Christianity EtcOpen Letter To Apostle Johnson Suleiman by seyi360(op): 11:51am On Feb 25, 2021
Apostle Suleiman; I salute your doggedness , tenacity, bravery and courage. Media razor blades attempting to slice you up were astonished to realize that your skin is too thick to be sliced through , rather you slide and skate gallantly on what sinks others . You are light years ahead of this generation. You stand head and shoulders above your frustrated critics. No barrage of opprobrium can break your spirit, your heart can only be compared to that of the Lion. Like a kingdom warrior, you speak as a kingdom palladium against any act of intimidation against the church.
From State to state, continent to continent, you keep winning souls for the kingdom with a sufficient demonstration of the kingdom's power and glory.
Scandals after scandals, you keep growing stronger. Multiple attempts to assassinate your character only puts your name on the lips of millions across the globe. Your name is like toothpaste, without you in their mouth, they will have toothache.
Would it be an exaggeration to nickname you the Lion of the Nigerian Church? I think you are also the Tiger.
A kingdom general , an iconoclast of uncommon proportion.
A philanthropist amongst philanthropists .
Attempting to pull him down is akin to closing the stable doors after the horses have bolted. No fusillade or barrage of verbal shots can stop this uncommon kingdom Armada. The salacious hearsay or scurrilous tales has never tamed your ever increasing velocity. Multitudes daily testify to your generosity towards the needy.
What more shall I say? keep up the good work, keep giving the devil heartaches and headaches as you advance the course of the kingdom. More grace my Apostle.

Ademola Akinyeye.
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Necessary For A Preacher To Ask Members Of Audience How His Message Was? by seyi360(op): 8:12am On Feb 23, 2021
Eviana:
Interestingly enough, I encountered a situation (in the past) where this happened.
The pastor wanted encouragement, but didn't realize (I guess) that doing so borders on narcissism....pride.....vanity....worldliness...ego...competition...false sense of security etc.
He wanted to know how he was doing practically each week after his sermons.

He even went so far as to wanting to practice his sermon (via me listening) earlier in the week before actual service later that week.
I think he wanted "feed-back" because I have, in times past, told a few preachers that a particular sermon really spoke to my soul--and that God had used him). I am careful to say "that God used him" even when the message cut me in half.
Cause it is none other than Holy Spirit speaking through willing and "called" vessels....
It's not about a person.....rather God speaking through the person.
However there is a thin line between encouragement, contructive and destructive criticism..which can become a temptation for the preacher.
He could become "man-dependent" instead of "God-dependent".

Anyhow, I respectfully declined the sermon "practice" offer before service that week, and told him that he needed to pray to the Holy Spirit & prayerfully study about what exactly to preach about that week.

What God may tell a prayerful, humble and sincere pastor should not affect "how" the congregation receives or receives "not" the message.
The affirmation, honestly, should come from the spouse...if anyone.
When a pastor repeatedly experience ts that from the congregation, he borders on a "performance" rather than a sacred calling. It no longer is about God, and becomes about him performing.
That's why many pastors should not be in the pulpits.
The pastoral ministry call is for very few men....
Remember how the prophets of old had to give some really tough messages to the people....God ordained messages that spoke to folks' souls....
We, as the congregation, don't help the situation when we idolize and place pastors on pedestals...flatter and pet their ego's. We ALL are human...and have battles against sin in our lives.
I am sure that when a surrendered pastor has spent time in prayer before standing before a congregation to give a divinely inspired message--understanding the sacred role of being a mouthpiece for God regardless of how the message is received--he can rest assured that God is pleased...
Couldn't have been said better, the main reason for all the validation sought after is the disconnection with the Holy Spirit.

I can understand and patiently let a young minister outgrow that phase of his pulpit ministry.
However, he is not expected to remain there. Nevertheless, there is nothing wrong in seeking an improvement in your pulpit skills.
The preferred way to get that feed back is to record the preachings and listen to it afterwards to make necessary corrections and improvements.
Perhaps, a Bible reference was made wrongly or an irrelevant illustration or story that was shared spontaneously. All of that can be honestly reviewed by the preacher towards a better presentation subsequently.
Christianity EtcIs It Necessary For A Preacher To Ask Members Of Audience How His Message Was? by seyi360(op): 1:09pm On Feb 21, 2021
For me I don't think it's necessary, it gives the preacher away as having complex issues needing validation from people. I think he should be able to pick that up from the reactions and responses from the people.

