Bélla3: So you are not even sure? Interesting.I'm not sure about what human beings and animals looked like millions of years ago. Many scientists have tried to figure it out, by making educated guesses, but those guesses are not perfectly reliable. However, we have enough evidence to support the idea that life has evolved over a very long period of time. We have found bones under the ground that cannot be matched with any animals that live today, and we have discovered patterns in where the bones are located that suggest how the changes may have gradually happened over time. There is no other theory that explains the evidence that has been uncovered, so it makes sense to believe in evolution. However, science is not rigid. We do not accept evolution by faith; we accept it because it's the best explanation that fits the evidence. If someone comes with a better explanation tomorrow, it will be accepted by scientists. That's how science works. Science is not a collection of hard facts; it's a way of figuring things out. |
Freiburger: And religion is?"God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind." Numbers 23:19. People believe that the bible is the literal word of God, even though the book is about 2,000 years old. You won't see scientists stubbornly clinging to 2,000 year old theories that are not supported by recent evidence. In science, a kid can challenge a professor's theories if his/her evidence is compelling. |
honeychild: Then please explain how scientists fashion ape-men complete with furry face and bodiesI agree with that. I do not understand why evolutionists are so confident about their guesses about what prehistoric animals looked like. However, that doesn't change the fact that evolution is the best theory about how things came to be. When someone comes up with a better theory, we'll adopt it. That's the difference between science and religion. Science is dynamic. We learn new things every day. We are open to change when new facts emerge. I think some scientists go to far when they try to portray speculative theories as hard facts. |
I'm very sorry that the way my suggestion was implemented by Tgirl4real has made people unhappy. I think Tgirl4real should select two members to be co-winners of the Family section posters of the year award if debrief08 gets the highest number of votes. This should make all parties involved happy. I think Tgirl4real should stop acting as if I changed the rules of the contest; I only offered a suggestion which made sense. |
dekung: Guy are you for real at all? Last time I checked Nairaland was created by a self proffessed atheist, Seun Osewa. He then in his magnanimity opened a board, called it religion so that retaards like you could post yet you are here campaining that atheists should respect your belief. Are you a learner? Nairaland is an atheist creation, deal with that. If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. If you feel your faith is being insulted in an atheist creation and community then go to yukos or whatever it was that Christ Embassy created. Capische?I have great respect for Christians on Nairaland, and I've been doing and will continue to do whatever I can do to make them happy without harming the forum. Though I'm an atheist, I was brought up in a Christian environment, so I understand and appreciate the Christian view. |
ekt_bear: Why is Seun trying to bring down his Nigerian media rival na?I'm a big fan of Linda's work. I think she's vastly under-estimated by most web entrepreneurs (except me!). However, this dress is too slutty. ![]() |
Is it really hot if nothing is left to the imagination? |
Too short. |
It's not ok to imprison your spouse because he/she cheated on you. That's kidnapping and its a felonious offense. |
Billyonaire: 1. It is very wrong to post confidential government memo online. Oluwole letters from Osun Government might start flying around soon. It's not a confidential memo. We got it from the honourable governor's public Facebook page. For obvious reasons, he wants us to read it. |
I hereby declare Siena as the winner since he's the only nominee. Moderator, please update the main thread with this info. |

@debrief08: "mukina2 banned debrief08 from Family for A Poster posted her story for advice, she didnt deserve insults. at August 28, 2012 at 12:48:01 PM. Ban expired at August 29, 2012 at 12:48:01 PM" |
Thanks. |
Tgirl4real: Lol @ Debrief.Na Seun go answer that question o. Ujujoan: I feel so sad for Seun. Sitting in his little room and making 'rules' for an online forum! He must really live a sad sad life!Let me make 1) I don't have anything to do with the banning of debrief08, and I was unaware about it until I stumbled on this thread. 2) I don't have anything to do with the rules of the poster of the year contest. I was not consulted when Jarus and mukina2 made the rules. 3) I have not been engaged in any conversation with Tgirl4real about debrief08. She has not "confirmed" anything from me. I found this thread by chance. 4) Tgirl4real says debrief was banned by one of the admins, but that's not true because I'm the only admin. debrief was banned by a supermod - mukina2. Personally, I think people who have been banned in the past should be allowed to participate. I hereby urge Tgirl4real, mukina2, and Jarus to please allow debrief08 to contest. Thank you. |

She just brought shame on her husband who worse still does not "give a damn"There's nothing shameful about a human being's body. It's an unfortunate and largely irrelevant mistake. |
@ekt_bear: I don't beef MySQL. I use it for all my web apps because it can be trusted to deliver good performance. |
