European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Mourinho: Genius Or Fluke by seunspice(m): 8:33pm On Dec 01, 2009
I am kinda surprised, people come in here talking about the Champions league as the ultimate yard stick to judge club coaches etc. I am not arguing against that, but we should all realize that a doze of luck is also needed to win trophies. A good team can get to the champions league final and lose by penalties or the odd goal and thats it. Considering the quality of teams developing from leagues in Germany, Holland and RUssia, you would see that yearly the champions league becomes increasingly difficult to win.
Even as a united fan, i would readily agree that Chelsea deserved to win the Champions league final against United in regulation time, if not for luck which was on United's side and not even the galaxy of stars could have stopped them if they had not been unfortunate with referee decisions last time around. Does that now mean that Guus Hiddink was not a good coach? Barca might be the best team in the world now but we need to realize that luck plays an important role in games. Real Madrid could have easily won the game at the Nou Camp on sunday if puyol had been injured in the pre game warm up.
Jose is a good coach, he is not the best by all standards but it does not mean that he is a bad coach. Just a coach who has been unlucky not to win it more than once.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Mourinho: Genius Or Fluke by seunspice(m): 12:54pm On Nov 26, 2009
Let Jose be. Of the new genration of coaches he is undoubtedly the best. He even fares better than some Old generation coaches. As a united fan, i couldn't but respect and fear Mourinho. He turned CHelsea to a dreaded force in just a couple of seasons trashing my darling united severally along the way. He lost just once to United. Has anyone here noticed how United quickly recovered and won the title in the last 3 seasons since he left. I doubt if i would be celebrating a hattrick of titles if Jose was still in England. I hate Jose as an opposition coach, but you can't but just love his poise, comments, tactics and gesture.
Inter Milan is in a phase, they wont do well in Europe in the next few seasons. But they would reign supreme in Italy. Italian football is total rubbish for now.

If those eaglet boys are under 17, then i am Barack Obama, i sure remember how i looked at 17, The last kid in my family now is 20 and he sure looks like a baby compared to those grand pa eaglets. Lets face reality, at 17 max you should just be out of secondary school (at about 16) and you should not have the muscles and bones of a 30 year old.
That is why our oldest player to the Korea Japan 2002 world cup was Efe Sodje (cause he was born in England) at 29, when we had Mutiu Adepoju, Kanu Nwankwo, Taribo West, Austin Okocha et al in that team. It is a shame, there was a boy in that Korean team that could not be more than 15. The future is theirs the present is ours. I would not be blinded by a criminalistic patriotism.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Tottenham Hotspur(2) Vs Liverpool(1) On Sunday 16th August by seunspice(m): 11:01am On Aug 17, 2009
I think Robbie Keane thinks he can be resigned by Rafa, those misses should be probed by the FA. How can you lose such chances? My dog would have buried half of those chances. However, right off liverpool at your peril. I wont say anything about a team that handed my darling United the worst home defeat in several seasons. I only pray that as usual Liverpool finishes below United on the log in May.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Everton (1) Vs Arsenal (6) On Saturday 15th August by seunspice(m): 10:39am On Aug 17, 2009
As a Manchester united fan, i saw Arsenal breeze past Sorry Everton, and my heart skipped several beats. There is a different spirit about this gunners team now and i will not wave them away. every team is supposed to be treated with some level of respect. If this Arsenal team continues this way beyond December the sky is the starting point, and dont forget that unlike Chelsea, Liverpool, Mancity and co this team has a different set of players for the carling cup et al. So there is very little fear of a burnout for key players. I wish all the teams well.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Fa Community Shield : Chelsea (2)4 Vs Man Utd (2) 1 on Pens by seunspice(m): 10:22am On Aug 09, 2009
@Edoyad,
Did you say Liverpool is ripe for it? Man! they are over ripe for it. In my candid opinion, i would like to see Chelsea win the League if Man U does not, I would have loved to say Arsenal , but i believe that inexperience in the squad would tell before the January transfer window.

