RomanceMy Church Members Ruined My Relationship by shadrach77(op): 10:05am On May 06, 2010
Dear Agatha,

I want to commend you for the wonderful job you are doing. I hope you appreciate that you are blessed with a special anointing to help the youths and to heal marriages. Use it wisely and God will never leave you alone. Forget whatever problems you have as a person and give in to His directives. Yours He will solve effortlessly.

I am a single and young pastor in charge of a church in Lagos. I took over the rein when the former pastor resigned to form his church. Despite being single the mother church felt I had what it takes to pastor the branch.

Six months after coming to the branch, I have discovered that a lot of things are very wrong with women generally, and that they are the reasons some pastors backslide.

Immediately it came to the notice of the church that I was unmarried, both young and old women, married and unmarried flocked my office with one problem or the other. The young ladies would come in very transparent clothes and very short skirts. The older ones would come to introduce their nieces or daughters to me.

I have done everything possible to dissuade them, explaining that I have a girlfriend who is in another branch of the church.

When the pressure became too much for me to handle, I appealed to my girlfriend to cross over to our branch. I thought her presence in the church will stop all the unnecessary attentions and pressures I was getting from the women, but to my disappointments, it has only increased the pressure on me as all the women in the church ganged up against my girlfriend.

Honestly, I didn’t know this at first. When my girlfriend started complaining about the problem she was having with them, I dismissed her, accusing her of being too distant and too snobbish for my congregation.

I really got mad with her when the women started coming with one complaint or the other against her. I got scared when two members of our prayer warriors team came with messages concerning her. They came differently to tell me that she has a familiar spirit and that if I married her she would infect my ministry with bad luck. Since I was already having problems with her, I told her to go.

Agatha, I didn’t pray. Not even when she urged me to pray on the day I told her to go. I was really violent that day. For the first time in my adult life, I brutalised a woman. Till date, I still cannot explain what got into me that day.

It is now four months. God has since exposed all that went wrong. I am too ashamed because despite being a pastor, one who is gifted I didn’t see beyond my nose. I don’t know how to handle the situation at all. And now that I have discovered the truth, I don’t know how to go and face her. Agatha, please publish this letter, beg her for me because she reads and respects you a lot. I want her back in my life.

Wale.

FamilyTwo Men Drown In Well While Recovering N1000 Note by shadrach77(op): 3:11pm On May 04, 2010
KADUNA—THERE was confusion in the Kadara area of Sabon Tasha, Kaduna State, weekend, following the death of two young men inside a well.

Sources said the two young men dived into a well, rijia, in the area to recover a missing N1000 bill but did not come out alive.

An Igbo woman was said to be fetching water from the well in the neighbourhood, where her shop is located, when the N1000 note fell into the well. She reportedly asked anybody who could recover the money to do so on the condition that the recovered money would be shared equally.

A source told Vanguard: “A newly married man who was simply identified as Bosofa from the Jabba tribe in the state was resting in front of his house after watching the Chelsea versus Liverpool match on television at about 6.00 p.m on Sunday when some friends called him to try his luck in recovering the missing money to enable him collect N500.

“Bosofa who lived at 7, Kadara Street, reportedly ran to the adjacent street where the money fell into the well and took a fatal dive into the well.”

It was learnt that when Bosofa failed to come out, another youth also dived into the well to rescue him as well as recover the missing N1000 but also got stuck inside.

However, when the two men failed to come out of the well, the husband of the Igbo woman who had earlier advised his wife to forget the missing money raised alarm that attracted neighbours who removed the victims to a nearby hospital where they were confirmed dead.

Landlord sacks couple

The landlord was later invited following the ensuing confusion but he reportedly threw out the couple’s property, claiming that the couple had used the victims for money making rituals.

He was joined by angry youths who tried unsuccessfully to lynch the Igbo couple.

Vanguard gathered that the couple sneaked out to the police station where they took refuge, just as other Igbo neighbours in the area were reported to have gone into hiding following fears of mob attack.

