Thanks for the PM. My sincere apology for not responding. I'm going thru a #phase. Glad, Ticha gave a comprehensive response. Auctions have it's pro and cons, not just property auctions. The risk is just riskier in property! Pardon the tautology. In any case, the gain is also tremendously sweet with property auction. - mind the gap (property state, unknown history...) - be a DIY and/or have steady stream of known/reliable handyman and renovators - have eye for details - have disposable funds or access to funds free of encumbrances LaXxOnebody: |

Is your valid study visa for SA (South Africa)? Do you have NRF (SA) funding. If you have PhD offer in SA (with supervisor funding or dept/school funding partial or full or NRF funding), it might be worthwhile going for it. Let your wife get on-board with study visa for SA instead of dependant. While on the program in SA, you make your move to Ireland (or the YouKay). xpress101: |

I use Scimago to check if a journal is worth my time/effort. Obviously with time, even without Scimago, you'll be able to appraise the quality of an intended journal. The more you get entrenched in your field, the more you'll 'determine' journal relevance and quality, as well as draft quality manuscripts. MrJaay: A001: |

Let's start off on this note. - is the suspension with pay or without pay. Expectedly, it's with pay. - is there a letter of suspension. If so, did the letter mentioned... suspension in view of investigation towards disciplinary hearing ... If the letter includes statement similar to the italic, you would be under the ambit of labour matter. Then ACAS becomes your go-to for advice or to lodge complaint towards employment Tribunal. If not, you might have to go the Court route on civil litigation. Going employment dispute might work best though. bigtt76:PS: Bigtt76 asked if there's a recording. Kindly answer this. If you're unsure, you'll need to demand. NB: it appears your friend has been opening his mouth too wide. In law, silence is golden. I'll be careful to use the word 'app'. Pls don't get me wrong or think highly of this. Right from undergrad, more importantly at postgrad level, using reference managers is a must do! They help you collate and organise your reference source. You can 'store' copy of the articles as well. Most will assist you with using reference style (consistently), and you can switch ref style at will. There are tons of reference manager. For students, ask your dept or University research/library for what they subscribe to. However, you're not under any obligation or rather I should say, you're at liberty to make your own determination. I've done workshops (two now, others in pipeline) for universities in 9ja, as I see many struggle in this regard. PS: unlike Koonbey who is so bold, I on the other hand keep my professional profile away from NL. We all have our preferences and reasons. Mendeley was great. I say was. It was until they were bought over and started encrypting the local database. Well, they've now gone 'online' with the new Mendeley reference manager. Currently, I use Zotero. You have tons of plugins to 'make Zotero your own', AKA #customise There are ways around the 300MB data/file storage size. However, not many would use up the 300Mb. For me, I've got over 1.5Gb though If your university offers Endnote, by all means use it. Even if you leave and no longer have subscription, you can import into Zotero (minding file storage limit though). Inbtw, MS Word has an inbuilt reference manager, although not so versatile, but it gets the job done. Nelsmannnnnnnnn: hustla: 4 Likes 1 Share |

You've got excellent suggestions here. Thanks everyone. Reason why this thread rocks. Just bits here and there from me with some insights. I guess you're tired of audit work plan paper review, test of control, substantive test, recons, reports, mgt comments and probably weekly (billable) timesheet. I get the feeling having have my share of ITGC. Regarding pay, I'll be frank, sọju ni. Take your eyes 👀 9ff the dough for now. Keep going with the 'small' firm. You'll get more industry knowledge: vertical and horizontal With time, you can try the big 5 (4 + Grant Thornton) or the Banks and financial institution. Inbtw, NHS is also there. One way to ease into consulting is to get seconded on advisory engagements or move to advisory services units with the audit firm. This will 'fast track' into BA, if BA is what you truly want. The world is your oyster. Keep calm and get acquiring YouKay experience! PS: if you can, get your ACCA done and dusted. NB: With vertical and horizontal industry knowledge (coupled with your ACCA and maybe some BA courses - with or without), you'll land BIG and look back with smile. As it became evident today, the student visa dependant curtailing has been long coming. Is it truly justified, I don't think so. Has it or is it been abused, we all know the answer/truth in our hearts. Well, there are many changes that have kicked in or are in the pipeline. The statement of changes was published on 9 March 2023: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/statement-of-changes-to-the-immigration-rules-hc-1160-9-march-2023 Read more 9n UKCISA site: https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/studentnews/1993/Student-update-Immigration-rules-changes-9-March-2023. Changes affecting the Start-up route and the Innovator route The start-up route and the innovator route have closed. They arebeing replaced by a new Innovator Founder route. PS : the new route allows applicants to come to the UK and establish innovative businesses without the £50,000 minimum funds requirement! Changes affecting the Skilled Worker route: Minimum salary level increasing and going-rate for salaries will be calculated using a 37.5-hour working week. Changes to relationship requirements for partners under the Student, Graduate, and Skilled Worker routes: From 25 July 2023, the requirements will be housed in a central part of the rules and the each route having its own specific requirements There'll be changes to the Youth Mobility Scheme and the ETA (electronic travel authorisation) for certain citizen. Granted that these does not apply to most Nigerian. 1 Like 1 Share |
