The burden is on your to provide the proof that Okotie has character and discipline.
All I said is that I can't see any evidence of that. Charismatic people tend to be pliable in character.

That's why concentrated political or military power is never a good idea. Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

Libertarians are enemies of both conservatives and liberals.

Unlike conservatives, we do not support corporate welfare. Unlike liberals, we do not support "social" welfare.

Before Yahoo Yahoo came up, Nigerians were sending scam mails through NIPOST. Yahoo only made it much easier!
Business › Re: Zinox Computers by Seun(mod): 7:34am On Apr 18, 2007
Are u guys saying that Zinox is a hoax?
I'm saying that Zinox doesn't impress me . Please feel free to be impressed, but personally, I am not.

4 Play:
I am using Dell Computers PC,Dell is the 2nd largest PC "manufacturer" in the world, behind HP.Dell does not manufacture anything,it doesn't even assemble. Its PCs are mainly made in Taiwan and China and then the Dell brand is put on it.

That is how many Computer and electronics manufacturers operate these days. Many of Sony's product are not made by Sony.If Zinox operates that way, that is not unusual and is even better for at least they assemble products unlike someothers who simply put their brand names on the finished article
Dell's business model does not rely on government intervention or special favors. That's the difference. Apart from that, Dell's company actually did something innovative - allowing people to customize their computers over the phone.

Personally, I am not impressed by the configuration of their computers. I can't buy an inferior product just because it's "Nigerian". How can you be selling "branded" computers with 256mb of memory in this day and age?

One more thing: Zinox not really a Nigerian company. The CEO is a Nigerian, but as far as I know, the investors and key personnel are not. It's just like Globacom in that respect. So they do not deserve any special favors. wink

Technology Market › Re: Wanted: Laptop With Excellent Battery Life by Seun(mod): 1:24am On Apr 18, 2007
You claimed:
512 MB RAM
But according to those specifications:
128 or 256MB SDRAM (PC100)

* No Onboard Memory
* 1 Dimm Socket, max expandable to 256MB
That's why I hate doing business in Nigeria. People are always trying to cheat you. I can't stand it! angry
Politics › Re: Why Can't Nigeria's Oil Revenue Be Paid Out To Citizens? by Seun(mod): 1:24am On Apr 18, 2007
Hmmm. All the insults notwithstanding, I have done my homework and I remain convinced that the only result of this move will be a cheaper dollar leading to a temporary import boom and nominal deflation, (not inflation).

Only one person is really to blame in this incident. The perpetrator of this heinous crime.
What makes it even more sad is that he's getting exactly what he wants - international attention. What a pity.
Business › I Think I Need Some Business Partners! by Seun(mod): 11:03pm On Apr 17, 2007
Hello,

Sometime ago, I started working really hard on creating a real world business. Each time, I would sit down and formulate all sorts of strategies for a new business idea and show them to trustworthy people. After further discussions, I would discover that the business requires a manager with skills I don't have, and drop it unceremoniously. This month, I decided to focus on web business until further notice.

However, there's a lot of research I've stumbled upon that someone with a more appropriate personality - someone who knows how to deal with corporate bodies and the public and who is not easily discouraged by the complete madness and unreliability of the Nigerian business community - might be able to use. I'm thinking of starting 2 or 3 businesses by partnering with such people. Each collaboration would be a partnership; and I'll be the strategist.

If you're interested, please let me know what kind of business you are looking into. I'm going to be updating this thread with various business ideas I've stumbled upon, so you can pick the one that's made for you. (99% of them would require a partner that is based in Lagos or Ogun State). This will be an educative journey, if not exciting.

Thanks!

Politics › Re: Atiku To Contest In 2007 Presidential Election - Supreme Court by Seun(mod): 8:12pm On Apr 17, 2007
Atiku is not a credible candidate. You don't have to be intelligent at all to figure this out. He's a mere annoyance.

As far as I am concerned, Utomi is the most credible candidate. His "core message" is that serious-minded people with good intentions need to contest in order to displace people like Atiku who have no good intentions for us. He believes that if we allow these power-hungry jackals to continue ruling us, they will eventually destroy the country.

He could have established himself as the most popular non-winner towards the 2011 presidential elections.

Ok. Hmm, why not just do the best work you can, so that his decision to hire you will not turn out to be a mistake? If you're working really well, then you won't have to feel guilty about the good treatment you get from your boss. If your boss believes in you, then I think he's supposed to side you and support you and all that.

So please try to stop making those "little mistakes" of yours. Give him a reason not to regret employing you when you refuse to date him. I don't know why your boss likes you so; perhaps you can show us your picture? wink

That's a good question. I'm concerned about the old batteries on refurbished laptop computers.
The exact model number of your laptop is also important, but only if you want to sell it. "Use google" isn't it.

Tmoni: have you ever come across "half bread is better than none"
Which is the "half bread" and which is the "none"? Doing business in a honest manner cannot be "none".
Corporations should maximize their profits and pass it on its investors/employees so they can use it for charity.

If I am investing my own personal money in charity, I'll make sure that every kobo counts. That's the right way.
(But if you're throwing your big company's money into charity, you won't be as diligent as the private philanthropist.)
