RomanceRe: My Fiancee Is Very Aggressive And Rude by sevule(m): 6:49pm On Mar 09, 2016
Inspinia:
I tried what the strahovski man said and the trust fall thing worked. She caught me when I fell and I asked her why she hates me she said that she doesn't hate me that I am only doing things at the wrong time and at the wrong place.

We are communicating now.. for the past 3 months we haven't really talked as much as we talked last night most times she goes out and just threatens me and shut me up but last night was different. I see hope now at least she has given me a reason for 8 months of no reason for her actions.

No true counsellor would ask me to run away.
When your life is in danger a true counselor WOULD ADVISE YOU TO RUN AWAY!!! That is what everyone here is saying, but you are HELLBENT on sticking with your violent and abusive fiance even to your own detriment.

I am glad that you have spoken to her but PLEASE POSTPONE YOUR MARRIAGE INDEFINITELY!!!
If she changes (remember people almost never change) then you can set a new date for the wedding, if she does not then you end the relationship. The ball is in your court
RomanceRe: My Fiancee Said She Can't Support Her Husband! by sevule(m): 8:54am On Mar 07, 2016
If a woman I want to marry says that she would not support me then what exactly is she to me? Why am I getting married to her? Are there women that actually think like this in this day and age?

Bro you are lucky that your relationship is 3 months old so there is still time to retrace your steps. The fact that she has some 'redeemable' qualities does not make her a wife material, period. By definition a wife is supposed to be your help mate, so if a woman tells you categorically that she would NOT support you when you get married, then she is NOT a wife, plain and simple!

My advice is simple, End this relationship NOW while you still can and don't even bother testing her as she has already revealed her true character. And don't even think about trying to change her, because PEOPLE LIKE THIS DO NOT CHANGE.

The senators really needs to be educated on this as most of them don't understand the dynamics. I can't blame them because they only understand politics.

Nigerians are paying the 2nd cheapest electricity in Africa but want to enjoy 24hrs light as if the equipment needed for electricity generation or transmission are cheap!

Azura a 450MW Genco in Edo will spend over $1.2billion to build their plant, sell to NBET who will give Gencos who will sell for stipends while battling with consumer's who don't pay bills and illegal connections etc so Gencos won't be able to pay NBET who won't pay Azura who won't be able to pay their bank loans (and for gas supply)!

Solution: Increase electricity tariff and cancel estimated billing to consumers. Disconnect those that don't pay. This will bring confidence to the market and attract investors!
I COMPLETELY AGREE!
They should start disconnecting non paying customers, starting with the National Assembly!

People are paying 100 times more than the tariff for running their generators!

"Success is sweet, I tell you! When you don’t have to depend on daddy, husband, bf, Aristo. ..for anything you want..nothing beats that!". Does she always have to point this out?

I think it's high time she stopped all these her speeches cos she keeps revealing her insecurities more with each speech. Is she trying to say she would have hustled this hard if she had a rich dad or even a husband?

Yes, she is self made but not everybody can be like her, she should stop trying to belittle people with her statements. It only shows how incomplete she feels even with all the money.
I don't get it!! Why are you berating her for being proud that her success is not as a result of a man?? Isn't it a good thing to see a woman that works hard for her money? As far as I am concerned Linda Ikeji is a shining role model that young women should look up to. She has clearly shown that you do not need a man to make it in life!

And for all the people beefing her I don't get it either!
How many celebrities in Nigeria are consistent in charitable deeds? She is the only one I know that actually tries to give back to society and y'all are here lambasting her. All we hear from Davido, Wiz kid and their like is how they recently acquired a new car or a new watch or some other rubbish. How often do these people give back to society?

Whether the bag is real or fake, I really don't give a hoot. Abeg free the woman and let her enjoy the wealth she worked hard for.

I like and totally appreciate mature reasoning and the quest for understanding debates generate. Your view is true but that is not governance, that is politics. It ends at the polls. When you are sworn in you've got to start cashing in on the goodwill to do what is right, not perpetuate what is wrong. The quest for popularity after elections is wrong.

Buhari should take the tough road to restructuring Nigeria, instilling equity and justice, changing the socio-economic scape, diversifying the economy. Granted these are harder to do than 'corruption wars' but these are legacy projects to last far beyond his tenure. I'm afraid the way things are going he will have no legacy and the only hope he has of preventing a total washout of his presidency is oil price rises.

