PoliticsRe: Fashola Is Corrupt, He Cannot Accuse Yoruba Leaders Of Betrayal – Afenifere by sevule(m): 12:33am On Mar 26, 2015
Afenifere huh huh huh Who the heck are they?? After they have sold themselves to Jonathan for a few dollars they suddenly found their voices. They have suddenly become self righteous because Fashola exposed them for who they are. They are just like Gani Adams of the OPC who started singing Jonathan's praise to high heavens because he was awarded an ILLEGAL pipeline contract!

The worst part is that they even tried to belittle Fashola's laudable achievements. Fashola built what is probably the best bridge in Nigeria in Ikoyi and they had the audacity to actually question the amount that was used in building it. In case they have forgotten, their Paymaster quoted a figure THAT IS 5 TIMES what Fashola used in building the Lekki bridge to build the second Niger bridge!(A bridge that IS STILL YET TO BE BUILT!) And yet these old men would be screaming themselves hoarse because of a few dollars instead of asking why a similar bridge should be built at six times the cost.

I would not bother myself to list Fashola's achievements because they are too numerous to mention. The only thing that pains me is that Fashola is not the one running for President
FamilyRe: He Is 36, Still Stays With His Parents And Wants To Marry Her. Help!!! by sevule(m): 8:15pm On Mar 21, 2015
@poster

Your friend is obviously scared because the man invoked God. God HAS NEVER been a God of confusion. If the Holy Spirit spoke to HIM and said that she would be his wife, then the Holy Spirit would also speak to her and confirm same in her heart.

As it stands she has no interest in the guy and the guy is SIMPLY LAZY!!! The bible clearly states that a man that does not provide for his own family is worse than an infidel. For goodness sake this man that is 36 years old is still waiting for the outcome of his father's case!!! Does he sound like a serious man? He is already boasting about money that is not his and he has not interest in making his own money.

My problem with your friend is that it sounds as is she is easily swayed by material things because there is absolutely no reason that she should be giving this guy ANY AUDIENCE! He is 36, lives with his mom, is waiting for his father's court case and has never worked in his life!!!! And your friend is ACTUALLY contemplating MARRYING him??

Sometimes the gullibility of some women never ceases to amaze me. Abeg brothers never finish for church. Your friend should take this matter to prayer and if she still feels he is not right for her, she needs to cut him off and look to another. If she decides to marry him despite all the red flags all I can wish her is best of luck

One thing about ignorance is people talking for talking sake without basic knowledge about anything.

Go to akpabio's website, he listed on his website what he did, what he's working on and budgeted for?

We know what the man budgeted for and what he's building so you can not make up what doesn't exist or what the man himself did not claim he did...
The man has done absolutely NOTHING and yet his praise singers would be here singing his praises for non existent projects. What I wonder is HOW he was reelected despite his non performance.

Like I said, I said all he he completed after 8 years in office and the largest budget in Nigeria are the few roads, flyover, 1 library, 1 cinema and 1 football field.

The rest of the crap you listed are all uncompleted.

Fashola built many hospitals, health centers, burn centers, nursing schools, but after 8 years in office and the largest budget in Nigeria, Akpabio is yet to complete 1 single hospital and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Fashola built many schools, but Akpabio did not build 1 single classroom after 8 years in office and the largest budget in Nigeria and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Fashola built 29 skills acquisition centers, Akpabio did not build any, and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Fashola built 15 waterworks, but akpabio put plastic water bottle on scaffolding and called it water works, and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Where are the housing estates?

Where are the government buildings and institutions

Where are the bridges?

Where are the visionary projects?

Again, you need your head checked...
Your post makes so much sense and demonstrates how daft and docile Nigerians can be. It never ceases to AMAZE me how Nigerians can be so daft as to support and even defend governors that are obviously not doing anything!

@Mmsen aresa
WAS NOT attacking you, he was simply stating SOME VERY HARD TRUTHS!!!
If you think that Akpabio was such an excellent governor and rendered a good account of his stewardship why not list major projects that he has accomplishedhuh
Why do people like you act as though Akpabio is using HIS money to fund these projects? For goodness sake the money that he is blindly stealing belongs TO YOU AND I!!!! IT IS OUR RIGHT TO QUESTION OUR GOVERNORS AND ASK THEM TO ACCOUNT FOR THEIR BUDGETS!!

But they would continue to steal us blind as long as we have people who would go about singing their praises when they build one measly stadium.
@Mmesan Please stop defending the indefensible. Akpabio has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for Akwa Ibom!!!!

