donhils: For the past 3 or 4 months, the internet was agog with the legendary performance of the battery packed in the Infinix Hot Note/Pro. Atimes I hear things that are almost unbelievable like some said sometime ago that he played Fifa 15 game with internet on for complete 7hrs non stop and the battery remained 64%, another claimed on the presidential election day that he was going to Watch films and play games ALL DAY. Some other peeps claim to use theirs heavily and could grind up to 18hrs out of the phone before dropping to about 30%. Are you using any or both of these devices, how good (truly) is your battery, how long can you use it with Internet on and all other heavy usages from a single full charge?
I use the phone too, the battery lasts for a very long time, sometimes I can be on 3g for a whole day (without browsing) but maybe 12 or so hours when browsing. And the charger can charge the phone to full bars in just less than 2 hours. The only set back is no other charger/Power bank can charge the phone battery to its full capacity for that short period except it's own charger (as a result of its high battery capacity 4000mah). Why do you need a power bank anyway? Once you charge the phone battery to its full capacity it's guaranteed to last for the whole day no matter how heavy the usage is. It's a very nice phone, for heavy Internet users.

How can a developer be writing back-end codes only ? No matter how good he is he still have to master html to layout data loaded from server side because your output must be in html format for normal end users to see.
What I'm trying to point out is , A web designer concentrates majorly on designing interfaces , examples in this category designs templates, and UI frameworks. THEY ARE NOT INTO CODING ! in fact they have little or zero knowledge of programming.
A developer on the other hand is a designer and a programmer combined. You cant learn web programming only cos its useless without knowing HTML! But you can learn html alone and still make something out of it. Most web designers are not web programmers , but all web programmers are web designers too.
Simple, a Designer works with the front-end (html,css and a lil bit of javascript) only, while a developer works with both the front-end and back-end (php ,database etc) most times this guy is often referred to as a "programmer.
If you read the story very well she actually had the intention of paying but the guy's behavior irritated her I.e he ordered an expensive meal. And as a guy that's not a proper gentlemanly behavior. And probably during their conversation she must have read the guys intention by perception which led her to insist he pays for the meal. If someone offers to take you out, you're not expected to exploit the privilege. What I will challenge every web developer in Nigeria is to learn the in and out, hooks and functions of some of these CMSes and start developing themes, templates and plugins for them.
As technology evolves, web development will continue to be easier. It will amount to taking people back to the stone age to insist on coding from scratch for every project.

Please explain better to me how the decision of these companies to use cms justifies your opinion? Does the fact that Obama uses a blackberry phone make blackberry the best of all choices? Who says these companies/organizations can't make bad decisions too? Do most of them even know anything about what's going on in their website backends ? Who knows if some just contact the most readily available techies around to design those stuffs for them. They just want to see a website up and running quick, who says they care much about how it's built?
What objectionists are saying in brief context is that, Nigerians have not gotten to that point where we should be using cms's . Before these white guys started using cms softwares they've been coding from scratch so why can't Nigerians learn the rudiments from scratch before venturing into cms packages even if they are going to eventually use cms? Most of the cms programmers in Nigeria know no jack about programming and they go about parading themselves as programmers. Some can't even write common html.
This is why it takes them months or even years for them to fix when stuffs goes wrong. Do you know why most of these websites fall easy victim to hackers? The reason isn't far fetched from the fact that their codes are familiar (which makes it easier to find loopholes).
For so long now only a few nigerians have ever done something creative on the Web even when most of them have brilliant idea, and you know why? because of their inability to convert their ideas to reality through codes. If your idea is unique, you definitely won't find its cms code anywhere.
There's nothing bad in cms packages though if you're building a general stuff like blogs, news site,forums but nothing beats a website created to your own taste. It's easier to fix when things go wrong and usually load time is 5x faster. .
One more reason why I hate cms is it's bloated code structure. Too many unnecessary stuffs

The only people that call me are fellow web-designers, who just want to fool me and find the cms am using, children that just want to call to say hi, people that promise and promise and never get back to you.

You cant find good jobs on the internet, you have to use the old school method. That one helps me better.
It starts with writing a web-proposal of not more than 6 pages. It should contain What website is Importance and why a client should have it About your company Works you have done or demos if you are new. Bill And contact
If you cant write your proposal, then you not ready. Make the cover as attractive as possible and make several prints of it.
On the deal day, look good and confident, smell nices, etc.
Places to go to Schools, churches, companies, hotels, etc.
Walk in and ask for their manager and drop your proposal with him. Your bravery will pay.

You're on point bro, but for the proposal aspect I think 2 pages is enough. Most companies will rather have you to brief about your proposal when it comes to web/software development.
my dad is from okeagbe around ikare area(Ondo state) . There's this dialect they speak that is completely different from yoruba. It's another language on its own, I don't know the name.
