babadee1:General Buhari has not denied his share of responsibility for the coup. He was aware of the coup before it happened and he supported it. |
PassingShot:How would it have collapsed Nigeria, exactly? What did they do wrong that has not been done by subsequent military and civilian governments? (and Nigeria is still standing) |
docadams:You folks keep mentioning this jubilation. Does it justify the termination of democracy? Didn't people also jubilate when Buhari was overthrown? |
blesie:Ok that's great. It means he knows that what he did was wrong and will (probably) not do it again. Happy married life, sincerely this time! |
joseph1832:Yikes; which rule did I break? |
blesie:Apologies. Talking about apologies, has your wonderful husband apologized for assaulting you repeatedly as a punishment? |
Her husband forced her to have sex with him against her will, as a punishment, whenever they quarrelled, repeatedly. Many people are in jail for doing what he did just once, to someone they didn't swear to love and to protect. People who do such things can do many other bad things. |
Good question. I think the drastic fall in the value of the naira is a factor. Let's allow unbiased industry insiders to answer the question. Besides, in some places the rice of diesel has fallen to 137/l. |
LouisVanGaal:No democracy in the world isn't constantly abused. No democracy is free of corruption. All mature democracies have faced these problems. |
We used to be number 1. |
Now it just shows a star. |
feelamong:He has not accepted that he made a mistake. If you don't admit your mistakes and correct them, you will keep making them. Today he is a democrat, contested presidential elections 3 times and went to court for justice on those 3 elections..A cynical person would say that the reason he is doing all this is because he no longer has the military capability to take power by force. Look, I have decided that it may not be bad to have change, but we need to understand the new man before giving him dominion over us. |
peckhamboi:Apologies, I'm trying to embrace the idea of GMB as president, but I just felt really bothered by the statements above, The coup happened over 30 years agoThe interview happened very recently. and I remember vividly there were wild jubiliation all over the country after the coupEvery president has enemies - for example, the millions who voted against him. If the president is overthrown, those people will jubilate. |
From his recent Channels TV Interview: Are you sorry for bringing to an end the Shagari government? GMB: No, I'm not sorry, because I mentioned why we did it, and we proved our case. That's a democratic process that could have extended. GMB: So when you are a democracy you are entitled to steal the treasury dry, and put your people into pauperized positions, and destroy institutions, and destroy infrastructure? So you blame Shagari for that coup? GMB: Don't personalize. I'll blame the second republic... For that? GMB: For that. And when we came out we told the nation why and we conducted enquiries, documentary ones, not just hearsay. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_487PhkxUQ (start at 5:37) So he still believes it is ok for the military to overthrow a democratic government if the democratic government is corrupt. Incidentally, many people believe that the current government is also corrupt. If the General's view is right, then a military coup in 2015 is justified... Do you agree? (I strongly disagree because dictatorship is a greater evil than corruption. You can fight corruption within democracy) |
This smells of empty propaganda. What details have emerged, exactly? |
LogicPower:Thank you, but I don't think how well I defend myself is important. What's important is whether or not this story is true. Any ideas about that? |
JonBee1:Oh, I think this is just a big misunderstanding? I didn't say it's a lie, I said it's probably a lie. That's just an educated guess. |
ilugunboy:I felt very sure that it was a lie, due to the way the OP presented the story and his use of words. If I'm proved wrong, I will surely apologize. |
ilugunboy:I'm aware of the modus operandi of PDP and APC e-trolls on the forum. Based on this, I predicted that the claim was a lie. If it happened, one of you would have recorded the video and posted it here for all to see instead of saying "I swear it's true". I am just an e-troll skeptic. |
Probably a lie. |

truthbastille:swim cannot do everything. Report to moderator. |
Cute. |
chibanj:It's not a Nigerian thing; that's how voters all over the world choose who to vote for. People make most decisions based on their feelings. |
We have been number one for ages but Konga got a big boost in December due to holiday shopping traffic and overtook us. We will be back!! |
mutter:If that happens then there is a problem of immaturity with both of them already, because they should know that bride price is not actually being paid to buy the bride. That it's just a way for the wife's extended family to extract money from the unfortunate bridegroom's family. |
Tactfully let him know that you think the demands are outrageous and you're interested in helping but only if he wants you to help. If he requests your help, help, and make sure that you never ever mention it during any future quarrel with him. This is extremely important. |
