PoliticsRe: Oyinlola Sacked As PDP National Secretary by SELFWORTH:
alaoeri: Dear God please more confusion in PDP till the party breaks into pieces.
Why are you praying for a particular party. Pray instead that God will have mercy on Nigeria and bring us leaders after His heart and those that will lead with the people in mind. Only then can Nigeria get better.
PoliticsRe: Oyinlola Sacked As PDP National Secretary by SELFWORTH: 10:51pm On Jan 11, 2013
This is a perfect example of:

" A house divided against itself will not stand "

Stupid people washing all their dirty linen in public.
PoliticsRe: Pictures From Funeral Service Of Gen. Owoye by SELFWORTH: 10:27pm On Jan 11, 2013
All friends and foe join the funeral procession including those responsible for his death. ...

Niger we hail thee!

Even when they are the ones who put poison in your food to kill you, their wailing will be the loudest at the funeral.

In this context , the way poster @ ileke-idi used "fatal" is wrong but i won't even bother trying to prove it to you becos if someone cannot spell then they wont know how to use a spell check either. It will be a complete waste of time . Am glad others agree with me.

Everyone in my office agrees that the way fatal was used in the CONTEXT and construction of the sentence was wrong.

I can't believe Nigeria standards have fallen so badly
that ignorance is now celebrated.
CelebritiesRe: Ngozi Nwosu Moves To Germany For Treatment by SELFWORTH:
Excellent idea.

God will perfect her Health in Jesus name. Amen.

If only Nigeria can invest in its own health economy so that it is accessible to everyone .

At the moment , we are using our funds to support other country's health economy. It's just not sustainable .

toba: lol. If we are to start correcting bad English expression on NL, we would have no time to attend to other important issues.

Sometimes I wonder if it's deliberate or genuine mistakes on the part of the 'culprits'
95% ignorance becos they start arguing about it so you know they think they are right.

My own issue is their comments ends up being meaningless .
CrimeRe: Lagos-Ibadan Express Way: Robbery Experience TODAY by SELFWORTH:
dessy002: Fatal needles vs Fatal Fist...
Fatal in the context of the story as used by Ileke is wrong. I don't know where you learnt your own English from but its certainly not Oxford level.

You need to use the right word depending on the context in which you are relating the story otherwise you sentence is meaningless to your audience !

And don't be silly like poster@ borntofuck who just went on the Internet to quote the definition of fatal without actually thinking about how to use the word. That action merely exposed his ignorance more.

If you agree with poster@Ileke-idi then I fear for Nigeria.

toba: Guy, if u were in such a scenario with ur wife or Girlfriend, u would think of ur own safety first before that of others. Nigeria is a terrible country
Too many truants on NL.

They don't actually realise the bad grammar gives a completely different meaning to what they originally intended.

Ignorant people . What sort of English is "how fatal"?

Anyway common sense is not common especially on NL. It's full of egomaniacs who absconded from English lessons. They go onto google and copy the definition of a word forgetting they need to use the word in the right context for it to make the sentence meaningful ....
CrimeRe: Lagos-Ibadan Express Way: Robbery Experience TODAY by SELFWORTH:
Did the other guy survive? How fatal was the gun wound?
Ileke what kind of question is this?

1.Fatal refers to something that :

Causes death

2. He left them all that scene so how would he know?

Bad grammar. Bad comprehension .

I thank God, I don't serve anyone but God. His predictions will come true for those who believe in such .

All these prophets of doom who are comfortable with predicting nothing but evil.

They predict everyone's death but not theirs.

Who makes them the decider? Have they not read Hezekiah's story?

As for me and my household, we are under the banner of God and no evil shall befall us in Jesus name. Amen. My own God is good and does not do evil.

Nigeria is known as the dumping ground of the world or else why would other countries be dumping and rejecting Niger people back to nigeria and keeping the good ones who add value to their country with them.

You mean Fire Service exists in Nigeria. lt probably only exists for the elite.

So many houses get burnt in Lagos, nobody turns up until scavengers start fighting over scrap.

I don't feel sorry for him. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

If it was a poor man's house, no one will care.

dplordx: Eeemm, i think Im in the "steady cash-flow" but boy, my baby mama needs to go angry
And im done with that church grin
This is not the best way to start the new year!

Think again. Some decisions may change the whole course of your life but when we make it , it's all done in a rush .

Yet the consequences are far more than what we can ever imagine. Then the regrets will follow soon after.
BusinessRe: How Much Does The Average Nigerian Spend Yearly? by SELFWORTH:
OP also missed out the most important expense :

Tithe

Its the best way to move out of up and down cash flow. Many people miss their blessing by holding back their tithe or reducing it. But it's actually a condition of God that "whatever you give He will return it to you in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over ( Luke 6:38).

Mathematically :

If you give 0. Gods blessing multiplied by your zero is zero.

If you give 10.00 naira . Gods blessing multiplied by your 10 naira is ten times Gods blessings.... And so on and so forth.

Lets not forget that God will ALSO keep the cankerworms away from your finances.

My advice is to ignore all the sentiments about Jet setting pastors and those who waste/steal church funds and obey Gods instructions.

If you obey God, His favour and divine blessings (including finance) will overwhelm you. Amen

It's a terrible curse to be greedy and not be content with whatever God has given you and you have to resort to crime to be rich.

They look haggard and hardened . Are they the only ones struggling in Nigeria.

They deserve their punishment !

babyosisi: I believe the mods should lock this thread and take it out if this is false alarm
Why do people go around wishing others death
And why should a thread without a link be on front page?
Seun and co need to do better than this
I think NL enjoys the notoriety of these stories that's why they don't do anything. I mean wishing innocent people dead is something but publishing and spreading it is gutter journalism !

Deputy Governor, Funmi Olayinka has not resigned, says Ekiti Govt. Says story of cancer and resignation are concocted.

Contrary to reports in the media that Ekiti State Deputy Governor Funmilayo Olayinka has resigned her position due to ill- health, theState Government says the Deputy Governors has not tendered any resignation and is also hale and hearty.
Whose report do we believe now?

God help us all from rumourmongers who posts topics on NL without checking and confirming it properly. If this was the USA or Europe , many of the posters will be living in court for slander !.

profola2be: Then it is your own wish to make her resign.
It is either you tell us those who made her resign or you keep quiet for good.
I don't know why we read meaning to everything.
Someone said she is resigning because of her health, you said it is not so.
May be you need to be appointed her PERSONAL ASSISTANT!!!
It makes sense for her to resign so she can channel all her energy into fighting the disease.

Cancer is not an easy thing to fight and in the long run , she did the right thing and gave herself a good chance of winning this fight.

Tooo many question marks about the cause of death. Only God knows the truth.

Medicine in Nigeria is 20 years behind other developed countries so I can't respect any comments made by any medical practitioner in Nigeria.

Pregnancy is a delicate thing and anyone can die from it. Many situations are compounded by the quack abortion doctors all over the place. Women please take note. Don't play 'chinchin' with your life.

Keep your body for your husband and limit the risk your body is exposed to by not sleeping with anything in trousers!

All these hypocritical comments about how much everyone loves their mum but treat the mother of their children like garbage and moan about their wives on here.

What is the difference between your mother and another mother(I.e the mother of your child)? huh
