Heartibaby:The most intelligent response by far! People like you give me hope that our educational system can still be salvaged. |
freecocoa:Your atheism should NOT becloud your sense of reasoning and logic. We all have brains and life is much simpler when we actually make use of our reasoning faculties. What does Chris Okotie have to do with Emeka's wife leaving him because she was tired of being battered? Instead of applauding the wife we are looking for reasons to pillory and castigate a pastor who had NOTHING to do with it. Emeka Ike obviously thinks that he is God's gift to women and the world revolves around him. Look at what he said below as proof He further alleged that Okotie and another man in the church helped his wife to secure a job without his consentReally? A woman that has instituted divorce proceedings against you needs your consent to get a job? He is obviously unhappy that she is on the path to self independence and wants her to beg him for money Is Pastor Okotie well-known and popular as I am? How can he say he will not dignify me with a response? His arrogance is truly pathetic. Is Pastor Chris in a popularity contest with him? I commend Pastor Chris response to this matter as mature and dignified. Before we join the banwagon to criticize Chris okotie we need to actually look into the facts of the matter. And the fact is that his wife got tired of being bettered plain and simple! |
I am confused. Isn't Traditional marriage a marriage? When a woman has done her traditional marriage isn't she married to the man? |
Compared to now?Had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Jonathan. Go back and read what really happened. It was discovered that some sectors were not taken into account when calculating Nigeria's economy and these sectors were added thus making Nigeria's economy larger than South Africa 2)Nigeria's economy grew at a rate of 6-7%, making it one of the fastest economies in the worldWho cares about how fast the economy is growing when it does not translate to REAL development? The American, British and South African economies did not grow as fast as the Nigerian economy but we CANNOT compare their economy to Nigeria's economy. It is just a meaningless indice. If you want to talk about RELEVANT indices talk about our GDP 3)Thanks to the agricultural REVOLUTION, Nigeria's food security was assured. it equally was able to slash its import bill from over N1 TRILLION to abit over N600 billionOur food security is NOT assured. We still import MOST of our food. But Yes Adesina did a pretty good job in reducing Nigeria's import bill. 4) Nigeria was listed as a member of MINT nationsThat is not AN achievement! MINT is simply a terminology a Goldman Sachs banker coined which became popular. 5) The nation's manufacturing sector was rescusitated. Thanks to policies like the automobile policy, Nigeria now produces high end goods like vehicles.Maybe you are too young to remember but Nigeria has been producing vehicles since the 80s. I am not sure which country you live in but our manufacturing industry has NOT been resuscitated but rather factories are still folding up. If it has been resuscitated where are the new factories?? How can you make such a statement when everyone knows that there is no power to run the factories? This is an OUTRIGHT lie 6)thanks to infusion of funds, sectors like the entertainment sector (Nollywood and co) now accounts for a percentage of the nation's earnings, a VERY FIRST in our historyPlease which funds are you referring to? Are you referring to the chicken change that Jonathan dashed actors that came out in support of his campaign? Nollywood was HUGE before Jonathan so please NEVER give Jonathan credit for Nollywood. The credit for Nollywood goes to Idumota not Jonathan! 7)Thanks to the local content policy, Nigerian Companies now participate in very large numbers in the lucrative upstream sector of the Oil and Gas Industry as these local coys are given PRIORITY over their foreign counterparts. Again a VERY FIRST in our history. The reason that more local companies are participating in the upstream sector is because the multinational companies such as Shell and Total ARE DIVESTING from that sector. This is obviously AN INDICTMENT on the Jonathan administartion because it shows that the multi nationals have no faith in Nigeria plain and simple Are you a joker? Please walk intoANY company and ask them if they have stopped using their generators. I am pretty certain that you typed this post without light in your house. Despite the BILLIONS pumped into the power sector in 6 years we have NOTHING to show for it and you call it an achievement? Did you drink? 9) thanks to programmes like YouWin and funds from organizations like BoI, additional SMEs were created asTrue 10) Thanks to SEC under the GEJ, regulation of the financial market was enforced. Also laudable was the risk assessment undertaken by the CBN, again under GEJ'S watch.Regulation of the stock market was ongoing before Jonathan. He did not do anything special in that regard This is a REALLY POOR attempt to whitewash Jonathan's administratio which we ALL know was the MOST CORRUPT government Nigeria HAS EVER SEEN! Try harder next time |