You are still hanging on point and makes you more ignorant,Rubbles crashed because of market manipulations and a systematic approach to bring down the government of that country .Dont put me into trouble .The Nigerian naira is not stable because of so many factors ,we import refined oil ,and you need to bring in fuel ,pms, koresine, diesel, bitumen, fertilizers , HDP,LDP all bye products of Crude are all imported and you need to buy buy dollars to buy them. Now what about if you refine them locally from your crude what will happen, you will not purchase dollars any more because its available locally .so the pressure of buying dollars reduces. The higher the demand the higher the prices ,the lower the demand for the dollars, the lower the prices .so translate it to politicians at this time changing all their Naira to dollars with all the local consumption being imported .your shoes are imported, your ,panties are imported, your shirt ,so what is produced in your country.
Sister your analysis is SPOT ON!Why do you even try to educate someone who has refused to be educated??

Of course the reason that the Naira is falling is because of our over dependence on foreign imports and fuel. And despite the fact that oil consistently sold at its highest price ever we have ABSOLUTELY
nothing to show for it! In fact our foreign reserves are now much lower than when Jonathan entered power and yet some people are so daft as to be saying GEJ till 2019.

If Jonathan comes back to power don't be surprised that the Naira would eventually hit N350 to a dollar. If he couldn't manage our resources when oil was selling at over $120 a barrel please how would he be able to manage it now that oil is selling at $30 a barrel?

My dear we are talking about Nigeria! Not America or the UK! And I see no basis for your comparison. In those countries you listed how many of their governors campaign like fashola did riding on top of a moving car and throwing food into the gutter like this?

as for your other assertion mister "I've been to" I'll let you reel in your ignorance.
My sister if indeed you have ever left Nigeria, it makes your views even more SHOCKING!!! Even in Ghana, South Africa and Togo their presidents do not use the state's entire police force to move from point A to B!

It amazes me when people who ought to know better actually condone wrong doing and worse still call it GOOD. So you apparently think that it is right that 2000 policemen be assigned to guard ONE MAN while leaving the rest of us helpless? You apparently believe that our politicians are GODS and the rest of us are non entities.

Are you aware that these policemen are paid with your TAX money?
Are you aware that the president is a PUBLIC SERVANT not a PUBLIC GOD?

For heavens sake call a spade a spade and stop thinking like a slave!

You are certainly among those illiterates everywhere! Is Jonathan the first president to have massive police presence whenever he goes visiting any state? Since when has the "protocol" that has been in existance since independence become a Jonathan problem? Its unfortunate that robbers seized the opportunity of his visit to Lagos to perpetrate their act! But putting the blame on our president is down right senseless!!! Fashola and co should tell us if the police guarding them were also withdrawn for Jonathan.

Everyday robbery occurs all over the country and the police wikk be no where to be found that im sure is also Jonathans fault?
Are you actually calling someone an illiterate?? huh huh

Without a shadow of doubt it is pretty obvious that you have NEVER left Nigeria before otherwise you would not be making ASININE comments like this. People like you are the reasons Nigeria is going nowhere because you are so docile that you let politicians get away with murder!!

Try traveling to other countries and see the way their presidents are guarded. Whenever Obama visits a state in the US the entire state's police force is not deployed to guard him. And this is the MOST POWERFUL MAN in the world! For heavens sake the British PM occasionally uses public transport!! Ask yourself is Nigeria's president any better than the presidents of these great countrieshuh

Apparently you view yourself as a slave hence you see nothing wrong with an entire state's police force being deployed to guard ONLY ONE MAN! Fashola is an EXCELLENT example of how a CIVILIZED PRESIDENT should behave. When he is moving around Lagos he hardly uses sirens and neither does he move around with the entire Lagos Police Force. Is he dead yet? Until we learn to away with our slave mentality and start asking our leaders questions, they would continue to do as they please and lord it over us because we have decided to remain unquestioning sheep in the face of misuse of power

Sorry to say this Sir but you are talking ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!!!! You have your voodoo Economics completely upside down. The Naira was not devalued to bring in investment but it was devalued because it could not be supported against the dollar at the old rate. In spite of the fact that we have been selling crude at the highest prices Nigeria has ever seen OUR RESERVES ARE FAR LOWER THAN WHEN JONATHAN ENTERED OFFICE!!!

The annoying thing is that instead of people like you to be asking questions about what happened to all our money, you would rather sell yourself to Jonathan for a morsel of bread and then come to Nairaland to post beautiful nonsense.

