The anger of a Nigerian woman can burn down a country. She most likely a divorced, single embittered feminist, chased out of her husband's house by an act of infidelity. Kudos to the gentle police officer for his maturity. The woman would smell her yansh in jail.

It's no longer the police that are assaulting civilians, it's now civilians assaulting police officers. Police sef don learn the act of video recording.

They reason; if civilians use video evidence against us, why can't we also use it against them?

What actually transpired that made the woman react like that?
Why is nobody asking why the police officer said he will shoot the woman?

If your aim is to study only, then of course you'll never go wrong with any Nordics countries. Apart from English, I don't see how UK or Canada is better.

But if you aim is to jakpa, then I'm not sure if Norway offers a route to that. There is a Norwegian thread here on the travel section, post your questions there.

The good thing about Norway is that it's the only Nordic countries that still offers free tuition for non-eu citizens. So if you luckily get admission, then school is free for you.

I plan to japa, yes, but my japa is not a desperate one.

Since I'm already delving into tech, I plan studying computer science. By the time I will be graduating, I should have been grounded and excellent at programming. With that, it would be easy for me to get a job after graduation.

I'll still do my research, if Norway is ideal, I'll start pushing it and saving for it since funding is the koko. I just want to go to a good country that has quality and inexpensive education. By the way, thanks chief.

Because of how much this thread has trended, I'll drop one sure route of how to live in any eu countries as a family without hassle permanently. This route works well with a couple.

Instead of paying millions upon millions to go study in the UK without assurance of permanently stay, apply to study in Portugal instead. Then you and your wife would be giving student visa and any child born in portugal becomes Portuguese citizen at birth if the parents have lived in Portugal for at least one year.

And as the parent of a Portuguese child (also an eu citizen), you can move and live in any country in the eu with your child. It's not a privilege, its a right. It's far far cheaper to study in lots of countries. Why do people kill themselves with the UK?

Especially that the UK in practice drafted cunning laws to kick you out when you're done studying. Please operate an independent mind when travelling. Don't just follow others. Search each countries nationality law, see what it takes to be a citizen and fashion your plan towards that. Survival journey is not for the reckless.

I know someone whom I adviced five years ago that went through this route, and now is chilling and living large in Ireland, without the hassle of visa and all the harsh rules associated with it. As a parent of an eu citizens, you're basically a citizen yourself in practice just that you can apply for citizenship in maybe five years time.

If you also want to study, then take your eu child to any Scandinavian countries, where education is free. Establish your residence there and study foe free, live without fear of immigration and a straight pathway to citizenship. God touch my mind today normally I don't give this kind of information.

Chief panso, what are your thoughts and suggestions about schooling in Norway? From the little research I've done, Norway, Poland and Estonia seem like nice options, but I'm particular about Norway. Since you've had experience schooling and living in Nordic countries, you're gonna have firsthand information, and are in a position to give the most pragmatic advice.

pansophist:
Don't be rude o, that's ineffective. If you are rude to the wrong person, them go just mess you up. An effective way to become invincible to everyone is to be completely useless to them.

I once talked to a street beggar out of curiosity, asking him what's the most painful thing about his job, I was thinking he'll say its is that most people don't give him money, but his answer shocked me.

He said the most depressing thing about begging is his invincibility to most people. Of course he didn't say it like I phrased it, but this is what he meant.

People don't even look or acknowledge his presence. He can stand your refusal to give, but you actually have to see, hear him first before you can give/refuse. Invincibility was hell.

He was invincible because he poses absolutely no benefit whatsoever to those he is begging from, and they avoided him like plague. So this formula will work for you. Just be useless to everyone.

Chief I see you've been mixing the words "invincible" and "invisible" for quite some time now. They are different words with different meaning.

Invincible means undefeatable while invisible means something that cannot be seen with the eye, which is what I think you mean in this context.

I'm sorry bro but that's just bullsh**t to be honest...We have to police in Tech so it doesn't go the way of others especially when those who don't know better think there's some flamboyance in the area only to find out how harrowing and difficult it is, then they fall out and disabuse the minds of some young tech talents out there, to believe that tech is an impossibility.... Stick to your field, at least there you are cossetted and worshipped but here in Tech, its a field for pioneers, adventurers and the brave heart...Like the wild wild west ,It's for those with passion, hunger for success especially when they have nothing and you think your medical degree gives you a hall pass? f**k no. You're going to get crushed and broken, don't say you weren't warned.

He's not just an employee but a major shareholder of the company. You can't rise to that position without being a shareholder/investor. CEO of Google is not something they can give to just anyone. You have to be a major shareholder, one that has something to lose.

Career / Re: Is Studying Engineering Now A Scam In Nigeria by SavageBoy: 9:15am On Aug 29, 2022
Gerrard59:

If you can't do computer science, study mathematics. Most engineering grads have ventured into tech because of the poor career prospects and low pay. Mind you, this is a global phenomenon (engineering grads pivot to finance, tech and consulting because of the meagre salaries for their jobs. Their numerical skills are a great advantage in those industries). For instance, most MBA students these days had their first degree in an engineering discipline. Additionally, you need to read the wailing by engineering grads on Reddit from all over the world especially in countries with low manufacturing contribution to the national GDP. Where engineers have great prospects are China, Japan and South Korea, but then, they earn less compared tech bros or finance grads. In Singapore, engineering grads enter the finance or tech industry because of higher salaries. Mind you, Singapore has an advanced manufacturing sector (https://www.wsj.com/articles/singapore-manufacturing-factory-automation-11655488002) with great universities and a strong math foundation for secondary school pupils.

Studying an engineering course in Nigeria that doesn't have a strong mid-tier manufacturing sector considering the plethora of universities and polytechnics offering sub-disciplines makes no sense to me. My major issue is ASUU strikes & associated internal school problems. What this means is that, your colleagues in mathematics, physics, chemistry are done while you are at risk of spending a year or two. Most developed countries don't offer five years for engineering but Nigeria does, another thing that is senseless to me.

In summary, choose mathematics or physics, make a stellar grade and japa for further studies. A lad who came pleading for travel funds on TwitterNG studied Physics both BSc and MSc and got a fully funded assistantship to do his PhD in Aeronautical Engineering. If it's tech you see yourself, computer science or mathematics will do you great help. Again, with mathematics or physics, you can can enter the finance industry.

Remember, passion cannot pay house rent or buy you food. Also, you're residing in Africa's poverty capital.

@Op look into this comment. There's a lot of sense here

I can imagine how lonely it could be most especially during the winter period. Though Canada is much better than Nigeria, I would rather relocate to Brazil. I really feel for our single Nigerian sisters there, e no go easy for una oh
