How will u do dat when those 3 Warri LGAs ar also homes to indigenous Urhobo nd Ijaws villages/ communities? Or u mistakenly think d 3 Warri LGAs belong to only Itsekiri pipo? Take correctn, guy.
Only Warri South has Urhobo communities. Those communities are not part of a proposed Warri state.
And the ijaw communities in Warri North and Warri South West communities are migrants less than 100 years old communities. the same way they came over the water to Edo and Ondo states
Even the colonial authorities gazetted that the local governments are indigenous to the Itsekiri.

Demographic Trends.
.
There is considerable migration in Nigeria, especially between the north and the south. Large numbers of southern migrants have settled in the northern cities of Kano, Sokoto, Kaduna, and Jos, while migrants have often moved from the northern Sokoto and Kano areas to southern areas where cacao is grown -the southwest-. A more significant number of people have migrated from the southeast to the more industrialized and urbanized western states..

Let him keep ranting, Ondo has crude oil and they produce oil. In Ilaje communities of Ondo state and other water sides, oil are abound. Places such as Igbokoda, Okitipupa, Akotogbo etc are oil areas. In Akotogbo, oil seeps from the ground and there's massive environmental pollution there. These areas are never areas of boundary disputes/adjustment, so that guy should go get verified source. Maybe its the Ondo he founded.
Thanks for clarifying. Ondo has always been an oil producing state, from the days of old.

Lagos Set To Join Oil Producing States As Production Begins This Year

https://www.newafricanglobalenergy.com/images/NigeriaAjeWEB.jpg

Drilling has started on the Aje 5 production well in Aje field offshore Nigeria, paving the way for first oil on the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel development.
The three-phase development, starting with two production wells, Aje 5 and a re-entry of Aje 4, will use Rubicon Offshore International's Front Puffin FPSO, which is currently being refurbished in Singapore.
The two Phase I development wells are being drilled using Saipem's Scarabeo 3 semisubmersible drilling rig, in about 300m water depth, with the first well due to take about 70 days before moving on to re-enter and complete the Aje 4 well.
According to partner MX Oil, the Phase 1 Aje development, in the OML 133 license, in the Dahomey Basin, close to the border with Benin, is targeting first oil in December 2015 and peak gross production of 41 API oil from Aje 5 and 4 is expected to reach 11,000 b/d. Phase 2 is targeting an increase in gross production to 19,000 b/d from an additional two-well development.
According to partner Panoro Energy, The Aje Field contains hydrocarbon resources in sandstone reservoirs in three main levels - a Turonian gas condensate reservoir, a Cenomanian oil reservoir and an Albian gas condensate reservoir.
Installation of the production manifold, flowlines, umbilicals and risers on the field is due to take place in Q4 2015. The 245.6m-long Front Puffin is fitted with a disconnectable submerged turret mooring system, which connects to the seabed via a submerged buoy and multiple leg mooring spread.
The vessel was built in 1990 and converted to a DP shuttle tanker in 1994 and then an FPSO in 2007, in order to work offshore north west Australia for Sea Production on blocks AC/P22. It has a tandem offtake mooring system and floating hose arrangement and facilities for gas lift compression for artificial lift.
Aje is operated by Nigerian firm Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum (YFP). The other partners are Jacka Resources, New Age, First Hydrocarbon Nigeria, and Energy Equity Resources.
Further exploration operations in the Dahomey basin offshore Western Nigeria are ongoing.

https://idahosaejalen./2015/07/19/mx-oil-acquired-stakes-in-aje-field-offshore-nigeria/

If Production from Aje alone can reach 19,000 barrels per day as planned, then Lagos will displace Imo state into 8th largest oil producer and sit at 7th spot, from just one oilfield.
The Ogo field is even Larger.

You will stop at nothing in shoving your stupid agenda down everyone's throats.
In case you don't know, Nigeria's first oil was actually discovered in Ondo state in a place called Araromi, not Oloibiri in Bayelsa.

http://nigeriadaily..ca/2009/10/crude-oil-crisis-in-nigeria.html

So, tell me how the rubbish you posted above there is true, when Ondo has always been an old oil producing state, though not on the same levels as the big players such as Akwa Ibom and Delta.

I agree that the states should get some proceeds but it should be limited to resources in the territorial sea. At best, obasanjos initial 24 nautical miles proposal should be adopted. The present situation where litoral states are getting revenues from resources found in the exclusive economic zones of up to 200 nautical miles and up to the continental shelf is just unfair to other parts of the country. Even in international laws, the activities of littoral states/ regions are always limited to 12 nautical miles. The onshore/offshore dichotomy act is a serious mistake that was ignorantly passed by Na'abba and his colleagues back in 2003.
Is that the current situation??
Okay, that is just not fair. Fields like Agbami, Erha, Bonga etc are deepwater oil fields that can't be said to belong to any community.

Your proposal is the best if we are to consider national interest but state and ethnic interest will never allow this to happen. In fact, the onshore/offshore dichotomy bill was a major point of campaign in the 2003 presidential election. If we go by your advice, a state like Akwa Ibom will immediately cease to be an oil producing state just like Cross River. They will never allow this to happen.
Exactly, states like Akwa Ibom produce more than 95% if not all of their production from offshore oil fields.
So, in actuality, they don't really have any "oil producing communities" in the conventional sense of the term, except they have communities deep inside the ocean, lol.
I however think proceeds from these fields rightly belong to them, as it is in their state's territorial waters. Shebi Nigeria is a federation of states.

Abagworo:
My take is that to determine the actual oil inside the States territory, then offshore should be excluded. It is out of place to assign oilfields located outside Nigerian shore to littoral States. Those who supported it erred and it is what led to extreme poverty in the North. All offshore oil belongs to FG while States lay claim to ones within their land boundaries.

Can't you see our mentality is different from yours?
SK was built by the Americans to prove a point. North Korea used to be better.
Same way the West industrialized Japan.

Eeven the iIndustrial revolution in places like the Uk was achieved off the back of Hydrocarbons like coal and the abundance of other NATURAL RESOURCES... For resource poor places in Europe, most of the resources they used in their industrialization stage came from places like Africa, South America, india , the Caribbean etc.

I would rather be a country like Canada than a country like Poland.

No great nation nation got industrialised with an oil economy. No emerging great nation is getting industrialized with an oil economy.

Agreed maybe those nations might not be great like on the level of Germany, USA etc, but they are doing Quite alright for themselves and their citizens.

Sorry, I refuse to see any Edo influence there. What I see is Anioma influence on Edo.
I know you just want to be Adamant.
It would surprise you, to know that that particular style of headgear is also found among the Ondos during their cultural events.
Did Anioma also influence the Ondos?

The use of coral beads is much more pronounced among the Edos than among the Anioma groups, so it isn't that hard for anyone to see who is influencing who.