Lol, I laud Fashola's achievement. Irrespective of which party he belongs to. Many PDP people rubbish his record. But I'm NOT a PDP member. I saw/see some of Fashola's achievement & base my judgement on that.

I presume you were a kid or not born yet during GMB's regime. Buhari did not fight any corruption the way people portray it. He merely punished Southern politicians like Dr Ekwueme & Pa Ajasin because they were not "his" people. Nothing against them.
Shagari who was over all in charge was chilling in a mansion, Southerners with nothing against them or just mere party donation from contractors were in jail. Aside Barkin Zuwo (with lots of money in bedroom) and one or two other Northern 2nd republic politician, no other were punished. If you don't know the history behind Umaru Dikko & Buhari that motivated attempted creating, then you know nothing about them.

My own close relative, a respected journalist of over 30 years then who tried revealing the hypocrisy of Buhari's govt was harassed and sacked from his civil service job. If Buhari is so clean and respects democracy, why did he refuse to appear before OPUTA PANEL?

Ask GMB to return the 2.8 billion he stole as oil minister, that Shagari traced to London Midland Bank account in Buhari's name (the reason he quickly overthrew Shagari) & the mismanaged 25 billion (as found out by OBJ) at PTDF under his watch.

When I briefly met GMB & heard his live speech when he was head of state, I thought he was decent until he unleashed his brutality.

Then we can talk of anti-corruption stance.

Now do you dispute any of those things GEJ achieved so far? Like new universities, Almajiri schools, Nissan producing in Nigeria, working railway??
You said quite a lot in your well worded response but I think you deliberately misrepresented the facts. Let us start with mismanagement of PTF. I have no idea where you got the 25 Billion you alleged Buhari mismanaged under PTF but let us look at how PTF was established. PTF was established using the funds that accrued to government as a result of the fuel increment.

Let us remember that what was budgeted for PTF was about 3 Naira (not sure of the exact figure) for every litre of petrol sold. In spite of this "pittance" no single Nigerian can say they were not touched by PTF. A lot of the Federal roads today were tarred by PTF. PTF provided drugs to federal hospitals and equipped virtually all the Federal schools and colleges.

Fast forward to today. Jonathan presided at a time when oil prices reached their highest ever price. Nigeria earned enough money to build 30 PTFs and still have change! And what do we have? Second hand coaches and a railway that takes 2 days to get to the North from Lagos! Is this the reason we should be THANKFUL?? Don't you read the news, Sir? Aren't you aware of the MONUMENTAL CORRUPTION that is going on?

You also mentioned Nissan. Like seriously? huh huh huh Are we supposed to be doing cartwheels because Nissan built an assembly plani in Nigeria? They didn't even build it, they simply converted an old assembly plant!! Have you forgotten that in the 90s we had Volkswagen, Steyr and Peugeot assembly plants. In any other country the president wouldn't even commission an assembly plant because there is nothing to it. The plant was built by a private company so please stop ascribing it to Jonathan.

It is sad that this is the sum of Jonathan's legacy - monumental corruption, a privately owned assembly plant and tokunbo locomotives

Bro you don't have anything to lose. Your ex's best friend is not the SAME PERSON AS YOUR EX!

Setup a date with her and try and ascertain the kind of person she is. What is her value system? What are the most important things in life to her? Take it slowly and endeavour to know who she really is. It is obvious that you like this woman so why would you want to let your ex's past destroy what could possibly be a promising relationship?

Please judge her by her own merits and not because she is your ex's friend. Finally if you are a christian pray about it as well.

Best of luck Bro! wink wink wink

PoliticsRe: Chadian Aircraft Bomb Nigerian Town In Anti-Boko Haram Raid by sevule(m): 12:13am On Feb 01, 2015
This is completely SHAMEFUL and the height of FOLLY! So we now have to rely on CHAD to win the war against Boko Haram? Chad fighter jets can just waltz into Nigerian airspace and bomb Nigerian villages at will?? Is this what the "giant" of Africa has become? A country too scared to deal with its own problems that it has to go to Chad? The same Chad that we have been giving AID to??
This is simply unbelievable!!!!

And to think that Jonathan asked for $1 billion to fortify our army. So the question now is where are the jets, tanks and weapons that were bought with the $1 billion? Or has the money gone to the same place that our $10 billion went? And before the money was approved I said in one of my posts on NL that nothing would come out of the $1 billion.