andyanders:What you have said makes ABSOLUTELY no sense!! Is Chris Okotie holding Emeka ike's wife against her will? How can Chris 'withold' Emeka Ike's wife from him? She left Emeka because he was abusing her physically and emotionally. For heavens sake what does that have to do with Pastor Chris? Instead of you to condemn Emeka for abusing his wife you are busy looking for who to blame for his failed marriage. The fault for his failed marriage lies SQUARELY with him and not with any pastor! I have sisters and I would NEVER advise any woman to stay in an abusive marriage. If your husband abuses you, LEAVE!!!! |
Gurgle:Are you still living in the stone ages?? So are you saying that a man born out of wedlock does not have a father? What do you mean that he has no lineage that makes sense? I am sorry to say this but the only thing that makes no sense is your assertion. For your information the fact that a man or woman is born out of wedlock does not mean that the individual does not have a lineage. For crying out loud the person didn't drop from the sky! |
Gurgle:This is a pretty inane and meaningless statement. What does being a female child have to do with birth out of wedlock? Are you saying that it is okay for a female to be born out of a wedlock but it is not okay for a male to be born out of wedlock? Of all the misguided posts on Nairaland this surely takes the price! |
MizMyColi:I have NO idea where you got your facts from but are you actually comparing Sanusi to Jonathan? Really? You are comparing SANUSI - a man that brought corrupt practices to the attention of the FG and JONATHAN - a man that sacked Sanusi because he tried to expose the corruption in the system. Are you for real? Did work commence on the second Niger bridge or not?Yes Did we see evidence of structures coming up or not?If you call one pillar evidence, then yes. But we are not interested in evidence, excuses and failure, we want to see a finished bridge! Or aren't you aware that there are thousands of uncompleted projects littered all over Nigeria? Could the in-completion have been as a result of unforeseen circumstances?NO!! NO!!! NO!!! Massive corruption and Jonathan's legendary incompetence are the reasons why the Niger bridge was never completed! For heavens sake when would we call a spade a spade and stop sucking up to corrupt leaders who do not mean well for us? How come a mere 'state'- Lagos was able to successfully build a bridge that is longer than the second Niger bridge at less than half the price?? And they did it in less than 2 years! That bridge is now a Mecca of sorts that attracts people from all over. The Jonathan administration had absolutely NO EXCUSE for not building the second Niger bridge plain and simple! If Lagos could build a similar bridge at less than half the cost then something is obviously WRONG somewhere! |
oyinkuro87:You are beating your chest over the glorified secondary school called Federal University Otuoke and a duplex called Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board?? Are you for real?? Did the witches in bayelsa swear for you? People like you are the reason politicians would steal the entire treasury and then give the masses one derica of rice during campaign. Jonathan was governor of Bayelsa state and president of this country and all Bayelsa state has to show for it is a glorified seconday school. A state that produces oil does not have basic infrastructure like water and roads and yet sycophants like you are rejoicing. Maybe they did swear for you from your village!! |
marcondo13:Bro you need to actually read Femi Falana's interview. Find an excerpt below Having been given the liberty to operate without executive interference, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission are dealing with petitions which were suppressed before now. In other words, the petitions currently being investigated were submitted by concerned citizens and groups under the (former President Goodluck) Jonathan’s administration. For example, the petition against the oil swap deal was written and submitted by the past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, AFTER the 2015 general elections.http://www.punchng.com/politics/crossfire/buhari-will-probe-jonathan-others-falana/ Did you take note of when she actually petitioned EFCC? She petitioned them AFTER the election was lost!! Also remember that she tried countless times to see Buhari. This is obviously eye service which should fool no one. She was the minister for at least 4 years, why didn't she petition EFCC during her tenure? You also implied that GEJ was not involved in the swap scam? REALLY?? ![]() If he wasn't involved then why DIDN'T he put an end to it during his tenure? This is something that Buhari has done in just about 4 months into his tenure!!! Nigerians cannot be deceived. It is pretty obvious that the last administration benefited IMMENSELY from the corruption within the Oil industry and they HAD NO INTEREST in stopping these unwholesome practices |
