Thanks for this. Insightful. Hopefully, more people get onboard VSCode especially those starting out learning and can't afford full suite IDEs Keep going at it. Quick one, I thought indenting was there before now. Probably, it's the way I've configured. As for pip I'll have to check again when I get to my system. I've got packages/libraries installed and import. Probably, I've got a setup out of the norm. 1 Like |

In credit application, inclusive of mortgage (bond as it's called in some countries), you have - credit worthiness (where your credit score weighs heavily); and - affordability (where your monthly financial commitments are scrutinized) The degree of impact each plays varies from lender to lender; more especially where it is automated with algorithm or AI/ML One quick thing on affordability is that if two applicants have the same credit score, and perhaps similar environmental (living) conditions, you may find that the one with £4000 income might be approved over that of £5000 or even £6000. Why, the 5k and 6k might have less (monthly) financial commitments. Lexusgs430: Viruses: Estroller: |

Based on the limited info you provided, what I can say is work persistently towards your CEng. You'll need your engineering body to register. ECUK, the regulatory body, doesn't allow #direct registration as CEng or IEng or EngTech or ICTTech. You must go through your engrg institution. For me it's IET: should be same for you. PS, though I maintain CEng, I currently do not practice as an engr. Question is; what side of electrical enrg do you tilt. What's your background; broadly speaking. Do you do PLC related, or power or good ol electrical wiring? With that said, being chartered isn't the all in all: might come in handy as you move to certain roles. What I can say is ensure you work on ('referencable') projects, try ramping up on CPE/CPD and be visible in your engineering institution in so far you can. I trust the Elders will chip in and advice you accordingly. Meogom: |

Thanks mimilyrics. Well said. @Op, you might want to take off some of 9ja attitudinal approach/mindset. PS: I'm not saying this in a rub-it-in or belittling or uncaring or unemphatic way. BSc or no BSc, what will assist is to articulate, in clear concise and impactful what those Oil & Gas experience were. For someone that's work in O&G, you'll know that it's wide, actually very wide and vast. Even the engineering side, is wide enough. Let's say we narrow down to the rig, which side were you involved with. Let's even say instrumentation, which systems, sensors and cabling were you engaged with? NB: this is just a pointer to how you might want to showcase what it is you've done in O&G and tie it into articulating impact: how you improve, what value you brought, what ideas you conceptualised that took your unit forward ... Inbtw, O&G from the upstream side is more of Scotland!!! tblackE61: 4 Likes |

Your clarity is loud and clear. So essentially, you've moved in already. Your contract started ticking, (Lexusgs430 assumed correctly). Your clarity also shows that you're on a 9 mths contract (Oct to Jun) and you have two more quarterly rental payments to make: 05 Jan and 05 Apr. Your rental agreement doesn't look like the norm. However, it is what it is. It's the subsisting contract. It has to be honoured. With that said, pay attention to Onecoder valuable suggestion: cordial, frank engagement with the landlord. Be factual yet 'firm'. Lexusgs430 suggestion remains valid. LaXxOnebody was not way off either. With the clarity you've provided, you have to engage the landlord to reason and effect changes. Whatever you do or the out outcome is or is not, one thing that must happen by 04 Jan is that you must ensure £700 is paid for the rent. You'll take each month as it comes, dealing with all the issues that might crops up. Regarding you ensuring you at least paid the one month for Jan and monthly subsequently, kindly guard against using the phrase, unilateral change, whether by you or the agent/landlord. Just use the term, circumstances or any similar. All the best. @Ticha, any suggestion from rental law point of view on effecting monthly payment in good faith? This seems one of your strong areas. Just like Bigtt76 indicated, it appears OP was not well articulated with the post. What I gather though is that - Husband got Student visa (former Tier 4) - Family came to the UK - Wife got sponsored work. Moved to skilled worker (former Tier 2) - husby remained on student visa (for reasons best known to them) - children successfully applied for dependent skilled worker visa - Home 9ff8ce with their 'evasive' data science big data picked dual visa for parents (one skilled worker, the other student visa). Home office apply the rule. Children have dependent based on least visa stay OP wants to know what's up and can gan! I concur with Bigtt76. What should happen. Family should have moved to skilled worker (husbot (as Ticha would say) and children become dependent). We've discussed on this thread switching student to skilled worker visa; the impact et al. See for instance (my previous attempt at part collation) semmyk: semmyk:Inbtw, ILR starts to count for all. Way forward: Husband and children apply for dependent (skilled worker) visa. PS: recently, last week I think, we discussed on this thread that a proper application will keep the current visa stay legal, until Home office reach a decision.
