A police report says embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, told a panel that secessionist groups, the Indigenous People of Biafra and the Eastern Security Network are on a campaign to smear his reputation.

Kyari, who was suspended by the police last year for his alleged link to alleged international fraudster, Ramon Abass aka Hushpuppi, said this before a panel set up by the police to probe him.

A copy of the report which was obtained by The PUNCH read in part, “The officer did not deny violating social media (policy) of the police. I doubt if this man has ever engaged in a gun duel with real criminals during his time in the force.
What I see is a criminal police officer that would not bat an eyelid murdering arrested alleged criminals,those that refuse to settle him,planting incriminating evidence against or even murdering innocent people while tagging them criminals.
No serious police officer that regularly tackles criminals would have that much time to be involved in such humongous corrupt and drug deals Kyari was engaged in.

Let's hear the other side.
It's surprising that with the many examples out there,some Nigerians have still not learnt to defer judgement till they hear both sides of a tale.
For eg,what if it was the husband of the op that went behind to tell the patient to see him at home for further physiotherapy sessions and the dr overhead the conversation and got pissed.
Again what if it was the physiotherapist that first assaulted the Dr? There are different versions of what might have happened.
The reason why it's good to hear both sides of a tale is that in many cases just by how both sides present their version of events,an unbiased sensible mind can have a good idea of who is lying because of the loopholes that would be found.

This must have been going on for years in the various airports,but in this particular case,the NDLEA officers didn't want to share with the IRT team or the IRT team being under close scrutiny with their boss thief,Kyari,with no regular illicit means of getting regular money from arrested suspects or cases they were involved in,wanted extra funds,so went behind the deal,to get extra funds.
Evans too accused this same Kyari of forcefully taking his seized properties and selling them.
I am more than confident that if a holistic investigation of Kyari was to be done,he would be indicted in very more serious criminal activities while he was in the force,including even extra judicial killing of suspects that refused to play ball.

Assault is a criminal offence and don't think one can charge someone to court for it.
You report to the police and they are the ones to make an investigation and charge the accused to court if they find justifiable evidence.
The cost in Nigeria is that to "mobilise" the Nigerian police.
But if you are suing for monetary damages (civil case)that is when you can directly sue the accused on your own.
At least that is how I understand it.