SmartMugu:Lol! Your story had me in stitches! Boys are definitely not smiling! Well I have had online dating experience both in Nigeria and America. In America nobody ever asked me for money and they are usually pretty blunt. If they are not feeling you, they tell you straight up and you move on. If they are, you schedule a real date and see if you guys are compatible. I have definitely met some strange and interesting characters online i.e a lesbian couple who were married and wanted to hang out with me. I also met a sergeant from the army who doubles as a DJ and film director Nigeria First thing that happens is that they call me swts or dearie or some term of endearment. My brother if a Naija babe that you meet online calls you sweetie, run!! Because the next thing you would hear is how they are stranded or they need money for credit. One told me that her parents are very rich, but yet she asked me for transport money. I have lost count of the number that ask for credit. The conversation usually goes like this Me: Hey, whats up? Her: Not fine -- Ol boy when you hear this one, RUN! Next thing is to ask for credit Me: Why? What happened? Her: My data is finished Me: Really? Big Girl like you. Her: Can you send me like N1000 credit? Me: Deletes number right away I do enjoy online interactions but I am definitely not desperate so none of this ever works for me. What I enjoy is having a great conversation with a person online but alas most Nigerian babes seem to have lost the art of conversing. NB: I am NOT saying that Nigerian girls are gold diggers, I was simply narrating some events that happened in the past. Nigerian women just like women all over the world have their bad, good and ugly. |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:Please read the article below and STOP exposing your ignorance about Nigeria's oil dealings!! http://businessdayonline.com/2014/06/questions-over-nigerias-use-of-middlemen-to-market-crude/ YES Nigeria sells oil to the USA through intermediaries! You are either willfully blind to the truth or you are paid to post the praises of the most corrupt government Nigeria has ever had. Below is an excerpt from the link above: “Nigeria is the only major oil producing country that sells its crude oil through intermediaries, and Nigeria is the one that loses money by selling its crude oil through intermediaries. We know what is right, but we have not done it. That is the issue of governance that we are talking about,” said Dayo Ayoade, senior lecturer, Energy Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, adding that the middlemen are offered an opportunity to make margins through reselling the crude. For ANYONE that did basic primary school, they can see from the bolded that Nigeria IS LOSING money by selling our crude oil through intermediaries! And yet you come here and talk about having faith in useless economists that are NOT adding value to our country. If you cannot and would not see the TRUTH that is right before your eyes, then I am sorry FOR YOU |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:I have read this thread with great interest and you have said ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING about why Nigeria is the ONLY country that sells its oil through intermediaries. All you do is beat around the bush. The question is VERY simple. Why is Nigeria the ONLY country in the world that sells its oil through intermediaries? Since you have REFUSED to answer the question, let me answer it again. This unwholesome practice happened to ensure that there is no accountability regarding how much oil Nigeria actually sells and in order to get kickbacks through these third party agents. If you have something intelligent to say then feel free to say it and stop posting garbage about target sales and market forces, things you obviously know nothing about. Nigeria is not the only oil producing country that has a set target for sales or is subject to market forces so those feeble excuses DO NOT hold water. @Gbawe your response was insightful and I was amazed to see that you actually wrote about this as far back as 2012! I am glad that there are still Nigerians out there who would not mortgage themselves for 3 akara balls and a sack of rice https://www.nairaland.com/1185867/fg-may-dump-ribadu-report |
saintandsinnerz:There are 2 things here 1. A concession deal was signed with India because they buy a lot of crude from us. 2. The NNPC sells oil through intermediaries to India While we may exonerate the last administration on account of the concession deal, they are wholly to blame for buying oil through intermediaries. You need to read the damning interview again! The Indian high commissioner said that Nigeria is the ONLY country in the world that sells oil through intermediaries! Take note of the word ONLY. This was obviously done to ensure that the third party agents get illegal fees on EVERY barrel of crude oil Nigeria sells! And if you go back further enough, you would discover that these third party agents are linked to the Minister and corrupt government officials. Diezani obviously didn't want this corrupt practice to stop for 2 reasons 1. The NNPC does NOT want the funds that accrue from the sale of crude oil to be deposited directly with the CBN. They want to be in a position to say how much was received and also decide when and how much of the money they would eventually remit to the Federation account. Obviously they can quote a much lower figure than was actually received and they can also gain interest by holding on to the funds. 2. The illegal and corrupt kickbacks that the third party agents would receive from the sale of crude oil would obviously find its way back to the Minister, her cohorts and other influential government officials. I have always said that the NNPC is a CESSPIT of CORRUPTION and this interview obviously proves it. Hopefully the new MD is able to restructure it, nut it would definitely NOT be an easy task. I think it is also high time that the NNPC is privatized. |
