Lets compile what we know and feel about OBJ, below are things we know about our Gentle Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin - Childhood and Education: Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston Massachusetts. He was one of twenty children. Franklin’s father Josiah had ten children by his first marriage and ten by his second. Benjamin was the fifteenth child. He also happened to be the youngest boy. Franklin was only able to attend two years of schooling but continued his own education by reading. At the age of 12, he became apprenticed to his brother James who was a printer. When his brother did not allow him to write for his newspaper, Franklin fled to Philadelphia. Family Ties: Father: Josiah Franklin – a candle maker and devout Anglican. Mother: Abiah Folger - orphaned at 12 and regarded as being being extremely demanding. Siblings: Nine brothers and sisters and nine half brothers and half sisters. He was apprenticed to his brother James who was a printer. Wife: Deborah Read. She had actually been married to a man named John Rodgers who fled without giving her a divorce. Therefore, she was unable to marry Franklin. They lived together and had a common law marriage in 1730. Children: Franklin had one illegitimate child named William who was the last loyalist governor of New Jersey. The mother of his child was never established. William lived with and was raised by his father and Deborah Read. He also had two children with Deborah: Francis Folger who died when he was four and Sarah. Benjamin Franklin as Author and Edicator: Franklin began apprenticed to his brother who was a printer. Because his brother would not allow him to write for his newspaper, Franklin wrote letters to the paper in the persona of a middle-aged woman named “Silence Dogood.” By 1730, Franklin created “The Pennsylvania Gazette” where he was able to publish articles and essays on his thoughts. From 1732 to 1757, Franklin created a yearly almanac called “Poor Richard’s Almanack.” Franklin adopted the name “Richard Saunders” while he was writing for the almanac. From quotes within the almanac, he created “The Way to Wealth.” Benjamin Franklin as Inventor and Scientist: Franklin was a prolific inventor. Many of his creations are still in use today. His inventions included: • The Franklin stove • bifocals • A flexible catheter • The lightning rod Franklin came up with an experiment to prove that electricity and lightning were the same thing. He conducted the experiment by flying a kite in a lightning storm on June 15, 1752. From his experiments he devised the lightning rod. He also came up with important concepts in meteorology and refrigeration. Benjamin Franklin as Ambassador: Franklin was sent to Great Britain by Pennsylvania in 1757. He spent six years trying to get the British to provide Pennsylvania with more self rule. He was well-respected abroad but could not get the king or parliament to budge. After the beginning of the American Revolution, Franklin went to France in 1776 to gain French aid against Great Britain. His success helped turn the tide of the war. He stayed in France as America’s first diplomat there. He represented America at the treaty negotiations that ended the Revolutionary War which resulted in the Treaty of Paris (1783). Franklin returned to American in 1785. Old Age and Death: Even after the age of eighty, Franklin attended the Constitutional Congress and served three years as the president of Pennsylvania. He died on April 17, 1790 at the age of 84. Significance: Benjamin Franklin was extremely important in the history of the move from thirteen individual colonies to one unified nation. His actions as elder statesman and diplomat helped ensure independence. His scientific and literary achievements helped him earn respect at home and abroad. While in England, he also received honorary degrees from St. Andrews and Oxford. His significance cannot be understated. Benjamin Franklin as Politician and Elder Statesman: Franklin began his political career when he was elected to the Pennsylvania Assembly in 1751. In 1754, he presented the significant Albany Plan of Union at the Albany Congress. With his plan, he proposed that the colonies unify under one government to help organize and protect the individual colonies. He worked hard over the years to try and get Great Britain to allow Pennsylvania to have more autonomy and self-rule. As the revolution approached with increasingly strict rules over the colonies, Franklin tried to persuade Britain that these acts would eventually lead to revolt. Seeing the importance of having an effective way to get messages from one town to another and one colony to another, Franklin reorganized the postal system. Realizing that his beloved Britain would not pull back and provide the colonists with more of a voice, Franklin saw the need to fight back. Franklin was elected to attend the Second Continental Congress that met from 1775 to 1776. He helped draft and signed the Declaration of Independence. OBJ same? |

