You may be right in your experience. But I have seen 3 graduates of Engineering who got jobs without much efforts... Elect , Biomed and Computer Eng.respectively. It all depends on what you hold. Within 3 months, yes..you can learn the basic things, communicate and interact...with time, you will become perfect. There are some professions that do not require much talks or deep communications...you do not need to spend one year after graduation.
No thank you. I never spent a year looking for a job. I said my eyes have seen people looking for jobs and I quoted you saying that there are no jobs everywhere looking for people as you claimed. Because I have seen people looking for job, attending interviews and hoping and praying, my former Indian flatmate inclusive with a degree in engineering and many others I personally have seen. People get it, yes but bottom line is its not as smooth as you presume

My friend get out and get lost. I was bind by German thread for doing what? By whom and for what and when was that? I have never for any reason recieved a ban on nairaland on any section. Stop dreaming. I am known for telling the truth and opening people's eyes to the fact that making it here is not instant it takes time and comes with challenges. I say stories based on what my eyes has seen and not someone claiming and claiming they got a job paying thousands of euros meanwhile they are here doing minimum wage jobs. Keep wallowing in your delusion and don't ever mention me.
I just checked you have not even stepped your feet here and you somewhere else assuming. Just so you know its graduate job I am talking about not menial jobs.

No objection bro, you've said it all. I was wondering why nobody had ever mentioned Germany as one of the promising destinations for students. I can count at least 3 of my brother's friends who studied and stayed back there with sound jobs. The entire EU, including UK depends on Germany for technological and manpower development. Jobs are looking for people there.
I shouted when I got to your post. Wow! You are definitely not well informed. I am in Germany and I can say without a doubt that jobs are not looking for people the way you stated it. A vacancy comes up and there are people who apply for it even with their qualifications they hope and pray to get the job. No job placement is guaranteed. I have personally met German citizens who are graduates travelling from state to state to find jobs. The good for them is while searching government pays them u employment benefits. We are not even of talking of foreigners who have searched and searched and are forced to take up another Masters or try another country. Its may take time to finally get a job and you need to keep applying and being positive. That's off course when you have a good grade, experience, and of course good command of the language.
Then you talk about learning Deutsch in 3 months! shocked guy what are talking about? In 3 months you only learn very basic level 1 Deutsch you need more time, years to speak deutch confidently with less mistakes.

Its funny how people see all blacks here and assume we all came on asylum. People at home don't know that, that brother, friend, in law etc living in Europe (especially Germany where I stay) are mostly living here by claiming asylum to be able to stay here.

Politics / Re: We Must All Get Back To Farming Or Things Will Get More Worst by Schwartz: 9:52am On Aug 16, 2016
ZUBY77:
You are right.

The idea of hunting for useless certificates is the reason why we are not growing.
I have carefully read and observed the economic evolution of China and I plan to write a book on it in due time.
But I will give out a few hints here.

These people called the Chinese found out how useless Certificates would have made their economy if everyone went for it. They found out because those who acquired the certificates couldn't find jobs. (Same thing that is happening in Nigeria)

They found out that the ego chasing certificate people didn't want to provide the basic needs of their ever growing population. For that reason, they started pulling half brilliant people from schools and sponsoring them to different countries to learn vocational works such as sewing, baking, mechanized farming etc.
Only highly brilliant people were encouraged to continue with Medicines, technology and law studies.

Two decades later, they started recalling those they sent out. They even went to the extent of punishing or even killing those who refused to return.
Those that returned were sponsored to open small factories to start production on whatever they learnt.

They started employing their people and one decade later, each factory gave birth to many more. The spread began there from there.
This programme was replicated in almost every sector ; Agriculture, clothes, shoes, building materials, blacksmithing, woods/carpentry and many more.
Today, with the help of constant electricity, there are millions of small factories all over the place.

That was how the revolution began.

But today, in my Country, every half Illiterate wants to become a banker, an oil worker, a doctor, a lawyer etc.
They want to sit in one office with air condition and western styled suits, just to gloat over others that they went to one University or the other.
They forgot that doctors, lawyers and bankers eat everyday, wear cloths everyday, etc. Who provide all these things?

