I know I can probably research this but I am just curious, what does the Koran say about evolution or what do modern day (progressive) Islamic scholars say about it?
This muslim cleric believes that evolution is true and God is the one who is behind it:

The pastor has denied the story, so it doesn't count. Personally I think he pretended to be mute when they caught him to avoid being beaten:

I suddenly developed this 'strange' love for all of humanity irrespective of religion, culture and race, as much, I try to make it enjoyable for everyone around me. Afterall, what's the point in hoping for a blissful afterlife while living a miserable life. I never felt so happy with so much satisfaction.
Lennycool:
This is so true, being an atheist filled me with a deeper appreciation for life. It gave me something I never had with Christianity, which teaches you that the world was made for humans, this fills you with so much arrogance. The world is going to end anytime soon so we all shouldn't care anyway. Jesus is coming.
As an atheist I see the world as an interconnected system, we need to preserve it. Last time a toad entered my house I couldn't even kill it, I know and accept it plays a role in our ecosystem as do all life.
cloudgoddess:
I know this feeling and it's beautiful. A sense of humbleness and connectedness, combined with wonder, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for life, earth, and this universe.

From this standpoint the Abrahamic worldview just looks far too human-centric, egotistical, and greedy. Not to mention boring.
Um, I don't seem to have experienced what you folks are talking about. Becoming an atheist didn't take me to cloud 9 or anything like that.

But your proof is:
ALL RELIGIONS AND MYTHOLOGIES ON EARTH CONFIRM THIS
This is like saying superheroes and supervillians exist because "all superhero movies confirm this". The common element of many lies isn't truth.

If you believe in God:

Not true. You will still lose everything if the God you worship happens to be the wrong God. Only one of the Gods people worship can be true.

I thought they said chicken bones is bad for dogs?
All bones are potentially bad, but in my experience chicken bones are the safest, especially when raw. I avoid feeding my dog bones on an empty stomach, to avoid intestinal perforation, and I carefully limit the quantity of bones my dog gets in a day, so it's not more than what he can safely digest without the risk of constipation.

Because you couldn't find answers to your supposed 'difficult questions' you gave up on religion so soon...its either you were just a sideline christian or you just never wanted to admit to all the goodness God has done to your lives because of the bigger picture you were looking for, the answers to question that should not be asked but because off our always wantind to know mind you checked and you not finding it just made you a conclusion that 'THERE IS NO GOD'...wow what a way to bacome an atheist...
I gave up on just assuming that the religion my parents raised me to believe in is true. I decided to withhold belief until I got strong evidence.

Seun:
It happened at a time when I had many problems in my life and I decided to skip sunday fellowship because frankly, the fellowship hadn't done anything whatsoever to help me with my problems. Over the next week, I tried to examine the impact of my personal relationship with God on my life and I could only conclude that it had a negative impact on my life. If I had relied on my own understanding to make decisions, instead of doing things I thought God wanted me to do, my life would have been so much better. So I told my roommates that I'd be an interim atheist until I got some strong evidence of the existence of God and the truth of the bible. I'd no longer give Christianity the benefit of doubt.

(I could do that because in my quest to be a better Christian, I learnt exactly how the bible was put together, which was a mess. I'd had to think about the contradictions in the bible. I'd tried to convert a muslim who was able to defend the flaws of Islam as well as I could defend the flaws of Christianity, which made me realize that the only reason I was a Christian was by choice, due to being born into it. My quest to witness the pentecostal promise of signs and wonders had been fruitless. Even speaking in tongues had turned out to be not supernatural at all)

As an atheist, I started the process of rethinking my life, and everything now made so much more sense. All those 'difficult questions' I used to struggle with as a Christian who actually read the bible and tried to make sense of it were easily answered thus: "because there's no God".

Sir, are you aware that the desire of a man to have sex with His wife drops after few years of marriage, or even months? Therefore He desires someone new.
Women know how to make men want to have sex with them, and if a woman continues applying those techniques to her husband I don't believe he will become immune at any point. I've heard people talking about "keeping it fresh" by trying dozens of new positions and new role playing scenarios and costumes and makeup and hair. Obviously doing the same thing every night would be boring after a while, right?

Christianity EtcRe: Proof Of Evolution: The Imperfect Human Body by Seun(mod): 1:02pm On Oct 24, 2016
4everGod:
He also forgot that science claims that man is the pinnacle of evolution yet under the law of natural selection we did not get the best from our supposed ancestors but an eagle has a better eye sight than we do, a dog has better hearing and better smelling, a horse has greater stamina, a chimp can both walk and climb with greater ease than we can yet we share genes with these creatures they say we evolved from.
Science has nothing to say about any creature being the pinnacle of evolution. However, creationists do believe that man was created in the image of God and that he is the pinnacle of God's creation. The things you mentioned above speak against creation and in favor of evolution.

The way every part of the body works painlessly and smoothly does not depict a process still evolving it depicts a process that has been concluded and set to run in its finished state. We are not an evolutionary experiment. we are finished products that need no further tweaking.
You shouldn't say things like this unless you're sure that there are no ladies suffering from PMS in your vicinity. You'd get your ass whooped!