All Yar'Adua fans, you can be happy now that your credible man got an appointment via incredible means. Yar'Adua is not a sickler and never had a kidney problem as you all claimed, but yah, something remains clear here that, No Elections were held and some people were declared winners, Voters were forced to vote for someone they don't like, lots of voters lost their lifes and above all, the Alphabet edited Agency which has been existing since the time of IBB helped in burying the profound transition of our democracy. Developing countries are passing through same expiriece, United States of America once passed through this section, and those that their fathers contributed nagetively to the development scheme of the united states are still regreting it, while thier generation to come will live to, too. Just like, Obasanjo, Atiku, Yar'Adua, INEC, them them, and all thier team have contributed right now, I know strongly in my spirit that Nigeria will not remain the same, and then, History will judge us all, all our great rigging. Apology will be not necessary in my case because I already said "Keep Your Mouth Shut" so, the next line of action is here, ACCEPT YOUR TEMPORATY FAITH, NIGERIA. Regards, Segoye2 |
I owe nobody apology, anyone that feels all this whole shit stinks really, should lead a protest, I, I shall follow suit. Lets, go to bed and start praying for another term of power delegation. |
Can you all keep your mouth shut please? We all know Mr. Man would be imposed on us all along, and still no one said "NO". Most of you here never voted and stay in there and talk!, the problem here is not PDP, the problem is everyone is afraid to die, if only 10's of thousands of faithful Nigerian's could stand their ground to this ruthless total rigging, even when 10's die or fall, some will still stand to shout victory. Even deep inside us, we know no election was held, but we had accepted it as our faith even before the election. Meanwhile, all the fellas standing for this great seat are not faithful fellas. But still, what happens to Yar'adua's present health condition? I believe this won't mean a little home, a little clinical rest! Whatever, lets move on, him, them, Atiku and the rest of others can't change the price of food in market, Atiku even confirmed that, that 80% of the occupants in Nigeria lived in Villages or whatever way he put it and election materials never got to their area, but since he was elected vise president, what has he done so that to improve lives in the nigeria region? Just believe in yourself instead of talking about this whole shame, the whole process is dame rubbish and I can't stop crying, Nigeria, welcome to another dawn of corruption, money cargo, etc. @ Admin, Lets change the topic to something like:- Hmm, Fair and Yellow Election 2007. Nigeria, God will come to your rescue soonest!. |
How do you view this presidential election? I feel same lapses swimming around during the previous gobernotorial elections repeating itself, Ballots boxes are seen around in Warri, Delta State, and I know you will guess it right; the voting materials are not ready yet as at 1.00pm, Which ever way, I hope is fair and great as the formal. and from you End? |
Yeah, I heard that of Anambra that no election held. So how com PDP won? PDP won in almost all the states. State like Delta State, Election was held in Ugwachukwu on Sunday and yet result was announced on Sunday afternoon from Abuja. When they were told that colation of boxes have not been done finally, they were asked to keep their mouth shut. The Whole warri witness no election, Ekpan witness no election, PDP men in one form or the order were caught making way with peoples vote, , Criminally Sincerely, This whole election was free, fair and Yellow. and this whole fairness stinks ![]() |
Atiku is Cleared at Last. So, What is gonna happen next? Find attached the File to that effect!. |
Hello fellas, lets share some pick up lines here: • Can I buy you a drink, or do you just want the money. • Your body's name must be Visa, because it's everywhere I want to be. • I may not be the best looking guy here, but I'm the only one talking to you. • Was your father a thief? 'Cause someone stole the stars from the sky and put them in your eyes. • Your daddy must have been a baker, 'cause you've got a nice set of buns. • Excuse me, but I DO think it's time we met. • I must be in heaven cause I've seen an angel. • Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? • Are you a surgeon? CAuse you've just took my heart away! • Have I seen you before? OH yeah it was in the dictionary under the word KABLAM!! • There must be a keg in your pants, cuz I want to tap that ass. • Are your pants from outer space? 'cause your butt is out of this world. LOL |
I like the husband, and the blind man too, they are both sharp fellas, so Labans, did the food seller gave his wife to d blind dude? pls. I wanna know |
I learnt election result in Delta State has been halted pending a final colation of the votes. Maybe real of Fake, only God knows. Please we need updates on this development and more. Meanwhile, how can you in your own views grade this whole election exercise? To me, I think will be same with Presidential election. |
The report on the election is conflicting. The result for Delta State was announced on TV that PDP won while on www.amanaonline.com, PDD or something was uploaded as winner, But for the whole process in Delta State, is a mess |
PDP just declared Winner in Delta State. But still with lots of observations, this might be, |
@ Crazykid, The fact that your street people voted never meant 80% of Nigerians have already voted. Or you have the Underaged that voted in the northern part of the country listed to the 80%? What about the states that never conducted elections? and what about places where there was a start of it, but later, gun shot was heard everywhere and dear voters were runing for their humble lifes? @ All, To me, less than 40 percent voted, and there is a prone level of riggin smealing everywhere, I think the whole process is a Bleep. Meanwhile, we expect a total pasting of each domain votes. All my friends couldn't vote, one even called and said his gonna flush his voters card to the toilet. ![]() Meanwhile, lets wait and see, enough of this hide and seek game, we are waiting OBJ, we are waitin Mr. Iwu, Time will judge, History will Judge us all. God save my dear country, Nigeria. @ Thread Author, Thank you for your great estimation, But you should have left it at 50% or even more than. |
