Anyways, the school I graduated from really suffocated cultist and they were literally powerless on Campus. they fit only do you something if you comot outside campus and Campus big to get everything you want without stepping out. well of course, if you no be Sampson wey like woman.

My school had vegetable cultist wey dey always beg lecturer and dey everly hide to if Abęfęlę dey patrol

My fellow uite, I greet you 🥳

I spent about 3 years in UI before leaving to study in Uniben. Honestly, UI is on a class of its own.

I never knew until I came to Uniben. Both their academic standard and internal security is far much better than Uniben.

But well, I'm just threading carefully here. Cult shit here is no joke. Imagine having three different cult attacks on campus in one single evening. That's how serious it is.

I really miss UI🥺

Seun:
Dear Nairalanders and Advertisers.

Nairaland's server was taken down by our host's abuse team because of an abuse report that wasn't attended to on time.

After rectifying the error, we brought the server back for a few minutes, but they decided to take the server down again. Since then, we haven't heard from the abuse team, yet the support team keeps insisting that only the abuse team can help us.

So we had to transfer Nairaland to a temporary host in order to bring it back to you. A VERY time-consuming process. We are not fully back, even though most features of the site are working. We still have a long way to go. Additional downtime is likely; don't let it alarm you.

There's a lot more to say, but I have to go back to work to ensure that our return is permanent. Please forgive us for the stress we caused. We appreciate the love and support that you showed us during the ordeal. Nairaland is too important for us to let this happen again.

Best Regards,
Seun Osewa.

@Seun go and clean up your programming section. It's a very big mess

Programming / Re: Where Are Those People Making Noise About ALX And Doing Hard Things . by SavageBoy: 7:43am On Nov 06, 2023
Many persons who enroll in programs like Alx, Altschool, and co often have unrealistic expectations about what to expect in the field of tech.

I was among the first batch of students that registered for Altschool. A lot of folks who enrolled for the program had really massive constructive imaginations.

Some were talking about getting a $10K/month job after graduation. One even said he can't wait to start working in Google by the time he gets his Altschool diploma 😂

When th program began, we just saw that it wasn't worth the social media hype it had. Many of us had to voluntarily stop to be more effective in our learning.

I don't know of Alx, but from the little I've gotten from folks who took the program, I think they did a great job. At least were much better than Altschool.

All in all, success in tech still boils down to one's personal effort, dedication, and consistency. I don't really subscribe to these naija bootcamps or whatever they call them.

Travel / Re: Seeking Honest Advice: Considering Relocating Abroad - Need Your Thoughts by SavageBoy: 1:15pm On Jul 27, 2023
franchasofficia:
Your situation is very dicey in the sense that you havent been doing business, starting one now when Nigeria has almost gone to the baboons, hyenas and jackals won't be an easy one. You may end up wasting the 20million savings trying to figure out the business and before you understand the business secrets, you may have folded up.

What does your wife do?

How about relocating alone first to countries like; Finland, Norway, or other unpopular Scandinavian countries for a masters? Finland have a very affordable masters programme for international students, Norway used to be tuition free for Nigerians not until this year they started charging high tuition fee if not, Norway would have been your best bet cos there are plenty jobs, I have people there.

Make more research about studying masters in Finland, etc. If it would cost you 10million to relocate alone, try it and use 6million to setup a pharmacy shop for your wife before you relocate.

But if that route will cost you more then try the next suggestions below:

Map out 10million and setup a pharmacy shop. Your wife will need go on an internship at any pharmacy shop for some months before yours is fully ready to get an idea of how to run the biz with the registered pharmacist you guys would employ.

Setup a small office for yourself to start consulting as a Chartered Accountant. Print good business cards and proposals and submit to supermarket owners, etc to help them organize their stock and bookkeeping, with time you will start getting jobs. Also add external auditing to your portfolio of what you can do.

