RabbiDoracle: I used to think that this forum is a place where intellects, smart guys from different walks of life contribute ideas. But recent comments suggest otherwise and insults hurled at people who even tend to mediate.
The forum seems to have lost it just like SMN did and the moderators (if there are any) seem to be silent on this issue.
This is my last post here. I'm gone!
At least I can share information with few persons that I met here via other communication channels.
Good luck guys!
Happy investing!
Goodbye! I feel bad if Oracle should stick to His gun. Good hands are leaving. Sometimes most comments and contributions are not actually call for. However not everybody could be me. Whatever, don't let us kill the forum. Let behave mutually and maturely. |

RabbiDoracle: The truth is this: if you are not happy on your current job, you will never give in your best performance. The best thing is just leave the company and try out new things.
There will be 6 months period for the new company to monitor your performance and accept you or reject you. But if you know what you are doing, you will scale through this period.
There is nothing worse than a dissatisfied staff. He can never give his best for company X. If someone wants to burn the company sef, he will not even intervene. Reason is because he is not happy. Correct. He actually inferred that. ( No career plan etc) |

wanaj0: It is not an exception. You don't know anything about Company X and Y to make an informed decision. It is what you know about company X and Y that will help you make a choice.
For example, will you move from SEPLAT to JAPAUL because JAPAUL is offering you double salary? Do you know whether Company Y is able to PAY what they are offering? Will you leave GTB to join a microfinance bank just because of better pay?
If the two companies are known, then you can evaluate the company to decide which one is BETTER. The corporate culture of the companies, their management etc should be considered.
There are many questions to be answered before making a decision. It is not all about 'immediate' CASH. I think the matter has left that stage. He has tendered resignation, based on that they make a counter offer. Medicine after death. He is not asking us how to resign. I think the cruise is can I go back to Coy X? I am saying you have moved, don't look back, look forward.I know how some people use to take leave to evaluate an offering company before movement this is not the case. |

onegentleguy: Great assessment Sir Wanajo. This is why I insist its always best not to take decisions of this nature in a hurry. He needs to put himself thru a thorough scrutiny and weigh both coys in proper balance to arrive at a favourable end. ...money should never be the sole basis for a switch. How any of the company's decided upon will 'impact on his person' is even far more important. He needs to take his time.
But either way, I wish well !! Bro. He has already answered some of the decision you are postulating. He committed the first error in declaring to Coy X on why he is moving to Coy Y, ( no management would view that lightly). Obviously his service is needed they made a counter offer. ( what is behind that only God have all the answers) but it could not be too well. You forced your employer to increase your pay by threat of leaving. I am even tire self. No reason to look back. How many employee do that and survive the board room? Plz move on. |

Godisfaithful: All Ogas' have spoken well. My little contribution, go to Y company as explained earlier and invest the remaining 40% salary increase in Stock Market. You might end up buying company X later in the future with your Returns on Investment (ROI) |
