Any activity that gratifies the flesh in any sort of way is usually difficult to put a stop to. Only Jesus Christ can empower one to stop them. And even as a born again person, if one doesn't deliberately kill the flesh and its desires victory over these habits would be nothing but a farfetched dream. |
ceejay10:And become politically irrelevant? You realise that in order to change the system, you must have a share of the system? |
From one kangaroo injunction to another kangaroo one. This is the party that says will be different from the current one. Jokers. |
There's not much Osinbajo can do to change the security situation of the country. He's a Vice President. He commands nothing that the President doesn't empower him to. I would cut him some slack. |

But there's light in my area. Abi Port Harcourt no follow for national grid? |
If the envoys don't dance to their tune, my hunch tells me this government can send them and their embassies out of the country and break ties with their respective countries. The way this government goes about stuff makes you think they're capable of anything. Shame dey cash me.

There are so many people who really want to be shortlisted, not because they desire it, but because of how things are economically at the moment. I hope as many of them be shortlisted. |
No Rivers State yet? |
Actually, I was the nice person. This happened in 2010. Two years after my family relocated to PH from Obinze, Owerri, I went back there for my Jamb exam. En route, I noticed a lady by my right hand just taking a cursory glance at her photocard. I don't know what moved me to ask, but I proceeded and inquired about her center. She told me, and I asked her if she knew anyone in the city she could bunk with for the night. She was reluctant to say, but she eventually told me she knew no one, and that her plan was to find an Assembly of God's church close to her center and spend the night over there. This was around 6pm or so, and we were barely out of Mile 1 in PH. I told her the plan was risky, because the exact location of her centre was yet unknown to her, and that no one would want to open their doors to her by the time we would arrive the city. I gave her the option to come with me. She rebuffed the idea with a mean scoff and a shrugged shoulder. I insisted because, I was aware of the mess she was getting herself into. Somehow, she found reason and went with me. She was taken aback when I alighted at Obinze military barracks. That lifted her confidence. I took her to my former neighbour, left her there and went over to my place of residence. By the time I would return, she had gotten used to everyone and was dressed in work clothes cooking with the woman's children who were grown up girls. She was just staring at me the whole time, wondering how lucky she was, I guess. The next day, after the exam she called home and everyone in the house spoke with me, pouring blessings on me. She later told me she would like to stay an extra day, her reason being the place was full of fun stuff to do. All through, I kept coming by to see her and even gave her transport fare back. That girl would have married me if I had kept in touch. Lost my sim, phone and everything bearing her phone number the next year. I changed number and that was the end. Sweet memories. |
First bank has been in the news for the wrong reasons lately. I used to view them as one of the most organised banking institutions in the country, but alas! I hope what my mind is telling me won't happen to this bank. If Diamond bank could go under, I don't know any one that can't. They really have to put themselves together. |
You're quite observant. I'm not saying that the manner with which kids were raised in those days was particularly perfect, but this tilting to the Western way is dangerous. The results are there for all to see. Our family system is fractured and, I don't even think there's a way back from here. The change is irreversible. It's only a matter of time before a 10 year old would address his father's mate by his first name. The difference in social orientation between Nigerian kids born in 2000 upwards and downwards is so different that, you just don't understand it anymore. 80s and 90s kids know to greet seniors, stand up, if you're sitting down, before shaking an elderly person. They know to leave the room when elders are engaged in a discussion. 2000s kids don't know anything about these things because the system that's supposed to introduce these etiquettes to them is destroyed. Parents now just want to buy every gadget available for their kids so they can be distracted enough to give them some peace and quiet. |
Anyone asking to buy your old Facebook account is out to use it for fraud purposes. Old accounts are like those old pendulum clocks that was much sought after few years back. They have something, like a security feature that makes impersonation easier compared to the newly created ones. In essence, don't ever sell for any reason. You might just get yourself in trouble. |
For me, any day I fail to pray and study God's word I feel a sense of unfulfillment, regardless of the amount of money I get that day. If I do, I feel a sense of fulfillment regardless of what I may have missed. |
It's common practice in Rivers State since 2015! Not only when trying to get jobs but contracts, too. Rivers state is dreadful at the moment in this regard. Initially it was just securing government appointments and contracts that demanded joining an occult group, then it trickled down to even private companies. People are getting fired from their jobs for refusing to join cult groups daily. It's hard to secure contract upwards of ₦5m without someone demanding you join one group or another, unless God is with you. It's just terrible how Rivers State has degenerated to this clannish state. |
It's actually very rude for him to sound like that. In spite of the risk of falling prey to scammers, there are more than a thousand polite ways to engage an unknown caller other than "get out" after a few seconds of conversation. |