At about 9.00 a.m., yesterday, when Vanguard visited the scene of the incident, policemen in two Operation Yaki vehicles were stationed in the area as some youths milled around smoking substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

One of the police vehicles had registration number AG 108 KJR while the other simply had fleet number 1001 written on both sides.

The policemen, led by an Inspector, were seen picking some items, including photographs from the heap of the property of the Igbo couple including wedding photographs, refrigerators, cupboards, pots and other household items that were seen scattered in front of both their shop and house.

The police at Sabon Tasha declined comments on the matter but Bosofa’s pregnant wife was said to have gone into “forced” labour while the Igbo couple have been detained by the police at the time of filing this report.
PoliticsObj Needs Deliverance - Can by shadrach77(op): 2:32pm On May 04, 2010
The Christian Association of Nigeria on Monday condemned former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his recent comments that even Jesus Christ would not be able to conduct undisputed and credible elections in Nigeria.

CAN, in its reaction to the statement, said that it was unfortunate that a person of the former president’s standing, who had benefited immensely from the wonders of God, would blaspheme the Lord Jesus Christ.

Secretary of the Kaduna State Chapter of CAN, Rev. Joseph Hayab who addressed journalists on behalf of CAN, in Kaduna, said, “This is totally a blasphemous of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, by a person whom God had on several occasions delivered from the valley of the shadow of death, like he (Obasanjo) stated in his inauguration speech on May 29th, 1999.

“Obasanjo must know that Jesus Christ has the power to save and deliver people from sin and condemnation, and he is still saving many in Nigeria today. It is the prayers of those who have been saved by Jesus Christ that is keeping Nigeria moving from the clutches of bad leaders like him. How much more can he not conduct a mere election?

“Where did he keep the Biblical injunctions where Christians were taught to act justly, to love mercy and work humbly with their God? We are not surprised, because this goes to show us the genuineness of his ‘born again,’ status which he is claiming.

“We are deeply surprised at this highest degree of mockery of the efficacy of our faith by a man of his standing, who on many occasions professed the power of God. By this, we advise that his resident pastor needs to counsel, pray and put him in a deliverance class, because it is an outright deviation from religion and the sacredness of Jesus Christ, the son of God.

“He did the same when he out of pride and power intoxication, threw abuses at CAN leadership in Jos, Plateau State. Now that he is out of power, it is Jesus Christ. So you can see how deep he has derailed, and is in dire need of deliverance, before the consequences of his actions and comments bring a curse to our dear nation,” he said.

Comments :

will not even agree with jesus Christ on the issue of election. This is the gospel truth that I have heard many people in different fora expressed. What is blasphemous about that. The CAN has to be very careful and organised themeselves well, communication to the outside world is very important and we should not play to the gallery like typical politician. To drive home the point Obj made which was 100% accurate, the only election we bandies around as being fair was annuled because of selfish interest

If God be God in heaven where he controls the affairs of men here on earth, Obasanjo will not live to see the coming general election nor the swearing in of the would be new president, He had blasphemed the Lord that delivered him from the shadow of death on many occassions, the same thing that happen to Herod in the book of Acts of the Apostle will soon befall him. let him that have ears hear what the spirit is telling the Church.

PoliticsNorthern Group Plots Yar'adua's Resignation by shadrach77(op): 2:18pm On May 04, 2010
Arewa backs Yar’Adua’s resignation •Raises team, Turai unhappy with group’s decision
| Print | E-mail
Written by Taiwo Adisa

LEADERS of the North’s influential group, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), have now agreed to the need to facilitate the resignation of ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua, sources said on Monday.

Sources close to the northern group said that the leaders had been concerned about the complete incapacitation of President Yar’Adua and had been seeking the way forward for sometime now.

Some members of the political committee of the ACF were said to have been mandated to seek a “soft landing” for the ailing president more than a month ago.

It was gathered that members of the committee had turned in their report and that the report favoured a gradual disengagement of the ailing president from power.

It was gathered that the committee decided that the ailing president should not be disgraced from power and that since he would not wish to be sick, he should only be eased out quietly.

