Technology MarketI Need An Adjustable Light Stand by Seun(mod): 12:05pm On Jan 13, 2007
Hello,

I need an adjustable and portable light stand I can place a halogen lamp on.
Like a tripod, but for lights. With a height of up to 2.2 meters.
Is there anyone here who knows where I can get or build one?

Thanks.

Christianity EtcRe: The Truth Most Christians Dont Know by Seun(mod): 11:47am On Jan 13, 2007
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.
How can a "sinless" Christian commit a sin? If you are "sinless", then obviously there is no sin to confess.
TV/MoviesRe: The Real Problem With Nollywood by Seun(mod): 11:36am On Jan 13, 2007
Whatever the problems of Nollywood, I'm sure that they'll be solved by the market process that brought us internet access through VSAT and 6 naira per minute phone calls on fixed wireless networks. The free market process.
EducationRe: Is Pyrate Confrantanity A Cult Group? by Seun(mod): 11:11am On Jan 13, 2007
Well, if you want to know from their members, why not join them and find out first hand instead of relying on second hand, third hand or even fourth hand information?
Don't follow this advice. If he joins and finds out that it's a dangerous cult, he won't be able to leave!
First-hand information might be the most reliable, but it's the most expensive way to learn. You can lose a lot!
TV/MoviesRe: The Real Problem With Nollywood by Seun(mod): 7:56pm On Jan 12, 2007
People like sequels because they won't be much worse than the original.
As for remakes, isn't an excellent, modernized remake of a 1920 movie better than a terrible original 2007 movie?

Hah. That is a completely different opinion. Name one good movie that is not selling well in Hollywood.
LiteratureRe: Chimamanda Comes To Town by Seun(mod): 7:44pm On Jan 12, 2007
She might benefit by targeting her stories at a lucrative market e.g. the WAEC recommended novel market. wink
You may be the best writer in the world, but you won't sell if you choose a topic that really excites people.
TV/MoviesRe: The Real Problem With Nollywood by Seun(mod): 7:25pm On Jan 12, 2007
The difference between Hollywood and Nollywood is that Hollywood has a good system for distinguishing between mediocre stories and excellent ones. So you are much less likely to stumble upon a bad Hollywood movie - it just won't get to you! We just need to encourage people to start reviewing Nollywood movies more systematically.

Let's suppose a Christian is having sex with his best friend's wife right now. Does God still see him as sinless?

Pet lovers far outnumber vegetarians in most parts of the world. No producer wants to offend a potential customer.
TV/MoviesRe: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by Seun(mod): 7:25pm On Jan 11, 2007
If I was to create my own business show, the prize will be a huge business loan. Loan! Here's why:
If the winner is worthy of the title, she'll be able to make a lot of money with the loan. She won't need an outright gift.

So, back to the Intern Show. When can I watch it on TV? What time, what channel? Thanks! smiley

For a similar price, you could buy a ship and keep it permanently at sea. "Sealand" can't produce its own food.
BusinessRe: How To Sell A Business Idea To A Company by Seun(mod): 7:14pm On Jan 11, 2007
The best way to sell an idea is to create a product or service with that idea and then sell the product!
All other approaches are not guaranteed. There are a lot of ideas sitting in dustbins all over the world!

hope this comes to commercial use. but it will be bloody expensive.
It will not come to commercial use if it's "bloody expensive" compared to both cars and small airplanes.

Nigerian movies get me thinking. They get me thinking about how unrealistic on every level their plots are! cheesy
Christianity EtcRe: Should Women Preach? by Seun(mod): 6:29pm On Jan 11, 2007
trini_girl dear, the problem is not primarily with the male chauvinists proudly talking rubbish on this thread.

The problem is with the male chauvinists that wrote the bible. Those are the big culprits here! cheesy
TV/MoviesRe: Nollywood And Animal Cruelty by Seun(mod): 11:18am On Jan 11, 2007
It's not the animals that we are to be concerned about,
it's the people that can't tolerate the depiction of such acts in a movie.
If we eliminate animal cruelty in movies, it will be for the benefit of sensitive people, not the animals.

Do Nigerian girls operate by these same rules? I don't think so. They are more submissive (i.e. mumu-ish).

Christianity EtcRe: Where Is Saddam? Heaven Or Hell? by Seun(mod): 10:19am On Jan 11, 2007
Are you talking about Bathsheba here? Where he sent her husband to the front line to die?
I'm talking about when Saul asked him to bring 200 foreskins to pay for his wife, Saul's daughter.
He killed 200 Philistines to get the foreskins, and God was not bothered about the brutal act.

I'm going to open a new thread for a comprehensive study of "human right violations in the bible". cool
Christianity EtcRe: Where Is Saddam? Heaven Or Hell? by Seun(mod): 12:17am On Jan 11, 2007
David was not a mass murderer, he executed God's justice against a people who did not believe in the true God and worshipped false gods instead. They were enemies of God and His chosen people.
In that case,
"Osama Bin laden was not a mass murderer either. He executed Allah's justice against people who did not believe in the true Allah and worshipped false Jesus instead. These Christians were enemies of God and his chosen people - the muslims."

Give me a break!! David and Joshua committed genocide.
They killed men, women and babies for belonging to the wrong tribe.
David killed 200 philistine men who did nothing to him in order to "pay" for his wife. And 'God' loved him for it.

What if he was a man close to God's heart like David? Then all his murders will just be ignored!
