She's not a Caucasian. Caucasians don't have short hair.

the mum is very aggressive, and will pounce on anyone she doesnt know.
What about the dad?

2sexy1: And besides, una don over pamper the dog sef. Have you ever eaten a food that just make you lazy? I have bro... let alone a dog
I pamper my dog more than anyyone, and he's very aggressive. He loves to go out to harass people just after eating something very nice.

DickDastardly: To me, Musiwa has been an "eccentric" Nairalander. A maverick to many. Mr Seun, what's your take on Musiwa's contributions to Nairaland? (concidering his penchant for multiplying instead of virtually dying when banned) cheesy
We the super-moderators and politics section moderators have not been consistent about banning him for breaking the rules, unfortunately.

montestic: mr seun , could u pls mention top 10 monikers u knw on nairaland apart from d moderators?
Yes, I could, but I don't want to!!

UjSizzle: What kind of games do you like?
I used to play racing games (e.g. Need For Speed), football games (e.g. FIFA and PES), and FPS Games (e.g. Halo). Now I play Angry Birds.

What's the most challenging out-of-your-comfort zone thing you've done?
Climbing Olumo rock many years ago. I still shiver when I think of what may have happened if any of us lost balance at any point (the ladies in our group wore high heeled shoes, for goodness' sake). And for what benefit? There was nothing up there and we did not win any trophy.

If your friends were to attribute one thing to you, what would that be? (I mean what item would you never be found anywhere without?)
Internet access.

When you aren't on the site doing what you do best or programming, what would Seun be seen doing?
When I'm not using a computer or tablet or phone for work, research or entertainment, the most interesting thing I might be doing is working with my dog: training, exercising, supervising his meals, etc. The other things I might be seen doing are just boring chores.

naturally: Pls, what's the difference BTW 'like' and 'share'. I don't seem to get the diff
Like means you like it. Share means you want your followers to read it too.

superstar007: Btw Seun, when will shares in Nairaland be up for grabs and Nairaland will be listed in the NSE?
Probably never. Running a public company is no fun. The only advantage of going public is that it can make you a stinkingly rich person like Dangote. In exchange for the constant headache of keeping your large and ever-changing collection of shareholders happy always.

Austeenx: I want to know why there are too many tribalist in this forum.
The problem is not their existence but their level of activity. We the moderators have not been banning them consistently enough.

I recently saw a picture of Onyeka Onwenu when she was young, and an early recording of the song "you and I will live as one". The combination of that picture and the song was so beautiful that I feel like crying whenever I remember it. Is that a celebrity crush too?

xynerise: Pardon me, I meant Traffic Section grin
If we see a lot of traffic threads, then we might consider creating a new section for them. Otherwise, the section will not be worth having.

Xtarxhyne: seun...y do u like dogs?
I've lived with dogs, read a lot of books about them, and recently bought one. They are wonderful animals; very loving, loyal and helpful.

lalasticlala: Mr Seun, pls(1) who is your favourite nigerian celebrity? 2) do u have a celebrity crush? if yes, who? thanks
1) Chimamanda Adichie. She is extremely good at what she does and consistent. Every story she writes is great. 2) Chimamanda Adichie.

If you learnt that 50% of men were cutting their noses to look more attractive, wouldn't you be "obsessed" with intact noses?

Yes, of course. Why not quickly create it before someone else does, so you can get all the credit?

You once said you're a nerd, are you satisfied being one?
Didn't you get the memo about nerds taking over the world?
Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page, Marissa Meyer, etc are all nerds.
Why wouldn't I be satisfied? wink

@DJicemob: The mods are volunteers who do what they do not for filthy lucre but for personal fulfillment and enjoyment and influence.. I've never met any moderator in person. Vstuffs: Seun,I just want to ask how and what are your approaches in stopping the way most some members of nairaland scam fellow Nairalanders most especially in the technology market, auto section, business section.
When people are scammed and they complain, we will do our best to block those scammers from using Nairaland to scam more people. But that would be medicine after death for some people, so I would urge everyone to be extra-careful when doing business over the Internet.