Why can't he set us on the path of economic emancipation. Why.
I completely agree with you. My problem with the Buhari administration is that it does not seem to have an economic road map. Which sectors of the economy does the government want to grow? How can we industrialize when we don't have power? How can the Naira ever strengthen against the dollar when we import most of the fuel we use?
The truth is that you can't tackle all of Nigeria's problems but a wise man would concentrate on tackling the problems that would yield the most benefit. Unfortunately our government seems to have no idea how to stir the economy

This is kerosene user's mentality. There is no need for all this so called gratitude and nonsense talk of fingers that fed.
If you employ someone to do a job pay hem a fair wage. All this so called "help" that desires people to worship another for life is hypocrisy. Every person was born the same way and no one is superior to another . But something within our psyche has this need to dominate and be worshipped.
Of what relevance is it that your relatives could not speak English . You say they started feeling like they arrived . So you don't want them to "ARRIVE" you want them to never forget that they were brought from the village.Did your mum not come from the same village . If they are your relatives why feel superior? Because your folk left village first. Ask this question .

Who is the father of Obasanjo ,IBB<Nwakwo Kanu etc.

In almost all cases when people take so called relatives abroad they wish to exploit them. Expecting them to work 7 days a week with sketchy terms Because they paid for tickets and Visa and are always bitter when these people outperform them. They will never let them forget they once "could not speak English".

What I find amazing with all of this is it is this same folk who are the most active in church.
I couldn't have said it better!!
Nigerians are probably the MOST entitled people on earth and feel that they should be worshiped when they render assistance to other people, case in point the original poster - Faith111.
The only time they don't feel so entitled is when the person they are dealing with is an 'oyinbo'

**** How is the step mother whoring around? Is she still married? Is she having sex with multiple men? She is single and having a boyfriend is allowed as she is not cheating. That house is also her house so it also belongs to her. So must she go and do it outside or do it in a hotel for the rest of her life? So all those men who remarried new wives or in relationships should also respect their deceased wife by never spending time with them at their own house? Surely you are not this moronic. I am suspicious about the son in law. I won't be surprised that he has the hoohah for his step mother and that's why he was so against the relationship and attacked the guy. He could have spoken to his mother in law sincerely about it but he decided to kill instead. I mean if you stab someone in the head what did he expect would happen
Most sensible answer BY FAR!!
I definitely don't support sex outside marriage but last time I checked the woman is a widow!!!
What she does and who she does it with is strictly her business as her husband is dead.
And why would the step son keep saying that it is his father's house? At 41, shouldn't he either be living in his own house or building his house?
What is his business with his father's house?

@POSTER. You have to remember this - "Your sister's house, Your sister's RULES!". The way I see it you have 3 choices

1.) Move into your own place or back with your parents
2. ) Endure your sister's ecccentricities. I would suggest that you sleep when she goes to work and do the things you would normally do when she wakes up
3.) Appeal to your sister and try and make a deal with her. Only you knows your sister's soft spot. ry and appeal to that side of her

Don't forget that you are living in your sister's house and she is providing accommodation for you for free. Try not to be ungrateful

I simply DON'T understand Nigerians!!!!!

I really don't get it!! Why is everyone on this forum calling for Obassanjo's head? Are we really THAT DUMBhuh
Obasanjo in his rather detailed letter explained that the National Assembly is very corrupt and REFUSES to publish its audited budget and yet all we are concerned about is lambasting Obasanjo for what happened during his time!!!!

For those that did not bother to read the letter, the summary of the letter is that our 'honourabe' senators illegally appropriate money for themselves through the backdoor and this practice continues even though our revenue is dwindling. These senators are only interested in enriching their pockets with OUR MONEY!!

The most ANNOYING thing is that not one person on this forum actually addressed the issues that Obasanjo raised but they were more interested in crucifying him. Our senators are literally stealing our money and we don't CARE!!

Truly Nigerians DESERVE our THIEVING AND CORRUPT SENATORS!

Femiero!! Femiero!! I was pretty impressed when I saw your rebuttal. Whenever people say that you can work in the US for 20 years and have no savings The great thing about staying in the US is that if you are level headed and not carried away with frivolities you can save at least $1000 monthly (which is almost more than my salary when I was in naija).