A team was mandated by elders of the ACF to meet with Hajia Turai Yar’Adua to further fine-tune the agenda.

It was further learnt that the group would reach out to other segments of the society to stabilise the situation and ensure the actualisation of the agenda.
It was gathered that the committee had informally passed the message to Hajia Turai through some close associates of the ailing leader.

The message, according to sources, is to the effect that the first lady would facilitate the resignation of the ailing president once he was in a position to comprehend his situation.

Though the message did not go down well with Turai, it was gathered that the North had to reach out to her as a first step.

“There are steps to be taken but the first is to broach the idea with her. If she continues to stall the way forward, we will move on to another plan because the unfolding situation affects the entire North as a bloc,” a source said on Monday.

It was gathered that the ACF had reached an understanding with Acting President Goodluck Jonathan on the need to move cautiously on the Yar’Adua matter.

So far, the Executive Council of the Federation (EXCOF) has refrained from discussing Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution to declare Yar’Adua incapacitated.

Besides the talk between the North and Jonathan, it was also gathered that the acting president had also confessed sympathy for his boss to his close associates and insisted that he would not engineer anything that would disgrace the man out of power.

It was learnt that such a disposition had, so far, informed the decision to put Yar’Adua’s matter on the back burner.

Sources said, however, that the North believed that it was losing much by allowing Jonathan to emerge as the sole administrator of Nigeria and that it was necessary to find an immediate way out.

A source said that further talks would be held this week on the next step to take if the soft landing solution was not easily agreeable to Hajia Turai.
Christianity EtcRe: A Born Again Christian Is Not A Sinner (even If He Sins) by shadrach77: 12:30pm On May 04, 2010
[size=14pt]Pastor Chris is 100% right. Now lets do some analysis. - "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

The key word here is were (past tense) This means were no longer sinners. Verse 9 says since we have now been justified through his blood - The word his here represents Jesus Christ - This means in the eyes of God, we are no longer sinners. Now the New Living Translation makes it clearer when it says in verse 9 (Romans 5:9) And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.

The key statement here is 'we have been made right'

AHEAD of 2011 general elections, the Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu on Saturday threw his weight behind General Ibrahim Babangida’s presidential ambition, saying the former military president should be given a second chance to rule the country.

Chief Ojukwu said he was convinced that General Babanginda had the required qualities that could take the country to greater heights, adding that the former military ruler remains a strong voice politically in the country.

The Ikemba who stated this when he received a delegation of Campaign Network for IBB (CNI) led by Chief Peter Dada Osadebay in his residence in Enugu, said Babangida remains his bosom friend.

It was gathered that Chief Ojukwu had cut short his stay at Nnewi where he is mourning his late second wife to receive the pro-IBB group in Enugu. He headed back immediately to his country home after saying farewell to his visitors.

TM Aluko

THE author of popular satirical novels like One Man One Machete and One Man One Wife died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 91.

Although the Ilesa, Osun State-born Aluko studied Civil Engineering and Town Planning at the University of London, his books enjoy wide acclaim and are among the most widely studied in Nigerian schools.

In 1963, he bagged the Officer Order of the British Empire award and the Order of the Niger the following year.

The 50th anniversary of his writing was celebrated last year when he also surprised the literary community as he published another novel, Our Born Again President.

In a tribute, celebrated columnist, Dr. Reuben Abati, said, ”T. M. Aluko‘s novels present a certain thematic consistency in terms of the author‘s pre-occupation with issues of conflict between tradition and modernity, identity, religion and the individual in society, corruption and value systems.

”His societies are transitional societies but his bias is on the side of change and modernity, although ironically even when his females appear strong and influential, they are nevertheless victims of unreconstructed traditional chauvinism.”

Aluko studied at the Government College, Ibadan; Higher College, Yaba, in Lagos before his academic sojourn to London.

He held a number of administrative posts, including the Director of Public Works in Western Nigeria.

