PoliticsRe: We Need A ''United States Of Africa'' by SEFAGO(m): 4:37am On Dec 28, 2010
OFFTOPIC: I know a LOT of Nigerian grads and adults who have taken "Nigeria" out of their resummes/ Job applications Cheesy I'm thinking about doing the same thing, no offense to Nigeria, but I deserve a bright future
Well thats you. I know lots of Nigerians who have boldly put Nigeria on their resume which has improved their chances due to diversity and such. Infact one of my good friends who really has no connection to Nigeria except that his parents are from there makes sure he includes Nigeria in nearly everything in his resume.

Maybe those people were not qualified grin
PoliticsRe: Every Aspiring Leader In Nigeria & Africa Should Watch This Video by SEFAGO(m): 10:17am On Dec 27, 2010
Funniest video, I have seen. However, there is some little truth in it. Except for the Yoruba, who were the most civilised of all africans, most africans did not build anything. Stop claiming Egypt. We should be interested in what is happening in subsaharan africa.

This pastor sef is funny. He was complaining about black people. The guy has a PhD from a school he made himself  grin. This guy beats emeagwali hands :
Manning graduated from The College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor of Arts degree and continued on to Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York where he was awarded a Master of Divinity.[7] Manning also holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from his own ATLAH Theological Seminary, an unaccredited educational institution.[8]
"It is common knowledge that African men, coming from the continent of Africa—especially for the first time—do diligently seek out white women to have sexual intercourse with. Generally the most noble of white society choose not to intercourse sexually with these men. So it's usually the trashier ones who make their determinations that they're going to have intimacy."
grin, god punish him. This guy is an effing attention seeker. From experience, it is actually african-americans that actively seek out white women. I think he is just pissed off that they have extra competition in that arena.

Oh boy when will we get over our inferiority complex.
strangerf,

You need to take it slow with how you talk to women, for real.

Any man that keeps on in life with the mentality that women are worthless is bound to find a worthless path in life. And I'm not just saying this because I'm a woman.

SEFAGO is a sexist eddiot, so I expected his gibberish. You, you need to calm down.
In the good old days, you would not have been able to talk to me like this. I would have dealt with you the same way Chris brown dealt with Rihanna grin. Anyways thanks to "European civilization" you can talk freely

PoliticsRe: Man Gets 24 Months Imprisonment For Stealing Recharge Cards by SEFAGO(m): 2:40pm On Dec 25, 2010
I don't know what you people are talking about.
The 24 months sentence is deserved. it doesn't matter if other judges hand down lenient sentences to mega crooked politicians. At least one Judge did the right thing in sentencing a crook who broke into an innocent man's shop and attempted to make away with his rightful property.

Who knows what impact the N2,500 would have made to the well being of the shop owner?
Abeg if you want to complain about lenient sentences to the rich, go ahead. but this man deserves his fate.
Not as much impact as politicians stealing billions would have on 120 million Nigerians. Lets be honest crime only pays in Nigeria when its done on the big scale. Chinua Achebe figured that out when he wrote "No longer at ease."

The guy could have taken a better approach, and run for council local chairman, so that he could have the right to steal legally. N2,500 ($20) is not worth a 24 month sentence. Life is not that easy to buy we get only 80 max, and you take 2 for 2500
PoliticsThe Death Of Political Music-fela Kuti In Perspective by SEFAGO(op): 1:33pm On Dec 25, 2010
Why is there no more political music insulting our politicians. As Fela rightly indicated music is an effective weapon for conveying discontent. However our generation now makes, and listens to crap music.

If Fela Kuti was alive, I believe he would be singing this version for Alao-Akala

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TDKaHENSbw&feature=related

This song for all Nigerians

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfDIakTWYeA&feature=related

e.t.c

Such music is obsolete in Nigeria. Infact fela used to be a beacon to people all over the world as a symbol of protest.

