True Eke.....Veeeeery true.
Eke40seven:

My friend Seunstein, was at the embassy recently and he saw someone who specifically went to make enquiries about the same issue and he was told categorically that its not allowed or won't be accepted.
Anyone with contrary experience can narrate his/her own experience

Well, my advise is that if you take the decision at the end of the day make sure you apply for STUDENT visa instead of language visa and in addition to that in my OWN OPINION, try to apply for schools and take the evidence of your applications and acceptance when going for your interview as further proof of your genuine intents and evidence that you are actually going to school after your language studies.

Tell him to go to the alien/foreigners office in his administrative unit or local government and book appointment (I think booking appointment in Berlin is done online, he can clarify that), scan the data page of your passport and some may ask for a scan copy of your admission letter and some may not ask.

My 2 cowries!

God bless you all!

Let me help you with the formular....so u can help those coming behind you.It is Your highest possible grade(5) minus grade earned (4.12) all divided by the highest possible grade(5) minus lowest possible grade(1).whatever you get, multiply it by 3 and then add 1.In your case,it is 5-4.12/5-1=0.22*3=0.66+1=1.66.......On the scale....You are on 'GOOD'
hollaytan:
pls what is the cgpa of 4.12 on German scale

Hi.I inquired likewise some weeks back from the embassy.I was expressly told that only an admission letter would suffice. My advice is that u keep tabs on your application in the school and put pressure on them so as to get your admission letter out in time. Some of us are having horrific visa delay issues now because of late arrival of admission letter........My 2 kobo.Best wishes!
Debbie06:
[Hello house I am new here. Nice work. Got some really helpful information here. Pls I av a question. Has anyone ever applied for visa with a confirmation of application from the school? I applied to the university in dortmund for a course for summer taught in german language. I also already paid for a language school which would commence in feb. I can't wait til the university in dortmund sends me admission letter cos dat would take a while. So I requested for a confirmation of applicationfrom the university so that I can commence visa application immediately. Wat do u guys think? Btw, I have a b1 goethe certificate in german ]. quote author=Eke40seven post=27826004]

Except in situations where the admission is so restricted and competition is very fierce, your result should be good enough.
On German scale, it is 2.2 and most schools will require 2.5 or better (which means numerically less)
Note: in Germany the lower the better e.g highest score in Germany is 1.0 while its 5.0 in Nigeria.
Good luck

They do but before you ask any further questions, read at least the last 100 pages to get you started.

Read!! read!! read!! it was the topic of discussion from page 447 and you don't need to translate in German as long as you are submitting to Uni-assist
Travel / Re: German Embassy And Visa by seunstein(m): 12:45pm On Oct 27, 2014
Your answer is almost in the question sir.Go to the embassy in Lagos on between Monday and Wednesday by 7-11 am.Tell them at the gate you want to certify your documents. Please,it is very important that the sequence of your original documents is in sync with the sequence of arrangement of the copies you want to certify.....I am assuming it won't be just WAEC you want to certify and it's the German embassy you meant.Finally....I got wind that they now charge about 1200 naira for certifications. You could take along far more to be on the safe side. You r welcome sir/madam.
atrapon:
Pls how do they certifiy waec @ embassy ...tank u

Congratulations.....If I recollect correctly....It's been since August 28 you had your visa interview. Its a long time.I hope you had no issues along the way for it to take this long.If you did, please share and how u stayed afloat. All that wouldn't matter now though to you.....Someone could learn from it.Thanks!