Nobleval: How many dogs do you have...and of course their names.
I have one dog. His name is Sloan. I got him in June.

chinedumo: Dont you think it will be better to make the 'siqnature' in form of 'status' that can be edited from the home page?
Not exactly, but we are looking into a feature that is quite related to that.

What do you hate most about nairalanders? What frustrates you most?
I don't hate anything about Nairalanders. Nairalanders are awesome and lovely. However, I'm not so happy when people break the rules.

Dont you think your forum should have an official break time? Timeout. Even if it is for 30mins every week/day. You on the programming level will know.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Why don't celebrities boast of belonging to nairaland like they do of twitter?
I'm not sure. You should ask them and let us know what they say.

missterious: If you could ask for advice from anyone, dead or alive, who would it be & what would you ask?
Good question. I can't answer it, though. If it actually happened, I would spend weeks thinking about it until I figured out the right answer.

What is it like working from home?
It used to be mind-numbingly boring when I worked from my bedroom, but now I have a spacious air-conditioned office, so it's very nice indeed.

Don't you think adding IAMA and Meme sections will make NL more interactive?
The sort of things that have become popular on Reddit have a lot to do with the site's unique voting-oriented interface, which we don't share. IAMAs and Memes got sections on Reddit after they became popular, but they are not yet popular on Nairaland, so let's wait and see.

PetsHow To Train A Puppy To Poop Outside by Seun(mod):
kuzee: oga seun plz how do i train this dog to stop pooing all over the place even at my verandah..
- Get a small cage/crate for the puppy (or a collar and chain).
- Make a decision about where you want the puppy to poop.
- Whenever your puppy is inside or in a place where pooping is not allowed, watch her closely.
- Whenever she start sniffing the ground, it may be a sign that she wants to poop. Take her outside immediately.
- If the puppy starts pooping while inside, immediately say "STOP IT" loudly and rush the puppy outside to finish up. No beating pls.
- If your dog poops inside, clean it thoroughly with bleach to remove the smell. Dogs like to poop where they've pooped before.
- When you take your dog outside to poop, wait patiently and point to where you want her to poop.
- If she poops outside in your presence, praise her and pet her immediately after she has finished pooping.
- The above step is important so your puppy understands that the problem is not pooping in your presence but pooping inside.
- If you are busy and can't watch her closely, take her outside to where pooping is allowed.
- If she must be inside, lock her in a cage or chain her inside with 0.5m to 1m of freedom (dogs don't like to poop where they rest).
- Note the times when the puppy is likely to want to poop (after eating/drinking, waking up, and playing) and take her outside.
- A very young puppy has to poop frequently, so you must take her outside regularly or let her be outside where pooping is allowed.
- The above steps apply to urination as well.

kuzee, your verandah is part of "inside" since you don't want her to poop there. Don't allow her on the verandah without strict supervision.

onihaxy: Mr seun, does nairaland has an office complex like facebook? Or its been operated virtually?. If it has one, what is the address?
Nairaland has been operated virtually since inception. I did set up an office last year but I closed it so I could re-open it with the right staff.

My own question is that, why are we not able to know our 'shared post' like our 'Liked Post' even if we can't share it personally.
That was a bug and it's been fixed. You can now see how many times your posts have been shared.

Erm my question is Mr Seun why did you delete some of my good post?
Sorry about that. Please mail the supermods using the link on the home page. They will review the posts that got deleted.

from what I have read about yuh,you sound very humble...and you r still young to be thinking abt dat now
Thanks, but I'm actually not young. I'm 32. shocked But in my heart, I'm twenty-something ...

tolutweety: On a lighter note, what is the relationship between you and mukina2 wink cheesy. she's been around for quite some time weathering every storm that took out other MODS. I want to believe she plays more than just an official role
We've never dated! Mukina2 stays around because she really loves Nairaland. I am very fortunate to have her on my team.
PetsRe: Cross Breed Between German Shepherd And Rottweiler or Causacian by Seun(mod): 8:56am On Aug 28, 2014
Don't do it. When you cross dogs that don't look similar to each other, the resulting offspring usually looks weird and ugly. The result is not a perfect blend of the features of the parent. Rather, each puppy gets a random subset of the (visible and hidden) features of its mother and a random subset of the features of its father. So one of them may have the color of a rott, the face of a gsd, ears of a rott, GSD coat. Another might have the head of a rott and the body of a GSD or vice versa. And you would have to keep the ugly puppies or sell them very cheap.