He left the civil service in 1966 and until his retirement in 1978, he pursued a career as an academic, earning a doctorate in municipal engineering in 1976.

Come May 22, the dream will end for most ladies who desire the handsome actor, Mike Ezunronye as hubby as he will be having his traditional marriage on that day. The lucky lady is a medical psychologist called Nkechi.

Ezunronye who had promised us last year that he would get married soon made good his promise as he will be performing the traditional wedding rites with his woman who recently relocated from Canada to Nigeria (Owerri, Imo State). The dates for the white wedding and other festivities that will follow will be announced later.

The actor who spoke with Showbiznow on phone concerning the wedding said he does not want much noise on the wedding because he’s a quiet person. We hope Mike hasn’t forgotten the age-long saying that a golden fish has no hiding place.

Born Michael Ezuruonye in Lagos in the 70s, Mike attended Archbishop Aggey Memorial Secondary School before proceeding to Nnamdi Azikiwe University to obtain a degree in Accounting.

Right from primary school, Michael showed a keen interest in television. He worked behind the camera writing scripts on Clapper Board Television as he matured.

He was buying fuel at a gas station when he was spotted by Ruke Amata of the Amata Dynasty and this happy coincidence set him on track to pursue his cherished dream of becoming an actor.
Nicknamed Fair Mike, the handsome actor quickly proved his talent and capabilities to convince some of the most influential decision makers in Nollywood, namely Director Aquilla Njamah and Producer Emem Isong to give him a chance.

My uncle raped me when I was 14
Dear Readers,

She read the story published on this page two weeks ago about the two-year-old girl that was sexually harassed by her uncle.

She was also a victim of sexual harassment; she was raped by her uncle at the age of 14.

She decided to share her story, so that others can learn.

Dear Taiwo,

I am a regular reader of your columns. My prayer is that the Lord will continue to strengthen you so that you will expose evil doers in our society.

I read with disgust the story published on this page about two weeks ago. I felt very sorry for that woman, Tolulope. I kept the copy of that story and everytime I went back to read it, I became convinced that I must write my story and that of my friend too – with her consent though.

Tolulope’s story and ours, I am convinced, should teach our parents a lesson, especially mothers. I am sure it would awaken them to the fact that nobody should be trusted, or better put, no man, whosoever he is, should be trusted with your daughter. Mothers should stand up and protect their daughters. Anu, Tolulope’s daughter, is still a baby, so there is every possibility that she might grow up and not remember this incident. Thank God, her mother did not say that the incident left any permanent damage on her. But what about people like us, who would carry this secret pain in our hearts for ever.

You are the second person I am sharing this story with and that is why I prefer to remain anonymous.

I was 14 years old when my uncle deflowered me, right in my father's house, under my parents' nose. But because they (my parents) trusted him and it would be my word against his, I could not tell anyone; and, of course, he warned me that if I told anyone, he would deny it and deal with me.

I am a final year student in one of the federal universities. This incident happened when I was in Senior Secondary School two (SS2). I wasn’t really too mature for my age; I was on the small side; but I had developed a woman’s body.

My parternal uncle, my grandmother’s last born, then a youth corps member, was posted to serve his fatherland where we were staying then, of course, it was natural for him to stay with us.

He was a good uncle and very friendly with us. I am the last of my parents' three children. My elder ones (both boys) were away in school leaving our housemaid and me in the house.

Initially, my uncle was nice and he was just a normal uncle everyone would wish for.

After about a month or so that he came to stay with us, he started behaving funny towards me. He would touch my bum, and sometimes he would pretend it was a mistake, then, he would touch my breasts. Then, I really didn’t know how to place his behaviour. In my mind, I would wonder if it was a mistake or he was doing it deliberately.

Because I couldn’t really say I was scared to discuss it with anybody, not even with our housemaid then because we were a little close. I made up my mind to avoid him.

I guess I overdid it because everybody noticed this. My parents mistook my attitude for pranks and they would scold me whenever he reported me.