Spending
The CIA World Factbook estimates the military budget of Chad to be 4.2% of GDP as of 2006.[1]. Given the then GDP ($7.095 bln) of the country, military spending was estimated to be about $300 million. This estimate however dropped after the end of the Civil war in Chad (2005–2010) to 2.0%[6] as estimated by the World Bank for the year 2011. There aren't any more recent estimates available for 2012, 2013.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Chad

Looking at the above we can see that Chad spent only $300 million on their military in 2006 and Nigeria spent over $1 billion in 2006 and yet we DON'T HAVE FIGHTER JETShuh? Am i the only one that sees how LUDICROUS this situation is?

Year Dollars Spent % GDP
2007 $1,239,000,000 0.6%
2008 $1,741,000,000 0.8%
2009 $1,825,000,000 0.9%
2010 $2,143,000,000 1.0%
2011 $2,386,000,000 1.1%
2012 $2,100,000,000 1.0%
culled from http://militarybudget.org/nigeria/

Looking at the statistics in the past 4 years we have spent AT LEAST $10 billion on our military and yet we don't have fighter jetshuh Yet we cannot equip our soldiers?? Yet we need Chad to come and bomb our villages?? $10 billion spent and nothing to show for it?

Our situation is like Bill Gates begging an unemployed graduate for $50!! And that is not even to talk about the violation of our sovereign territory as a nation! How can any right thinking Nigerian celebrate another country bombing our villageshuh But this is what the current government in power has reduced us a nation to. A nation of beggars!

Isn't it the same Nigerian army that almost single-handedly ended the conflict in Liberia? In a saner climate the president and all the top military brass would all be in jail for criminal corruption!

Now I took the pain to go through both threads and I have this to add:

I must say your husband is a very vengeful person who does not communicate and should work on that. You 'punishing' him during courtship, using him as a meal ticket etc. is not a reason for his actions.

If he felt uncomfortable with your gluttony, he should have corrected you there and then, probably walked out your friends after one week etc. than store up your revenge after marriage undecided

@You: I am sure you have learnt your lessons and would be able to advise your friends same.

Yorubas have a proverb: What you do not intend to eat, you don't smell it.

Get my drift?

Take care
This probably the best post I have since so far. Don't get me wrong I am happy for you that your marriage troubles are over but your husband did a very terrible thing.

Using sex as a weapon to punish you physically is morally reprehensible even if it is your husband! The act of sex in marriage is meant to be enjoyed and your husband should have exercised patience instead of raping you repeatedly.
Till date I have no idea how men enjoy forced sex. How for goodness sake would any man enjoy sex with a woman that is crying? Two wrongs never did and would never make a right.

So what happens if you make your husband angry again? Would he rape you to punish you? That said I am glad that you guys have reconciled and I wish you a happy marriage but you guys DEFINITELY have to work on your communication because it is sorely lacking.

Yes, I stayed in the US for 12 years, and I have applied for Express Entry.
I now understand what you mean. Unfortunately you cannot get a US clearance certificate in Lagos as the only acceptable clearance certificate is the FBI issued one. You would have to apply to the FBI with a set of your fingerprints. I would advise that you get your fingerprints taken in a police station in Nigeria in order to ensure that you get valid fingerprints.

I got my US clearance certificate before this new 14 weeks development. The earlier you send your request to the FBI, the better.

My advice to you is to stop digging, because soon water will come out and engulf you. It must be really hard trying to defend the indefensible. This same army killed Shekau two or three times and he is still alive. They signed a ceasefire with Boko Haram once but we know the truth now.
They denied for two weeks that the Chibok kidnapping never happened. They once had rescued the Chibok girls. They run first even before the civilians they are paid to protect.
If this was a Nigeria media, your response will be that they had been paid by the opposition. If opposition talk, they are branded as the sponsors of Boko Haram, if fellow Africans talk, we told them how we fought the apartheid, when foreign media talk, they are imperialist.
It really hard trying to defend the ineptness of this government. This report and the amnesty international report yesterday was the reason Mr Excuses Jonathan rushed to Borno yesterday. But he can fool some political biased Nigerians but not everyone.

The Government: Let us not even talk about their atrocious blunders and REFUSAL to tackle Boko Haram headlong. Have you forgotten that Shettima Yusuf an alleged sponsor of Boko Haram was NEVER investigated? rather your president had dinner with him in Chad! Or when the government told us that nobody was kidnapped?
The Army: They lied and told us Boko Haram signed a ceasefire. They lied and said Shekau was killed. They also lied about the Chibok girls. Are they the people we should trust?
NTA: What a laugh!!!! grin grin grin grin Have you ever seen any NTA reporter reporting the Boko Haram atrocities? The only thing threy know how to report are political campaigns.