Now what we have is this, denigrating the image of Nigeria

Why waste your talent?
Are you by the way the little kid phuck_NL whowas apparently the first Nigerian to get a scholarship at princeton  grin  and was terrorizing everyone in the travel section grin. I had a wild guess from the start. How many user names you get sef  grin

As, I said previously, its easy to tell people by their character no matter how many threads they make

Would you rather have a foreigner as president too?
I kind of agree, a foreigner would be unbiased towards one side, since to be honest its impossible to be unbiased if you have the same cultural ties to someone. The fact is I might in theory disagree with some yoruba posters and their tribalism, but would not want to criticize them for the mere fact that they are Yoruba and we are on the same team. Being conscious of this fact, I might actually be more harsh on your threads and posts to avoid any form of impartiality.

We are Nigerians, we shouldn't be moderated by foreigner, especially a black person from SL for that matter
It is a shame how low we have come!
Yeah would have been better if we could get a white person lol  tongue

I say Mukina out, SEFAGO in!
My thoughts exactly. Moreover she is a girl, women should not be given such responsibilities. They are supposed to be in the kitchen. Where is her husband at? Should grab the womans arse to go and make some COUS-COUS

The bigot part is a figment of your imagination. Really its not fair that I have been here for so long, and I have never been allowed a moderator position. cry

I wanna have the chance to moderate the politics section.

I am also kind of a fair and rational person, and would likely be able to bring order to NL at a shorter time than most moderators since I am an avid observer of human behavior on the net.

@ omo Yoruba

With all due respect you are ultraretarded. Honestly they must have sacrificed your already retarded brain to one of the spirits in the okija shrine in your village. If not, I dont know how you came to the conclusion that I am dapobear.

I repeat, I have never changed my username without at least letting people know who I am. Generally, I say what is on my mind with out qualms, and fear of what is going to happen.

I honestly am not dapobear/ekubear. Guy seems cool and intelligent but unfortunately/fortunately  we are not the same. I am kind of erratic depending on my mood when I log on. You would definitely know who I am regardless of my username. One big thing about me is that I hate rrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdddddddddddddssss
like you, and would find it difficult to hide it regardless of my username.

I will be indifferent, since I have more things on more my mind. I might send her a text, and be like "mama go slow slow oo" grin
PoliticsRe: Do Nigerians Need To Learn Chinese? by SEFAGO(m): 12:28pm On Dec 24, 2010
Interesting. Usually, in universities - they teach you the alphabets first or at the same time with the english words. The issue with languages is that as you rightly identified- its best to learn it at a young age. Good idea, if possible try and make your kid learn german or french though, trust me those are more useful than chinese. Pennywise has succinctly summarized why chinese would not be that important. You learn chinese if you plan to get an internship in china or study sino relations of something like taht . Thats about it

If, and when I have kids, I would make sure they take one or two languages outside english. It does wonders when you apply for jobs. People I know who studied chinese, german, french got jobs in great firms all over the world. Companies thoug prefer your ability to speak the language up to business level as opposed to have taken a few classes.
PoliticsRe: Do Nigerians Need To Learn Chinese? by SEFAGO(m): 11:00am On Dec 24, 2010
As things stand right now , China has a  reserve some where near 2  trillion dollars,  we have to be advertising our selves so we  can get some of that as FDI as they look for  where to use that.
You have not elaborated how learning chinese would make us marketable. China wants us for our resources not to talk with us silly. Regardless, as long as we have oil, and africa has resources they dont give two hoots if you speak gobbledygook

Dude i subscribe to this idea 100 %, we need  to start learning Chinese ASAP.

Usually to do so you have to take chinese classes no be so?

My comment thus:

Do you know how hard chinese  is? It needs years of hardwork and dedication  before you can even say a few words, not to  talk of fluently speaking the language. Most  lazy Nigerians cannot even learn the alphabet not to talk of the whole language.

You suggested learning chinese but why? Wetin chinese have to do with FDI. They want your goods they dont wanna speak to you.