Thanks bro.I just got my appointment this afternoon.16th of October 2014. I just hope my account number reaches after 2 weeks of submission at the embassy cuz the 1.850 million is ready self.Hopefully, this should induce some consideration as regards my appointment date. Thanks again for your contribution sir.God bless u.
Eke40seven: @seunstein and others waiting for an appointment. Make una no worry. Just make sure you sent the mail to rk-visa201@lago.diplo.de
I think the delay may be due to the fact that the number of applicants during this September and late August period are much and the frequency is not far apart. I waited 3 working days to get a response from the embassy while those that applied 2 weeks before me got theirs in less than 30 minutes!
The Lord shall strengthen thee.
Good luck!

dolpaz:

Guy, its unfair and your comment is not encouraging...I have "Never" and will "Never" discourage anybody. even if you aim for Something bigger than you, i will always cheer you up. Nigeria is a country full of shambles and funny stuffs. Emeka and Beebee knows me better. Imagine, I have been trying to obtain My transcript since Last year.. ASUU went on 7months strike for the better part of last year. January 10th, I resigned from my previous job to allow me with full processing and concentration. I missed two admission in Austria, only to be called upon some weeks back about the readiness of my educational transcript... Are these stories encouraging at all? cry undecided

Please ponder into this and stop the mockery.
According to Honourable Seyi "Let he that thinketh he standeth take heed, lest he fall."

because things are going on smoothly for you doesn't mean u are perfect. Watch it, lest you fall.. Please, lets cultivate the act of encouraging each others. we all know the situation in this country...everybody want a level of advancement in his/her career..

#noOffences Bruder..

In other words, I calmly received all your assessment..Realk1, ebele, eke40seven, omamofe, honourableseyi, seun and other peeps who i cant remember right now..God bless you real good.

May our effort never go in vain, and this week/month shall be our week/month of testimonies..
I will always try my best in encouraging my fellow Nigerians whether here or in diaspora..

With much Love smiley smiley wink wink

Lol...@ebele17....for my course,we have a group on Facebook where our alumni folks have been very resourceful...However,a handful of us are still without accommodation.we all plan to live with each other. So,it's like if a few of us find a place before others arrive,we'l just share. The only ones in my class fully settled are the Germans.close to 80% of my course mates are from abroad.Highly multi-cultural.So,we all seem to be having the same wahala. Our alumni, like I said before, are working hard still.
ebele17: @eke47 abeg, that link or email for accomodation in munich or freising @ geemana too, did any of you guys see it?? I don search tire I can not remember the thread number it was posted on. I have a course mate dat is in munich and is in dire need of accomodation. The one about a hostel or hall I think bishop hall or bishop court or something. Abeg una, I need asap update on that place. @seunsetin, I think u sent a message to them that time abi? Abeg, na one fine babe oo, guys I fit hook una up ooo. Na my class mate

Dele, thanks for this info.will buzz u via my e-mail now.
jahjehova: Then for those planning to travel soonest. Mehn, Germany don dey cold o. So ensure you do these:

1) Go Katland boutique buy your ''3 for #1000" hood. The thing carry style cost for here.
2) Buy your jeans for there too.
3) Leave your lappy in your luggage. Stock Ur lappy bag with Naija foodstuff.
4) If possible, don't fly Emirates. It causes jet lag and unneccessary time wastage. If you can afford it, book well ahead. There is a secret to getting cheaper prices - Return ticket valid for a year. Try them
5) Palm oil, fluids, iru/dadawa/(smelly stuffs) wont pass through scans at the airports. But there is a way around it. Send a PM for more info.

Lemmie stop here for now.

Oh....fantastic.Great idea.I will take a cue from that.Better I clear all the mess before arriving in Munich.Accommodation wahala alone will be more than enough to rock me then. Thanks sis.
ebele17:

Yes ooo, its not insurance, its enrollment. My department wrote to me now. I was told that 5 weeks thing but its for delays that is if there are delays with visa processing, u can arrive on campus as late as first week in nov but u must enroll before then. And that includes doing ur insurance on time.
The 111€ is ur student union and ticket fee. I paid mine from nigeria using euro dom account transfer. It was instantaneous. The next day the thing reflected on my portal. I bought euro and made the transfer. U will also make allowances for bank charges too. Abt 26€. So dat one no be big case. Its the insurance that is giving me issues
Travel / Re: German Embassy And Visa by seunstein(m): 10:28am On Sep 03, 2014
@ebele17....it's on my personal page too that I need to pay the 111 euros by 15th of September ....How mine is different is that Health insurance can be done when I get to Germany ...5 weeks after lectures start.I trust u know it's TUM I have been writing about.
