Desanta: The next bid date is march 7th.I think it's a bi-weekly thing. If so, the next bid date should be Wednesday the 6th and you should probably submit your bid on the 5th. castrokins: Please advise on where which company to contact. I don't mind tying it down as long as there is good RoIContact your bank. They will give you a form to fill, deduct the funds on the day of the auction, and deposit your interest immediately after. |

OP is trying to advertise. Thread locked for being misleading. |
val_dubem: Its up to you to decide what investment/bizness you'll do.He's not looking for a business to do. He's looking for an investment. |
@mayorflag: When he contacts {United Securities Limited}, what kind of help is he likely to get? What would they ask for? What will he get in return? |
The monthly debate was started because the general forum was too rowdy to handle intellectual debates. We want to make the forum good enough to make every thread in the politics section as good as a formal debate. |
Interesting question... |
Is there anyone the solution is not working for? |
I will lock this thread because Nairaland is against all illegal activities including investing in illegal oil bunkering operations. |
spriteB: Good job guys! I just stumbled upon this thread; just what I've been looking for! Just a quick question plss...... If I go for the 91-day bid, can I get to 'roll-over' my investment after the 91 days if I so desire, just as the case is for fixed deposit? Thanks..Yes. |
Maybe he's joking. |
The key issue is to prevent the situation from deteriorating, not passing blame. Let her go and give her a good severance package. |
sheweezy: @seun u r a genius, was getting fustrated already.followed ur procedure and it worked, thanksThanks, but @adeoba is the one who came up with that solution, so I guess he's the genius. ![]() |
This following solution to this problem has been tried by a couple of Nairaland members. It works! adeoba: this is what worked for me: |
@castrokins: You can buy bonds with just 10k, though your money will be tied down for at least 3 years. |
If you want a guaranteed investment then you should go for FGN bonds or treasury bills. They are guaranteed by the Nigerian government. |
I noticed this question on another thread: kingphemy: @all Can one trade on the NSE <snip> in the privacy of your home or office just using your computer without any 'middlemen'? kingphemy: I just want to know whether you can trade from your PC conveniently without recourse to physically contacting your broker. Can anyone help us out with this question? |
@ifyalways: Type ipconfig /flushdns in the run box on your start menu, press enter, and let's know what happens. Also, try using a different browser. If the problem is solved, tell us what you did so others can try it; thanks!! |
Logicboy03: Just in case you didnt get the memo. No one is promoting atheism here.Ok. Let's talk about humanism and skepticism. I think humanism is a dirty word to a Christian. It sounds as if it means the worship of humans instead of God. Exalting man above God, etc. So don't promote humanism. Skepticism is not so bad, but it sounds like a dirty word too. It sounds like the opposite of faith. Every Christian believes faith is good, so skepticism must be bad. If you set out to promote that, many Christians won't even listen to you. I think the best thing to promote is science. Science is alright; it's God's wisdom revealed to man. People know science works; but they believe it has limits beyond which only religion can provide solutions. So let's teach them more science. Let's make them see that many of the things they attribute to supernatural activity have already been addressed by science. Eventually, they may see the pattern - that things that are not explained by science today may be explained by science tomorrow, and so they do not really prove the existence of God. Etc. |
ooman4: But the religious complex is an inferiority complex that brings laziness and lack of self confidence and belief in one's ability . How do we deal with that?I'm not sure but I think most religious people have areas of their life where understand the need to be pragmatic and realistic and to use their best judgment. If they are exposed to the non-religious ways of looking at things over a long period of time, they may eventually accept that religion & morality are just other areas where it pays to be pragmatic and realistic and to think things through by themselves. We should just continue to discuss religious and moral issues with them respectfully; just exposing them to another way of looking at life and the world. That doesn't mean many of them will become atheists, but I don't think that's the goal. The goal should be for them to be able to improve their lives by making better decisions as a result of having a more truthful understanding of the world around them. I have two good friends that are atheists in every way that matters, but they still claim to be Christians because they don't want to be ostracized by their family and community. I have no problem with that; I think their liberal approach to Christianity is still an improvement over fundamentalism and extremism. |
What party does Afam4eva support? I think he is Pro-GEJ. |
I don't think promoting atheism per se is worth it, but I like what James Randi is doing - promoting skepticism. He doesn't say "I want you to be an atheist". He conducts experiments to test the claims of people who claim to have supernatural powers and at the end he says "we've shown you the evidence, you make up your own mind". I like that approach. If religious people think you're trying to convert them, they'll close their ears and their minds (persecution complex), so we shouldn't do that. We should just challenge them to use their 'God-given' brains more often. |
Isn't it rather obvious that you should not marry someone you just met? ![]() |
