Donald Yusuf: @shady26. Responding to you in the same tone would be an act of immaturity on my part. You said the writeup is "beautiful nonsense". You are entitled to your opinion. It's obvious you read the post with the intention of criticizing it...i never said all graduates are unintelligent; i said there is a difference between being naturally intelligent and cramming to pass exams. If you think you are intelligent, then good for you.

Yes! I develop business plans; if you think that's not work, i will give you an assignment to carryout a feasibility study for a new business or product and prepare a report/business plan anytime you are ready.

Also, it is very true that i am a believer in "THINK AND GROW RICH". I don't believe in 'get rich quick' like you assumed. I am a strong believer in entrepreneurship and i know that is the way forward for Nigeria.
bros one of the very minute things I do regularly as part of my job is to analyze
products and benchmark them against other products before recommending it to. Or carry out feasibilty studies on a system say ONGUARD PKI against TDSI ACS and defend one before client upon which is based my design against the other(s).also FYI writing reports for every engineer is a compulsory habit, your business assignment or whatever will probably take me 4hrs topmost to come up with an idea(matter of fact I have many in my system I hv written long time ago. But the my question to you is,after developing business ideas, proposals or plans for people, why don't you implement some of them yourself and thereby create jobs while providing tangible example for your pupils(Nigerian Grads)?

Beautiful rubbish your piece is. I never accept half truths as truth likewise flawed information as understanding. I will like to correct some of the widely held notions held by ignorant peeps.
1.Mechanical engineering graduates should repair cars and EE engineering graduates in Nigeria are no Good hence the ineptitude in PHCN.
Ans- give your car to certified mechanics/technicians to repair cos you neither have the equipments nor can you afford standard servicing by an automobile engineer, however if you can, take your car to coscharis, mandillas etc they have the Nigerian engineers you are looking for.
2.Nigerian EE graduates are not good hence the problem of PHCN and our reliance on electricians -The problem of PHCN is more of a government policy thing and corruption mixesd together and never technological know how. Also quite expecting an EE graduate to come wire your house to prove he is knowledgeable, you'll do better employing the services of an electrician
considering how you like cheap services. However if you can PAY,I'll give you in 24hrs a CAD drafted design of all electrical installation, security systems and lighting for your building or neighborhood complying with NEC standards and other relevant codes and all based on my conceptual design. Past this stage I'll pick up certified electricians that can interpret drawings
to implement probably with his own hand picked laborers while I supervise and commission. Any 2 year serious student from any high institution can do this,EE is far far more vast than what you know. Most of these industries telecom, oil&gas,IT,systems integration, manufacturing and power employ the services of locally trained EE and Mechanical engineers alike so no need to have all them repairing your car and wiring your house(what insult for NSE&COREN).
3.sound graduates are not necessarily intelligent, they just cram and pass-bros I don't know about other fields but I did not cram and pass my undergrad exams, rather to pass you had to understand the underlying principles and theorems very well and apply them to solve technical exam problems those days and then depending on how you perform you could either score a good grade or a bad one.so after 5 years of solving problems by applying complex mathematical theorems(which you must grasp from first principles to use)you are telling me I am not intelligent, are you high?my current job role which involves designing, implementing and commissioning M&E projects across the country and beyond I find not 1/10 as tasking as my undergrad course work.
All these think and grow rich people shaaa...I no blame you, running a cybercafe and writing business PROPOSALS FOR OTHER PEOPLE and you think you are so smart and intelligent...MITCHEEEEW!

The real insults are there but u pretend not to see them.

Desinuola: As long as there is tribalism in Nigeria, there would be TRIBALISM on Nairaland!

You can't force people to have a nationalistic outlook when they don't even believe in the entity called Nigeria!

I am first and foremost a Yoruba woman and i'm only identified as Nigerian only by way of my passport. I feel more love for my people than I do for other ethnic groups and have a close affinity to them.

If you are going to impose this draconian rule, then by all means, define what you term as "tribalism" and set out the rules clearly as you cannot ban anyone purely on their ethnic outlook. You have to set out what you deem offensive and would not tolerate.

Moreso, you cannot act as an individual; your other moderators and Seun, the owner of the site would have to co-sign your rules for it to have authority or legitimacy.

As it stands now, the no-more tribalism stance is yours and yours alone without any stamp of approval. Once you get it approved you must then set out the terms and conditions and be specific on what and what would not be allowed.

You are not Abacha or jonathan o. Don't think you can swan in here and dictate to us o. Who you be? Who be you?

Shio! Kelebe!! TWE!!!

PoliticsRe: Arewa Youths Reject FG’s N5.8bn Compensation For Post-election Violence by shady26(m): 3:13am On Apr 27, 2013
Euroclydon: Northern youths, yesterday, spurned the Federal Government’s offer of N5.8 billion compensation to the families of the victims of the 2011 post-election violence that rocked most parts of the North and a few southern states.

