RomanceRe: Is It True That Marriage Is A Capital Intensive Project? by Seun(mod): 9:51pm On May 09, 2006
If you listen to your friends properly, I think they were not talking about marriage at all. They were talking about wedding. And they were not saying it is capital intensive, but they were suggesting that you approach the wedding in a less capital intensive manner. They were suggesting a less capital intensive approach to wedding.

However, your marriage will benefit from a healthy stash of cash. Don't blow it all on just the wedding. Cheers!

CrimeRe: How Would You Help Reduce Neighbourhood Crime Rate If You Had The Chance ? by Seun(mod): 9:05pm On May 09, 2006
Long term: Catch them young. Compulsory education. Deal with bullies when they are young so they don't grow up into terrors. Those that can't be helped should be permanently institutionalized.

Short term: Crack down on arms dealers, leaders of crime syndicates, or other people who benefit the most from the chaos. Reduce taxes on small business to stimulate employment and create opportunities for youths.

Christianity EtcRe: Nigerians Shouldn't Practise Imported Religions Like Christianity And Islam by Seun(mod): 8:05pm On May 09, 2006
The Americans also imported Christianity from Britain which in turn imported it from Rome (I think), which ultimately imported it from Isreal! The Hausas and Fulanis imported Islam from the north africans who imported it from the Arabs. All large religions have been exported/imported several times over the course of centuries.

My problem is not with whether the religion is imported or not. My problem is religion itself. The way people are prevented from thinking on their own. The way religious people try to impose their views on everyone else. The way people waste and throw away their lives and the lives of others because they think there's life after death.

TV/MoviesRe: The 'Passion Of Christ' Movie by Seun(mod): 7:33pm On May 09, 2006
Bah. It's just a horror flick using religion as an excuse for it's miserable existence. Pastors were sponsoring their friends, neighbours and disciples to go and watch the film to scare them into religious piety. Bah!

syrup: Of course the Greek gods are the real gods. How could you even suggest otherwise? Read "works and days" with an open heart and you'll realise the truth. Open your heart and let the gods speak to you. cheesy

TV/Movies'V For Vendetta' Movie: With Natalie Portman by Seun(mod): 4:42pm On May 09, 2006
This movie is like, wow! What a story! wow!

Natalie Portman. The girl from Star Wars. Yes, that's why I bought the movie. And I was not dissapointed. but, my God, she's so skinny. Someone should seriously go and feed her. But the apparent frailty makes her predicaments in the movie more engaging. one is like, "don't step on that tiny girl, you might squash her!"

What do I think of V? I think he's the inevitable product of a totalitarian regime. I'm all for peace, but I don't yet see how it's possible for such a regime to collapse without bloodshed. Wait a minute, the Soviet Union collapsed on its own, didn't it? So people like V are not necessary in real life.

I recommend it. And i'm going to try to watch Closer soon. Why? natalie Portman, of course!

V For Vendetta (just watched it today)

Evey: You did this to me? You cut my hair? You tortured me? You tortured me! Why?

That's where I really got into the story. Who dares torture Natalie Portman? angry angry

IslamRe: Islam Forbids Aggression Against Innocent People by Seun(mod): 4:04pm On May 09, 2006
Judaism - the forerunner of Christianity - and Islam are very similar in all respects. In fact, the Israelites were ordered to commit genocide in the name of their God. Jesus came along to modernize Judaism - this is what Christianity is all about. But isn't it the same God that ordered entire cities of men, women children to be murdered?

I think the problem with Islam is that it is difficult to water it down. There is no "new Koran" yet. The religion is at risk of extinction because our modern standards of morality have far surpassed those in the Koran. Even Christianity is at risk, but because it's so confusing it can always be redefined to suit each generation.

All religions are religions of peace because they pay lip service to peace and justice. All religions are religions against peace because they separate people and that's the first step towards every form of violence and unrest. Christianity is not more peaceloving than islam, it's just more ambigous. islam is ok if properly secularized.

BusinessRe: Problem of PHCN/NEPA: Price Of Electricity Is Too Low by Seun(mod): 3:46pm On May 09, 2006
Thank you my brother. i thought no one would understand. Although there's the problem of corruption too.

Any attempt to keep prices below what customers are willing to pay to clear your inventory is equivalent to rationing, which is what makes NEPA so frustrating. People trying to do business are willing to pay more to have constant and predictable power so they can make plans and follow them.

Businesses are more important than 'poor people' because when they are able to operate they can employ those 'poor people' and make then rich. If businesses are failing, everybody will be poor. Why not develop the country to the level where even the poorest person will be able to afford more realistic prices?

My prediction is that electricity shortages will continue no matter how many new power plants are built until the prices are jacked up to a more realistic level. Demand will continue to outstrip supply no matter what.

Ever since the fuel price increase, have we experienced any fuel shortage? No! Can't you understand why?
