Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Hustles In Nigeria That Pay More Than Some White Collar Jobs by SavageResponse(m): 12:06am On Jun 07, 2021

A normal white collar job pays an average 25k-30k

Here are some jobs that pay just as much and kind be used as a side hustle

1.Barbing

Here are the things you should know if you wish to start a barbing salon business.

There are some businesses that will always remain profitable as long as they're well managed: Barbing salon is one of them.

In a country like ours where most men visit the salon at least twice a week to either cut or shave their hair, you need not be told that owners of barbing salons are successful entrepreneurs.

However, a lot of people are not aware of this. They tend to assume that the business is not profitable enough because it is not the loud kind of business.
Who the hell told you that an average employee makes just 30K every month?!

Good morning Nairalanders,

I stumbled into Afialink advertising sales of television online in Facebook, someone close to developed interest to make purchase hence I decided to do a little verification if it's real.

Has anyone here been able to purchase TV through them?
Your guide and contribution will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Why would you want to order a TV set when you can walk into an electronics store and see what you're buying before you make payment.

If however Afialink has good online reviews and you're willing to take the risk you may buy from them

One major reason why this is so, is the huge need it meets, saving us all time and stress through ease of communication. People hardly go out now without doing so with a phone by their side. Some have more than one phone even.

One market that has grown with phones is phone accessories, as we all want to protect our phones, create some level of flexibilities for ourselves, using ear piece, air pods and the rest.

Trending is the need for air pods, the class and the comfort that comes with it. The prestige is another element, giving you access to listen and communicate with your phone without necessiril6 touching your phone.

Everyone would like to own an apple airpod but unfortunately we all can't afford it.

Instead of just being a consumer or end user of pods, do you know, you can make make money with it as well, without breaking the bank for that.

You can access this pods at highly discounted prices in such a way that you earn over 100% reselling them.

There are importers who are willing to supply them to you at discounted rates.

Don't ever employ people who are related to work in the same company otherwise they may collude and steal from you.

Olamideh2:
I am a young school leaver who just graduated few years ago. And after Nysc I started a business with the money I got from my Nysc

So I rented a new shop around a market side and I furnished it, even tiled it , even though the shop was costly. I rent it for 10000 naira per month and I started selling there for some few years. I am just spending 2 years in the shop. I am already getting few customers Bur sales is not improving as I want it

So my friend told me about a new shop in another place near a school gate, I went there cos I liked the location and borrowed money from my elder brother to rent it even though the rent is same as the former place

I then packed all my load from the former one to the new shop, later some people informed my former landlord that I have packed out and my former landlord was disturbing me about the former shop to know if I am still renting it or not

I intentionally kept the key so that I can study the new business in the new environment and know if I can proceed or return back to the former shop

Bur i am just confused

Since I came here to the new shop, sales has not been very okay. Attimes weeks no market unlike where I left cos there are competitors here. But my shop falls in a good location unlike others

Actually I am still holding on to the keys of the former shop
and the landlord in the former place is disturbing me

I don’t want to loose the two locations

I am even confused maybe to call my cousin to be helping me selling there as I study the market in the new shop

Bur I don’t want to loose the former shop if business does not improve in the new shop I just got

I am just confused. I don’t even know what to do ?

The landlord is worried that he wants his rent and he don’t like as his shop is locked

Or should I bring in my cousin to stay there for me for a while and I Stay in the other shop while I sort things and see how things goes for six month. Then I decide ?

I can’t divide myself in two and I know handing a business to another person on my behalf is not a best decision

Please send me your advice here ?
First your landlord has no business disturbing you so long as your rent has not expired.

Second you need to make up your mind quickly and decide which of the shops you will keep so that you don't end up incurring rent for an empty shop for one full year. Apart from this I doubt if you can afford to pay the rents of the two shops when they become due.

This is my stake

If you go back to your original location there is a possibility you can make more profit since you do not have a lot of direct competitors but the downside is that you would need to have more patience and be ready to spend more money on marketing and advertisement.

Staying at the new place means your business will have exposure but your profit margin will not be much since there are more competitors around who are even willing to crash prices in order to get customers to come to their shop.

Another things you also need to bear in mind is that these guys have been there before you so they already have regular customers who will still patronise them; in oder for you to pull these customer away you may have to drop prices or give deep discounts.

I would noty advise you to ask your cousin to stay in one of the shops at this stage cos the business is still a new one and you're still learning the ropes.

What I would tell you is to do a re-assessment of the first location, if it has a lot of pedestrian traffic especially of people who need the type of services you provide that you may consider moving back there.

After all said an done growing a new business requires lots of patience but you also need to come up with other services you can render so you can increase your revenue base.

Good luck!

Investment › Re: Why Ethereum Transaction Fees Are Often Expensive by SavageResponse(m): 8:45am On Jun 03, 2021
Chimatexr3b:
The cost of moving cryptocurrency on the Ethereum network is at an all-time high, with some transactions requiring a gas price of over $100 to complete.

According to research by Ycharts, the average Ethereum gas price as of February 27th, 2021 is 158.44 Gwei.

It’s difficult to overstate how the recent increase in Ethereum gas price has harmed ERC-20 projects’ ability to conduct microtransaction payments on the Ethereum network.

Some transactions on the Ethereum network currently cost as much as $100, which is a major problem for traders who spend a lot of money on gas fees.

Gas fees are the costs associated with miners executing and validating transactions. The gas fee is a vital component of the Ethereum network, and it is dynamic, fluctuating in response to network demand.

In an exclusive interview with Nairametrics, Adebayo Juwon, African Lead at FTX, a large crypto exchange, explained why such expenses are usually high:

Sometimes, a transaction can experience a delay or total rejection if it does not meet the miners’ threshold. This threshold is dependent on two factors-network usages and congestion. Congested networks benefit miners more as they can charge excessive-high gas fees.

“Paying as high as a $60 fee on a single Uniswap transaction or a $10 to $40 fee just to withdraw an asset from a cryptocurrency exchange nullifies one of the important goals of blockchain technology which is ensuring minimal transaction fees traditional financial systems,” Juwon said.

I thought that proponents of cryptocurrency told us that transaction cost will be far less than what conventional banks charge for funds transfer. huh

Most of the war mongers here are largely hungry and frustrated people who have never been in a riot or stampede talkless of a war zone.

You people should keep pouring petrol in fire, when war starts you will realise that everyone looses but poor people suffer the greatest casualty cos most of them have no damn savings and can't even afford a plane ticket to leave the country!
