This is a gross exaggeration. A big star will command a lot of money, but not any amount. Many big stars don't have Oscars. Adam Sandler doesn't have an oscar, but he earns a lot and performs consistently in the box office. If an actor genuinely believes that an oscar is his ultimate reward, such an actor is simply a victim of hype. The oscar award is just another over-hyped popularity poll. It's 99% hype and 1% no-big-deal. Nairaland polls are better!

Hehe, that's just hype. An oscar is only as valuable as the money it puts in one's bank account. I'm a little bit pissed off because the Oscar is nothing special - just a popularity poll - yet it gets so much free publicity.

If my parents are ready to charge me for the food and shelter they provide, I'm ready to pay. Why should I leave this perfectly usable accomodation for an inferior one in the name of independence? I'd rather live with my parents and save a little than live "independently" and have no savings. Financial independence is more important, as I see it.

I live with my parents (at 24+) because it's cheap. I'm not yet ready to start burdening myself financially.

destroying valueables, textile materials and other
goods worth millions of naira. Though the cause of the
fire as at now is not known, residents think the
electric power which was restored after an outage
which had been experienced in the market all day was
the likely cause of the fire. It took a combined team
of the anti-robbery police men attached to Allen
Avenue Junction, men of the State fire service and
residents to put out the fire which a razed a section
of the market.