PoliticsAre Female Police Officers Excluded From Security Patrols? by seyi360(op): 12:51pm On Feb 05, 2021
Just returned from a trip within the Southwest and I noticed there were no female police officers in the squads that mounted road blocks and patrolled the highway. This never aroused my curiosity until I recollected that the military of recent deployed an all female squad to tackle kidnapping along a dangerous highway in the North.
Prior to the new development in the military, I have seen female military officers with AK 47 at various locations on security duties. But female police officers? Never, the most of them often sit at the stations, feeding fat and acting so unprofessionally . Of course, some of them occasionally go to make casual arrests in mufti and without fire arms.
Which makes me wonder if there is a standing order in the NPF restricting female police officers from security patrols and major security operations.

Christianity EtcYou Need An Angel by seyi360(op): 8:45pm On Jan 16, 2021
Without Angelic ministrations, a christian cannot maximize the benefits and blessings in Christ.

Angels are the agents responsible to ensuring that our God experience gets real as they minister to us.

Jacob saw them ascending and descending a ladder that connected the earth with heaven.

They take our prayers to God and return with the answers(Daniel's experience in Persia is a typical example)

They gather information from heaven to those it concerns on earth and vice versa.

Just like orderlies, they are assigned to watch over, accompany, guide and instruct Christians.

Have you ever seen a friend or Pastor offer some assistance to you in the dream world? You actually saw an Angel who used a familiar face in ministering to you.

They descend on rescue missions
They have superiors
Their functions differ
They dislike untidy environment
They are interested in every detail of your life

An angel shut the mouth of Lions for Daniel

They can put on human bodies when on special assignments

While in those bodies, they are capable of engaging in sexual activities . Read Gen.19:1-5

At their discretion , they may open your eyes to see them.

They often come to the earth in human bodies on special assignments.

They specialise in various professions such as Medicine, Nursing, Carpentry , Engineering, to mention a few

Zechariah 1:19-21
[19]And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
[20]And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.
[21]Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

Angelic encounters are sensational, invigorating and real.

You need an Angel.

If the APC zones the party ticket to the south? Tinubu comes tops, no other southern politician can match him grit to grit. Except of course Good luck Jonathan, whose time electorally really has passed. Then Atiku loses.

If APC zones the ticket to the North, Atiku decamps from PDP to APC and picks the ticket. None of the Northern wannabe presidents stands shoulder to shoulder with him . Or Atiku stays with PDP to fly their flag. In that scenario, he has a midget in the APC flag bearer from the North to contest with. Then Tinubu loses.

Either way, the political barometer is reading these 2 names.

Unless of course something dramatic snowballs, this will be the likely trajectory.

So, because Jesus Christ mentioned that there are mansions and streets in Heaven, it is safe to assume or add that there are also markets, cars, companies etc as well? undecided lipsrsealed

Because cities exist on earth means cities in heaven mirror cities on earth? Since when did the earth become the standard for Heaven? I guess that will be my other question to you at this point. undecided
Meditate on the scriptures below, they should broaden your horizon and expand your parochial understanding of what heaven is about.

Revelation 21:14-27
[14]And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
[15]And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
[16]And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
[17]And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
[18]And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
[19]And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
[20]The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
[21]And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
[22]And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
[23]And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
[24]And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
[25]And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
[26]And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
[27]And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Where do you get this from? undecided
The Bible says there are mansions in heaven and the streets in heaven are made of gold. If that is true and I believe you have no doubt in you that it is, I put this question to you;

Are houses and streets not suggestive of a city settings?
Are streets not meant for driving cars , chariots and walking?
Are markets and schools not part of a city setting?

Heaven is a city like Lagos, Abuja and the likes
The difference is that over there, no night, no time, no sin, no corruption, everything is perfect.

Christianity EtcShare Your Christmas Preparation Memories As A Child by seyi360(op): 5:45pm On Dec 20, 2020
Way back, 5 days to Christmas, joy adrenalin ran through my spine in anticipation for fun , merry and much more. Our Christmas day and New year day dresses were ready or almost. Dresses were a core and integral part of Christmas preparation. My mum never for a year gave excuses for not buying them, looking back in retrospect I salute her for that. Though late now, she ensured her kids were the best dressed amongst other kids in church. As it was a competitive season for kids, I and my siblings were always on top of chat.