Create a linkedin profile on this new business of consulting. Inform friends, Church members, clique about your new consulting firm.

Save 7million in a dollar account and keep 3million for running family for now.

Start now to guide your kids to love nursing, medicine, radiography, pharmacy, software engineering, etc. This will prepare them to face future with greater chance of survival.

May God see you through and please don't panic, you are still on top, fear will push you into depression and cause you to start making irrational and foolish decisions that will ruin your years of hardwork.

Remember you are still better than over 150million Nigerians out there.

I pray God guide you to make the best decision at this critical time, amen

This is filled with so much sense

@op pls look seriously into implementing this guy's suggestion.

Education / Re: UK Schools Teach Kids LGBT, To Masturbate For Homework & Have Anal Sex(Pictures) by SavageBoy: 2:01am On Jun 19, 2023
pansophist:
Na today? I only pity those that decides to raise a family in the West. Yes you'll get the material satisfaction, but you'll sell your soul as a consequence.

You'll have no control over your kids, since the government and school does. You can't discipline your kids, you'll be punished for that. If your wife is a lowkey demon on hibernation, the system gives her all the power to unmask and punish you.

You'll eat unhealthy junk foods. Even the so called fruits is not sweet. You'll be led by leaders that constantly destroy other parts of the world to maintain the Western lifestyle you're used to.

Seeing letters from the postman will always give you a heart attack because it might be the tax man asking you to pay something back. You'll be expected to partake in the lie and pretend a man that cut his deek off is a woman.

That a woman who cuts her brest off with a plastic deek is a dude. If I go to my doctor and say that I think I'm a white man, they'll think I'm stupid.

But if I tell the same doctor that I think I'm a woman, they'll clap and call me courageous for coming out, then bill me, butcher off my deek and inject my system with all kinds of hormones.

If you don't want to date a trans, you'll be called transphobic, a close minded idiot that shouldn't live in the modern world. Even admiring the beauty of a lady can make her sue you for sexual harassment.

But it doesn't work the other way around. You can't sue a woman for sexual harassment. Women are your boss de facto, it's not written in the law, but in practice, that's how it goes.

I can write freely on naira land here, at most, mod will ban you. Write like that in the West and some idiot wants you to loose your job. Their so called freedom of speech is basically freedom to speak the official narrative, and not from your heart.

You legally can't marry more than one wife/husband, but you can fork as many as you want, de facto polygamy.

A girl that in one hand, will say men are sexually objectifying her, but same girl is on onlyfans objectifying herself for cash. When cash is involved, is business, not objectification.

Should I continue ? Western world don cast. Sha move there if you are a mindless robot that shiny things are enough to make you happy. But if you crave a deeper meaning in life, there are many places that can give you that.

Boss, for where you go come raise your family??

Redoil:
Such lecturers are most times above the laws of the school and the laws of the land. She should tell the lecturer that she is engage and everything will end

I second this. Let it look like the OP sister is engaged to a military personnel. If it means buying fake engagement ring and possibly using the soldier's pic as her dp, let her do so.

To further make this look very real, let the OP's sister come with her so-called military boyfriend to greet the man in his office on a good day. This way, the girl won't look very vulnerable to the useless prof, as he will respect himself.

If the OP's sister want to cast the man publicly, it may backfire, in the sense that other colleagues of the man may deliberately choose to fail her and make life difficult for her.

That's what happened to the OAU Prof that was caught in the sex for grade scandal that year. Other colleagues of the prof decided to make life miserable for the said masters student.

Romance / Re: How To Reduce Hook-ups In Nigeria by SavageBoy: 8:52am On May 15, 2023
CaveAdullam:

1. Prostitution is an age-long profession. It can only be limited but can't be eradicated.

Prostitutes meet the demands for sex, both for men occupying the totem pole of society and the peasants fighting for crumbs at the bottom.
Prostitutes are for the lower men in the real sense since the men can't easily attract women because of their position in the hierarchy.