On a day, I told my mother that I didn’t like how my uncle used to touch me. I didn’t know what really got into her, but she scolded me not to say such a thing again. She reminded me that the person I spoke about was my daddy’s younger brother. I had no choice, my situation then was between the devil and the deep blue sea.

My parents had to travel to daddy’s home town for a burial. We were all supposed to go together, but since my uncle said he had something to do, my parents decided that our housemaid and I should stay back at home. I pleaded with them to take me, but I was not lucky. In fact, daddy would have conceded but my mum refused.

It happened the next day. I was sleeping in my room, in the evening which I shared with our housemaid, but it was later that I learnt that my uncle had sent her on an errand that kept her away and gave him enough time to perpetrate his evil deed.

I felt a hand on my body. I opened my eyes and saw my uncle trying to force my jeans trousers off. I tried to scream, but he covered my mouth with his palm.

In short, my uncle raped me and deflowered me at 14. He asked me to clean up, when he was done with me. He took my pant and burnt it in my presence. He threatened to kill me if I ever told anyone.

He tried to rape me again several times after that first experience, but I always carried my elder brother's Boys' Scout pen knife about and I vowed that I would kill him if he ever got near me again.

I wasn’t too sure if it was my threat or the fact that he was having sex with our 16-year-old house maid that kept him away from me, because he had to leave our house when mummy discovered that our housemaid was pregnant, and she said my uncle was responsible for her pregnancy.

It was then that my mother raised her voice that I had reported him to her before. She stupidly thanked God that my uncle did not touch me.

How wrong? I did not correct her because it was rather too late.

How I wished she had listened to me then! I would have been saved from this private pains. How I wish, mothers, especially, should learn to listen to their children and not shout them down anytime they try to speak with them.

I thought I was the only one in the world, who suffered this type of fate, but I was wrong. We had just resumed into the university, guess you know all these jambites stuff.

My friend and I became close because we were the first ones to get into our room. Incidentally, we were admitted to study the same course, so from the very first day we became friends

Her parents were abroad, and her maternal uncle was her guardian. Every weekend he would come around to see her.

Sometimes he would take us out. I became apprehensive, because I noticed he was too close to her for comfort, but I could not warn her. Moreso, I didn’t trust her enough to share my secret with her. And I also thought that, though naive after all, he was her maternal uncle not paternal, so he shouldn’t have such a thought on his mind.

One weekend, she went to stay at her uncle’s place I was supposed to have gone with her, but my eldest brother, who just came back from the US promised to see me that weekend. So, I stayed back in school.

Surprisingly, my friend came back on Saturday morning as against her planned Sunday evening.

I noticed that she had cried and her uncle was hovering around her like a “father hen”. I couldn’t wait for him to leave before asking what happened. Instead of saying something, she started crying again.

I asked if someone died and she said no. Our other roommates were around, so I couldn’t really press her. When they all left the room, I moved closer; she was sleeping in my bed. I asked her if she was all right, instead of talking, she began to cry again. I pleaded with her to tell me what happened, she then dropped a bomb- shell. “My uncle raped me”, at 18.

He deflowered her. Can you imagine that? A child entrusted to his care? My friend said she was going to kill herself. At this juncture, I told her what happened to me four years earlier.

She was stunned. She stopped crying and said she now understood why I never joined them whenever they discussed the issue of virginity in our room. This issue created a deep bond between us. Since then, we have been inseparable. We are like sisters. I have had cause to follow her on holidays to meet her parents in the UK. She is an only child and her parents took me as theirs and vice-versa.
RomanceI helped him but he turned out to be an ingrate by shadrach77(op): 11:14pm On Apr 29, 2010
Dear Agatha,

I live in England and have this Igbo friend who shares my apartment. My husband resides in the United States and asked I get someone to stay in the house with me, so I won’t be bored since life here can be very lonely.

This guy has been in my apartment for six months and we have never had a problem for once.

However, one day my 15 months old baby came to him crying, desiring he carried her, rather than pick up the crying baby he ignored her. After some minutes, he turned to address the baby; accusing the baby of snoring like her father. I was taken aback by this comments and instantly registered my displeasure with his comments to my daughter whom I pointed out knows nothing. He said it was a joke. I told him never to make such jokes again.