I often ask this question and I will ask you lennycool...you say we are still evolving right? So how is it that when a child is born with 12 fingers or 12 toes we call it a birth DEFORMITY or DEFECT and not see it as part of the evolutionary process? How is it that when a baby is born with a hole in the heart we call it a deformity and not a process of evolution?
We call a mutation a deformity or defect if we feel that it is harmful to the bearer. A child with 12 toes is likely to be mocked by her peers and enjoy no advantages. A child with a hole in the heart will probably die young after a difficult life. On the other hand, if a baby is born with a beneficial mutation such as muscles that enable her to run really fast or an abnormally high IQ, nobody will call it a deformity or a defect.
Christianity EtcRe: Proof Of Evolution: The Imperfect Human Body by Seun(mod): 12:27pm On Oct 24, 2016
felixomor:
Firstly, the whole human body have systems all linked and working synchronously.
As a result, picking out different organs one by one doesnt do justice to explaining the efficiency of the human physiology.
Its worse than isolation of all the members of a football team to rate the team.
By your logic, if the super eagles have a useless keeper who regularly scores own goals and misses easy shots, we cannot criticize the keeper's performance as an individual, nor can we expect that replacing the keeper with a great keeper from another team will help the team. This is not so. The flaws in the human body persist because evolution is imperfect. Our features are good enough for our survival, but clearly flawed.

Because the eye for example is a continuation of the human brain. Your octopus doesn't have the capacity of the human brain.
I don't see how having a better brain makes it necessary for us to have an inferior light gathering apparatus.

And u say a human being should have 4 or more holes on his face so as to feed properly. Lol
Please o, if u give birth to such a person, wont u run and blame God for also giving u a monster?
No, he's suggesting that instead of the nose and mouth being connected to the throat which is connected to the lungs and gullet, which causes a traffic jam that often leads to accidents (choking), the nose should be connected directly to the lungs while the mouth should be connected directly to the gullet. This would eliminate the risk of choking to death. However, we would have to speak through our noses, like dolphins. Speaking through our noses sounds weird, but if we had evolved that way, talking through our noses would seem perfectly normal to us.

I believe in micro evolution(small changes over time). it happens and it has been happening. but I've not seen any basis or proof for macro evolution(large changes over small period of time).
Macro-evolution is not large changes over a small period of time. It's large changes over a very long period of time. Macro-evolution is what happens when micro-evolution goes on for a very long period of time. There is a saying that little drops of water make a mighty ocean. What you're saying is that you believe in little drops of water but they cannot possibly make a mighty ocean. Look at the lion and the tiger, which are distinct species, yet so similar. Do you really think a lion-like animal couldn't evolve into a tiger-like animal? That's macroevolution, right?

Christianity EtcRe: Atheists In The House. How Are You Coping? by Seun(mod): 11:11pm On Oct 23, 2016
Some more thoughts:
YOLO1:
I have stopped going to church since 2014 but I officially renounced Christianity early this year. To be sincere with you, being a free man isn't a easy task. Though I have this inner joy and satisfaction within me
If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of religious heads exploding at the thought of an atheist experiencing inner joy and satisfaction.

but am still not happy the way my friends and family treat me. First thing that happened when I renounced my former religion is real hatred and acrimony among my family members. Though am of age, I still leave with my parents. Each time they wake me up for family devotion and I don't attend, the day is gonna be horror throughout. I would see the sadness and disappointment boldly written on my parents face. The worst of it is when they come back from church on Sundays and meet me at home. Most times, I pray for Sundays not to come cos I know what will happen on Sunday's afternoon. Really working to secure my accommodation just because of this reason as I cannot cope staying with them any longer.
I think I can help you with this, though I do everything wrong. Actually, this is not that difficult. (1) You need to act as if it's completely normal for you to stay at home on Sundays. Welcome them sweetly and ask them how church was. Maybe you could even casually ask them who preached and what the message was about. (2) You need to give them something to enjoy from your staying at home. For example, if you can cook, you can put yourself in charge of the food they'll eat after church. So they will come home to the aroma of delicious heathen food.

Recently, my girlfriend of 4 years told me she can't continue with the relationship as her parents also doesn't subscribe to my newly-found way of life. It's a thing that shattered my heart because of the love I have for her. She has been very loving, caring and supporting and I must confess, it's difficult for me to let go of her but tactically, the relationship is over now cos we can't resolve the religious differences cos am not ready to compromise my new believe.
It may be best for the relationship to end, but before letting her go, I think you should put her through a few sessions of street epistemology. These are discussions in which you examine the reasons for her religious beliefs and whether they are good reasons, without judging her. Unfortunately, it seems as if she is the kind of person who can't bear to disagree with her parents, so this may not save the relationship. Why bother trying to convince a Christian or Muslim to manage you when there are non-theist ladies out there pretending to be religious?
Christianity EtcRe: Atheists In The House. How Are You Coping? by Seun(mod): 8:54pm On Oct 23, 2016
I think atheists' best strategy for success is to stick together. We should befriend each other, date each other, etc. We like to think of ourselves as being unique but the truth is that we have so much in common. Atheists get along extremely well because we all use the same system to figure out what is true and, because of that, we tend to arrive at the same answers. Even when we disagree, our disagreements tend to be in areas where the facts are not so clear, so our differences of opinion do not bother us at all. We are not dogmatic. Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins totally disagree on whether we can get morals from science, but it's a pleasant disagreement. There will be no bitter quarrels over this monumental difference in opinion. OTOH we've seen imams fighting because one of them dared to suggest that the hijab is not compulsory.

just say Dogs don't like being touch at all. If u can't touch them in any of the listed places then where?
"Most dogs are comfortable being petted on the chest, the shoulders and the base of the neck. When petting these areas, reach in from the side, rather than moving your hand over the top of the dog’s head. Individual dogs also have specific spots where they like to be petted; common areas are the base of the tail, under the chin or on the back of the neck where the collar hits"
http://www.vetstreet.com/our-pet-experts/how-to-pet-a-dog

Prodeegee:
try this simple trick. ask your spouse to take the dog for a walk. once you get outside, ask him to hand you the leash. walk the dog(without fear) out and back home. Dont panic cos dogs sense panic. do this at least thrice a week. lemme know how far after 2 weeks.
This will also help, but I wonder if HolySteph has started feeding the dog yet. I don't think it can fail, especially if you hand-feed with your palm.