The youths, who denounced the offer through the National President of the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, noted that the offer was a Greek gift from the Presidency to the affected states so as to win their support for President Jonathan’s re-election in 2015.

Yerima, who queried the sincerity of the government in the offer, wondered why it had taken President Jonathan more than two years to remember the families of the victims while the issues that gave rise to the violence were yet to be addressed.

The youth leader noted, “to us, we see this as medicine after death and a desperate attempt to woo the North once again to support Jonathan’s re-election in 2015. ”
So now they are receiving monetary compensation for murdering corpers IKE UKONU and CO

But, we are not fools and can no longer be taken for granted by those who think that they can always deceive us and get away with it.

“Why has the government suddenly remembered that so many families lost their loved ones and property since April 2011? This government is not sincere to us and they have continued to make a mockery of the people of the north, thinking that we are fools.

“It is unfortunate that the Federal Government is just realising that it should release the money for the compensation of the families of the victims, some of who have since died out of frustration and hardship. Why have they released the money with just a few months to the beginning of electioneering for the 2015 Presidency?

“We want right-thinking Nigerians to read between the lines and know that this government has never been sincere with the people and that it is not responsive enough to the yearning and aspirations of the people of Nigeria, particularly, the north that has been afflicted by series of violence in recent years.

“The Presidency should stop playing politics with everything in Nigeria. It should be able to differentiate between providing service to humanity and playing to the gallery for political gains,” the ACF leader warned.

The Federal Government, yesterday, announced the approval for the release of N5,747,694,780.00 to nine states of the federation for direct disbursement to those who suffered losses of property, means of livelihood and places of worship in the post-election violence of 2011.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, who announced this, said government’s decision was to assist those who suffered losses during the crisis as recommended by the Sheikh Ahmed Lemu panel that was set up after the crisis.

The states to benefit from the money, according to Abati, are, Bauchi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, Adamawa and Akwa-Ibom.

Abati explained that the interest of those who died in the course of the crisis would be accommodated by the Federal Government.

It would be recalled that following the post-election violence and civil disturbances in some states after the April 2011 elections, President Jonathan set up a panel of enquiry headed by Sheik Ahmed Lemu, to among other things, identified the spread and extent of losses suffered across the country.

The committee recommendation was adopted by the Federal Executive Council which directed the Federal Ministry of Lands and Housing to assess the reported losses and damage to property in all affected states.

The Special Adviser to the president noted that based on the Ministry’s report, “President Jonathan has approved the release of funds to nine of the 14 affected states as follows: Bauchi; N1,574,879,000.00; Sokoto, N55,888,506.00; Zamfara, N93,253,485.00; Niger, N433,375,875.00; and Jigawa, N208,667,634.00.

Others include: Katsina, N1,973,209,440.00; Kano, N944,827,000.00; Adamawa, N420,089,840.00 and Akwa Ibom N43,504,000.00.

The presidential spokesman explained that” Inspection and assessment of damages and losses suffered are yet to be carried out in Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Kaduna and Nasarawa states as modalities and further instructions for the ex ercise are still being expected from the state governments.

“Funds to cover the losses sustained by victims of the post election violence in these five states will be approved and released at the conclusion of the assessment exercise” he said.

I have just these to ask all of you.how many years will you work for exxon mobil before you can earn enough to buy a property in ikoyi, banana island or lekki?was mobil, total, shell started by some1?wat if those guys had chosen rather to whine about unemployment?Nigerian government and system is so bad yet the richest black man in the whole world got made by that system.quit giving urself countless reasons y u can't make it or get a job and start seeing yourself equipped and talented enough to go to war against the system and conquer it.The CEOs of this world are not necessarily the smartest people(even though they always try to make you believe that),they are just people with the most guts or to be more specific the HARDEST BALLS.on the other hand the poorest people are usually the most fearful(not lazy or less intelligent as you've been made to believe),they r those who expect much from the system of the world just because they are born in it(they have the highest sense of entitlment).for those of you still undergraduates, take this from me,the world is your oyster, don't let anybody douse ur zeal with their tales of woe.if u r still an undergrad in an abroad school expecially in the western climes,do 1 thing for me(and urself),each time you walk into a building, open ur eyes and observe those things, designs, installations and services that r so different from what u were used to at home(those comforts that make jand, jand).make ur research from the manufactures to the installers on what it will take to replicate those things in nigeria(Nigeria has more money to spend than you can imagine).you might be lucky and find a company while making ur enquiries that will be willing to partner with ur new company(so long as you can convince them of a huge market in nigeria).come down to nigeria,do a small survey, come up with several proposals and quotes for prospective clients(you will find many of of the in ABJ and LAG,back your naturally expensive solutions with a china equivalent(you will always find many of them).submit hundreds of proposals and surely with a good sales pitch and your fake accent, you will land Purchase orders(ofcourse I don't need to teach about packaging a company, virtual offices and fronting after all ur foreign degree).what I just shared with you is a bit of what chinese, indians and even some europeans r doing in your own country(they r literally scampering to naija, most of whom don't care to pick the degrees you pay heavily in their country to collecty).again I repeat, without BALLs, you r in for a looooong thing complaining and whining your way through life.and for those who neither have GOD nor Man(not reliable) I have this to say sorry!

