Most of the human traffic is guest traffic. Losing one visitor isn't such a problem, unless there are hundreds of people who visit the forum every day because of that person, but most rule-breakers actually drive people away.

IBBFan used to play the role of impersonator before I changed his name. He used to pretend to be IBB. Kapish?

If your friend is so concerned about what people think, then he won't make a good husband.
In that case, the "house help" in question should dump him. She deserves more respect than this!

If her husband was the one who committed this same sin, she would forgive. What a pity. Not a true story anyway.

Those with broadband can already download this stuff from the Internet.
Don't you know that by uploading files in a Nigeria network you're going to make browsing slow for everyone else?

I'm an atheist, but I don't agree with this point. All the good girls in Nigeria are born again Christians or muslims. sad

I realise that I have a PR problem, so I'm trying to fix it. I've seen how perception problems can harm a company (DSTV). I want to understand why people see me as the enemy. As long as they don't lie against me it's all ok.

Technology Market › Re: Brand New Dell Laptops For Sale At Cheapest Price! by Seun(mod): 1:37am On May 09, 2007
The applicable line on the website you linked says, "24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive".
That means if has a CD burner and can read DVDs. It cannot write DVDs. Is it that hard to understand?

The help section says:
Watch DVD Movies on your notebook. Install software (stored on CD or DVD). Copy music onto your notebook from CDs. DVD-ROM

Copy music from your computer to CDs playable in your car, portable CD player or home entertainment system. Occasionally backup data, music and pictures. Watch DVD movies. Install software (stored on CD). Copy music onto your notebook from CDs. CD-RW

If you plan to do all or a combination of the activities listed above (both DVD-ROM and CD-RW)
CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
By writing "CD-RW/DVD" as "CD/DVD-RW" (can you see the difference? hint: the word order),
he's deliberately giving us the false impression that this combo drive can write DVDs, which is false.

No PC or laptop manufacturer I know sells combo drives that can write DVDs and can't write CDs.
I can't believe we are arguing about something so straightforward. Freelance has already accepted his fault.

I'm surprised at prodgalson especially because he's normally a very smart person. Are you so easily conned? huh

Romance › Re: Would You Marry A Househelp? by Seun(mod): 7:16pm On May 08, 2007
The bottleneck is just how to get the buy-in of his parents.
I'm always surprised that people see this as a problem. Personally, I won't ask my parents whether they approve of my final choice or not. I'll just set the date with my partner and invite them, and it'll be up to them to decide whether they want to attend or not. I don't think it's wise to waste one's life seeking someone else's approval.

Afterall, in our culture, most children do 99% of the job of a "house help". Does that make them inferior beings?
Sometimes, people lose their parents and they have to work for someone else. There should be no shame in that.
Family › Re: My Mum Is Too Harsh; Help! by Seun(mod): 7:08pm On May 08, 2007
It depends on how old you are. Can you put your age on your profile please?

If you are above 21, the solution to this problem is financial independence (and getting your own flat).

If you are under 18, then there is no solution: children have no rights in our culture, they are like slaves. embarassed

Another approach to the problem is to develop some screaming skills of your own. It works, but it also backfires. smiley
Romance › Re: Would You Marry A Househelp? by Seun(mod): 6:59pm On May 08, 2007
You said she is brainy. If she is brainy, then she is far from an average househelp.
She is hardworking. She is gentle. She is pure in heart. She is even beautiful. I think your friend has found a gem.

Being a house help is just a business that happens to be in demand. There's no shame in honest labour!

Giving him a second chance is not an option. The reason behind the slap doesn't matter..

If previous girlfriends had not forgiven him, he would not have slapped you. Don't even think about it.
The more you forgive an abuser, the more he becomes emboldened. Do not even dream of forgiving him.

You don't have to insult him or provoke him further. Just cut him off completely. He will learn in a decade or two.

Exactly! If they want to beg, let them beg. If begging is their career choice, and it pays well, what's the problem?

however sometimes you go overboard like a certain German.
I can't believe that Red_Lips actually compared me to a mass murderer (Adolf Hitler). I can't even murder a lizard!
There's a big difference between banning people on a web forum and killing people. I hope you can see it.

As for everything else, he's an egomanaic.
Aww, what a nasty word. Those that support a man would say he is bold. His opponents will say he is arrogant. It's the same thing. One man's arrogance is another man's self-confidence. It's a matter of perspective.
