Why should I want to visit people who don't value human life? |
What are you talking about? Is it their sweat and blood that created the oil in the ground? is it their sweat and blood that is extracting it from the ground? Did their forefathers plant seeds inside the ground to make the oil appear? Come on! It's just a maatter of chance that they live in an area with oil. Just pure chance, and nothing more. it is the expatriates and the Nigerians working with them that have done the hard work of discovering the oil and exploiting it for the benefit of many instead of just a few. |
Yeye person. If Nigeria should disintegrate all the countries around Nigeria including yours will fall like a pack of cards, because of (1) our enormous population which they can never support and (2) their economic dependence on us. Only a foolish West African will pray for war in Nigeria to happen. |
Sorry about that, uche. A grown woman raping a boy and the boy not being able to report. So sad. |
A girl that asks me out should be the kind that is not easily crushed by the initial surprise that will catch me and make me want to run away. She shouldn't now be playing hard to get when i finally warm up to her. It's a waste of time. |
You've already posted a topic right here! |
I'm still looking for these lonely and lovely Ijebu women. If you find some let me know! ![]() |
i always look at and he doesn't seem to say anything oh you look beautiful or anything,He doesn't know he's supposed to say those things. He's probably new to much of this: if only there was a way you could make him understand. |
The stranglehold of religion. You are not allowed to contradict the bible. ![]() |
charlisco: I'm sorry about your loss, but two wrongs do not make a right. Instead, using crime to fight crime leads to escalation of conflict and eventually a war. now you are saying you lost somebody but if the conflict escalates you will lose more people including even yourself. The Igbos that love Hausas the most are the ones living in Hausaland, and the hausas that love Igbos are the ones living in Igboland. Why should these bridge-builders be the ones to suffer most? |
THere is nobody she doesn't know. Even George Clinton! |
to charlisco: <<snip>> This is what will cause the conflict to escalate if you don't know. Soon they will be killing Igbos in the north in their thousands using the killings of hausas in the South as justification. |
"what then do you believe in if religion doesn't work for you?" hard work and luck. "Have you ever thought of your existence?" Yeah. Life is an experience worth savoring while it lasts. "What happens to you when you die and all that?" When I die, I return to where I was before I was born - that is, nowhere. |
Thanks everybody for your lovely suggestions. |
My solution is simple: arrest the perpetrators in the north and in the south. Treat it as an issue of criminals vs civilians and leave the issue of ethnic or religious rethoric out of it. If a man kills a child, the issue of whether the child was "rude" to him previously is not what we should be talking about! Treat it like a crime, pure and simple. Get rid of the immunity that these "muslim" and "christian" criminals think they have. |
During Alan Greenspan 19 year role as the head of the United States "Central bank", he was perhaps the most powerful non-military figure in the world. His policies and pronouncements were critically important to businessmen, bankers and politicians all over the world. But he's also known for "his gift for saying absolutely nothing at great length and in rococo syntax with no clearcut position of any kind." Ponder that for a moment. This is a man that, if called to weigh in on a dispute between A and B, would sit down and explain the merits and demerits of side A and side B, then present a complicated analysis of what might happen if A is chosen or vice versa. In summary, he would share his opinion of how a choice might be made between A and B. By the end of his presentation, each party (if they haven't fallen asleep) will believe that he's on their side and therefore should be allowed to run the show. Is is obvious that someone who goes out of his way to present analysis instead of taking sides on issues will do well in politics (or corporate governance) because nobody will see him as an enemy! Indeed, this explains how Alan Greenspan is able to recieve almost unanimous acclaim in the banking industry. But can someone who is that slippery be an effective leader in the executive arm of government or in a corporation? If so, then maybe those in leadership or with leadership aspirations need to start emulating Alan Greenspan! Maybe we will finally have rest from all the ethnic and religious crises! |
Vanilla Ice Cream! |
And how the hell will I even get a Visa? Money to travel? Argh, this is so inconvenient. I hope the president can handle this; afterall he's a former general. Security should be the focus and not third term or homos. |
I'll ask him which religion is the one true way if any. |

I have no problem with the way we depend on technological gadgets to make our lives more efficient. What we need is a way to make the gadgets more reliable so they won't fail us when we ned them most. By chosing gadgets boring or time-consuming alternatives, we can find new things to do with our minds and time. |
Dora Akinyuli is fighting a strong fight, but I need what we need is to have drug testing centers al over the country so if your drug isn't working as expected you can get it tested. There's room for a pharmacuetical store chain that guarantees that all drugs sold will be authentic (by buying from manufacturers). |
I hereby give africanboy the permission to go ahead to design and sell Nairaland T-shirts as long as I get to approve each design (just to make sure some important things are on each one) |
I confess that the spirit of speaking in tongues can land one in an assylum if one is not careful! |
Argh. |
That happens to me a lot. When it does, I usually have to call the phone but at times the battery will be dead and for days I may not know where my phone is! |
According to B-eazy, they have a new song that is hot! |
Even if they could extract the crude oil themselves, is it something they can drink? Isn't it the same Europeans and Americans that would still have to buy the crude oil from them for them to generate revenue? Reminds me of Ojukwu who forcefully created a Biafra nation without thinking of how he's gonna feed his "citizens". |
