barcanista: ANTI-CORRUPTION: Timpre Sylva FREED:Buhari promised to fight corruption and to ensure that all ongoing trial are allowed to continue. In keeping to his promise, the Director of Public Prosecution under Buhari applied to withdraw the N2.5 billion fraud case against Fmr Gov of Bayelsa state and Buhari's ally Chief Timpre Sylva on June 1st, 2015. The action of the DPP led to striking out of another N19billion fraud suit against Sylva by Justice Ahmed Muhammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. According to the learned Judge, "the charges instituted against Sylva by the EFCC were an abuse of court process since they were based on the same set of transactions involved in the N2.45bn charges that were recently dropped against Sylva." www.ynaija.com/ex-governor-bayelsa-timipre-sylva-cleared-efcc/
Fugitive exGov Murtala Nyako Free Again: Impeached Adamawa state Governor and another senior APC Chieftain Admiral Nyako Murtala was declared wanted on corruption and fraud charges by the EFCC on Feb 4, 2015, however he fled the prior to the time of the declaration. 24hours after the Buhari was sworn-in, the fugitive exGovernor made a surprise return to Nigeria. The same "wanted man" is yet to be arrested nor prosecuted under Buhari. www.newsat247.com/2015/05/wanted-nyako-returns-plans-to-meet-buhari-will-he-be-arrested-did-you-remember-nyako-was-declared-wanted-by-the-efcc-over-read-details/ Buhari is yet to make any high profile arrest or prosecution since coming to power.
Transparency: Buhari's administration promised to be very transparent. In fact, Baba pledged to lead by example by making public declaration of his Assets and liabilities. Till date #Baba is yet to make any declaration public. He only did the secret declaration like other public officers.
Security: President Buhari promised to fight BH and BringBackOurGirls. Since his inauguration in May 29, Boko Haram have strucked a NINE times and killed over 500 Nigerians. We are yet to hear of any update with respect to the return of Chibok school girls.
Economy: Since coming to power petrol stations have continued to sell fuel at N120-N130 per litre across Nigeria instead of the approved N87 pump price. Nigerians have no clue whether there is still subsidy or not.
Governance: Since coming to power, President Buhari is yet to appoint Senior Government officials like the Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Service Chiefs, Heads of Parastatals etcetera
I wish I can remember more of Baba's achievement. May God help Nigeria! Well articulated, please barcanista hope am allowed to copy n paste on my fb wall for broader outreach? |

PassingShot: You don't get it. While it is true that the maintenance has since been awarded during GEJ, it could still not be completed, missing many target completion dates. Remember GEJ spent 5.5 years.
With PMB on board, many have actually put their acts together to impress even beyond what is expected of them.
Just today we read that 14 foreign nationals were arrested for oil bunkering. In his five years stay, I can't remember a single such arrest.
The fear of PMB is already whipping some people into line. I don't argue /criticise based on sentiments n perception. Politics is beyond that. It's too early to praise or condemn PMB, in due time he ll prove his worth. Stop attributing every signs n omens to him.time ll prove all thangs right or wrong |

LONG LIVE BABA, LONG LIVE NIGERIA. That's ur perception of GEJ n Buhari, luckily PMB is already on d sit, Nigerians r keenly watching. Enough of the noise n unverified encomium. Algebra12: These are really irrelevant excuses. So if the President were a complete civilian, he wouldn't have been allowed to such meetings?
I believe the reason for his exclusion is not contained in this silly excuse. But whatever that is, it had better be for the good of the nation. Don't be deceived, it's never for d good of our Nation, it's to give them (Buhari n Co.) ample time to hide some vital classified information from us. Our leaders are bunch of mischiefs. |

soe: And i can see a supreme court judgment underway....suspending the Senate until further notice.
The illegality in the action of the so called clerk of the house will not stand. Having inaugurated 57senators only out of 109, that is not even up to a quorum (quorum is 1/3rd for normal plenary...but for extraordinary plenary such as this and constitution amendment among others specified by law, it is 2/3rd).
And this was also without the requisite formal declaration by Mr President, signalling the launching of the new assembly. That said, APC needs to checkmate the activities of certain people. Saraki has only confirmed that he is far from "change" as he is neck deep in romance with the PdP gang. Shame to kwankwaso also, for being no different...now I know never to trust the so called N-PDP boys who ought to have been left to rot in political oblivion like Lamido and Muazu.
First, he called the VP a mere commissioner. Secondly, he damned the meeting with mr president. Thirdly, he paired with pdp imps.
My advicr to Buhari, this guy still has 4 heavy corruption baggages....it is either you immediately recruit Nuhu Ribadu into the EFCC, or you consult OBJ on how to deal ruthlessly with Senate Presidents.