And the great thing about the States is the fact that there are deals everywhere if you only know wherre to look. For example my credit card company gives me 1% cashback for every dollar I spend! So if I spend about $15,000 a year, I get $150 back for free! And I don't even get charged by the credit card company cos I pay off the card on time. And you can always get amazing deals on clothing, electronics and stuff on Ebay

@Femiero - check out H2OWireless. I pay $36 a month as my phone bill and I get unlimited text, calls and data. And they even give me $20 every month for free to call Nigerian and international numbers!

Obviously the poster has NEVER traveled outside the shores of Nigeria otherwise he wouldn't talk about washing dead bodies. I have been outside Nigeria for a while and I have NEVER met a single Nigerian that washes dead bodies. And the MOST ANNOYING thing is the fact that the poster is most probably an UNEMPLOYED graduate who has the audacity to look down on other people who are gainfully employed.

Like everyone else has said there is NOTHING wrong with the jobs on the list with the exception of drug smuggling. There is dignity in labor and it is FAR better to be a cleaner than an unemployed graduate whose sole aim is to write senseless posts on Nairaland. PoliticsRe: BRT: Lagos Govt Terminates Agreement With Operator by sevule(m): 9:00pm On Jan 07, 2016
naptu2:
Yes. That's my only fear about this move.

The Lagos State Government banned danfos and molues from Ikoyi and Victoria Island in 2002. This was a test run before a proposed state wide ban.

The government licensed private operators to run transport services instead of molues and danfos. The most popular operator was Cross Country Nigeria, an inter-state transport operator. Cross Country provided intra-state transport services using the name City Bus.

City Buses were air conditioned Toyota Coaster and Hiace buses. The drivers and conductors wore dark blue trousers, white shirts and blue ties. Most of them were graduates. The buses only stopped designated bus stops. The fare was 50 naira for every journey. This suited people who were going from Obalende to Ajah, but was too expensive for people going from Obalende to Falomo.

The agberos and NURTW members went crazy because they could not extort money from the City Buses. They destroyed the buses and bus stop shelters. The Lagos State Government banned touting at bus stops and arrested many agberos (Ikoyi and VI were filled with mobile policemen), but the union went to court to enforce their right to freedom of movement as enshrined in the constitution. They said that bus stops are public places and the government has no right to stop them from entering or standing at bus stops. They won the case.

Students of the Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research also destroyed City Buses because they felt that the fares were too expensive.

The Lagos State Government eventually had to back down. They eventually licensed NURTW to provide transport services in Ikoyi and V.I. Cross Country eventually had to pull out of the system because they could not compete with the cheap fares charged by NURTW buses.

NURTW was given a BRT franchise because of what happened during the City Bus experiment.
I am pretty impressed by your post!!!!! You sound knowledgeable and your post is obviously well researched. Funny enough I actually stayed in NIOMR during the City Bus period but this is the first time I heard about students destroying the city buses. And I always wondered why the laudable CityBus project suddenly packed up.

Truly Nigerians are our own worst enemies!!!!! Why do we ALWAYS destroy infrastructure whenever we have a grouse?? What ever happened to demonstrations, pressurizing elected officials and other legal means of airing our grievances??

Nigeria is truly a JUNGLE!

Low inflation, high unemployment, budget surplus and low growth rates indicates that Country B is facing recessionary pressures which makes it a candidate for expansionary fiscal policy.
On the contrary with Nigeria which has a Debt to GDP of 10.5% (low according to segunpee), high inflation @ 8.7%, high unemployment @ 9.9%, and a budget deficit of 2.2 Trillion out of a total budget of 6.07 Trillion. How in God's green earth would an expansionary fiscal policy pulls us out of our present economic doldrums? ??
@gottlieglobal I really enjoyed your analysis of expansionary fiscal policy. I am no sure what the difference is between expansionary fiscal policy and and expansionary budget(is there even such a thing?), but my take is that for Nigeria to escape our present economic doldrums the government NEEDS to spend HEAVILY on capital projects that would yield returns such as infrastructure and power (yes power is supposed to be privatized but that is a discussion for another day). Basically we need a budget that is more of a stimulus package.

What is your take on this? And how do you think we can escape our rather unenviable economic situation?