2. The proliferation of prostitution today is because of the liberal culture comprising people who have no religion and fear no GOD.
Religious laws have always helped checkmate human extremities.

Whether God exists or doesn't exists is not the debate here. The laws of God matter despite the fairy tales, myths, and allegories.

3. Societal decline takes various shapes. Prostitution is just a part of it.

What about cybercrime?
What about corrupt leaders?
What about sycophants?
What about vicious people?
What about weak-minded and complacent people?
What about the dumb and slug?
What about the drug dealers?
What about the transgressors?

4. Prostitution has a negative ripple effect in society, however, it poses less of a problem when compared with the aforementioned.

To be candid, prostitutes are not the problem of any decayed society; prostitution is a symptom and consequence of that decay, not the cause.

5. There is a moral deficiency in our society today. Immorality is being glorified. Integrity, truthfulness, humility, honesty, and braveness are being disdained.
Meanwhile, society shapes itself to what the people applaud and pass the batons to the next generation.

6. You can't tell the buyer not to buy fruit when you're selling fruits. And you sell fruits because you want the buyer's money. Prostitutes want money; men want sex. It is a simple exchange.

7. Sex is a common feature in the kingdom Animalia. No matter the restrictions placed, there will always be one man, one woman, one boy, or one girl that will still maneuver the restriction and have sex outside a defined relationship or marriage.
Drug dealers come to mind despite the jail sentences or death penalty if found culpable.

8. Prostitution is prolific in nations with poor economies; sex becomes a game of survival.

Prostitutes offer sex because they want money since no man can cater to their needs. Men want to have sex because of their high libido and it correlates with the act of passing their genes had it been they have their spouses they are cuddling by their bedsides.

9. To limit prostitution in underdeveloped nations, the economy of that nation must be improved. Then, men can live up to their standards and cater to their women and practice an agreed polygamous marriage. And women will choose better jobs or have resourceful men that will take care of them rather than opt for prostitution.

10. In developed nations, prostitutes reign because of a lack of morals. If there are more moral individuals who occupy top positions and know the effects of prostitution and promiscuity, especially on women, it will reduce.

11. No man can ban prostitution. The highest is haunting cathouses. And If it happens, trust me, many women will become sellers in the market while men will visit the market more. The church can be used as a place of contact and exchange. Even shopping malls, libraries, and event centers. The business is now stealthy and will become more expensive - compare this with hard drugs.

12. Incessant promiscuity damages both men and women and society at large.

Once society gets better by having better people just like Lee Kwan Yew, former prime minister of Singapore, and the people are enlightened about the long-term consequences of promiscuity and promiscuity not tolerated or applauded, prostitution will reduce to the ground.

Thanks.

That useless feelings or heartbreak or sadness or whatever you are passing through now will be nothing compared to the pain you will pass through if you bring her abroad.

This is how a man suffers for being weak. Women do not reward niceness, they punish it. If you like, give her a billion dollars, you can't buy that girl's heart.

Acceptance is something you must incorporate into your life, and let things flow naturally. That girl doesn't love you, will never love you, and cannot love you. Accept this, cut your loss, and move on.

Also, you are in the Netherlands, girls are everywhere there. If you are a good young man and can work on your looks/fitness, you will never lack women here. You have to take care of yourself and stop being stupid.

I hate when people suffer unnecessarily, especially when the suffering is self-imposed. The energy you are giving out is feminine energy, to be obsessive about someone. That shit is not masculine.

Your suffering is self-imposed because you are loving wrongly. If I choose to put a snake in my house, should people pity me if it bites me? Of course not, they will call me an idiot. Block that girl and move on. Bro. BLOCK THAT GIRL AND MOVE ON!!! ARRRGGH.