Agatha, if I expected him to stop after my protests I was wrong. As a matter of fact, that began another pattern in our relationship. Anytime my baby cried, it is either he calls her an embarrassment, ugly like the father or something in line with that. For months I tried to pretend I didn’t notice the things he was saying just to have peace in the house. However on Palm Sunday, I came back from church tired and with the baby in need for another feed. As I was about to feed her, this guy came into the house and my baby ran to him only for him to say to the baby that she cries too much, as is as ugly as the father. I snapped with all the bottled up emotions in me; I made him realize that my husband was better than him any day. He replied me too that he was finer than my husband and that he wasn’t even talking to me, but my baby.

His response and attitude was more than I could tolerate so we went into hot exchange of words. It got so bad; he threatened to slap me. I was too angry to care, so I dared him to.

After everything, I decided to apologise being the holy week. I wanted to celebrate Easter with an open mind. When I tendered my apologies to him, he said he was only joking. I told him I didn’t like that kind of joke. He went to say that rather than apologise to my daughter and I, he would rather move out of the house.

Agatha, I have always treated this guy like my own brother, feeding him with my money, using my husband’s name to get him a job since he doesn’t have official papers. I feel bad about his behaviour. When I told my husband what happened, he pleaded with me to forgive him but I don’t ever want to talk to him again. He would be moving out at the end of this month.
He now tells people that I am too hard, that he has stayed with women before but my own is different that I don’t just give chances at all. So tell me if I should answer him or ignore him? And where I went wrong?

Taylor.

Ezeoni said that IBB was the divine choice even though he is hated by some people.

“The next president is an ex-military head of state. People hate him but Yaweh loves him for reasons beyond human understanding. Just like it was with David. People hated and were jealous of David and loved Saul. But Yaweh chose David. So, it is in the case of this ex-head of state,” he said.

The cleric said it was divinely revealed to him that IBB should pick the governor of Imo State, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, as his running mate.

He also predicted that Nigeria will be the next world power, if the nation does the will of Yaweh.

i remember back in those days, lets say in the 80s, to get a lady to even open her mouth to greet you will be an achievement and woe betide you if you attempt to 'toast' her. men spent weeks if not months trying to invite a lady out and the lady will continue to act as if she's even doing you a favour by giving you audience - these days, one week is even too long to woo a lady - you speak to a lady today and the next minutde you are lying in bed with her - is this a sign of the times - abi na my imagination? huh huh

PoliticsMinister Of Finance Aganga Becomes New World Bank Chairman by shadrach77(op): 3:57pm On Apr 26, 2010
By Daniel Idonor

ABUJA—MINISTER of Finance, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, in Washington D.C. has emerged as the new Chairman of the Board of World Bank and International Monetary Fund, BWIs, after a keenly contested election.

This was just as the World Bank indicated interest to carry out a comprehensive audit of the power sector in the country with a view to finding lasting solution to the power crisis.

The move was a follow-up to the recent parley between Acting President Goodluck Jonathan and top management of the world financial body during his last visit to the United States, US.

Aganga told journalists at the meeting in Washington DC that the new appointment had further demonstrated the important role Nigeria plays in the global economic front.

He said: “As you are aware, Nigeria was elected as the chairman, board of the BWIs for the 2010 during the 2009 annual meeting held in Istanbul, Turkey. I am delighted to inform you that I have since assumed the responsibility of that office.”

The minister said the appointment was “a unique opportunity to serve” noting that such opportunities come once in every 20 to 30 years.

Describing the new role as a huge challenge, Aganga said he will not disappoint Nigeria and the international community that offered him the role under the current global economic recovery stage.

World Bank experts visit Nigeria for power audit

Meantime, a team of World Bank experts would be visiting Nigeria on May 10, 2010 for the exercise that would proffer solution to the power crisis in the country.