It's not yet late because the journey ahead is still forever. If we start today, we can become a China in 30 years time.

So, if you know your results in schools are not encouraging, If you know you are not that brilliant, stop forcing yourself to become a doctor, you can only harm people.

Brace up yourself, search for what you can do, go as low as possible to learn it, apply whatever unique talent you have inside you to make it different, and before you know it, you are successful. The word here is successful, not rich.
Like Igbo traders do, bring in people to learn from you, settle them when they are done, they will bring in more people to teach. In 30 years, half of Nigerians will have jobs. Agriculture will be booming, shoes, clothing, even technology will spread.
Without trying to be tribal here, if other Tribes in Nigeria can adopt the Igbo style of bringing apprentice and training them, Nigeria will become mega productive in a few years.

Let us not focus on the crappie WAEC results we post here every year about how Anambra or Imo is better than Kogi or Osun.
The truth is that 98% of those with that results will end up as workers in one company or bank or anything else that contributes only tax money to the economy. Tax money is not what we need, we need economic revolution that can only be obtained through small factories, agriculture etc.

Finally, I want us to know that someday in the future, electricity would become stable in Nigeria like it is in many countries, and we need to be ready by then.
The rogues holding us down will all die someday and things will change.
... .
If you are a ghost worker, getting paid for what you don't work for, always remember you are a thief.

Lalasticlala or seun, please this needs to go to the home page.
1million likes. Germany is what it is today because every job, every skill, every vocation you learn is important. Less of their citizens end up in universities and the others who don't are highly skilled with modern up to date technology.

Rather than being emotional let us be analytical in our posting. Without Toyin's backing, a well known actress, such huge amount of money would not have been raised. Why would Mayowa's family be hiding where they were taking her after funds were raised. First it was US then Dubai. It is from the police we now learnt it is South Africa. Aramide would not have taken Mayowa to LUTH if the family was open about the full details of the travel arrangement for treatment. How many people badmouthing Toyin and Linda lkeji knew the lady was to be taken to South Africa while the drama lasted.Let us be careful as celebrities may not lend their names to raising funds for the sick in future. Having raised funds for Mayowa it is very clear her family did not want usage of the funds monitored. l am happy the police have stepped in and are monitoring the funds.
You are the wisest person I have read from on Nairaland. I wish everyone will see thing this way

I know the feeling. The shop I can get goat meat sells without the skin and its not roasted by fire like in Naija. I am still looking for where I can get the real deal not minding that 8 pieces of goatmeat costs 5€. I miss snails so much, I have not been able to see it to buy cry and fresh Periwinkles too cry

I took my time to read this story. From my observation the girl wasn't charmed:
""As I always did I called Blessing when I woke up that morning to alert her that I was awake and she could come to the main house (she stayed in the bq) but I noticed that her phone was switched off. She later came in and I asked""
They slept and woke up and she ran away with the money. Then at what time did she run into the jazz people? During her sleep? If the money she stole was much I won't doubt if she has used part to bribe the police as well. Her sister shouting on the OP that she ruined her shows that they are working together.
And for those who didn't read she was employed in December 2015 while this incident happened in March. All within a space of 4 months of hiring a total stranger into your home.

Episode 16: The Coming of the King
You are going to pay 45000 Euros. That is for the money I spent on you from Nigeria to this place. I also added the profit I will make out of the deal. These two men will be coming to collect money from you every week. If you refuse to give them money, they have my orders to deal with you. Ask Mary what they did to her when she refused to pay me. I don’t want anyone to harm you in this country but if you refuse to give me my money, I will surely allow them to hurt you really bad,” Grace said.
"The reason I never give up hope is because everything is so basically hopeless"
I am very angry reading this, very very angry. So this human sex traffickers demand such outrageous demand to be paid to them. 45,000€ for bringing someone into the country angry Even if one wants to process visiting visa (which Jeniffer was given), pay an agent for it and still have some money to hold onto as pocket money before settling in, and do this same prostitition as a free lancer it won't be up to that at all, all. 5,000€ is too much sef. 45,000€ in Europe is a lot of money, a lot! And now this girls have to work for this woman for 4 solid years. People back home need to start reading and stop being ignorant. Is this really what sex workers go through? Chai!