To understand your intentions better so I can propose an alternative, I'd like you to answer the questions below:
1) Which features of a Rottweiler, that pure German Shepherds don't have, do you expect the mixed puppies to have?
2) Which features of a German Shepherd, that pure Rottweilers don't have, do you expect the mixed puppies to have?

Lovetinz: Hi Mr. Seun,
What kind of Books do you read and who are your admired historical persons?
God bless you.
At any point in time there is an aspect of human knowledge that I am preoccupied with. What I do is that I read all I can about the subject online, and if I'm not satisfied, then I browse Amazon.com to get the best e-books on the subject (well-reviewed books written by or about people who have actually achieved or practiced what their books are about successfully), buy them, and read them on a tablet or my phone. I won't take any book seriously if it's not based on actual experiences or science, because some people are fantastic writers but their ideas are simply wrong and therefore will not work. When I feel I have a sufficiently solid understanding of the subject for my needs, then I'll move on to the next one. Subjects I've studied in this way include film-making/writing, finance/investing, HR, politics/publicity, & maybe dogs.

I rarely read fiction, but when I do, I prefer realistic and thought-provoking fiction. For example, A Song of Ice & Fire by George R. R. Martin.

If you could add your personal philosophy, that would be great too.
I'm not sure that I have a single overarching personal philosophy; I just have many things I believe in and many other things I don't believe in.

bamzz: Seun,
I appreciate your pace setting efforts in not just creating this forum but maintaining it as well. Nairaland means the world to a lot of Nigerians. Keep the flag flying.
Thanks!!

My question: if you will recommend a book to Nigerian entrepreneurs, which will it be.
What do you need to know right now in order to move forward in life? What knowledge that you lack is holding you back? I'd recommend the best reviewed books on that subject written by (or about) people who have practiced what the books teach very successfully in real life.

DickDastardly: Ok Mr Seun, i am sorry this particular question should have come last. Tell us, be honest about it. What's the exact expression on your face each time you click the BAN botton? Naughty smiles? indifference? Or what exactly? wink
Frowning and biting my lip. I feel indignant and determined.

taiocol: Why do you censor other forums in here?
We censor spammers and copycats because their actions are annoying. We feel they are trying to reap where they did not sow. That's not fair!

tolutweety: But my question is: why are you not married yet. I want to believe you have a lady in ur life sad wink.
I guess I'm not yet sure about who I want to spend the rest of my life with, and also I don't have a strong desire to have children for now. Being a man I feel I can afford to wait until I'm sure about what I want in this area and I'm able to get it without feeling that I'm settling for less.

I saw that there was a need for a truly Nigerian forum, after spending a long time on the Internet trying to create successful businesses. Yes, we make money by selling ads to business-people who want to sell products to our members or to encourage our members to visit their websites.

DickDastardly: Good evening Mr Seun, may i start by asking you how your day was?
Great! The new Shared Post feature we launched today is working out well.

Ademat7: My question: do u have a charity foundation or an outreach like Rise network?
No, but one day I will start an organization to help people who are suffering because they have undiagnosed ailments that they are unaware of. A classic example is a child who is considered "unserious" because he/she cannot see the board in class but doesn't know that glasses will help.

ProgrammingRe: Stats For Nairaland by Seun(mod): 3:03pm On Aug 27, 2014
We use CherryPy as a minimal framework. We've written simple routines for routing, templating, db pooling, etc that suit our needs perfectly.

We like servers with lots of RAM (for the database) and solid state storage (to make maintenance operations like backups & table rebuilds fast).

We switched from SMF because we felt that we understood the needs of our forum and could write our own code to satisfy those needs better.
