European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Inter Milan Vs Chelsea [2 - 1] On Wed, 24 Feb by seunspice(m): 11:27am On Feb 25, 2010
I've got to keep my fingers crossed on this one, pity UEFA has ensure the fingers would be crossed for another 3 weeks. I however do believe that all Inter has to do is get a goal at the bridge, but Chelsea as always has a very good chance of going through.
Is it just me or does anyone agree with me that Lampard was not worth his salt last nite?
Romance / Re: I'm So Paranoid About Marriage by seunspice(m): 10:40am On Feb 24, 2010
@Poster, Ever heard of Tiger Woods? What do you expect women to feel if faced with the prospect of having a man who would have 17 (and counting) extra marital affairs. I have been to school, worked, dated and made friends with several girls/ladies/women, and based on my experience, there are more men guilty of these than the women. Your perception and generalization while not wrong is way off the mark.
My advice , remain paranoid. Some ladies out there are paranoid about you too.

@*dhtml, pirated Seun indeed. lol. i wish the 'original' Seun could say that himself.
Education / Re: Unilorin Leads Nigerian Varsities In World Ranking by seunspice(m): 4:10pm On Feb 22, 2010
I think we need to look deeper at what these ratings and ranking are all about. Webometrics rate these schools based on the volume of their web traffic, i believe there should be other rating systems out there where virtually all Nija unis would be basically found wanting. I however believe that in this country of ours, it is not what the school makes you, it is what you make out of the school that matters.
I graduated from OAU a little under a decade ago and everywhere i have been to since then i get the respect i feel was imbibed into me by the training i got from the stale curriculum of the school.
Right from my NYSC days in Cross River where i saw graduates who could not speak a correct line of English and who had not even seen a PC before to Graduates from Schools i used to look down on who were running things everywhere. We should overlook all these school issues, go to the school come out with at least a 2:1 and face the labour market music.
Everywhere i go today, i thank God for OAU and what i have become today, and when i see my ex colleagues in key positions in Banks, Telcos, Blue chip companies etc running things i just thank God for Oba Awon University (OAU).
No disrespect meant to anyone, but there is no University in Nigeria that cannot produce world class Graduates, it is the graduates who are not reinventing themselves enough.
Politics / Re: Soyinka Blasts Aondokaa On CNN by seunspice(m): 10:52am On Feb 21, 2010
@Lawale61, Soyinka has been more here in Nija than anywhere else in the past few years. he led a demonstration to the National assembly a while ago and is always active on Nigerian issues home and abroad. you can't fight a multifaceted battle from one point, then don't forget he is a visiting lecturer in several universities just as he is in my alma mata OAU,ife.
Autos / Re: Beware Of This Fuel Sales Attendants Tricks by seunspice(m): 8:28am On Feb 21, 2010
My 2 cents. Anytime you want to buy fuel at the station. Dont open your fuel tank until you have placed your order. The attendants are just like your average policeman. they are after what they can get off you.
Music/Radio / Re: Lady Gaga by seunspice(m): 8:23am On Feb 21, 2010
To me, Lady Gaga is the Native resident American version of our Banky W. she studied the industry, knew she had the talent and derived her formula for entry and delivery. She is a heck of a talent like Banky W, but chose being weird as a means of achieving her fame. and believe me its working for her. She tries too hard some folks say but as long as it does not affect her sales or ticket sales it all fine.
She is unlike my idol (Michael Jackson) who tried too hard and saw it all crashing down on him (may his soul rest in peace). me thinks Lady Gaga would still be around to gagarize her fans for a while. The song Paparazzi is definitely one i would love to wake up to nothing more.
And please don't compare her to Beyonce. Even though i feel Beyonce is outright over rated, she is worth more than her onions right now. But she would go the way of R Kelly soon, when people start getting tired of her never changing delivery style. I could give you eamples of folks like that Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Dolly Parton, R Kelly, Toni Braxton, Shania Twain, Sisquo, Craig David. She has more star power than most of these lot. but ,
Events / Re: Is It Good To Borrow Money For Your Wedding? by seunspice(m): 8:13am On Feb 21, 2010
Why would you wanna do that? why not take a mortgage for your marriage ceremony? Cut your coat according to your cloth jare. Then you'll get married and start paying some crazy loans. There are several financial contributors to a maariage ceremony.
1. The groom to be
2. The bride to be
3. Parents on 1 above
4. Parents of 2 above.

The financial obligations might be more demanding on one side more than the other, i.e. in our Nija settings here the bulk comes from 1 and 4 ( i stand to be corrected). So i dont see why you should borrow money to get married. Na only you wan do everything?

