Politics / Re: I Know PDP Has Caused Nigerians Some Pains – Banky W by Scientheosopher(m): 1:06pm On Oct 13, 2022
Banky W said he joined PDP because their (his and PDP's) ideology matches and PDP's structure—and he seems to realise all these because INEC delisted his former political party!

If your party meets INEC requirements (implied by his statement) yet gets delisted, isn't taking INEC to court the right thing to do, if you believe in your party? Banky W seems to think otherwise.

Structure is people. And people follow you when you are worthy to be followed. Banky W is from a wealthy background, a celebrity and have (had?) people like Wizkid, etc., who have huge followings. These qualities are enough to build structure, but he couldn't leverage them. Now, he is in PDP because the work has be done by those in the party. Smart guy.

Ideology. It's not really about ideology but "executology". PDP and APC, like other parties, basically have the same ideology. These are security, poverty reduction and economy building. But their leadership is largely different, and this is mostly because of party's caucus decisions. So the reason of ideology is baseless. And does he think the PDP godfathers would allow him execute his ideas judging from their usual ways? Only time may tell.

#Banky W sounds like another Desmond Elliot in the making. I wish him what is best for the mass, if elected.

Politics / Re: Peter Obi’s Quiet inroads into the Muslim North By Farooq A. Kperogi by Scientheosopher(m): 1:16pm On Oct 08, 2022
"Because Obi is making a mark, however imperceptible, in these regions where he was previously unknown, we should recognize that he is no longer the underdog that he once was. In order to avoid a repeat of Buhari, critical citizens should ask Obi hard, soul-searching questions because he could be president.

For example, why did he allow the Anambra State University branch of ASUU to go on strike for more than six months and even going so far as to sack the school’s vice chancellor “because of his alleged romance with the striking workers of the university,” according to the Daily Sun of January 19, 2011. How is he different from Buhari in this regard?

Why did he allow doctors in Anambra State to go on strike for 13 months, which led to many needless deaths? The doctors called off their strike without Obi meeting their demands. And he implemented the no-work-no-pay rule when Anambra civil servants went on strike to demand to be paid minimum wage.

While he was governor of Anambra, he played typical Nigerian politics of divide and rule. He played Catholics against Anglicans and even stigmatized political opponents as “Yoruba” people, according to Professor Okey Ndibe who wrote extensively on him.

“It is similarly appalling that a governor who reportedly has ambitions for higher political office could not restrain himself from disparaging Mr. Ngige as a Yoruba candidate,” Ndibe wrote in his April 18, 2011, column titled “Peter Obi, Akunyili and Political Folly.” “Even if we accepted the silly argument that the ACN was a Yoruba party – so what? Is the governor allergic to forging political alliances with the Yoruba? Is he not aware that such appeals to base, ethnic sentiments would return to haunt him if he ever seeks to be a political player at the national level?”

That was prophetic. This doesn’t make Obi any worse than his opponents. But because he could be president, we should interrogate him so we won’t be blindsided".

The above allegations/questions should and must be urgently addressed by Peter Obi. Because the presidential seat is too country-unifying to be occupied by someone who is biased and has little regard for law and fairness.

As for those that would say "nobody is perfect" as such he should be excused, especially because alternatives seem worse should be reminded that old habits die hard. If he gets away with them, he will likely do worst if elected, as being done by president Buhari.
#Thanks Farooq A. Kperogi, and the poster! It's a worthy read.

I think I spent much less compared to what I would have spent if I had gone to our own naija store...(a difference of 15k or so)...I make any phone call... I did a lot of tracking, I agree.. especially when I noticed the tracking didn't move for about 2weeks or so..

You should know that I wasn't really in need of the phone when I placed the order. I just loved what I saw on the page and I decided to place the order. If I needed it urgently, I would have tried a Nigerian store.
OK.

maureensylvia:
It happened in June this year, he deserted, tried calling him it was unreachable, His family and the police didn't help either.

I got the idea of complaining to his bank, I went to his bank on August (Access bank) they asked me why I didn't come all these while that he withdrew the last part of the money 4 days before I came!!! E pain me shaa o

The customer care directed me to court to get a court order to restrict the account, I went to court, got the court order(pics displayed) paid them 10% of the total money. The bank restricted his account.

Yesterday afternoon, I got a call to come over to the bank...the guy was trying to make a transfer but he couldn't which warranted him to go to the bank...
The customer care told me he has 80% of the money in his account that with my consent, they'll unfreeze it and pay me or I can wait till it's complete and take all... they were certain because it's a salary account... money must enter.

Though the guy pleaded with me to be paying 20k monthly buy omooorr I don't think I'll have such patience. The bank told him to be paying the 20k into his account till it completes.

so the ball is now in my court

All thanks to Access bank

You should have collected the 80% and then wait for the remaining percents. If he stops using the account to receive salary, you may lose the whole money.
#Do ensure he pays for all the expenses (time, money and stress) it took to freeze his account.

RIP ,it is cowardly and wickedness to mock the dead ,especially when we weren't offended by thier lives choices or death ..its serves no purpose and infact it's prejudices before the ultimate judge of all mankind, the Lord almighty...96years old is a great age by any standard and also a very privileged grace by God..those who are very old is weak in the flesh, and therefore is limited to evil they can do ...my grandpa died at this age of 96 in 1993 and I knew how much he was celebrated ,talk more of a royal queen of UK ,Canada and Australia..she ďeserve respect and honour even in death...let cowards who couldn't badmouth her while alive forever remain silent..judgement belongs to God alone..
You made lots of unthought through points, so I want to help you have a rethink, if you wish, with the following:

An evil dead is mocked so that an evil living may repent, thereby reducing suffering—the meaning in Life.

The evil deeds of the dead echos till the end of time. But admitting wrong/apologising will reduce the force of the echo.

Dying in old age is not a definitive proof of God's grace. The bad ages, too. Perhaps, God was giving him/her time to repent.

You know nothing about the judgement of the Lord Almighty! The same Almighty, according to Jesus, that will burn sinners in Hell, forever?

No. Judgement belongs to firstly, Man and then God. It's why He gave the brain, and our judgements here, if successful, will ease His works over there.

#A person that didn't respect his/her -self while alive shouldn't be respected when dead, because it signals to its living kinds that they can go free with their evil acts.

Business / Re: Why Can't The CBN Just Print More Money? by Scientheosopher(m): 6:12pm On Sep 04, 2022
Print more money; lend it to manufacturing companies that would employ workers thereby reducing unemployment; and the regulation of price by govt. Hmm.

While it reads like socialism, it's a reasonable measure. However, regulation is the main problem; and we have the agencies as you pointed out but they are performing below expectations. Govt being govt, they will probably get slack along the way as usual. This would make companies try to raise price, defeating the initial plan.

(It should be noted that companies are largely driven by profit. When govt control prices directly and tightly as it would happen in this situation, companies don't feel comfortable because they don't make as much gain if the reverse is the case. Consequently, they will reduce, if not stop, production).

A major problem that's hurting the economy is that our govt don't like buying local goods. How many govt officials uses Innoson motors or eat rivers' rice? So for this to work, govt need to start buying internally manufactured goods however low in quality they may be and pressure makers to improve quality.

That said, instead of printing more money, I suggest lending from the ones already present to companies. This would remove printing costs, which would inturn reduce govt's non-job creation expenditure that is usually a cause of inflation. And more importantly, the loans should be of low interest rate so that they can easily be paid.