Moana:We make most of our critical decisions in life based on assumption, believe it or not. For instance, when you decide to marry, you are making an assumption that your would be spouse is decent and has your best interest at heart. For all you know he might be Jack the Ripper so basically you are getting married based on an assumption. You also make an assumption when you start a new job. You are assuming that your new employer would not sack you the next day. So you can see that we as human beings do indeed make critical decisions based on assumptions but the only difference is that we make those assumptions subconsciously. what exactly made this a date and not just a regular lunch? Did they have sex on the table or what?Ma'am I believe that not every date you have ever had in your life ended up in sex, so I would throw the question back. A date does not have to end up in sex for it to be a date. What defines a date is the person you are with, simple. so what makes the lunch she has with this guy the same lunch she would have with her fiance/boyfriend?It is not about the lunch but rather it is about the person you are with. okay if this is not a trivial matter that cannot be sorted by talking and setting boundaries, tell me what he will do when he faces mid-life crisis? Kill his wife and children then kill himself? If you think that cheating is trivial, then this definitely qualifies as a trivial matter. If on the other hand, you think that cheating is NOT trivial then this is definitely not a trivial matter. |
Moana:Ma'am there is a HUGE difference. First of, lunch with your colleague or friend is just lunch and NOT a date. Apparently this was a date NOT lunch. Secondly if you receive a call from your friend or colleague in the presence of your spouse you would NOT excuse yourself from your spouse's presence (except of course that friend is more than just a friend) so it is safe to assume that the DJ is more than a 'friend'. Thirdly you would not try to hide the lunch date from your fiance if it was an innocent lunch. Does eating out with another person, imply that you have an emotional connection or attachment with such a person? No it doesn't but the problem is that this was a lunch date as opposed to a regular lunch. And what matters here is not the lunch, but the person you are with. For example I could have lunch with a friend or with my girlfriend but in both cases you would agree that the dynamics is different. It is either you choose to fix the problem move on and if your ego can't handle it, you break up with the person. It does not in anyway make sense for a matured adult to retaliate over something so trivial. I agree and disagree with you. I agree that the problem could possibly be fixed but I disagree that it is a trivial matter. There is nothing trivial about emotional cheating(possibly physical), lying, disrespect and a complete breakdown of trust. For one moment stop thinking that it is just a simple lunch and logically analyze the situation. You would see that she has started cheating on him emotionally |
Moana:Ma'am I do not know where you come from but even in the most permissive societies it is NOT and I repeat IT IS NOT normal for a woman or man to go on a date with another man/woman a few days to his or her wedding! Let us not try to excuse what is clearly inexcusable. I believe you know what emotional cheating is and the woman in question is clearly cheating on her fiance emotionally (there is not enough evidence to say if she is cheating physically). I would be the first to say that it is true that Nigerian men have pretty fragile egos but this has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with men's ego. |
laudate:I did read you post from the beginning and I can summarize your arguments in 2 sentences: 1. Why did the MD decide to retire 1000 people from NNPC early? 2. Was due process followed? And the answers to your argument still remains the same 1. It is the MD's right to terminate appointments if need be. The MD is obviously trying to restructure NNPC and is cutting off deadweight. 2. Due process was definitely followed. You cannot terminate the jobs of a 1000 people without following due process. It is just not possible in the civil service/NNPC Does this answer your questions/concerns? |