Exc2000:Why things work that way in the US is, before the President (or 'white house') make any such order publicly, proper communication has been established with the body(ies) responsible for carrying out the action, absolving the said body(ies) of any form of litigation. Here in Nigeria, we make public orders first before proper communication is established with the appropriate bodies for political expediency. |
A bit off topic. Can someone please walk me through how to install a PlayStation or Xbox emulator on my phone? I'd like to play God of war, etc on my phone. |
PhiliptheArab:Spoken like a professional. Blessings. |
Sometimes, I just feel that these politicians make these public statements for the sake of plausible deniability and to whip up public emotional support to themselves. As President of the Nigerian Senate, what has Mr. Lawan done with the resources at his disposal to help the security challenges the country is faced with? How many security improvement bills has he, or his support bloc presented for deliberations in the house? Enough of this playing to the gallery any time a tragic development arises. Security won't improve by merely making public statements. |
It's always about personal benefit for Nigerian public officers. |
It's no longer news the lack of political will among the ruling class to do anything about the raging poverty in the country. These people do not want the average Nigerian to escape poverty for political expedience. Any "empowerment" program they come up with is merely just playing to the gallery. The intent isn't to empower. People who had the heart to hoard palliatives? God will save this country one day. |
Good move. The economy has worsened since the closure was done. Closing the border was in good faith, but as most things Nigerian, it was unduly taken advantage of. Nigeria is probably the only country where any economic policy to aid local manufacturing ends up to the detriment of the masses. Imagine the cost of local rice soaring by more than 400% since the closure. I also think that, Buhari's economic advisers are not up to date with the happenings of the Nigerian economy. They seem not to realise that the country doesn't have the economic infrastructure to support most of their policies. They simply just make them and hope for the best. Sad. |
I won't forget how I took almost 50 passport photographs with me to camp, but ended up not using more than 5. |
Juicethekid:08103716933 Thanks brother. |
Can anyone please tell me how I can get charging flex for Hot S3? Thank you so much in advance. |
Wicked world that we live in. The wicked shall not go unpunished! Let him get the full penalty for his actions. |
Thanks. |
Mikehot:I don't think those who say they never knew such places existed in PH were feigning ignorance. I've been in PH for almost 11years now, and, in all my journey I've only ever gone past Spar Mall once. I have absolutely no idea what's beyond Hospital road. I live around Iwofe axis, and I earn my living, to the glory of God, around that area, and I don't think I've been to Trans-Amadi more than twice. Besides, "Bundu waterside" and Iloabuchi areas in PH, aren't places you want to live. Those places are really rough. People only run trade businesses over there, especially at Iloabuchi area. Below are photos I took from my rooftop as soon as I saw your comment. The quality is bad but they offer a glimpse of what I'm saying. There are tons of areas in PH that looks even better than what the OP posted. I mean tons! If I enter only those small towns wey connect with Ada George road snap show you sef, you go know say PH try. The rent here is ₦200k for a one bedroom apartment, and ₦350k for a two bedroom apartment. It's a relatively cheap place to live in PH.

ubcandid:The reasonable thing to do, if he didn't have the wherewithal to support his friend, was to tell him exactly the situation of things on his end and not go days/months without so much as picking up his friend's call. That's terrible from a supposed "friend". |