Episode 13: The Day Started to Break

Lisbon Portugal 2005

“Welcome to Portugal sister. You look beautiful, the customers will like you,” Mary said.
Of course the customers will like me especially if I attend to them properly. As long as I give them what they pay for, I saw no reasons for them not to like me. Another reason why they would like me was if I give them the items at cheaper rates. A medium sized tuber of yam was sold at 10 Euros, which was about 1800 Naira then. If I sold the yam to a customers at 8 Euros, we still made some profits and I saw no reason why they won’t like me.

“Would you like to drink malt?” Madam Grace asked as she smiled at me.
“Yes Aunt Grace, thanks,” I responded.

Mary stood up from her chair and opened the fridge. A bottle of cold malt was opened for me and I started sipping it immediately. I was tired and thirsty and hungry and surprised at how everywhere was different from Nigeria. I used to think that all the good roads and houses I saw in foreign movies were film tricks until I found myself in Europe.

“I am going home now. You will go with Mary when she closes the store. Give me your Passport; I will keep it for you. You no longer need it now,” Madam Grace said.
I fumbled in my handbag and brought out my international passport, handed it over to her and thanked her for keeping it safe for me.

Just a thought...some of this African shops abroad could it be that some of the owners are into shady things? The other day there was a report of one owner in SA found with drugs in the foodstuffs worth about 1.4 billion naira. I know one in Germany too with funny idle characters hanging inside and around the premises, I strongly suspected them to be doing drugs, because one of the Naija guys loitering there was asking another guy there that O'boy you get coco shocked

Episode 3: The Initial Mistakes
e probably found one but he never made any serious move. There were some jobs Igbo boys did in Berlin, they helped people load items bound for Nigeria and they got paid all the time. Most of them also sold Marijuana in Hessenheide Park in the middle of Berlin. Police didn’t disturb them much because Marijuana wasn’t considered class A drug in Berlin. But Joshua couldn’t do any of those. He believed that a miracle would someday fall from Heaven to bless him. He whenever he returned. But I waited in vain for months until he eventually returned to Berlin.

Zubby Wow! Reading through this story its clear to me that you the writer must have lived or is living in Germany. This story is so so real and a true experience of what Nigerians face in Germany. About paying 80€ to and fro , just last week I paid 10€ from Berlin to Hamburg then 5€ from Hamburg to Bremen. I used flix bus. Its trains that cost very high.
When you tell Nigerians that abroad is not as rosy as they presume they never believe. They perceive you as an enemy. Especially for those without permit who are forced to claim asylum, its unimaginably tough for them. But our people they no dey hear word. Many Nigerians are serious and known drug traffickers here in Germany.
I will follow you please follow me back

Let me react to some responses here, hoping the OP will see it:

To those blaming the man for getting a dirty lady pregnant, I will say that pregnancy has nothing to do with the issue at hand.
She could have gotten pregnant before they stayed/lived together.

"Put it in prayer" is hardly a solution to a real problem such as this.
One response advised as above plus cooking her meals and washing her clothes and buying her new ones...
I am like...seriously...for an adult female and mother.

I will definitely flow with those who said the man was not under compulsion to marry her.
What good is a woman who sends her child to school dirty, allows her toilet to go brown from white, can't keep the house clean?
I frown at such habits when I go to other people's houses, much more marrying the person.. It is a red flag for me.

But I believe that if the lady has some other good qualities the trait of being dirty can be corrected. I am still teaching my man how to hang his clothes and not fling them all over the place. He is getting better at it. So also is he teaching me some things I am deficit in. You don't throw away the baby with the bath water. No one is perfect. You can tune your partner the way you want them to be.