don'nt be silly, most street and less enlightened touts all over the world africa included naturally imitate their brothers among AAs mostly cos they share a lot in common.and also for your information,Africans mostly love and admire their AA brothers until they get to meet them for real like Usher comming to nigeria and saying afro women smell, that tout rickross doing an obnoxious video of poor african children running after his money,50kobo getting into a fight with a local artists...and the list goes on(you comming on nairaland with your insulting propositions).then reality dawns on most that these guys have so been beaten up with a slavery, they don'nt know what it means to love and be proud of your father before your friends on your college graduation day though he came dressed in rags.Africa is not there yet for many reasons not unconnected to the west, but a real african always has his head above his shoulders,no apologies to anybody why i am the way i am,it's my life.anyways no need for the fights,if we can'nt love and accept each other, let's please respect the distance(Atlantic Ocean)between us cause we sure need it.

Blyss: Granted, such a venture will not be to every ones taste in the beginning, it'll take those with strong will, a goal and determination to pioneer the effort, and trust me when I tell you that their are many thousands of AA who have such embodiment.

Thousands of years? undecided No, no where near thousands of years, Ace. With a steady stream of quality AA coming in with their massive amounts of resources, connections, education and most importantly Experience, it'll take less than 30 years to become Africa's most prosperous and progressive economic force, and this nation's presence of a homogeneous population would be the major spearheading drive behind such rapid growth. The sensational grounds for high profit margins in such a nation as one of well educated, money flushed, African-American on "virgin" African ground would spurge a fierce drive the world round to invest and invest big in this new society.

LOL, are you serious? Tens of AA currently move to Africa every year for business purposes or more personal reasons. Some stay permanently, other stay for several years. At first it can be a bit of a struggle adjusting to the change in atmosphere, but like any other people migrating around the world.. you get over it and get on with your goals if you truly seek to achieve them.

You make us out to be a bunch of shallow flakes or something, with all that talk of not wanting to get dark, and maneuver around in the sun. cheesy By the way, west Africa is much more intensely hotter than Central Africa. I've observed the average temperatures of Central Africa, and they are cooler than the mean average experienced in most of the south and South west (including Southern Cali) during the summer and spring, and as you know, MOST AA live in the South and over a million more live in the south-west.

Funny thing is, many African immigrants I've conversed with over the topic of weather here in the US, have stated that summers heat worst than the heat experienced in many parts of Africa, because we have very dry heat here, while in most of central, southern and some parts of eastern Africa it's more moist or temperate. So if the Africans want to hightail out of Africa they need to hand us over their land. We'll gladly take it off your hands.

You've made a poor case. I know of many AA who if the opportunity was presented, would go in a heart beat. See you need to understand the mindset of the average AA. Many are kind of xenophobic, in that they don't really like to be around people whom are foreign to us, not even white Americans whom we've lived in this land with for over 400 years; so if you ask your average AA if they'd move to Africa to live among the native population there, in their nation, under their rule.. the vast majority will give an resounding HELL NO!! But if you say, would you move to Africa to a nation, created by and for AA void of any natives, then you'd be heavily surprised at the numbers that'll say yes. I'd surmise that several millions would want to come.
Critically examining the information you provided in the last paragragh,i would say it seems most AAs lack both identity and culture.Note, indigenous africans would find insulting and offensive your intentions to buy off a piece of their land just so you can be all by your self.In African culture,a pure breed african will be suspiciousof you if he offers you food as a visitor in his house and you reject it only to buy from vendors outside while still logding with him,he will sooner throw you out of his house.

Demdem: No one is saying our past wasnt terrible. Due process wasnt carried out no doubt even if we had less igbos in the Army especially after the civil war. However because we didnt get it right in the past doesnt suggest it should continue like that for ever. When will the cycle end? is this the transformation the retardeen promised us?
I agree with you,but for true change to come,we must first remove all imbalances e.g the southeast limping with 5 states while other zones have 6,some even 7 states. Now ignoring these imbalances while singing change and transformation is what I call hypocrisy.

now let me teach u wat u dnt know.ur money represents ur sweat/ur time/ur life.giving it to God has always been an act of devotion and worship like when i sing dance and lift up hands in worship of him.i dont need money doubling cos he has taught me to create money myslf.nd i have brethen who hav given 10million dollers.in ur limited vision u see men of God but we see alters to offer up our sacrifices to our GOD.go read proverbs.3:9-10 words spoken by a wise nd rich ruler of men.