Well Report reaching up from NNPC Housing Complex, Delta State shows that the Men came in not to conduct the election but to pick up their materials. their presense was noticed for about 1 hour or less, while about 15 to 18 persons votes, while the remaining hundreds of the residents where asked to go home, with the great word: "We have Closed". Meanwhile, in a Town called Edjeba, Election stated at about Past 12.00 noon, At about past 2.00pm, Gun was shot by some few youth, while Ballot box taken to an unknown destination. Comprehensive report will be coming on before 7.00pm Sunday. But still the question remains, for those that were deprieved of casting their votes and still gat the "Temporary Inec Funny Cards" what are they going to do with the naugty cards now? Please we need more reports. |
You are Welcome! Panaafrica. Give me one reason not to admit that This Election is dame failure? and instead of improving on out national issues, we are having a hike to decadency, Still need better grammar to qualify that, ![]() |

With the news on Punch News paper this morning, I guess INEC is confused!. http://www.punchontheweb.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art200704140354110 INEC raises the alarm on plot to declare fake results By Musikilu Mojeed and Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja Published: Saturday, 14 Apr 2007 The Independent National Electoral Commission on Friday said it had uncovered a plot by some politicians to declare fake results in the governorship and state House of Assembly election holding on Saturday (today). Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Maurice Iwu Briefing journalists in Abuja, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Andy Ezeani, said some politicians had perfected plans to declare fake results in the media and on the commission’s website. He therefore admonished Nigerians to ignore any result of the election that did not emanate from the commission. He said only INEC had the power to announce election results. He said, “We wish to alert the nation that some people are plotting to declare fake results to cause confusion. They are also plotting to hack into our website to paste fake results. “The INEC alerts the general public, the media, the election observers and the international community that in the general election that comes tomorrow (tday), only the INEC has the power to announce election results. Only complete and definitive results will be announced. There is no provision for release of bits and pieces of result for any election. “Incoming or unfolding results will not be released to the public or published. Any such, anywhere, even if it is found on the Commission’s website, should therefore be disregarded. Earlier, INEC’s Commissioner in charge of Publicity, Mr. Phillip Umeadi (Jnr.), warned that Nigerians should only believe results released through accredited broadcast stations. Umeadi also admonished Nigerians not to expect much from INEC, saying there was no way the country could have a hitch-free election. He said the commission could only reduce the hitches that might arise from the election to the “barest minimum.” He said, “There is no way you can have a hitch-free-election, but we are trying to reduce it to the barest minimum. We can’t stop people from trying to commit suicide. There will still be people trying to sabotage the process.” He also said that the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi; Araraume, was listed on the ballot in line with the Supreme Court’s judgment. However, the INEC official said the candidate would face a problem of eligibility since he is not being sponsored by any political party. (this statement is out of point) Umeadi explained that the governorship candidate of the Action Congress in Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige, was not listed because INEC did not get the court order directing the agency to do so. Earlier at another event, INEC’s chairman, Prof. Maurice Iwu, directed all the Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to ensure that all electoral officers swear to an oath. Iwu gave the order in Abuja while commissioning the Civil Society Centre located within the commission’s headquarters. He said the swearing of oath became necessary to commit all electoral officers who would participate in the exercise. Iwu said it was necessary for all officers to know the importance of the election and realise the consequences of any breach of the agreement. He said the role of civil society could not be undermined, as they were partners in progress. The INEC boss reminded Nigerians not to see the elections as INEC’s duty but the responsibility of all the stakeholders to make it successful. “On our part, we have done our bit with deliberate implementation of our strategic plans to ensure free, fair and credible elections,” he stressed. Earlier, the Coordinator of Electoral Reform Network (ERN), Mr Wale Fapohunda, explained that the commissioning of the centre would facilitate their desire to be in active collaboration with the commission. Meanwhile, INEC has released eight dedicated hot lines to members of the public for election complaints during the course of the election. The lines are: 07034632620, 07034632621, 07034632737, 08083523853, 08083523843, 08083523887, 08076705285, 08076705238. |
