If you have a valid and candid explanation for your relatively long stay in UAE, you should have no problem. Yes, be sure to let the VO know you have a job in the UK and will be relocating there soon; you're visiting the U.S for vacation pending when you can move to the UK. Say it in a way that assures the VO you will need to return to Nigeria to make necessary arrangements for your relocation to the UK. I however wouldn't mention to VO that there's a possibility of not using the visa if it is granted.
Seconded and I'm not sure they will noticed your long stay in UAE, if you have a good reason for staying in UAE for that long please say so.

advertising for US embassy, when last do you see transcript been drop here. check Canada tread always bubbling with of visa approval
How? What do you mean by advertising? people are getting U.S Visa steady especially this summer because no one is posting here does not mean U.S embassy is not issuing visa.

I like to travel light as well...if not for my sister's luggages, i would travel with only 3 or even 2 boxes and come back to Nigeria with 8 cheesy.

I'm going with only 2 personal wigs...no attachments.

Thanks for your input.
Nice... you can actually travel with food stuffs, just make sure you declare it at POE.

More than enough, go through the 2nd and 3rd thread you will see a lot of transcript.

No weave, wigs, attachment except for personal use. Anything that looks like commercial quantity please stay clear. The contents of your box matter a lot. Personally I travel light but come back heavy.. That should be the case for a tourist. Except you don't want to shop, then you explain that if you are asked at Poe
Seconded

If you had told the VO during ur interview that u knew no one or had no one in the states it might be a problem if u show up at POE with 5 bags saying they're for someone. Secondly the contents of all 4 bags matter oh! If u feel this might hold u up at secondary inspection for hours then u might wanna rethink that move...those homeland officers aint playing these days!
They're four, I see no big deal in traveling with 5 suitcase and apart from food items I hope she she's not traveling with load of weave on, human hair and fashion accessories to sell because those items are red flag that can get someone deported.

Hello everyone...I'll be travelling to the U.S next week with my 4 kids, and we intend staying for 2 weeks. I agreed to carry some things to my sister who lives in the states, so i might end up carrying up to 5 suitcases. Would that be a problem at the POE since we would be there for just 2 weeks? Would they ask why we are carrying up to 5 bags?
I hope you will be the one packing the bag and since you're more than 4 passenger 5 suitcases is not too much.

Actually, 3 Emirates flights now leave Lagos daily. Even for flights to Houston, there is the option of a 1 hour lay over.
I'm talking about Dubai Connect Program.

Lagos do enjoy that too if the available flight is 8hrs+ (without shorter flights)
2 daily Emirates flights leave from Lagos everyday, it can only happen for flights going to California, Houston and Florida.

Hello all, please I would like to gather advise on this;

we would like to go on a family holiday in the US at Christmas time, my hubby already has his Visa which he used earlier in the year. We have our interview coming up next month. I would like to know which is better, to carry a photocopy of his Visa or carry the passport along. Thank you.
Go with his International passport containing the U.S visa.

From Lagos to Washington DC, via dubai.
I'm going with Emirates
Ohhh... you should have routed your trip through Abuja and return leg to Lagos to enjoy the 22 hours visa free and hotel stay in Dubai for little difference to the fare.

Why do that, have you got things to hide huh
Those guys generally do background checks on people entering their soil. These days, almost everyone has a digital footprint online and it goes beyond WhatsApp messages.

If you are clean, then fear not
Digital footprint is good if you have nothing to hide.

Hello guys.
I am about to book my ticket. The stop over is London heathrow, in the evening, For onward journey to the US the next Morning. But I don't have a valid UK visa. Is this going to be a problem. So I can check for other airlines.
Your swift response will be appreciated.
More than 12 hours at the airport, why not find a something convenient? if that was emirates/turkish they will provide you with free hotel and feeding.

You advise him not blast him, 80% of Nigeria immigrants have same intent and didn't come back till date. Next time tell him the visa categories he should go for, and you don't tell people what is accepted or not in public forum cos it's not yours.
I did not blast him, he's one insulting me, calling stupid and all... You can't be asking if you can get to U.S through student or visit visa, we can't continue doing this to ourselves... if you want to apply for U.S Student visa, it's a process that you're willing to take without asking people to suggest if it's the easier way to U.S, surely that means your aim is to get to U.S and not return.