proxillin:@poster There is a Chinese proverb that says that it is only a friend that would tell you that you have spit on your face. Bro you need to be that friend now. Since you have acknowledged the fact that you think he should cancel the wedding but you do not want to tell him, why not advise him to at lesast postpone the wedding? His happiness is much more important than any money he has spent thus far on the wedding. The honest truth is that there are just too many red flags 1. She told the DJ her friend is getting married. I honestly don't buy the argument that she said it to get a better deal from the DJ. Ask any DJ or wedding caterer and they would always tell you that the bride makes it clear that it is her wedding! Please how would you get a better deal by saying that it is your friend's wedding? In fact the DJ WOULD even CHARGE MORE because you are a third party! 2. She excuses herself from her fiance to answer calls from the DJ. We all agree that there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for this. How can my wife to be, excuse herself from my presence to answer a call? I would call of the wedding right away Finally your friend said that he would get married and cheat. Does he think that he is the only one with the ability to cheat? What makes him think that his wife wouldn't cheat as well? Why go through ALL THIS STRESS ![]() ![]() It is obvious that she is not ready to get married so your friend should put postpone the wedding(or better still cancel it). You are obviously a good friend but you have to tell your friend the hard truth. Let us know how it goes during the reconciliation meeting you organized |
Through www.dice.com. However it is only applicable to residents of the US as it caters to jobs in America. Jobs I got when I was in Nigeria 1. NYSC 2. Naijahotjobs 3. Jobberman |
laudate:@laudate I have read most of your posts and I really have no idea why you are up in arms about this early retirement. You asked why he is retiring staff that were meant to retire in December 2016 now, but the question is WHY SHOULDN'T THEY BE RETIRED? What value are they really adding? Are you aware of the billions that would be saved by retiring them now rather than waiting till December 2016? This is what is called RESTRUCTURING and as far as I am concerned more deadwood should be cut out from NNPC. We all know that the NNPC is an incredibly inefficient and humongous bureaucracy and the place NEEDS TO BE SANITIZED!! As far as i am concerned the MD is actually being nice by retiring only a thousand people. Change is painful but it is necessary. Obviously the MD is trying to run NNPC like a limited liability company and he OUGHT TO BE COMMENDED not condemned. It really blows my mind that we Nigerians say we want change but when the change starts to happen we start complaining. Do we really want an NNPC that has no idea how much crude oil Nigeria is generating? An NNPC that refuses that refuses to remit funds from sale of crude oil to the federal account? An NNPC that has not been audited for almost 10 years? Is this what we really want? Besides all the people that were retired early would be paid their full benefits so what exactly is the problem? |
@ poster You have tried to change a woman for 2 years and she has not changed. Are you really still expecting her to change? Your case is like a woman dating a man that beats her and still expects him to change. That is definitely not going to happen except by the grace of God. Your girlfriend is NOT going to change, so you have 2 choices. 1. Cut your losses short and end the relationship 2. Pretend she is going to change and keep on wondering why she treats you poorly. From everything you have said, she does NOT respect you and this relationship is going absolutely nowhere. Your choice |
peacettw:I am SO GLAD that finally someone has the balls (excuse my English ma'am) to call this what it is. It is A BELOW AVERAGE RESULT!!!! What is even sadder is that we as Nigerians are now celebrating mediocrity! It baffles me that this is on the front page. I would say this again, this is at BEST an average result! 2 A's and 4 C's and people are jumping over the moon?? Is our educational system that bad? If I had this result in my time I would have been flogged by my father! We SHOULD STOP celebrating mediocrity! @peacettw You have your head in the right place ma'am. Please never stop teaching your kids to aspire to be the best. Your mom obviously did a great job with you and its a good thing that you are passing on the torch |
Truckpusher:He took her to a hotel to sober up? REALLY ??Even Nollywood wouldn't put that in a script. Come on bro, we are not kids and we all know there is only one reason he took her to a hotel. |
fpeter:Ah! I get it now. Where have you been all my life? If I had known this is what women look out for, I would have started growing a Rick Ross style beard so that I can look 'manly'. Hope it is still not too late though |
fpeter:I don't understand. How does he look like a husband ?I am really curious. What does a man have to do to look like a husband? |
Attached is the result of someone I know very well. So I ask again, Why oh why is this post on front page ![]() ![]() Why are we celebrating what is at best an average result ? We really need to stop celebrating mediocrity as Nigerians! This really has NO business on the front page!!!
