Everything is not wrong. Many things are ok and improving. Somethieves are being caught, industries are opening up. Many young people are creating jobs for themselves. Entrepreneurs are creating value. Progress is being made here and there.

Nigeria is cool, but we have too many common criminals (thieves and murderers) in positions of power. That's the only problem. VIolence is not the answer. Ask the Liberians and the Somalians how the wars have improved their lives.

Christianity does not support murder. Islam does not support murder. This is a North vs South issue and the Danish cartoons are only being used as an excuse for violence. My obvious point is that this is not about religion. It is a north vs. south issue using religion as an excuse. I mean, they are burning churches but nobody has asked whether the people who drew those cartoons attend churches themselves. What if they are atheists? Why burn churches over the actions of an atheist or agnostic?

How do they even know that those they killed were Christians? And who says those who published the Danish cartoons are Christians?

That is why markets need to be deregulated so that other companies apart from MTN can come into the market and give better prices. In addition, power supply needs to be deregulated so prices can come down so MTN won't be spending as much as they do now just burning diesel in generators to keep the base-stations up. Nothing goes for nothing.

You can't force MTN to reduce their prices but you can introduce competition (like Globacom) so they will have no choice but to improve. Competition is the bedrock of capitalism and I hope everyone understands this.

Nigeria is not a ticking time bomb. The problem is that we have common criminals roaming freely amongst us while our respectable politicians are busy dealing with "serious threats" like homosexuals. As far as I am concerned, the average Nigerian is a lover of peace. We just need to get those murderous war-mongerers off the streets and into suitable correctional facilities.

I am fully convinced that the trouble in the Niger Delta has nothing to do with the poor people. Poor people do not have money to buy sophisticated weapons to kill policemen. Poor people are all over Nigeria - like pensioners who are dying because they aren't getting their expected pay - but they do not retaliate by kidnapping and gunning down expatriates and armed forces personnel.

The people causing trouble in the Niger Delta are rich people who have made themselves wealthy by oil bunkering. That is how I see it. This is merely a security issue. The people who are causing trouble in this country can all fit in a medium-sized prison campus. And that is where all of them would be if the Nigerian police force was up to the required standard. These kidnappers and armed Niger Delta boys are criminals, and I can assure you that they don't give a damn about the poor people of Niger Delta.

And who created this God? Are you saying that such a God just sprung into existence? If God can just spring into existence why can't the universe do so too?

Maybe the Niger Delta is a Quagmire but there are parts of Nigeria that are ok. Please .

The police has arrested many of the demonstrators who participated in this barbaric act. This unfortunate casualties are partly as a result of these radical muslims' apparent inability to differentiate between Danish cartoons and Nigerian southerners who live in the north. We must not fall into the same trap by putting all Northerners and muslims in the same category as these brutes.

The brutes who killed 16 southerners in the name of religion are criminals and nothing more. That they are muslims or northerners is just an accident of history. Murderers will always look for reasons to kill. Let us try to acknowledge the difference between mainstream Islam and cold-blooded murder.