Are u sure ur ok, u write jargon in the name of replying someone, I only ask you which visa will be easier for me to get as am in uae, because my intention of coming to usa is to stay back and work and find way to legalize my stay, u start writing jargon, I wonder what u gain in making people feel bad about thier self, never u quote me again because u lack common sense.
You seem not to understand what you're getting yourself into, because your intention is illegal and I'm very sure you don't have what it takes to apply for migrant visa and get it. What you intended to do is to migrate to U.S illegally which will not be accepted on this forum.
What we do on this forum is to advise any intending visitor to U.S to visit and return to Nigeria as soon as possible not overstay which in turn will make it easier to approve U.S visa for Nigerians.

Visit but which one will be easier school or visit
If at this stage you don't know your left from your right, then you're planning to misuse your visa while making it hard for genuine travelers to get U.S visa especially those working in UAE with the aim of visiting U.S.
We must do better and we should start changing the narrative, UAE is not the green pasture, it's now U.S (there's no green pasture).
I will advise you to do your research about getting U.S Visa, your friend or cousin in U.S will have no say in your visa application.

Good morning folks. Kindly advice me on this: I applied for a student visa in 2007. I had to travel to lagos to sit for SAT exams as the centres were almost non existent in abuja then. Unfortunately I was issued a fake result. Unknowingly I took it to the embassy then and I was denied based on that document. Fast forward 12years after. I have an Msc, married with 3kids and work with an international development organisation. I now seek to apply to go to the US with just my wife and last born. My wife runs a business where she sells baby cloths and beauty products. I want to ask what are our chances of been issued a visa? Do you think I was banned when I first went to the embassy 12years ago? Is it better we apply to go the UK first before applying to the US embassy? Please not that I still do not have any travel history. I will appreciate your response and admonitions.
This is my own opinion, I will advise you to forget about traveling to U.S with your family for now, you need a solid travel history (Solid history according to U.S Embassy is E.U Countries, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Scandinavian countries) you need to be trusted again and you should apply alone, no need involving your spouse, let your spouse apply alone.

Why do you wanna sleep at the embassy ? Is that your home? Lodge in a hotel in Victoria Island. So you have money to pay for visa and holiday expenses but DEAD BROKE when it comes to lodging in a hotel for one night before your interview? My fellow Nigerians , you guys never cease to amaze me.
You want people here to abuse and insult you, a lot of applicant aim is to JAPA.

That’s actually the way it is my broda. The news is 3 years ago though.... Even our Nigeria visa on arrival that is valid for only 15 days goes for about $180-200.

Reciprocity indeed! And we have several bitter people saying the Americans are “cheating” us, people that are so docile they can’t even ask their own government a single question oh!

One major thing I have come to realise is that as much as 80-90% persons with US visa refusals I have come across actually wanted to bolt with the visa. Then those with approval are mostly people that plan to go and come back (except for recent times sha), at least in my own circle. Una lie! In essence, these guys (VOs) are mostly getting their job done appropriately, yeah. Be sincere with yourselves please, the bulk of you lot busy liking some nonsense and senseless posts on here are majorly INTENDING IMMIGRANTS that got beaten to their own game, BITTER.... Simple!

I dey my area, make una come beat me na!
My brother you're right oooo...... imagine applying to visit U.S for tourism and after refusal you should have a back up plan to visit another country but na lie my own people go die there for U.S visa grin grin grin

Nigerians una too boast abeg, who gives a flying F about your travelling history? Let's remain focused on the objectives of this thread. It's only for voluntary knowledge sharing for others to learn. Visa application and eventually issuance is not a right, if one gets denied, they take it that way and try again some other time. Those that got theirs approved don't have two heads neither does it make all denied applicants dunce.

Anyway, in other news. Just saw this.

https://dailypost.ng/2017/01/29/trump-order-nigerians-may-no-longer-get-2-year-american-visa/amp/

Can our govt please act fast or else.
If Dailypost news is anything to go by, I think we're cheating the Americans... grin
We charge $180 for visa fees and $30 for processing fees but sha this is 3 yrs ago (stale news)