However, any team but Liverpool. It took 19 years for United to catch up with their haul of league trophies, wont be funny seeing them breeze past again. But honestly for today's match let the best team win and the league also. It is always great to see the best team win, Not like Arsenal winning the FA cup in 2005 with just one short on target in 120 mins of football on penalties. It was the poorest Arsenal display i have ever seen yet they lifted the FA cup beating sorry (unlucky) United on penalties. Liverpool should have won last season, inconsistency was the bane. Hope the season goes well for my darling united. If we go true to form though, i know winning the league shield is like a camel going through the needle's eye, considering that over the last few years, anytime a major player leaves us, we struggle to hit form in all competitions. a la Becks, Van Nilsteroy, Cantona, Dwight and Andy et al. Hope this season changes the tide.
Wish you all an eventful season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Fa Community Shield : Chelsea (2)4 Vs Man Utd (2) 1 on Pens by seunspice(m): 2:40pm On Aug 08, 2009
@Andrew Uweh,
Can you serenade us with evidence that SAF said that? until then, you are a lousy loser to me. These African players mostly would have cut off 5 - 8 years from their ages before embarking on their journeys to Europe. they are signed at their peaks and then go on a decline from there. Man u tried with Quinton Fortune, then Eric Djemba Djemba. Manucho never looked like fitting the bill. Sir Alex might be racist, but i have never heard him make statement that you have categorically made here matter of factly. And whatever he might be has made him the most successful Coach in the brutish world. A no mean feat.
I don't support teams based on Nationality or childish sentiments like yours,You even mentioned players that have no affiliations with their countries of African descent (bosingwa et al). Quick questions for you, which Nigerian player is worth signing right now by these teams? Maybe only Kalu Uche. which African player is worth signing right now? Maybe Samuel Eto. Can they fit into the Man U scheme of things? Maybe Yes or no. One thing i know for sure is Sir Alex knows best. Because if not, Man U would not have been the only club to win the league back to back 3 times 2 times in the Premiership. In the next 23 years when Carlo Ancelotti may have surpassed Sir Alex's record of today(if he does not get sacked in the next 3 months as is always traditional with chelsea), come back to this post and criticize sir Alex, otherwise , shut your blue trap.

This news would be a relief to several Nigerians, myself inclusive. Last year when the Power probe started i was an employee of one of the firms involved, several facts were distorted by the novice called Elumelu and the basic truth was hidden, My MD was rubbished when it was time for him to make his presentation. Elumelu and his panel alleged that a 29 Million Dollars contract was awarded to my Office and 86% of contract sum paid, whereas there was basically just an LC of 3 million dollars signed which was to be used to obtain a loan to fund the project. At the end, the company had gone ahead to secure a loan from a consortium of banks to execute the project.
The community that was to host the project refused the site and the project site was moved severally, all these were brought to Elumelu's attention, instead of facilitating a quick resolution of the issue, he went ahead to ask all the companies involved to proceed to bribe the committee, levying each company 50 million Naira each, those who paid were not ridiculed at the charade called the power probe presided over by the corrupt Elumelu. The aftermath of the power probe was cost reduction and cut by my former employers which led to a loss of job for about 157 members of staff, the company is still trying to find its feet as we speak, over three thousand electricity transformers, Several hundreds of thousands lenght of cables, Conductors, Poles et al lie desolate at the site of the last project off oghara in delta state, which the personal assistant to Mr Elumelu claimed does not exist.
I seriously hope that this new development unveils the beast that Elumelu and his cohorts are and opens the can of worms that the probe panels sat on.

I was surprised when i read on this thread that she died on the camp ground. She passed on at IBTC Ayobo while the camp was on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway DLCC, I did not want to counter that because of the sketchy nature of the releases so far, i was not at the Bible study yesterday so i don't know about the ministration.

If 8oracle's thinkings are to go by, the 12 apostles of Jesus would be alive today with Paul junketting the continents on mission outreaches, Peter strengthening and overseeing the church from rome and the other apostles/disciples preaching. Death must come to us all at the appointed time no matter who we are and what spiritual height we might have attained. Please take note of that and do not speak evil of the men of God.

It is somehow painful that her departure happened at this time, but God knows why he called her home now, we are just to take to heart the fact that death is a surety for all and sundry and be prepared for it at all times. Adieu Maam.
