I'd like to look like the musician that recorded the song titled "I'm Walking Away". wink

I told him after he told me about the detective was that he was a freak!
Yes, calling him a freak will definitely help your relationship. You can call him a mugun or idiot. That'll also help. lipsrsealed
Romance › Re: My Boyfriend Is In A Hotel With Another Girl by Seun(mod): 9:52am On Apr 19, 2007
Can you explain the circumstances that led to his being in the same hotel with this girl? Is she interested in him?

Supposing something happens. How does that harm you? Anyway, if you don't trust him, then dump him! cheesy
Business › Re: How Socially Responsible Are Companies In Nigeria? by Seun(mod): 9:50am On Apr 19, 2007
Thank goodness there are still good sensible people around
Trust me, you can make your point without being insultive. That is what a "sensible" person would do. wink

The only thing that might be separating your company from the others in a very competitive market is your CSR.
The effectiveness of corporate charity as a public relations tactic is not being disputed by any one of us. wink
Business › Re: I Think I Need Some Business Partners! by Seun(mod): 9:43am On Apr 19, 2007
Guys and gals,

I appreciate your interest and support, guys. Let's start from the first idea:

A popular blog (equivalent to a newspaper column) for Nigerians who are online. The blog will discuss the various issues that are relevant in the Nigerian media scene on a daily basis, and will be maintained by a full time writer.

As my business partner, I need a writer who is willing to take a risk and face this blog without pay for 3-6 months, after which it is expected to become profitable. I need someone who really loves to write, because I'll expect the writer to work full-time on it for 2-5 years after the site becomes profitable.

My role will be to (a) Host and maintain the website (b) Promote and market the website using the resources at my disposal, including the Nairaland website (c) Create a viable long and short term success strategy and motivate the writer to continue to follow it. (d) Guide the writer towards maximum productivity.

The writer's role will be to (a) Update the blog with new articles consistently and to the best of your abilities. (b) Face the blog as your full-time duty. (c) Cooperate with me to make the site a success in every way.

The relationship between me and the writer won't be an employer-employee relationship at all; it will be governed by a contract. You will be paid a fixed percentage of the site's revenue as long as you keep your terms of the contract.

If either one of us is no longer able to honor the terms of the contract, it can be dissolved at any time by using a "shotgun clause" such that the person that the site most will pay a fair price to the other person (A will pay the price that B is ready to pay to control the site). The purchaser will own the site 100% - that's the exit plan.

So, that's the first idea I came up with about a year ago. I actually started a blog at www.naijarita.com, but my love for writing is not great enough to motivate me to maintain a blog full-time. Is there any 'writerpreneur' on this site who is ready to work with me to make this dream a reality?

Thanks a million.
Romance › Re: Which Of These Two Women Should I Marry? by Seun(mod): 9:34am On Apr 19, 2007
My answer to your question is "definitely not woman B". No matter what, you must not marry woman B.

Why not take girlfriend A to a doctor and let them investigate the cause of the pain she experiences during sex? It may be something that can be cured by a minor operation. However, if the problem happens to be that she has been mutilated by her parents (female circumcision) then you are out of luck. You'll have to manage; God help you!

It's not a utopian idea. It's a racist and skin-deep shallow idea.

Whatever problems he faced, others have faced the same problems without murdering others. This person should be condemned for his crime and forgotten. We shouldn't react in a way that'll encourage copycats.

Politics › Re: Greedy Atiku. Why Can't He Step Down? by Seun(mod): 2:43pm On Apr 18, 2007
OBJ was accused of spending PTDF money on a national concern without the senate's permission - that is autocracy. Atiku was accused of enriching himself with some money - that is theft. One is worse than the other.

However, concerning our honorable President, have you noticed that Yar'adua has a political puppet-master? wink

Romance › Re: My Boyfriend Has Hired A Private Detective To Investigate Me! by Seun(mod): 1:23pm On Apr 18, 2007
it will only take a man who loves you to do this.
There is nothing wrong with a little bit of possessiveness in a romantic relationship, but that is not really love.
Your statement is wrong because a man who is cheating on you can be even more possessive than one who is not!
Romance › Re: My Boyfriend Has Hired A Private Detective To Investigate Me! by Seun(mod): 12:53pm On Apr 18, 2007
What do you, of all people, need a boyfriend based abroad for?

And what is private about the "private" detective your boyfriend hired now that he has told you about it?
The detective in question is now a "public" detective. Your boyfriend is just trying to bully you into abstinence.

What was the content of the political broadcast in question? Was it sponsored by Atiku? Was it defamatory?

The guy that killed himself must have been suffering from depression. Is he the first to be dumped by a girl?

As for the guy that killed others, there is no excuse for that. He is a criminal, he is a murderer. That is all. No excuses.

I think it's possible for Pat Utomi to be the president of Nigeria in the future.
I would like to cast a protest vote for him next week, but I can't. I think he should start at the state level.