|
I opened this link expecting to see 9 A1's and this is what I see?? ![]() Why is this on the front page anyway?? There is absolutely nothing special about this result so why oh why is it on the front page?? I had 6A's when I wrote WAEC so please what is the big deal ![]() |
demmy0325:If you are not justifying rape by the inane rantings that you posted the what exactly are you doing? You are basically saying that because the lady in question removed her top to hug 2Face then she is inviting rape. I don't say this often, but THAT IS ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!!!! If that is the case does that mean that women at the beach are also inviting rape since they are only wearing bikinis? Reading your post it is pretty easy to deduce that you have never traveled to a Western country in summer and seen what women wear here. A lot of women wear tank tops that show their belly but nobody ever says that they are inviting rape. You really need to drop this backward mentality and educate yourself. What is even sadder than your misguided post is the fact that you got 218 likes!! That only means that we as a nation would soon become another South Africa where a woman is raped every 15 seconds. It is sad that as men our thinking is so primitive that we are eager to like a post that indirectly tries to justify rape. |
i would have to disagree with the president's statement. Nigeria SHOULD NOT GO back to Agriculture! While it is true that we need to diversify from crude oil, we should not be thinking about agriculture as a means to earn foreign exchange. As a country we need to aspire to be like the developed countries and NONE of them rely on agriculture as their major source of forex so why should we? We need to break out of the cycle whereby we export unprocessed agricultural goods and then import those same goods when they have been processed at a much higher premium! Mr. President agriculture is surely not the way to go. We definitely need to revamp the agricultural sector to ensure we are self sufficient but we should be looking at services and manufacturing as major revenue earners. |
Please! Please!! Please!!! Let him be the one to introduce you to his family. If you try to work your way into his family's good grace you would only end up looking desperate and no man likes that. Just let it flow. Besides your boyfriend may or may not be looking for a lasting relationship so don't try to force his hand because it would backfire. If the relationship eventually gets to the point where he is comfortable introducing you to his family, then he would do it. But for now chill and enjoy the relationship. I am assuming he is Nigerian? |
There is absolutely no such rubbish as a suitable career for a married woman! Married women are heading Fortune 500 companies and you are asking what a suitable career for a married woman is ![]() And annoyingly some lazy women on this post also agree with the poster and are busy typing a list of "suitable" careers. Whatever a woman did before she got married, she should continue to do, SIMPLE! All that is required is her husband's understanding and a period of adjustment. |
Emeka you are "more well known" no vex biko.
Thanks to the administration, there was MASSIVE investment in power, from generation to transmission to distribution. Thanks to same administration, private sector participation was FULLY introduced via the privatization of NEPA, thus eliminating govt inefficiency. You now enjoy more power thanks to all these. That means the OPEX of businesses, particularly SMEs have been SLASHED, thus allowing for growth.