Chief, calm down. I can feel your anger as you wrote this😂

Even AI the same thing. People aren't getting jobs again. I follow a lot of people on LinkedIn and there's a guy I follow dude has PhD in ai from even MIT. He got laid off from Google and couldnt get a job in the 60 day h1b tenure and had to go back to his country. In his country too he has not found a job. There's no safe tech skill. If you have a foreign passport it's different than if you are from a third world country. Aside a few top tech firms, a lot of AI jobs especially in a country like the USA are government based. You would need a USA passport with security clearance to get those jobs.

So, what's your advice for newbies who are just getting started with tech?

I'm making progress in front end web dev, but something is telling me to abandon it and focus on technical writing whilst learning DSA.

I've earned considerable well with writing, earned more than $1K as a freelance writer.

Tech is beginning to lose its shiny appeal, like it used to have. Scaling and succeeding in tech is becoming increasingly difficult for we Africans.

I gave up on Nigeria years ago. So, in your minds, you all thought it was going to be a free and fair election? People were even overjoyed when the BVAS technology was introduced. I laugh so hard. Let Blockchain technology be introduced in the next election for voting, it will still be compromised. The best hacker will win. In this game, it's the survival of the fastest to ‘rig’ massively. You can't play the game? OYO.

Nigerian politics is dirty and the earlier you understood that, the better for you folks. There's nothing like free and fair elections in Nigeria. Nothing concerns me about who wins. Whoever wins, my ‘japa’ plans still stands. Nigeria will and can never be better. Never been a patriot anyway. The country can go in shambles for all I care.

Programming / Re: Advice To Newbies: Coding Is Very Hard!!! by SavageBoy: 9:50am On Jan 29, 2023
For a fact, coding is hard. But you saying coding is tougher than medicine is WRONG.

Why do you think folks who were known as the most intelligent in secondary school often get humbled by medicine. And many of them even struggle not to be kicked out from med school.

No matter how complex machine learning as a field is, its complexity is nothing compared to a field like neurosurgery or cardiology.

Why is the path to becoming a doctor a long and rigorous one? Why aren't doctors made in 9 months to 2 years.

You're just an advanced learner in this thing called coding. You must have learned one or two during your self-taught coding journey.

All you have to do is just encourage complete newbies never to come with a mindset that coding is an easy-peasy get rich quick scheme.

And like what Caveadullam once said in his post. Anything hard can be made simple by increasing the amount of time you spend learning that thing. It's true with coding and medicine.

Damn sorry op. You really write so well. Have you considered taking up a career that involves writing. I know it will not pay much but at least I am sure it will pay better than the bricklaying job

And the OP writes well. OP give a serious thought to writing. If you have the remarkable ability to understand and explain complex things, you might consider technical writing. It's gonna pay you very well.

However, if you feel family demands and responsibilities will not allow you to be patient enough with it, then you could consider getting a keke maruwa hire purchase, or maybe a Toyota(hire purchase) and use it for uber/taxify. That's if you can drive. At least this will keep you going. Sorry for the accident.

Also, your number one rule when it comes to women is that, you should go for the ones that chooses you already. Believe me is like having an all expense vacation to heaven.

Women effortlessly love and submit to a man they love, and it's not something you can use logic to convince or toast your way into her heart.

One thing you don't force is things of the heart. But to make rejection less painful, you should have an awesome life. Thats the antidote.

Programming / Re: What Degree Is Best For Me? by SavageBoy: 12:01pm On Dec 30, 2022
Leave medicine. You can still choose a health related course like pharmacy. If you've been so close to getting Medicine, then you should be able to meet up with the cut off mark for pharmacy.

Pharmacy is much more flexible than medicine. You're gonna have more time for coding as a pharmacy student than as a medical student. And it's even more lucrative than medicine.

If I were to turn back the hands of time, I wouldn't have waste my time applying for medicine. Though I'm currently a pharmacy student, I just wished I hadn't spent waste several years applying for medicine.

But you can still go ahead with Medicine, if you think that's the best for you.
