Oby Ezekwesili was once a respected figure in Nigeria but she has drastically changed and turned to a pessimist who no longer conducts herself in a sense of decorum. She is now a critic who regularly abuse her power just to score cheap personal and political points. She has turned into a mischief maker,raising false alarms just to deter the image of others. She seriously needs psychological evaluation before things turn for the worse.

Psychological evaluation?? If Boko Haram was pillaging your village and murdering people there, would you be making such asinine comments?

A woman had the guts to call the Nigerian army to order and weaklings who call themselves men are all over Nairaland raining abuse on her. People like you make me sick. Apparently you don't care what Boko Haram does in the rest of Nigeria as long as it doesn't affect you directly. Remeber the Abuja bombings AND DO NOT think for a second that you are somehow immune to Boko Haram.

Any mentally stable person obviously knows that Oby Ezekwesili did the right thing by calling the army's attention to this massacre. I do not care if she used twitter, facebook, 2go or even the post office to relay her message. For the rest of you criticizing her it is pretty obvious that the Boko haram scourge is yet to affect you directly which is why you can all be armchair critics.

Finally let us look at France's reaction to a terror attack that killed ONLY 20 people. There was an immediate, urgent and swift response from their police and armed forces and the suspects were promptly killed. Here in Nigeria THOUSANDS of people are being killed and the best thing our military force can do is to fight the war from the comfort of their Twitter handles.

MOBJECTIVE:
In part I agree with the bolded. However, 4 years? No country on this planet has carried out a complete development plan in 4 years. Not even the Asian tigers. To carry out a comprehensive development plan it takes at least 20 years, and even then the country will still have problems.

As for the rest of your comment i will not reply to. Im just glad you're not small minded enough to believe that our problems start and end with corruption. Personally I even believe that is the least of our problems.

I am not saying that all of Nigeria's problems can be solved in 4 years. What i am talking about is an APPRECIABLE level of development commensurate with our resources. Any country that budgets less than 20% of its annual budget for capital expenditure just like Nigeria CAN NEVER develop, plain and simple.

And I definitely disagree with you about corruption. Corruption is without a doubt one of Nigeria's top 3 biggest problems coming second only after mismanagement. Ask yourself how many of the top 20 world economies are in the list of the top 50 most corrupt nations and the answer is none!(Russia is the only exception). We cannot develop if we do not make a concerted effort to stamp out corruption.

Finally i also disagree with you that it would take 20 years to develop. This is the Information Technology age and the opportunities that IT affords a nation to develop are limitless. Besides let us not forget the example of Cross River. It took Donald Duke ONLY 8 years to make Cross River one of the largest tourist attractions in West Africa! That is the mark of a visionary leader. If he could do it in Cross River in less than 8 years what is stopping us a nation?

MOBJECTIVE:
I could tell you how Malaysia has a larger and more DIVERSE economy than we do, and why this is part of the reason they have much larger foreign reserves, but I will not. You should ask yourself why we have just $4 billion and if is possible to solve the problems that got us to that amount in just under five years.

The foolish, mediocre and moronic one is the one who thinks the problem is as simple as stealing.

Simple. It is because the current government is incredibly corrupt and mismanaged the funds. Don't forget that our government has not told us what they did with the excess funds that accrued to Nigeria as a result of high oil prices neither have they accounted for the missing $20 billion

YES!YES!YES!YES!YES!

You do not need 100 years to solve Nigeria's problem!!! All you need is a strong leader that would fight corruption and who is not afraid to implement a solid plan for Nigeria's development. Our power problems can be solved in less than 4 years. Even the issue of fuel scarcity and subsidy can be solved in less than 4 years. Anybody that CANNOT solve Nigeria's problems to an appreciable extent within 4 years CANNOT solve them if given an additional 4 years

I read it and as usual it made no sense. Are you not aware that crude oil reached its highest ever prices during Jonathan's regime?? So by simple logic our foreign reserves should have actually quadrupled by now!!!! The communique stated that the reserves were used for power equipment and to stabilize the Naira. For heavens sake the reserves were also used to stabilise the Naira during Obasanjo's regime BUT YET he still grew our reserves!!! As for power equipment that is a LAUGH!!! Is there any place in Nigeria that has stable power?? Just how much of the reserves was used??

As for BH.. Someone in the recent past said "Attack on boko haram is an attack on the North".. The same victims of BH were reluctant from the beginning to have a full military confrontation.. Those are the same APC northern sympathisers saying he did nothing...

He ONLY cannot account for excess funds accrued to Nigeria when crude oil was at its highest ever price
He ONLY did absolutely nothing about Boko Haram
He ONLY made excuses for all his shortcomings
He ONLY ensured that after 6 years Nigeria still has no power
He ONLY ensured that NNPC was never audited and that it remained a cesspit of corruption