Am just trying to be careful and wise unless I make up my mind to go for 700k, but for now. Sighs.
But I have his signature and acknowledgement on my agreement, am just wondering what it would cost to get to court and see help I need, would it ware me out? Would it take for ever?
That Nigerian slothful fashion in approaches like this is what am pondering on
Do NOT, I repeat Do NOT collect that 700k! I am not a lawyer but collecting the money means that you have agreed to the owners new terms and you can kiss the N1.7M goodbye. What you should do is simple. Get a lawyer to FORMALLY write a letter to the owner of the house requesting for your payment and hinting at possible litigation. This would prove to the owner that you are VERY serious and chances are that he would beg you to take like 1.2M. Do not communicate with the owner AGAIN till you have sent him the letter!

The truth is that the owner is at a DISTINCT disadvantage because he is in the UK so he simply can't afford a lawsuit. Be SMART and get a lawyer to draft that letter now! The owner would definitely not want a lawsuit hanging over him and he would try and settle this matter ASAP. Once he sees the letter, chances are that the matter wouldn't even need to go to court. Make sure that the letter is official and if possible send a scanned copy of the letter to his email address and the physical copy by courier.

Best of luck and please keep us posted

Why is it wrong to compare the chancellor and the minister of finance. The fact that the chancellor has more authority and influence makes it more damning that Mr. Osborne has never had a proper day job in his life, not to talk of a finance job. A Modern history graduate for crying out loud!!
The talk about the structure of the country is a different matter entirely. I actuall agree with you, in fact I think the country is structured to fail.
I was telling a friend this afternoon that, the only thing holding Nigeria together is the greed of the political class. It is the same thing that will push it over the cliff.
I agree with CSTR2 that Adeosun's resume is not strong enough. So what is a solid resume? Simply look at the resumes of Tony Elumelu, Sanusi(Ex CBN governer), Godwin Emefiele etc. Basically a person that has financial experience at the highest levels of corporate governance and some level of global financial experience. It is pretty obvious that when compared to these people, Adeosun is definitely a greenhorn. She does NOT have financial experience at the highest levels of management.

That said, even though she is a green horn NOTHING stops her from succeeding in her current posting. I REALLY hope that for the sake of our economy she succeeds

Mumus full Lagos and the degree of ignorance exhibited here shows why many of you are jobless or in poor jobs in the first instance.

If a bank customer must have BVN to operate an account in any bank in Nigeria, don’t you think a bank may request same from potential candidates?

Why the account number? Just check the website, I have applied too. It asks you for all the documents ever needed for documentation so I guess it’s just that they need you to provide all the details to weed out those who won’t make the cut before they even ask you to show for interview.

Guys, open your eyes. Mugu.ng

cool
Why do you have to use derogatory and derisive language to pass your point across? You are looking for a job YET you are calling other job seekers mumu! Does that make ANY sense at all? Classic case of pot calling kettle black.

Like others said, why not chat with a customer service rep on their website? They should be able to tell you if the link is authentic

That said if the link is indeed authentic, Fidelity Bank has absolutely NO RIGHT to ask job seekers for their bank account details and BVN! It is unfortunate that even corporate establishments in Nigeria are breaking the laws with reckless abandon. I am shocked that HR would approve this clear violation of HR guidelines. The ONLY time they should have ANY business with your account details is when you are offered a job.

I am not sure which regulatory body is in charge of issues like this, but this violation should definitely be reported to them

It still doesn't make much sense. Did he shrink & wither overnight? I refuse to believe she had no idea, unless he walked around in a fatsuit like Martin in Big Momma's House grin How is that possible that she couldn't even imagine how small he is with or without clothes? Sorry to say this, but she sounds like a dummy undecided

She picked him, she can now live with that choice. Tough!
I completely agree! When I read the post I was pretty confused. Its like marrying a black woman then waking up one morning to say that you are not attracted to your wife because she is black and not Asian.

The only thing she can do is to carry her cross. The person I pity is her husband

You can't be serious. You have been hardened, and this is not the way to live.

Let's ASSUME she only used him for paying her school fees:

The man can always make more money to replace the funds he used, he could always mend his broken heart with a new love.
She can never get her life back. Death is final.

If you don't see how that's not an even trade, then you and HugoChavezJr are lost causes.
There is really no use talking to these people because they are so full of hate. I can only PITY them!