Sports / Re: Nigeria Drop Kanu And Yobo For Paraguay Friendly by seunspice(m): 7:52am On Feb 21, 2010
Why can't we be real and original. Because the Ghanian experiment has worked now means moving all those lads up. while this is a step in the right direction, i hope it is done right. i advise every Nigerian to look past the world cup. Miracles don't happen in football anymore, as you lay your bed so you lie on it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Ac Milan vs Manchester United [2 - 3] on Feb. 16, Tue by seunspice(m): 12:58pm On Feb 16, 2010
Everytime United visit the sansiro for a Milan clash, there is always something wrong with the defense. However, based on current form in the EPL (which can be rubbished against decent teams from Italy or Spain in clashes like this) United stand a near decent chance to go through today's matc unhumiliated. I don't see them losing 3 nil like they did some seasons ago against Milan, but as a united fan, i know winning in the san siro against milan (despite whoever makes that milan 11 tonight) would not be as easy as Everton beating Chelsea in the EPL. I hope for a score draw of some magnitude incase the away goals come to play.
You dont want to be playing Milan now, i bet you.

Family / Re: What Would U Do If Ur Brother-inlaw Slapped U by seunspice(m): 7:54am On Feb 16, 2010
I am no woman, so i would approach this from the male view first.
My bro slaps my wife: He has disrespected me, because i am my wife and she is me. So what i would do is call him and my wife and ask her to slap him till she is satisfied before i now resume the slapping session personally. He should be sensible to report her to me in the first place and not go about slapping her. He would then take a final exit from my home never to return. Na wife we call am o. (what God has joined together, let no slapping asshole put asunder).

Assuming i am a woman and my brother inlaw slaps me, i wouldn't do anything to him, my hubby must have sold me cheaply to him, If my hubby treated me right in the first place no bro-inlaw would have the guts to do that to me. What i would basically do is make the house unlivable for my hubby till he makes the necessary reparation. There is no point in making a fuss with an unreasonable bro-inlaw.
But honestly, do such things still happen?

Who is deceiving who? The Italian just ruled himself out of the job. Look for your coach elsewhere. The coach of the Afghan National team for instance?
Politics / Re: Aondoakka Fired? by seunspice(m): 8:11am On Feb 11, 2010
Now i can confirm, but @Mogentle, the same sahara reporters had a story in November last year saying Maryam Babangida had died while she was in coma. You get what i mean?
Politics / Re: Aondoakka Fired? by seunspice(m): 5:00pm On Feb 10, 2010
@Mogentle, i don't believe in speculative reportage. Thats why i wait till it is well confirmed before i blare my horn. I don't believe anything i read on the pages of newspapers, be they online or hardcopies. You know why? The Nigerian media has been more than compromised, much so that even when the whole truth is being reported, it is from a propaganda point of view.
Politics / Re: Aondoakka Fired? by seunspice(m): 3:53pm On Feb 10, 2010
I dont believe anything i read on sahara reporters. but i would wait until someone has confirmed it.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Chelsea Vs Arsenal [2 - 0] On Sunday, 7th Feb by seunspice(m): 8:49am On Feb 08, 2010
Jose Mourinho on Arsenal and Wenger:
At the beginning of the season i hated Arsenal because they were beating everybody in the league, but when in November they started droping points everywhere i loved them, i loved them till the end of the season. I hope i love them and United next season too. You can't but love them.
“I think he is one of these people who is a Viewer. He likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea.” – on Arsène Wenger

“Look at the way teams play against Arsenal. They don’t believe they can win. They don’t believe.”
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Chelsea Vs Arsenal [2 - 0] On Sunday, 7th Feb by seunspice(m): 8:39am On Feb 08, 2010
My favourite quotes from Arsenal vs Chelsea situations.
1. Didn't we watch this game last week?
2. Arsene Wenger stated after Chelsea won 3-0 at the Emirates that Drogba "doesn't do a lot." Imagine if he actually did something Arsene.
3. So the picture finally came through. Drogba weeping profusely for the gunners. (by scoring against them every game 12 out of 10 now).

Other quotes to come as soon as i get them.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United [1 - 3] On Sunday 31st January by seunspice(m): 3:18pm On Feb 03, 2010
lets hope both teams keep up the forms they showed at the weekend, then Arsenal board would have to give Wenger an ultimatum and Fergusson can go ahead and make some sense from this season. It has been full of intrigues, but from which ever side of the divide you are on, you would agree with me that it has been a mediocre season for the so-called 'big clubs'.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United [1 - 3] On Sunday 31st January by seunspice(m): 2:20pm On Feb 02, 2010
I wont say we are on the best form right now, but i hope we have hit top gear and would continue to play well till the end of the season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United [1 - 3] On Sunday 31st January by seunspice(m): 1:41pm On Feb 02, 2010
United is one point behind Chelsea who have a game on hand. It is still not sure United would beat Chelsea or Liverpool, neither can you be assured of the fact that United would still not lose some matches unexpectedly (e.g. Fulham and Burnley), What is sure though is that i would revel in the fact that United has taken 6 valuable points off the gayners this season.
