want to have because it comes with their card ( I may subscribe to it). This must sound weird for an fta enthusiast.

@captain
Your info confirms what I have contemplated but dared not to talk about on this forum because I couldn't substantiate. But to those who I have shared this thought of suspicion, should they read or hear this info I may proven right. tanx for the info

@all
I found out from ABC transport that the charge per kilogramme of small items such as the receiver is GH₵2.00. I hope this info helps.

This is my call to fellow brethren in Ghana who read this thread but do not contribute anything to it that it's high time to add your voice to this thread . Just share what you know or have experienced during installation or any other fta related activity. I know a lot of you guyz out there who just pick infos from here to make a living out of. Just share what you experience to help build a formidable source of satellite infos.
people in other parts up north, kumasi, sunyani,tamale please register and add your piece.

I thank God for His deliverance for your family. I pray for His healing from any effects of trauma. May , each member be covered by the blood of the Lamb and protected by strong and powerful angels.

About multi-tv, I had the opportunity to work on one, the features are similar to what was written about darsat. one can input frequencies, sr, select satellites of your choice, configure diseqc, parental control etc. but it has no blind scan. I did't see anything like HD incsribed on the box
I had ten channels alright but couldn't get any radio.

The service is for free, and they intend to add more channels to their bouquet in the future I hear up to 200, and that will come with a token from customers. However, that does not mean that one will not have access to the free channels. it's truely free from my findings. if this is a lie then the agent has lied to me and i will hold him for passing wrong info to me. I spoke with one of their "big men" too.

@all
should anyone need multi-tv digi box, the price is GH150 though some are selling it at different prices in ghana. yesterday iwent to one shop it was GH160 another shop was GH180 but I bought one somewhere else at GH150. One means of transporting it to Nigeria is trhough ABC transport. The money can be sent through GT bank to any member of your choice and trust in Ghana. I will verify from ABC transport in Ghana how much will it cost to carry the box to Nigeria. vist this site for currency conversion _http://coinmill.com/GHS_NGN.html#GHS=150

@george_d, fofo, all
Can you find out the cost of transporting daarsat receiver through ABC transport, I don't know why, I will prefer to have a daarsat box too.

longtime sir! this is the 3rd post i am sending to this thread, it surprises me that i don't see my post. this is because, i could see the post after i'd clicked on the reply tab. I logout and then login another time only not to find the post which also means nobody has seen it. anyway, i am sending this post form another pc.
I am working tirelessly on the mesh project, it's only been kind of rough securing the big size i want (4m) and above. but i will make do with what i lay hands on.
i will give you a call.

my greetings to all members both home and elsewhere.

@ecowas4all
Oh boss, long time. the truth is I gaining positive grounds for that move, I must confess it is not an easy thing in terms
of acquiring a mesh of the size that can pull down out of footprint birds. we will talk more about this, sir.

the first number for Richie is not complete can u pls send that again.

@raw-unkat
hi-tv, officially, cannot operate in ghana but there is away out, i know some people who subscribed to it. 3m pan is not common but fibre and mesh you can get it. crtv has a minimum package of 35 channels and initial cost of setting up is 350 ghana cedis.
multimedia tv (joy tv etc) are in operation, you can get their box at 150 ghana cedis and they have about 10 channels no monthly subscription. i am hot now and will contact u later. u can drop a mail at signalbit@yahoo.com

all
big greetings,
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 12:42pm On Jun 24, 2009
Hi all

If I am not mistaking, I think CRTV and Multimedia are two different service providers. I phoned CRTV some months back at the time pito broke the news (there was advert on the air waves). They provide around 200 channels and charge about 50K inclusive installation. They have been in operation some months back. I think they just put one FTA channel for ad.

Multimedia TV as mentioned by blakstars, provides a 10 channel package as advertised on their HITZ TV, audio only channel. They just happen to be transmitting through the same bird 28.2 E as CRTV.

I stand to be corrected.

Yesternight, I tried to nail this CRTV stuff, so, I entered the frequency 12599V 3250 in the Astra 2ABD satellite on my receiver (strong 4653x). I did close to an hour of tracking but there was no green. Then I decided to put in the same freq. values into Eurobird 2, and pa, there was green. CRTV was around 82%, I also got the Nhyira, Joy TV & etc but lmtv, as mentioned by dejsam and captain earlier, not even after several blind scans. The weather is bad, so ‘ll wait for a clear weather to try the lmtv.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 4:56pm On Jun 17, 2009
@Viscky44
In Accra, you will need a dish of 4m size to track nilesat (showsport and stuff are on nilesat), the position in orbit is 7degrees west. psoition could mean two things, your postion using a comapss will be 235.58 degrees clockwise from the north. Facing your dish at this direction should bring it out with an elevation of 79.65 degrees. These are theoritical figures but they will help a great deal. However, being very new to FTA means that it will do you more good to read the seasons 1 & 2 and most questions will be answered. If you still find anything difficult get back to us please.
cheers cheesy

You haven't missed anything from reference. Olason must have been alarmed by the mentioning of that name. but that name was only mentioned by george_D in a question and, i don't think that is wrong.
