The bolded. Because of the polarization of the party at the state level is the reason the NWC opted for direct primary but Obaseki want indirect which will make the party go the Zamfara way.
What happened in Zamfara and Rivers was that there were 2 factions and 2 different indirect primaries were held. But the case of Edo will go same way like Imo and Ogun where the NWC opted for direct primaries. All party members and not delegates will choose the candidate.

You get this wrong. Obaseki is not suspended from the party. The Screening committee said he’s not qualified to contest under the party. Now Obaseki will need to resign from the party himself and go to any party of his choice.

DO you know that Indirect primary is double election and there is more risk than the Direct primary?
Indirect Primary- there will be ward congresses to select the delegate, this will be election by all party members at their wards to choose the delegates that will travel to benin. by doing this You and Obaseki didn't see any danger/risk of covid-19 spreading.
Then the elected delegates will travel to Benin in their thousands and converge in a place to vote.. remember that the delegates are not going to vote according to the wishes of those that sent them, because they will vote for the highest bidder.

Meanwhile a Direct primary is when all the party members converge at their wards and stand behind the poster of their choice candidates and results announced and everybody will go to their houses.

Now tell me why Obaseki want the people to go through all this stress just because of his own selfish gain.

I am almost certain that this screening committee was put together by the chairman and the NWC. Take a look at the attached image to see how the screening committee should be constituted according to the APC constitution, Article 19.