At the very least the Western media had the guts to send out their journalists to the frontlines to gather news about Boko haram. So YES I and a million others would rather believe CNN than anything related to our government(They still haven't told us where our missing $20 billion is)

I stay in surulere. Forget the hype, with what Lagos makes every month Fashola has done nada! The state makes money from taxing everyone for everything, including the roads! Yet we still have shanty towns springing up everywhere. See the Lagos secretariat in Ikeja, the place is a cesspit of corruption! APC corruption and nepotism. And u want another 8years of that?
Dude come on! Give credit where it is due for heavens sake! Everybody knows that Fashola performed and is probably the best EVER governor Lagos state has ever produced. I stayed in Surulere as well and are you forgetting that Fashola expanded Adeniran Ogunsanya road? What about the link bridge for Aguda to Okota? And these are just a few of the roads I am aware of cos time wouldn't permit me to list all the roads he either built or repaired. Let me not even talk about other things that he did.

Boko haram has already visited me through the horrible things they are doing to fellow Nigerians. ...You sounded emotional. Try and get the sense of the general's response.
Dude the General's response made ABSOLUTELY no sense at all, period!!!
I believe you know what it means to read between the lines. He basically accused her of LYING!!

And he is supposed to be the Army's public relations officer!

The rate at which GEJ is called upon to be ejected from office anytime boko boys strike is full of hypocrisy and very unpatriotic. It makes sane mind to believe the apc folks are deliberately wishing and encouraging boko just to smite the name and office of the presidency to score cheap political gains.

The other day in France, the world mobilized support for the president to put an end to terror like activity on their soil. Here in NIgeria the opposite is the case!

Terrorism is new to Nigeria and it takes the joint effort of all both morally, spiritually and physically to put an end to this menace.
Thinking that by rubbishing the president each time they strike would kick him out of office or incite the public against him is pure fallacy! Yes he could do better, all this country needs is total support and encouragement to our military to enable them face this critical task head on!

Keep blaming GEJ for boko and leave out other relevant bodies that are directly or indirectly tasked to end boko, like that makes you folks feel so much better!
Please name the relevant bodies!! And do you have any idea what it means to be President and Commander-in-Chief?? It means that you ARE RESPONSIBLE for the security of the nation

Truth is boko must be a thing of the past before the year runs out under GEJ.
All you saying GEJ this GEJ that, are sore loosers! Join the army and fight if you think you got what it takes and not sit at you homes typing jargons behind a system. unpatriotic bunch angry
Did you ACTUALLY say join the army and fighthuh the same Nigerian army that CANNOT properly equip the soldiers currently fighting in the North? the same army that said that Boko haram declared a ceasefire? What do you want to fight with? Stones??
For heavens sake the problem has NEVER been one of numbers but rather the lack of leadership!

No one is thinking why amnesty intl is putting up this photos now when we getting close to elections? Is this the first time boko is touching down houses in the NE? if this report is anything to go by. The U.S has stated that the increased attacks are linked to the elections and here comes amnesty intl to further heat up the polity by deliberately making people feel boko is wining the war.
Are you really this clueless?? Amnesty is reporting about thousands of Nigerians that ARE BEING KILLED NOW as we speak!! And your lame excuse is asking why they are reporting it now. When do you want them to report it? Is it when Boko haram kills off all the people in the North. Like your president you are now blaming Amnesty International for Boko haram huh huh huh Do you know how ridiculous you sound?? Your second statement is even more ridiculous. What the heck does 'heat up the polity' mean? People are being killed in their thousands in the North and you are talking about heating up the polity? Which polity?

Amnesty intl should be guided! Am sure they never shared this photos with the goverment and went ahead to release it to the public. What are they trying to achieve by this? Have they been compromised as shara reporters to rubbish the NIgerian government? I'll let you be the judge.
The only thing that should be questioned is how much you were paid to write this rubbish. So Amneesty International and Sahara reporters are in cahoots and want to rubbish Jonathan angry huh angry Before we know it you would say that the boys scouts are also in on the conspiracy!!
If i say that your parents wasted money in sending you to school it would sound like I am insulting you. However your post is completely ludicrous and an INSULT to anybody with half a brain. However I still took time out to address the fallacies you wrote since it is pretty clear that you are paid to write misinformed inanities.
