I have to hide this thread because it's existence interferes with the spam filter. I appreciate the intentions of the creator very much, though. |

CabbieAC:Fine, I will remove it from the home page since there's no pleasing you. I was just trying to promote the thread. I thought it deserved it. |
I'll move it back to politics and close my eyes to the title which I still don't understand. I will also feature the thread on home page. Cheers. |
Agbaletu:What's the commonwealth part about? Perhaps we should create a new thread titled "Yorubas In Diaspora News Thread"? |
I've spent more time looking at this thread. It truly started out as a political thread, but then people decided to change it into a thread for all things Yoruba, thus turning it into something that rationally belongs to the culture section. Since people feel strongly about having this thread in the Politics section, I thing the best thing we can do is to refocus it on the original purpose. My humble proposal is to rename this thread as "Yoruba Political News Thread", move it back to the politics section, and put it on the home page. What do you think? Also we will offer amnesty to most of those who broke rule 2 and rule 20 over the moving of this thread, but further violations will not be tolerated. I take responsibility for the politics section situation since I have not said anything to the moderators. |
Rule 1 of Nairaland says, "please post all threads in the right section, and don't derail threads by posting off-topic." So the only factor that matters is what the right section for the thread is. Abusing me is not really relevant to the decision at all, it's just a very fast way to get banned. I am a simple person who only cares about doing what makes sense. You can only influence me by making good points that make sense. Bullying doesn't work. Certainly it is attractive to imagine that the thread has cured people of tribalism and I would like to investigate that claim because finding a cure for tribalism will really help this continent as well as the middle east, but the bottomline at the end of the day is putting the thread where it belongs. The culture section is where we put Yoruba threads, Igbo threads, Hausa threads, Fulani threads, Ijaw threads, Ibibio threads, etc. I know this because I created the section and I know what I created it for. However I will entertain rational arguments sent through the right channel (mail supermods link on the home page) I understand that the main issue is that people think that moving the thread to the right section will make it less popular, but I can solve that problem in other creative ways such as by posting the thread on the home page. I can also reverse my decision if I find a rational reason to do so, but the attempts at bullying won't be the reason. That violates rule 2 and rule 20. |
CabbieAC:Exactly. Based on how the forum is organized, this is where it's meant to be. So pls accept my decision to place it here to prevent bans. |
I've noticed that CabbieAC is really trying to make the thread political. |
Can't read the text. |
Picture fixed. |
PUSH1:My experience suggests otherwise. I used a Tiger 650VA for a while some years ago. The only 'repair' I conducted was servicing it a few times. If you have to do much more than that it's either you're not maintaining it properly or your generator man is a crook. Probably the later really. |
Lhasa Apsos are indoor watchdogs. They bark a lot but are quick to befriend people. They are not so small when fully grown and won't fit in chidifyn's handbag. Their hair is difficult to care for: it gets matted easily unless you comb it every day or so, and tends to cover their eyes, so regular professional trimming is required. Don't get one unless you enjoy managing a dogs hair. If you do it right, you'll get a lot of compliments and questions like "is that a real dog?" |
It is not safe to meet morally bankrupt guys in secluded environments, particularly their apartments. If he tried that in public you would have been free to slap him and maybe even report him to the police because there would have been witnesses. Just move on and stop meeting him or other guys in their houses or other secluded environments. Never allow yourself to be alone with that guy again, for any reason, or else. Also, make sure you tell many people what he did so if something worse happens in the future they will believe you. This advice may sound paranoid but it's worth it. Do not dream of dating this person even if you like him; and let him know that his unwanted advance is the reason why you will never consider him so he won't try it with another girl. |

Say no to animal cruelty. It's not worth it. |
The issue is not whether people are following you or not. That's completely irrelevant. If they post your personal information, just report them. |
Talk to your vet. Many human drugs will harm and/or kill a dog. |

samsard:Actually, I take pride in my understanding of the fundamentals of Economics and I think it helps me a lot, but at the time I created this thread I was allowing my political preference for Libertarianism to cloud my judgment of Economy issues. I no longer think that this is a great idea. It's still better than what we're currently doing:- using most of our earnings to promote importation and the consumption of petrol and kerosene. |
OLAADEGBU:Some Thoughts: 1) What part of the bible talks about abortion? Is there any bible verse that commands Christians not to abort their foetuses? 2) No one loves abortion. Abortion is awful and painful. It is at best a lesser evil in any scenario. It should be minimized. That is why democrats support the only humane policy that has been shown to reduce the rate of abortion, which is to promote the use of contraceptives. Many places have seen have seen a huge reduction in the rate of abortion after investing in sex education. Only the pregnant can abort. 3) Can you elaborate on why you think the democrats represent slavery, propaganda and tyranny? I think those are Republican things. |

No it didn't. I just checked. |
