Secondly it is not in the country's interest at this time that the naira should appreciate.I think what everybody wants, except forex speculators, is for the exchange rate to remain constant, so we can ignore it and face our respective businesses. Neither going up or going down. |
If this were true, you would have given us his full name so that we can verify it independently. |
I think I had some of my terminologies mixed up. What I meant to say is that unlike languages like Java, Python does not force you to program using OOP constructs if you don't feel like using them. My real problem is with programmers using unnecessary OOP constructs for problems that would be best solved with a procedural or functional approach. I just want you to know that there's life outside OOP! |
Why not? I need someone to design a lean and mean template for a classifieds website. |
Thanks, but you're not fully getting it. The government does not directly control the exchange rate; the government manipulates it by selling foreign exchange dollars to banks. The naira tends to appreciate when the CBN sells more dollars, or depreciate when the CBN sells less. And those dollars come from the sale of Nigeria's oil. But the price of oil has fallen very steeply over the last few months, so the CBN has less dollars to sell, and the result is a depreciation of the naira. It's not as if the CBN decided one day that he wants to naira to depreciate and then magically that came to pass. Nobody wants the naira to depreciate, not even the CBN, but with the price of oil falling, it couldn't be helped. The CBN is not "punishing" anybody. Our free lunch merely came to an end. |
he government made it to depreciate to prevent capital flightNo, the government had to allow it to depreciate because the price of oil has gone down and the government doesn't have enough dollars to meet the demand for the dollar at former prices. |
Booms and busts are a fact of life, just like summer and winter. They will survive. |
We can fight over whether Google Chrome should be in beta, but the fact is that it is not in beta. |
Christianity is a more liberal religion, so even those who are not real Christians are able to participate. |
auwal87:Google Chrome Is Out Of Beta. Here is the Google Announcement. Next time, try checking the site before asking someone else to check. ![]() |

The instructions used to be on their website, and now they've removed it. Silly people. ![]() |
Buy the original copy of windows and the error will go away. There is no problem here. The price is right. ![]() |
This is illegal. Locked. |
auwal87:As a webmaster, you need to install every browser. It's not a matter of choice. ![]() You also need to know that google chrome is no longer in beta. Unbelievable, right? Firefox remains the best overall browser because of the plugin ecosystem, but I won't bet against Google. |
Forget Internet Explorer. It's a crappy, dangerous browser. Get Firefox. Firefox is the best browser on the Internets right now. You should also get Google Chrome, the fastest browser on the web right now. |
