webguru:Tagging, for the sake of this discussion, means organizing the forum with user-defined keywords, as used on the website del.icio.us. I like the fact that it allows one thread to be assigned to multiple categories if applicable. For example, instead of having to choose whether to file our current topic under "Webmasters", "Nairaland", or "Business", tagging allows the topic to be filed under all three, which makes it easier to find. The weakness of tagging if the keywords are not predefined is that one might end up with a very biased set of keywords. For example, most of the keywords on the home page del.icio.us are only interesting to web designers. That is good for a community with a narrow focus, such as a website for web designers, but potentially bad for the general-purpose forum I'm planning. |

There will be no war. We're not interested. Those who want to fight should fight inside their prison cells. |
Why? Is it because they love us and want what's best for us? ![]() |
Thanks for your replies. I can see that we have great faith in the illusion of an omnibelevolent government. I can see that we would rather task the government to do impossible things, then complain when they don't happen. It hurts me greatly to have to abandon this topic without getting just one sympathetic response. Too bad. Compared to politics, business is golden: when your ideas are underestimated by others, you make more money! If this was a business idea, I wouldn't have to waste my time trying to convince strangers. Business rocks! ![]() |

I wonder if there are new members who are yet to see this carton. What do you think about it? |
You can also be a businessman who employs graduates. It only takes time and effort with intelligence. |
Welcome. |
Did you get one? |
Use a better title next time. ![]() |
Alas, you have to seek jobs for yourself. No one can do this for you!! |
Alas, you can't. For now. Sorry about that, brother. |
We are not unhappy because we were under military rule, and now we are under civilian rule. Things are better! |
That is true to some extent, but what can any average team do when playing against power-houses like Brazil? |
Thanks. Whenever I'm feeling blue, it always does me good to read threads like this one. |
Nice one. Moving to Job section. |
Moved to Advert section. Don't worry, a new 'Services' section is coming up soon! |
You know you have a bad idea when the Socialists start to applaud you, while free marketers knock your ideaAny idea that leaves politicians with less money to steal and boosts our self-esteem as Nigerians can't be bad. There's nothing anti-capitalist about the idea of letting Nigerians manage 'their' own money. You guys are wrong. My idea is not anti-capitalist, but perhaps anti-conservative. Most 'capitalists' are not really free marketers. Perhaps you guys don't like the idea because deep down, you believe that most Nigerians can't be trusted to make good financial decisions by themselves. You believe that the government should make decisions for them. |
Hmmm. Web design is hot right now, as well as system administration, but by the time you graduate things might be completely different. Start here: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/board-34.0.html ![]() |
Is a diesel generator preferable to a petrol generator i.e. more effocient? What if I want to run an air-conditioner? |
If she reports to the police and later gets shot, at least the police will know who is responsible? ![]() |
Labor laws favor the employed at the expense of the unemployed, and I think that's wrong. If I have to choose between earning a pittance and earning nothing, I will rather earn a pittance. An employer can only be accused of wrongdoing if he breaks an agreement in the employment contract. And we do not need any special labor laws to deal with that case. We just need a more responsive justice system. |
jaybaby, do you want to marry the poor man? |
Releasing it gradually means not paying every citizen at the same time. It doesn't mean paying them a fraction. |
Moved to Education section |