Addressing journalists at the World Bank/International Monetary Fund, IMF, 2010 Spring Meeting, in Washington DC, Aganga, who was joined by the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, said because the issue of power had become central to the nation’s economy, the Federal Government was determined to engage power experts in all the fronts to tackle the problem.

Aganga noted: “The meeting was very fruitful, as the bank stands ready to assist the country. The meeting resolved to have a comprehensive audit of the power sector. A World Bank mission to this effect is envisaged for May 10, 2010.”

He told reporters that the Federal Government power committee had done its audit of the power sector, noting that what the World Bank promised to do with Nigeria was to share their own understanding of the power problem.

“They also have information to share with us and that is what the May 10, 2010 meeting is going to focus on,” the minister said.

Asked what the federal government intended to do to meet the power needs of the over 140 million Nigerians, Aganga said the acting president had assured investors and power experts of creating an enabling environment, that is giving the legal framework, in the sector as well as aligning and identifying investors that will key into the energy sector infrastructure development.

He noted that since financing was not the problem militating against the improvement of the power sector in the country, the government would, this time around concentrate on execution and having a plan that “we will adhere to” as well as ensuring that there was continuity in the entire power arrangement.

Other areas the minister said the World Bank had shown interests to assist the country include ensuring a systematic engagement and consultations on issues relating to agricultural sector.

He said the bank was also supporting ongoing reforms in the banking sector and the proposed Asset Management Company; strengthening the supervisory and regulatory framework for the financial sector and support for the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, SMEs, in the country.

The minister said the meeting with Oby Ezekwesili, World Bank Vice President, Africa region also provided the opportunity to follow up on wide range of issues discussed with the World Bank Group during the visit of Jonathan mid April.

Multiple award winning producer and singer, Paul Babatunde Dairo, popularly known as Paul Play, has described the illness that almost took his life last year in South Africa as a spiritual attack, saying that it took the intervention of a Pastor, Ireti Ajanaku for him to be totally healed.

Paul Play, who was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of a South African hospital after going through a surgery, said his ordeal in the hospital was beyond human reasoning.

Hear him: “My ordeal in the hospital in South Africa was beyond human reasoning. I received calls from many men of God who prayed for me while I was at the intensive care unit. Among them were Pastor Glen Botu [Potters House], Prophet Oladipo Jinadu, Pastor Iyanda, Pastor Oyedele, Prophet Imisi and many others. God delivered me through the jaws of death. After the surgery, I witnessed many inexplicable revelations. But God lifted me up.”

Paul stated further that few weeks after his return from South Africa, he started having some funny dreams after which his health situation took another turn for the worse.

“I was in a restaurant in Ikoyi when the health crisis struck again. I felt like passing out. I was rushed to one hospital close to the area and after series of tests, the doctor said I was fine. I called my doctor in SA and he said I needed not to worry because my kidney was okay. But I knew something was not right because I was feeling unusual pains in the left part of my stomach.

“All this while, I was having horrible nightmares which are almost real… I didn’t tell my wife about the crisis because I knew she would panic and make the situation worse, so I kept praying to God because I knew I was not totally healed,” he said.

P.M. NEWS gathered that during this period, the musician had checked into the hospital three times and had come out with a clean bill of health.

But according to him, “one morning, I started feeling like I was going to die and my blood pressure had gone up. At that moment, I got a call from a journalist friend who told me that one Pastor Ajanaku said he has to see me… I didn’t know this man of God so I was a bit reluctant to go and see him. But the condition got worse and I quickly made all arrangements to see him.

“I was feeble and weak the day I saw him. He brought out anointing oil and anointed my mouth and head three times, and prayed for about 10 seconds. I wasn’t impressed because I was expecting a lot of speaking in tongues and aggressive prayers. I went home disappointed. Meanwhile, before I left, he told me to anoint my mouth again before midnight, which I did reluctantly.

“I slept and at about 3a.m, I felt my body being flushed from head to toe. I was so scared that I couldn’t open my eyes because I’ve never experienced such before. I woke up the following morning feeling as if I never had a surgery.”