Food and lots of food , drinks , meat etc full ground gidigba. We hosted friends and church members. There was this joy we couldn't explain in us. We watched movies about Jesus of Nazareth, played Bola Aare's " odun nlo sopin o baba rere" Jimmy Cliff's music, Bob Marley and the wailers.
The turn table was the state of the art sound system back then.
I remember going to bar beach with my parents, rode a horse, back then no bandits, no kidnapping, Nigeria was better.

Hence, I submit that no season brought me joy as a child like Christmas did.
Share your experience.

Merry Christmas in advance.

Do you desire to know the outcome of events before they happen?

Do you wish to know what is contained in the womb of time and eternity for you ?

Do you wish to operate in an unusual intelligence which gives you an advantage ?

Do you crave a productive mind that breeds solutions to the gridlocks in your life?

Do you desire peace of mind and equanimity right in the midst of a boisterous and rambunctious situation?

Do you wish to minimize your errors?

Do you wish to always have answers to the challenging and intimidating questions of life?

Do you desire access to a knowledge database which is beyond your current intellectual stratosphere?

If your answer is yes, let me show you who can make it happen for you.

There is a being whose presence can augment your cerebral capacity.

His light can illuminate your boring and humdrum mind and translate your parochial dreams to an unrestricted vision runway

His touch can take you beyond the horizon of limited understanding to the dimension of the ingenious.

His words gives an assurance which transcends the cacophony of permutations and transports to the ivory towers of certainty.

His breathe unlocks the soul gates that sin has shut.

His direction diffuses confusion, stems the tide and powers a given velocity.

Like the needle of an old gramophone, he will not speak of his own, but echo what he hears from the Father.

His support is an undisputed bulwark and palladium against tyranny

His fingers perforates strongholds

He has the Midas touch to resuscitate a moribund destiny

This being can do all of the above for you and much more from his repertoire.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you , the third personality of the Trinity ;

THE HOLYSPIRIT.

John 16:13

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

CultureBetween Fashion And Madness by seyi360(op): 9:29am On Nov 25, 2020
Between fashion and madness

Did you think that nudity and beauty are synonymous?
Then you thought wrong
Private parts are not meant for public viewing pleasure
Ladies who show too much are simply classless.

Simplicity, elegance and style is synonymous with royalty. When you throw decency in dressing to the wind, you drag your reputation in the mud, for those who have any.

To appear sexually provocative is tantamount to been slutty.
To put on cleavage or navel revealing clothes is to be clothed with dishonor.
Outright exposure of your mammary glands is extremely irritating.
To dress in a very short skirt and spend the whole day pulling it down is to attract negative viewing and tongue lashing traffic.
A whorish outfit cannot make up for your lack of class

Between fashion and madness is a thin line. Don't cross from the former to the latter
The way you are perceived is the way you will be received.

Dress responsibly.

Christianity EtcRe: Is There Such Thing As "Holy Ghost Fire"? by seyi360(op): 12:25pm On Oct 27, 2020
Let me attempt to exegete Acts 1:8

"But ye shall receive power after that the Holy ghost is come upon you"

The word "power" is from the Greek word " dunamis" translated as "explosive power"

From which we have the 2 English words
1 Dynamite - explosive and destructive power
2 Dynamo - constructive power

Let's espouse on the dynamite dimension of the word "dunamis". We all know that there can be no explosion without fire. In fact, all explosions lead to fire. Whether it's banger, gas or grenade explosion, the result is fire. Hence, explosion and fire are inseparable.
Thus, if the power in Acts 1:8 is an explosive power in the original Greek text, does that not suggest to us that the power promised is the type of power which is laced with fire.

In fact , when a bomb is activated. After the bang, what you see is fire. The fire continues to burn long after the explosion sound disappears.

On this premise, if there is such thing as Holy ghost power, it stands to reason that Holy ghost fire also exists.
The fire is in the power
The Greek word "dunamis" lends credence to this.

That was a brief etymology of the "Power" mentioned in Acts 1:8

No one knows it all, we are all learning.
